Jon-Erik Hexum Unreleased & Unedited Interview
Jon-Erik Hexum Unreleased Unedited Interview "As You Never Saw Him" being very patient with a clueless interviewer who thinks she's Barbara Walters: "Jon, I think you've been around long enough to have made a decision on whether being extremely handsome and attractive is, um...a pain, or a great pleasure?"
"And I live vicariously through the characters I play. And the stunt men I know, who get to do the really fun stuff."
"I can assist sometimes, but you're berated verbally and operantly conditioned not to do it. Because if you get hurt, then everybody's out of a job. But Jim, Bob and Steve are all going to be unemployed if you get hurt. There's a lot of peer pressure on the set, you know."
"I don't want to be difficult, but I hate these questions and interviews."

Jon Erik Hexum.
One of those impossibly beautiful guys who for some reason or another doesn't register much sexual heat when he's live action and talking. At least not for me.

It was uncommon for a male model to be taken seriously as an actor at that time.
He would likely have had a long career since he was starring in a series and making movies at the same time.

beautiful guy......his career would have been huge until his looks started to go. Rumor had it he was having a fling with Tony Danza.............or another place I read they were just close friends...........think Hexum would have been a hard guy just to be friends with, no matter how hetersexual you were as he had the kind of looks to hook even straight guys, much like Rock Hudosn did decades before. My hunch tho was he was on the extreme downlow. For the length of his career he attended industry functions almost always alone. If straight, you d think he would have been constantly attached to a beautiful woman/ I heard this interview before, the noise is awful and Hexum was polite to the idiot interviewing him.

I have never heard of him or any of his TV shows. How odd.
Anyway, this is from Wikipedia and based on the associations I would guess there was a good chance he whored himself or else the casting couch played a role in getting him started:
“A few days after graduation, he moved to New York in 1980 to pursue his acting career. While working as an apartment cleaner, he met Bob LeMond of LeMond/Zetter Management, the manager of John Travolta. LeMond saw great potential in Hexum.”
