Who the fuck prints email anymore?

by Anonymousreply 1May 2, 2019 11:28 PM

Right, no paper trail.

by Anonymousreply 2May 2, 2019 11:28 PM

R1, people who want a record.

by Anonymousreply 3May 2, 2019 11:28 PM

You can always backup / archive the files. There's really no advantage to having every little thing printed on paper.

by Anonymousreply 4May 2, 2019 11:29 PM

R3 because email can't be archived or saved as a PDF? Backed up to external drives and the cloud?

[quote]Who the fuck prints email anymore?

Stupid people who want to wave it in someone else's face because: "I need your help with this. Right away. Immediately. I'm important. I'm sooo very important! Help me! HELP ME!" etc. Or at least that's how it works in an office.

by Anonymousreply 6May 2, 2019 11:30 PM

Power goes out, files get lost. Paper is still important especially if you get into legal trouble.

by Anonymousreply 7May 2, 2019 11:31 PM

I hope to god when I get older I don't lose touch with modern technology along the way, Printing an email is like sending a fax. Ridiculously out of touch.

by Anonymousreply 8May 2, 2019 11:32 PM

R7 - yikes - "power goes out" does not mean your files are lost. I have a backup of every single thing I need (actually 2). Papers being lost is a much more likely scenario than digital copies (and their backups) being deleted.

by Anonymousreply 9May 2, 2019 11:33 PM

[quote]Printing an email is like sending a fax.

JFC.

Sending an email is like sending a fax, you just don't waste paper, time, etc. doing it like you do when you fax something.

[quote]files get lost.

Because people don't save their work or back anything up properly.

by Anonymousreply 10May 2, 2019 11:36 PM

you're not paying for the paper, bitch. I'll print whatever I want.

by Anonymousreply 11May 2, 2019 11:37 PM

Oh, to be old and out of touch.

by Anonymousreply 12May 2, 2019 11:40 PM

[quote]please consider the environment before printing this email

Please don't tell me how to run my office.

by Anonymousreply 13May 2, 2019 11:42 PM

Virtue-signalling. That's all it is. Virtue-signalling.

by Anonymousreply 14May 2, 2019 11:44 PM

That’s an obnoxious email signature but for real who the fuck prints out email?? Weird.

by Anonymousreply 15May 2, 2019 11:47 PM

R10 step away from the typewriter and filmstrip projector.

by Anonymousreply 16May 2, 2019 11:48 PM

I purposely ask for plastic bags at the store. I make sure to let the cashier know that I am going to empty my cats litter box in them and that I set it on fire and throw it out the window. The look of horror on their face and the surrounding customers makes it more than worth it.

by Anonymousreply 17May 2, 2019 11:48 PM

Law firms sometimes print emails & keep patient files separate from less relevant communications, though most case management software is electronic. To that end, that signature makes it longer and uses more paper as does the nonsensical "This email was intended for the recipient only....destroy it immediately or die"

by Anonymousreply 18May 2, 2019 11:50 PM

[quote]step away from the typewriter and filmstrip projector.

Barking up the wrong tree.

by Anonymousreply 19May 2, 2019 11:51 PM

I’ve considered it.

by Anonymousreply 20May 3, 2019 2:50 AM

I, myself, hate the environment.

What of it?
