Any Makeup, Hair and Fashion Advice for Sarah Ferguson, 59?

Dear Eugenie, hurry up and get pregnant. Fergie is gonna be one interesting granny.

by Anonymousreply 1May 10, 2019 1:30 AM

That's a pretty rough 59, although I think she still has a certain ... handsome quality. But my mom is 70 and looks a good five years younger than Sarah.

by Anonymousreply 2May 10, 2019 1:31 AM

To stop drinking and smoking would make a world of difference to face and figure.

Hair and fashion-wise, I think she’s doing all right. I sort of want her never to change.

by Anonymousreply 3May 10, 2019 1:33 AM

Her very pale skin is prone to accelerated aging.

by Anonymousreply 4May 10, 2019 1:33 AM

My only advice is a quiet suicide. She is way to ugly to live.

by Anonymousreply 5May 10, 2019 1:36 AM

Bonus points if she takes Andrew and her two fug daughters with her.

by Anonymousreply 6May 10, 2019 1:43 AM

She’s a total train wreck. Sloppy and slovenly looking

by Anonymousreply 7May 10, 2019 1:44 AM

On a positive note, the red hair goes with the bloodshot eyes.

Cut the hair! Short. Like annie lennox

by Anonymousreply 10May 10, 2019 1:51 AM

No more black hosiery.

by Anonymousreply 11May 10, 2019 1:52 AM

Lighten those teefs a shade. Moisturize and get a stylist. Agree with the hair. Hair looks old fogey.

by Anonymousreply 12May 10, 2019 1:55 AM

Quit the red wine, on the other hand if I were her I wouldn't give a fuck about my looks at this stage.

by Anonymousreply 13May 10, 2019 1:57 AM

Red heads with fair hair really need to look after their skin, which she hasn't. She needs to starve herself thin, moisturise intensely twice a day and use sunscreen even in Britain. Needs to botox the crows feet, bleach her teeth, a warm medium chestnut brown instead of the red. perhaps in a layered straightened long bob with bangs. Breast reduction and repositioning, liposuction thighs and torso, Upper eyelids and mid face and neck lift, I do like the green on her though.

by Anonymousreply 14May 10, 2019 2:06 AM

I had an aunt who had bright, beautiful red hair as a young woman. I don’t remember it being as long as Sarah’s, maybe just touching her shoulders. When she hit 40 she cut it into a pageboy and started lightening it. By the time she was 50, her hair was cut short, and was an ash blonde. I think she did it correctly, ash blonde can pass much easier for natural on a senior than deep, dark red hair.

The black stockings may be to hide blue veins given how pale redheads are. With age, the veins get much more noticeable.

Fashion wise, she may want to look into investing in some foundation garments with better, more support.

by Anonymousreply 15May 10, 2019 2:10 AM

Euthanasia

by Anonymousreply 16May 10, 2019 2:12 AM

Stop wearing dresses that are too tight and lose the black stockings.

Get a hair cut.

Hide that muscular left nippie that is mislocated too far up near your upper arm and trying to poke its way through your green suit woven apparently from freshly cut meadow grasses.

by Anonymousreply 19May 10, 2019 2:32 AM

A brown paper bag worn over the head is always nice.

by Anonymousreply 20May 10, 2019 2:54 AM

Yes. A brown bag after she finishes standing in it.

by Anonymousreply 21May 10, 2019 3:03 AM

She looks good for 59.

by Anonymousreply 22May 10, 2019 3:08 AM

No she doesn't. She's only a couple years younger than my mom and SF looks about 20 years older than her

by Anonymousreply 23May 10, 2019 3:15 AM

She would look much better with a shorter style, perhaps one similar to this one worn by Helen Mirren.

Also, it should be a bit darker.

I like her hair

by Anonymousreply 25May 10, 2019 3:20 AM

Shorter hair, trimmer silhouette, nix the flats and the bright green.

by Anonymousreply 26May 10, 2019 3:22 AM

She really should've been using way more sunblock when she was getting her toes sucked. Her skin looks like Gary Oldman's in Dracula

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 27May 10, 2019 3:23 AM

A time machine to go back and apply sunblock and stop smoking. Failing that some kind of mini face lift and a skin peel. She should go strawberry blond too, much softer and flattering.

by Anonymousreply 28May 10, 2019 3:25 AM

I think she looks pretty good. I don't think she needs to cut her hair. She's not thin, but she has managed to keep her weight at a reasonable place. I would say she needs to take better care of her skin, more hydration, and get a new makeup artist. She doesn't even have on lipstick, which is such an easy way to look better.

by Anonymousreply 29May 10, 2019 3:28 AM

"Any Makeup, Hair and Fashion Advice for Sarah Ferguson, 59?"

There wasn't a lot to work with in the first place.

Does the Royal Family forbid botox etc? Kate Middleton looks quite haggard for her age as well, but can't imagine her ever looking as bad as Fergs.

by Anonymousreply 32May 10, 2019 3:43 AM

R28 I was just about to suggest a time machine so she could start avoiding the sun in her twenties and quit or never start smoking. I’m not sure sunblock is going to make a big difference at this point, there’s decades of damage. I will say she looks better than one would expect, given her fair skin and love of cigarettes and sun.

I agree she should go strawberry blonde. Vibrant or dark hair looks unnatural on older people. Gray hair is light and blonde hair is light so variations on blonde look more natural. She should get blonde highlights at least. She should get her lips pumped up a bit. Nothing big, just enough to get rid of the prune lips she has now.

Her dress is fine. It’s a good color and it fits and is age appropriate. I think fully opaque tights or sheer nylons would be better than the in between hose she’s wearing. I get that she’s hit the point that heals are just too uncomfortable. She should go with plain flats. I think boots or booties with opaque tights would would work.

by Anonymousreply 33May 10, 2019 3:50 AM

I love Sarah, Duchess of York. She's a great ol' girl. Sarah and Diana were my favorites and breathed life into the royal and made them the somewhat modern family that they are today. Fergie has had lots of challenges, ups and downs along the way, but she persevered. She has raised an enormous amount of money for charity, and along the way gained the queen's respect. I hope she remarries Andrew so they be happy together in their latter years. She deserved to be happy. And she looked great at Harry wedding and at her daughter's wedding.

Pre Andy she was a skier, spending full seasons in the Alps: the skin damage is done. She has lived a full, interesting life and it shows on her face. And body. Top and tail of haircut and heels would help as a gentle starting point.

by Anonymousreply 39May 10, 2019 4:26 AM

Sarah needs a stylist and a hairdresser. Sometimes she looks fine, but other times she could use a little refinement and tailoring. She's great in an interview. She's much more natural in front of the camera than most of the royal family.

by Anonymousreply 40May 10, 2019 4:37 AM

Booze face for days.

Wow. Looks great at R35.

by Anonymousreply 42May 10, 2019 4:45 AM

I’m in my 50’s and I’ve been using moisturizer with SPF 30 on my face for years. My skin looks a lot better than Sarah’s.

by Anonymousreply 43May 10, 2019 4:50 AM

I think her priority is boozing not moisturizing, and who can blame her?

by Anonymousreply 44May 10, 2019 4:52 AM

She should stop with the nude lip. She needs a pink lip. Nothing too dark. The nude lip washes her out. She needs to dye her eyebrows a shade darker than her hair. She looks a lot better when she’s got her brows filled in. If she dyed them she’d have visible brows even when she can’t be bothered, like in the pic at R38. Fair skinned fair haired people need to enhance their brows or they look washed out.

by Anonymousreply 45May 10, 2019 4:53 AM

A long bob, with highlights would be a good start.

by Anonymousreply 46May 10, 2019 5:01 AM

To add to the comments, she and other fair redheads, should ditch any black clothes near her face.

by Anonymousreply 47May 10, 2019 5:44 AM

She needs a shorter do. After 50 , no woman Should wear long hair. She needs better Make up, some blush and lipstick. Ditch the support hose and wear Medium heels. Reduce the big boobs. I still love her I DON'T GIVE A SHIT PERSONALITY ! WISH HER AND DI COULD HAVE RECONCILED.

by Anonymousreply 48May 10, 2019 6:32 AM

I like the color of the dress. Shorter hair, or maybe an upsweep. She might even try some kind of modified bouffant, as I could kind of see her pulling it off. Plus the shade is too vibrant for her since she's put on a bit of, but not too much weight. Plus she should use some moisturizer and sun screen and drink a lot more water.

by Anonymousreply 49May 10, 2019 6:44 AM

Nothing less than a full phenol peel would help her skin at this point. And that won't address the state of her hands or chest. Plus - facelift, botox, lip filler, teeth whitening, hair cut and colour, breast lift/reduction, diet and exercise regime, including smoking cessation.

On the other hand...why bother?

by Anonymousreply 50May 10, 2019 6:52 AM

Redheads age badly and Sarah was tomboy who didn't make maintaining her looks a priority. She appears happy so who really cares?

I agree that Kate is looking rough, but Pippa's skin is much worse. Both women look at least 10 yrs older than they are. In Kate's case, towing the royal line can be exhausting and stressful. And three very young kids doesn't help either. Apparently she and Will are very hands on parents.

by Anonymousreply 51May 10, 2019 7:13 AM

F. looks fine, not like the embalmed others.

by Anonymousreply 52May 10, 2019 7:24 AM

Red and green should never be seen....

by Anonymousreply 53May 10, 2019 8:12 AM

[quote]Red heads with fair hair really need to look after their skin, which she hasn't. She needs to starve herself thin

Getting thinner is out of the question for someone with her damaged skin. She needs that bit of fat to fill her wrinkles.

by Anonymousreply 54May 10, 2019 8:58 AM

I'd like to see her in softer colors which harmonize with her hair color and complexion, instead of doing battle with them.

by Anonymousreply 55May 10, 2019 9:24 AM

She wouldn't look so "just out after a long illness" if she had some lipstick and a little rouge.

by Anonymousreply 56May 10, 2019 10:36 AM

She has major chin hairs in OP's photo.

by Anonymousreply 57May 10, 2019 10:50 AM

Go out and get fitted properly for a bra.

by Anonymousreply 58May 10, 2019 11:17 AM

One more vote for the quiet suicide.

However ‘quiet’ is not in her vulgar DNA.

It would be OPRAH TALKS WITH SARAH DUCHESS OF YORK ABOUT HER QUIET PLANNED SUICIDE & EXCITING BOOK & MOVIE TIE-IN “A RIGHT ROYAL SNUFF”.

by Anonymousreply 59May 10, 2019 11:58 AM

^ Read that as 'Right Royal Muff'. An alternative Fergiesque title?

by Anonymousreply 60May 10, 2019 12:33 PM

No woman over 50 should have long hair? Hogwash! Who dictates this kind of silliness?

Women can hair of any length at any age. If kept styled and a color good for the individual, that's the best part.

by Anonymousreply 61May 10, 2019 12:52 PM

Kate, Pippa and Fergie: three object lessons on what tobacco will do to a complexion.

by Anonymousreply 62May 10, 2019 1:42 PM

It's "regimen," not "regime," R50.

by Anonymousreply 63May 10, 2019 3:59 PM

Kate would look much prettier and healthier if she would put on 10 pounds.

by Anonymousreply 64May 10, 2019 4:01 PM

She looks like a frumpy drag queen

by Anonymousreply 65May 10, 2019 4:15 PM

After about 45 women should not have super long hair, especially blond. I see this all the time. Woman realizes she's getting older and tries to go for an extremely young do, growing the hair to bra band and lightening it to baby blond. It doesn't work, never does. Now, Fergie should keep the red, but go a little softer with it. Lose the schoolgirl, pulled back curls and have a more sophisticated hairstyle, no shorter than shoulder length. No streaks of blonde or washed out strawberry color as her skin will appear even paler. More makeup. Boob lift, neck lift. Chemical peel for the facial and neck skin. Her features are not unattractive but she doesn't work hard at looking good.

by Anonymousreply 66May 10, 2019 4:15 PM

Short hair with some height maybe? Her hair is thick enough to do it.

by Anonymousreply 67May 10, 2019 4:18 PM

She looks ok for 59. Should avoid the harsh overhead lighting in OP pic. That makes everyone look terrible.

by Anonymousreply 68May 10, 2019 4:32 PM

Oh honey, just keep doing what you're doing. So what if you look like hell most of the time? You are who you are.

by Anonymousreply 69May 10, 2019 5:13 PM

Sarah remains my favorite of the entire bunch. The girl has personality, and she does a lot of good work for charities around the world. Plus she's a survivor. Here's to the Duchess of York!

by Anonymousreply 70May 10, 2019 5:32 PM

Many older women look better with a shorter style. And I don’t mean SHORT. Shoulder length is nice. It also depends on personality and overall look. I have a neighbor who’s about 75, very thin, sort of bohemian with long thick white hair which she usually has in a loose braid that hangs over one shoulder. It used to be gravy-brown but she stopped dyeing it and now it’s a beautiful white and she looks younger. She looks perfect.

It’s not a hard-and fast rule, but sometimes a dark, coquettish style just makes a woman look more like mutton, not lamb.

by Anonymousreply 71May 10, 2019 5:59 PM

We saw a nude photo of the once cute Andrew that revealed, sadly, tinymeat

by Anonymousreply 72May 10, 2019 6:02 PM

She is looking rough! Back in the early 90’s I waited tables at the Hard Rock Cafe and every year they have a fundraiser for nordoff robbins which helped kids with music therapy and a lot of celebrities attend it. One year sarah was there and I have to say up close she was gorgeous. Pictures did not due her justice. Beautiful hair and skin and was very thin back then. Everybody gets old but it’s sad how much she’s let herself go but she was a stunning woman at one time.

by Anonymousreply 73May 10, 2019 6:13 PM

She looked fantastic at the Wedding of the Century (The Markle Gala).

She cleans up nicely.

by Anonymousreply 74May 10, 2019 6:53 PM

I agree that Sarah was stunning back in the day, r73. For a short time anyway. But her lifestyle and seemingly reduced social and financial circumstances are invariably reflected in her comparatively lack of self-care, poor fashion choices and hanging out with whoever will have her. She's desperately hanging onto that "duchess aura" as she has no other identity, measure of success. I doubt she's going to improve much - even if she did succumb to a "makeover."

by Anonymousreply 75May 10, 2019 7:05 PM

6 lbs of vaseline on her face to spare the camera.

by Anonymousreply 76May 10, 2019 7:16 PM

Caftans. Earrings.

Can I recommend that for dumpy fraus too?

by Anonymousreply 77May 10, 2019 8:57 PM

Cut the hair blunt, at the clavicle. Grow out the Farrah feathers and lose the curls if she stays a redhead. I would do her hair platinum.

Do something about the frumpy wardrobe. wear only neutrals.

And a good peel to refresh the face, arms and hands, and decolletage. Then she can booze and smoke for a few more years before the shit shows again.

by Anonymousreply 78May 10, 2019 9:13 PM

Oh ffs R14, shut up, life’s too short, she’s not an actress or a model, shove all that nonsense, she looks fine. .

by Anonymousreply 79May 10, 2019 10:23 PM

she should go back to this style. it suited her well

by Anonymousreply 80May 11, 2019 2:52 AM

R80, it did! She also looks good with an updo.

by Anonymousreply 81May 11, 2019 2:54 AM

she looked a little ann-margret-ish with that style. It was completely age appropriate without being boring.

by Anonymousreply 82May 11, 2019 2:57 AM

Consensus: Cut her hair short. Who from the royal family is on DL and can get this collective wisdom to her? No, I don't mean our run of the mill queens.

by Anonymousreply 83May 11, 2019 2:58 AM

I think the picture at R80 is a really, really high end wig. Nothing wrong with that. Women should begin taking advantage of good wigs again.

by Anonymousreply 84May 11, 2019 3:06 AM

A bungee jump with the rope tied behind her head.

by Anonymousreply 85May 11, 2019 3:10 AM
