It looks charming.
In some parts, it looks more like Europe than North America.

Go for a long weekend ... plenty of great Airbnbs in the middle of things ... charming walks, kitschy souvenir shops, good good and beer ... had a fun visit last summer

Went last summer , it is very charming and very touristy...you can venture into the residential area and really experience the lifestyle. We loved it!

I was on my way and in Montreal years ago and was told it was 100% French Canadian speaking which I now hear is false?

Is this for real or some tourist board promotion.? Outside of the old town it's a dismal homophobic provincial government town.

It’s pronounced Ka-BECK,

It's been a while since I've been there but I loved it. I went as part of a trip to Nova Scotia, Prince Edward's Island, Montreal, and Quebec City. Canada is a wonderful place for vacations.

I've never been there, so it's not part of any promotion on my part, R11. I just appreciate how pretty it looks to an outsider.

Handsome, R18. Montreal has the better bars, by far though.

Can you get by with English?

There used to be one fully-nude male stripper bar there -- not sure if it's still around. It was tiny, and this was many years ago.

During the Winter Carnival, they have this insane canoe race, where canoe teams cross the half-frozen river. They go over solid ice, near-freezing open water, and ice that's breaking up or slushy... in canoes.
Which almost makes me want to visit the Winter Carnival, but I've been outdoors in Minnesota in the winter. It's so fucking cold my trachea tried to close rather than let air that cold into my poor vulnerable lungs.

Going to Montreal for the 4th to celebrate at Stock and at Campus ( not my fav but u never know) I will check out Taboo, never been there. Then some bathhouse. Most likely I will hire my fav escort ,this delicious blonde (no even one word in English) Met l him at stock. My 1st time, all Stock boys gravitated around,me I am of age 50is, so it was a lot of fun. But he was the one, after our first lap I was already typing my Uber to my room. We spent all Sunday and Monday morning. This trip kind of want to break the routine from st catherine street vortex. Any good tips? I will report.

DL help! Thinking about spending a week On a road trip to Montreal, Quebec City and the Eastern Townships area in August, do you have any recommendations for places to see? I am hoping for a relaxing resort stay in Eastern Townships is there enough to do in that area for a couple of days? TIA!
