by Anonymousreply 12April 8, 2019 11:28 PM

I understand it's only a myth that more women give birth during a full moon, but I'll go with May 3rd as the birth date. Moon and tides would be so TIG.

by Anonymousreply 16April 9, 2019 12:10 AM

From r591 in the last thread:

The Greville Tiara The Greville Kokoshnik diamond-emerald tiara The Greville Festoon diamond necklace The Greville Diamond Chandelier Earrings The Ruby and Diamond Floral Necklace (I think Kate was leant this once) and has matching earrings The Greville (HUGE) Diamond Drop (assume it's a pendant) The Greville Diamond Ivy Leaf earrings The Greville (magnificent) Emerald and Diamond Necklace

*****

So, I looked up Margaret Greville in wiki. Interesting story. Father was a wealthy brewer and an MP, didn't marry her mother until Margaret was 20. She was a "close friend" of our Queen Mary and when she passed away in 1942, she left her jewelry to the QM who was queen at the time. She left her stately home, Polesden Lacey, to the National Trust. I thought the name sounded familiar. There's a youth hostel in the forest on the grounds and years ago I spent a night there. Hiked in, very basic place, no electricity. It's been upgraded since then.

At any rate, somehow being illegitimate didn't interfere with her social life in Edwardian times.

I predict SohoBebe will emerge either on:

April 21 (the Queen's Birthday) to stick it to the family that way and gain lots of attention, or

April 23rd which is both St George's Day (England's patron Saint and still a big day in England) and Shakespeare's birth and death date to stick it to MeGain's haters in England (90% of the country) that the child is an Invaluable English Treasure and a Cultural Icon.

by Anonymousreply 19April 9, 2019 12:39 AM

The baby was born a month ago in Morrocco. They call him Morrocco. He has three hairs on his head and a vestigal tail.

by Anonymousreply 20April 9, 2019 12:42 AM

R17 - I'm that poster on the Greville Bequest, and she left her jewellery to Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, not Queen Mary. Elizabeth and Prince Albert spent their honeymoon at Polesden Lacy in 1923. By 1942, Edward VIII had long since abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson, and his younger brother, the former Duke of York, and his wife, Elizabeth were on the throne. Queen Mary was still a queen, but a Dowager Queen, no longer Queen Consort of Britain.

Maggie, as she was called, was said to have a very nasty personality, and Emerald Cunard (yes, that Cunard) once said that she would rather have an open sewer in her drawing room than Maggie Greville.

You have to read Chips Channon's diaries to get the real story.

by Anonymousreply 21April 9, 2019 12:43 AM

R17 It’s interesting that the British royal family was so strict regarding birth in some ways and not in other ways. Patrick Plunket 7th Baron Plunket was one of the closest friends of Queen Elizabeth II. His parents were close friends of her parents. His mother was the illegitimate daughter of the Marquess of Londonderry. Daughter of a Marquess but illegitimate nonetheless. I think it’s kind of cool that that wasn’t an issue for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, in the same way that Maggie Greville was a friend of Queen Mary despite being illegitimate.

Of course these days that’s no big deal but in those days...

Perhaps it comes from the view at the time of royalty, that everybody not royal was of the same class.

by Anonymousreply 22April 9, 2019 12:43 AM

R22 again - or maybe Queen Mary made allowances for Maggie Greville because she knew what a stash of loot was coming the royal family’s way if they kept in Maggie’s good books! Maggie having no descendants.

by Anonymousreply 23April 9, 2019 12:46 AM

Margaret Greville's father did eventually marry her mother, and her birth was legitimized. She became her father's legal heir. Her father had a beautiful home built for Margaret after she married, Polesden Lacey, now owned by the National Trust.

By the time Queen Mary became friends with Margaret, she was an incredibly wealthy - and legal - heiress.

Many illegitimate offspring of male British royals have been given noble titles with land grants and monies. For example, Henry VIII formally acknowledged his illegitimate son, Henry FitzRoy, and made him Duke of Richmond and Somerset and arranged a very good match for him with the daughter of the Duke of Norfolk.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 24April 9, 2019 2:06 AM

It’d be interesting if any of the royals did an ancestry test - she how many illegitimate cousins there are out there going back centuries.

R21, If I were looking for Chips Channon’s diaries, what would be a good title to search? So far the LA County library catalog turns up nothing.

by Anonymousreply 27April 9, 2019 2:30 AM

R27 Try Henry Channon or Henry “Chips” Channon.

by Anonymousreply 28April 9, 2019 2:34 AM

I know the perfect baby name: Diantha!

In “The Two Mrs. Greenvilles,” a wanton showgirl marries a rebellious aristocrat and chooses that name for their daughter, having read it in a romance novel or something. His family think it’s dreadful and theatrical. But it would certainly fit the bill here!

by Anonymousreply 29April 9, 2019 2:39 AM

I did, R28. No luck, I’m afraid.

by Anonymousreply 30April 9, 2019 2:40 AM

by Anonymousreply 31April 9, 2019 2:40 AM

1) Gender: It's gonna be twins, a boy and a girl

2) Date of birth: 21st of April, the Queen's birthday AND Easter

3) Weight: whatever is fashionable

4) Both children will be a delicious shade of "au lait" with a tiny smattering of frecklage.

5) Time of Birth: Prime Time

6) Hair Color: honey almond

7) Eye Color: ice blue

8) Name - the boy will be Lordx Clooney Soho Millennium Spirit Charles Windsor and the girl will be Ladx Eurydice Colette Clytemnestra Dido Bathsheba Rabelais Patricia Cocteau Diana Windsor

R34 - thanks. Gosh, shame that it’s not more widely available. Sounds very entertaining.

by Anonymousreply 35April 9, 2019 4:32 AM

To add to the surrogate conspiracy fun and nonsense - a 'home birth' would be the way to go. Such births minimise traceable official records and can contain a planned deception. Lies would still need to be told but only the parents and a midwife or doctor need be involved. Prepare Instagram and the world for the delightful story of an unexpectedly quick labour and safe delivery by the midwife who 'just happened to be visiting' Froggy Cottage, when all of the staff were away on duties elsewhere. Just sayin.

by Anonymousreply 36April 9, 2019 5:12 AM

Someone above or in the last thread mentioned the Queen being seen horseback riding at Windsor. HM's doctors recommended a few years ago that she no longer ride horses and the linked DM article mentions in passing deep into the article that she and her Head Groom are pictured riding her black fleet ponies. She rides ponies now. She turns 93 in a couple of weeks. Good for her! But her horse riding days are over.

The photos last week of Philip driving a carriage around Windsor showed him driving a team of ponies.

You can also read about the Greville bequest in James Lees-Milne’s diaries from the 1940s and 50s. He worked the National Trust at the time and was involved in trying to convince her to leave her house to them. He also talks about the jewelry. He doesn’t have the most pleasant things to say about her.

It might be more readily available than Chip’s diaries. The original person who posted about his diaries has got me intrigued though. I’m going to keep an eye on amazon. Sometimes they will have an out of print book for a really outrageous price, but then later the price will drop.

So Polesden Lacey wasn't entailed or whatever the phrase is and could be donated to the National Trust. No close relatives to inherit the stash of jewels to they went to the daughter of her great and good friend. Interesting.

During summer vacation a long time ago, I came across two biographies of the Duke of Windsor. One was flattering, "gave up his throne for the woman he loved!" . The other was scathing and went into Wallis's lurid past and their louche lifestyle. Fascinating because each book would describe the same event or conversation and put completely different spins on it. Both were thick volumes and judging from what I remember about the bindings, published in the late 50s/early 60s. Would love to reread them today.

by Anonymousreply 56April 9, 2019 12:13 PM

The worst thing about the Duke of Windsor is that he was a Nazi sympathizer.

by Anonymousreply 57April 9, 2019 12:34 PM

by Anonymousreply 59April 9, 2019 12:41 PM

I think the surrogate hysteria is fuelled by middle-aged fraus who have problems conceiving and the plethora of articles/literature this particular predicament produces. Fact is, lots of women have problems conceiving, regardless of their age. If you can‘t get pregnant at 38 you might have had a problem conceiving at 28. I read an interview with a Gyno who said she performs a lot of abortions on women over 50 who didn’t use contraceptives because they thought their fertility window was closed anyway. If the narrative is that between 35-45 are prime can‘t-conceive-hysteria years, a 38 year old who gets pregnant immediately seems suspicious. And provokes a lot of envy from fraus.

by Anonymousreply 60April 9, 2019 12:42 PM

I think the fake pregnancy thing is due to everything else about MM being dodgy. It's obvious to all that she would never have even gone out with Harry without his HRH status, and she needs a child asap to cement her status. Since she has changed so many things about herself,, eg her hair, nose, breasts, the financial support she received from her father and has tried to conceal what she couldn't change, eg her family, naturally people are going to scrutinise everything she does.

by Anonymousreply 61April 9, 2019 12:49 PM

R30 One of his bon mots I remember was about the dreadful 1930s and their hardships in Britain although not for the Windsors, obviously), was "the thin-faced thirties"

You can find his diaries on Amazon: "Chips: The Diaries of Sir Henry Channon". Published 1996, Phoenix Press paperback. Is isn't cheap but the hardcover is even harder.

by Anonymousreply 62April 9, 2019 12:51 PM

Damn, the hardcover is even more expensive.

by Anonymousreply 63April 9, 2019 12:52 PM

"Whenever Diana had a boyfriend, often in the trunk or the boot of her car, Margaret would be there behind the curtains watching." "Princess Diana's former Butler also recalled the antics between the two ladies, saying: "I had to deliver men to the Princess. I had to bring them into clock court, which was immediately in front of Princess Margaret's home and all the time the curtains would twitching." "

It's the same round here, love!

Yes, begins at $40+

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 65April 9, 2019 12:56 PM

R30 - I should add that expensive as it is, only used copies are available. I decided to order myself, as they are probably worth it as a record of the Windsor era preceding the present one, and which, in some sense, laid the foundations for what we are seeing today - including the mistakes.

by Anonymousreply 66April 9, 2019 12:56 PM

R60 - If you think the surrogacy hysteria is only focused on Meghan, try going over to some of the Tumblr sites still insisting that Benedict Cumberbatch's wife is a people trafficker, a sorceress, a blackmailer, and that their two (or is three?) children were bought, birthed by surrogate, secretly adopted, and even photoshopped into the rare photos where they've been seen. Oh, and that their marriage is fraudulent, too. I'm convinced Skippy is one of them and when it became clear Cumberbatch wasn't going to divorce Sophie Hunter, simply moved on to a new target for her conspiracist fantasies: Meghan Markle.

I don't think it's any of the psychological issues you mention about conception - I think firstly that conspiracy theories are exciting and these pathetic people form close community bonds around such theories. And those theories never end, either, so it just keeps going.

Meghan Markle provides plenty of non-conspiratorial ammo for criticism without nonsense about surrogates.

by Anonymousreply 67April 9, 2019 1:05 PM

I think the more outlandish conspiracy theories (and I consider the 'she's not really pregnant and a surrogate will give birth to a baby that will then be smuggled into the hospital' one to be in this category) are basically from the people who are the other side of the Kaiser-from-Celebitchy coin. Kaiser and those like her appear literally unable to interpret anything Meghan does in a negative light. Everything must be virtuous, everything must be a reflection of her essential goodness. On the flip side the the one who are unable to see anything she does in a positive or neutral light. Everything must be proof of her essential and 100% badness.

I can't stand Meghan Markle, at all. I think she's a thirsty, attention-addicted Instagram basic who scored one of the major marriage coups of the century in snagging Harry (and honestly, good for her - he's just as bad as she is, albeit for different reasons). But I don't understand this thing where someone you dislike has to be The Most Evil Person Who Ever Evilled. It actually backfires because it just makes the people acting that way look insane, and that makes it easier to write off *everything* critical of Meghan as the work of internet nutjobs when in fact there is more than enough grist for the 'she sucks' mills out there. You can see a good example of this in that Guardian article posted above. it makes it easy to write off anyone who doesn't think she's super super great you guys as a crazy right wing nutter.

by Anonymousreply 68April 9, 2019 1:17 PM

R68 - Totally agree with your post. They do the same thing with LEAVE voters - if you don't see the EU as the nirvana of European political evolution, you're a rightwing racist bigot knuckledragging Neanderthal. If you try to point the major problems the EU is having and how badly it's handled some of those problems, and the corruption that exists in Brussels, and the dangers of handing too much power to huge bureaucracies whose primary interest is keeping themselves in business - you're wasting your breath.

If you point out Meghan's limelight hunger, her pretentiousness, her incredibly expensive clothing given she's married to the sixth in line, and the immorality of the taxpayer renovating her cottage instead of his very rich father and grandmother, her refusal to support the British fashion industry, the hideous optics of the baby shower the same week 3,500 workers in Swindon were told they were going to lose their jobs, and the hypocrisy of whining about climate change whilst taking private planes across the Atlantic . . . it doesn't matter. You simply can't criticise her without being labelled a rightwing racist.

by Anonymousreply 72April 9, 2019 1:52 PM

Why we say all these hateful things to M is because she fuels them . She fuels them with that belly cupping and relentless merching and all that PDA we have to witness between her an H . No normal woman behaves like that . And the clothes are not even nice most of the times . She looks like a sausage sometimes in her clothes . Just not suited for maternity . She has to merch even when the clothes looks like they are not a good fit for her . And all that so-called New Age stuff she and H believe in . But I think H has to play along even If he doesn’t like it . Not that he is better than his wife . If we would know all the bad stuff from him he would be trown out If the public should know .its just the tip of the iceberg .

by Anonymousreply 73April 9, 2019 2:03 PM

We have the right to be critical of them and other royals . They live from the taxpayers money and yes that give people the right to say bad things about them . If they are commonersbthey can do whatever they want to do on their own dime.

Re Harry's new woke hippie image: My 2c theory is, it's hard in some ways to be born famous and "royal," especially to St. Diana. You have a huge public identity handed to you, therefore it must be very difficult to figure out who you really are. Add the traumas of divorce and violent death, and the "superiority" of your brother, and you have a confused person. Along comes someone who exhibits all these different, exotic (or so it must have seemed to Harry) qualities: American, Los Angeles/showbiz, biracial, New Agey, older, seemingly sophisticated and intellectual, a smooth talker. Plus if this partner is pretty, pushes all your unfinished mommy business buttons, is willing to take charge, and fills your head with transcendent ideas of "changing the world" - voila! No wonder he fell. It became a way to establish a cool identity for himself, distinct from his family and aristocratic friends. And yeah, be a bit rebellious and rogue, maannnn.

Then again, I don't know these people and really have no idea. Hope it works out for them.

by Anonymousreply 106April 9, 2019 3:26 PM

Eugenie was married on Oct. 18. A day or two later it was announced that Markle was pregnant and had passed her 12 week scan. That kiddo should be out already.

As to the jewelry, I think we have all had enough evidence that a lot of what we think we know about the BRF is PR. I suspect nobody's at the wheel. Remember that relative (a Windsor, maybe?) who snuck girlfriends into Buckingham Palace and did drugs? I don't believe for a second that some police or security would be watching Meghan and whatever jewelry she was lent. It would be handed off to her at her residence and that would be the last anyone saw of it or she'd be too busy or it would be replaced. I believe a lot of what goes on with the BRF is really down to the honor system and it's ripe for exploitation by a grifter like MM and Harry.

by Anonymousreply 107April 9, 2019 3:47 PM

Girl. Should have been born this week. Reddish blonde hair. White as snow (Meghan uses self-tanner). Freckles will emerge. Unfortunate close together eyes.

by Anonymousreply 108April 9, 2019 3:48 PM

Why in God's name should Doria be "on call"? She has seen Meghan exactly once since the wedding. I don't for a second believe the "secret" visits. She wasn't invited to the shower. She has dogs. She's not going to be a fucking nanny. She didn't even want to raise her own kid, and who can blame her. She may be making a few bucks by doing minimal PR for her now, but it's Thomas Markle who created this monster of entitlement.

My latest fun game is trying to figure out what the tabloids are trying to spell out when it comes to all reporting of the Royals. I learned this lesson recently when it was pointed out that “Kate no longer speaks to best friend Rose” was code for “that cunt is shagging my husband.”

When it comes to Salad Tosser, I’m lagging a little behind. I feel the tabs (especially the Mail On Line) is constantly bordering on some bombshell story, but they cover it up with some boring asinine “Meghan wore this today” instead of “Meghan wore this same look 7 years ago when she was gobbling Hollywood dick and had several abortions.” Etc.

Help.

by Anonymousreply 111April 9, 2019 4:03 PM

R109

That’s because she was in jail. Which the papers wont report for some reason despite irrefutable proof. Also her name was changed to Doria to stop folk googling her criminal history online once Smeg started dating Harry.

by Anonymousreply 112April 9, 2019 4:07 PM

Harry wouldn't be the first person born royal who is not in the direct line of succession. MOST of them are not, and many find useful things to do. Others acquire shady associates, others become pseudo politicians and erzatz celebrity personalities living off comps from foreign governments and wealthy acquaintances. Harry didn't invent this "dilemma."

I've think there's something to the notion Harry has been pushing his own PR, particularly in the states, for a long time now. Chasing celebrity way before Meghan. It's never a coincidence when the celebrity tabloids/media which includes "lite" content morning television all begin singing from the same playbook about a celebrity. That always means somebody's PR is working overtime. For a long time now Harry has been promoted in the states as practically American. So unstuffy! So regular! Likes "guy" stuff like the military. Really feels for the common dude. His physical type - why your basic blonde, buxom beach babe! That was his type for a long time, then he bettered that, going for the millenial and trendy type fans. He became big in America and I don't think it's *just* because he was the last unmarried BRF prince. It was all along the lines of "That prince Harry, our PAL." That gif of him looking up at the camera and winking is worthy of a reality star or soap actor. It's a guy a bit infatuated with his own press, and a bit self-infatuated. Meantime there's the other side of him in the U.K. that gets less play, that he's a douche when he goes out on the town. There's the time he thwacked a polo ball right at the heads of photographers, a fellow player called him an asshole and PW had to apologize for him (this was winter of 2018). There's the stories of how he and Cressida didn't work because they were both spoiled, very young for their ages, and entitled as hell. Although I think in her case she had an exit plan from the jump. Put in two years, get name recognition, get out and leverage it to better opportunities in acting.

Harry had milked the bachelor prince and you'd think he was a superstar in the U.S. I think a lot of that was just PR. Now it was time for him to marry and both exploit William and Kate (the fab four!) and then poach all of "their" followers for themselves and outdo them. I think that was part of the plan too - use PW and DoC, then discard the Fab Four once PW and DoC were eclipsed. I just remember someone from Meghan's Mirror saying people were "migrating away from Kate" and buying into the Meghan theme. That was very curious that they saw it as a competition.

There is something nasty going on which is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Harry needs to go get help for his being the spare issues. He's luckier than most in the family department and the fact the queen, his grandad, brother and uncles have bent over backwards to coddle him and make him in equal footing with William so he doesn't feel left out.

It's so suspect to me that all this nasty stuff about will and Kate comes out the moment meghan is in the picture. Apparently William is taking legal action against the cheating rumours. Kaiser lainey and the American audience Harry are pandering to will love it, I know they think this means it's a confirmation that he did cheat. I hope this investigation blows wide open meghans links to the media that are nasty towards the Cambridges. I picture Harry making that same face towards meghan as they've accomplished hurting his brother and sister in law.

I suspect some more nasty Cambridge stories and then meghan will give birth so her and Harry look picture perfect.

I know it's stupid to get so involved and care about celebitchy and lainey but I feel a horrible sense of injustice happening and I just want the truth out about how nasty meghan and Harry have been and are the orchestrators of the sadism towards the Cambridges.

by Anonymousreply 118April 9, 2019 4:46 PM

Recently Doria's "missing few years" has been touched on , very briefly in some of Meghan's obvious PR puff pieces, as down to her being an air hostess. This has suddenly come out of nowhere. Now, I might be wrong, but not only is it highly suspect ( the DMers have been repeating the jail sentence story over and over for ages, so someone is obviously ruffled or panicking ) , BUT, in that era, flight attendants , or air hostesses as I knew them, then, had to be of a certain height. AND, this is copying the Carole Middleton background .

by Anonymousreply 119April 9, 2019 4:50 PM

Coren’s intervention into the story came when, in response to one of the Rose/Kate ‘feud’ pieces, he tweeted, “Yes, it is an affair. I haven’t read the piece but I know about the affair. Everyone knows about the affair, darling.”

It was an extraordinary allegation for a prominent newspaper staff writer to make on Twitter and it was swiftly deleted.

The suggestion, hotly denied by the palace, that William was in some kind of relationship with another woman, has, however, become a widely traded piece of dinner party gossip at British society gatherings in recent months.

by Anonymousreply 120April 9, 2019 5:04 PM

Doria's shady background has been glossed over while Thomas' has been magnified; same thing with their parenting, Doria's involvement over-stated while Thomas' has been erased. She's filed for bankruptcy and also has evictions on her record, yet she's been elevated to a supermom and model citizen. Also suspicious is that there are periods of her life, personal/ professional, that's unaccounted for and thereby ripe for discussion. Why was she missing in her Meghan's formative years? Why was Meghan living with her dad full-time, with dad having to take her to his work after she'd finished her school day, Doria wasn't available to babysit her own daughter for short after-school hours? She wasn't working at that time, where was she? At some hippie commune forgetting about her family and trying to find herself? In jail? Nobody knows and both she and Meghan aren't saying shit. The fact that she got a degree in social work doesn't say shit either, you can be certified LCSW and still have a criminal record, it doesn't have the same standards as nurses, physicians, etc...

by Anonymousreply 121April 9, 2019 5:10 PM

by Anonymousreply 124April 9, 2019 5:27 PM

I wonder, though, if there is truth to the rumors about Will having an affair. Getting his lawyers involved seems like a drastic measure when the initial story was about a vague turf war between Kate and Rose.

Her vag will be huge and since she's older, it ain't gonna snap back to a young tight pussy, it will be loose as fuck and Harry's bang average cock won't be able to come inside since it's like throwing a hotdog down an alley. He will be seeking young, tight pussies.

R121, I think Doria was in a cult/commune. I’m not sure that she could fudge a years-long incarceration. It’s possible, though.

I’m also intrigued by the rumor of an annulled marriage to Joseph Goldberg-Giuliano. Perhaps they were not married, but were they in a relationship? He looks like a she. Not at all what I’d picture MM going for.

by Anonymousreply 131April 9, 2019 6:22 PM

I am REALLY intrigued as to who, how and why is zipping Samantha and Thomas Jnr’s mouth...not to mention their extended hick relataives who could tell us in a heartbeat what Thomas Snr and Doria’’s deal is. Are they ALL being paid off? How much and by WHO? Queen’s coffers?

Smeg is really the gift that keeps giving. Not only is her own situation B List Hollywood smut, but her family are all total grifters too. I also wish we could find out more about Thomas Markle’s “lottery win” (yeah right - lottery win) that isn’t registered with California State and his “locked room” that Thom Jnr earlier on kept alluding to.....

R131 unless the rumors that Meghan prefers shes has anything to it. After all she's joined at the hip to Jessica Mulroney, who is in a beard marriage - or at least her husband is at least bi. Time of Birth: First thing in the morning so Bean gave have the whole day of press and publicity devoted to her.

Hair color: Gingerish

Eye color: whatever Dimwit's eye color is

Name(s): Boy: Xarles Philip Henry, Girl: Margaret Alexandra Diana

Lady Hermione Alice Diana Mountbatten-Windsor will be born on May 1, 2019 at 7:35 pm. She will have dark hair and eyes, light olive skin and a wonky sloped nose. Freckles will appear at a later day. She will weigh 7 lbs. 7 oz. and be 19" long.

Since her mother cradled her bump far longer than necessary, this baby will rebel and exhibit behavior far from Zen-like peace. She will have colic, be very fussy and keep everyone up at night at Froggy Holler. Her teenage and early adult years will be spent hellraising - smoking, drinking, whoring and sporting as many hair colors and tattoos as humanely possible. I do not know what lies in store for her after her mid-twenties as my crystal ball suddenly died while I was looking for clues and is now at the repair shop.

by Anonymousreply 146April 9, 2019 7:22 PM

^^^No way will the Duchess of Frogmore allow this child to be born in the evening depriving her the instant gratification of an entire, same day of press coverage. I say 6:55 a.m. so the news can be broken and repeated endlessly on the morning shows and news, then the noon news and afternoon talk shows, then the evening news and then all the late night shows and then another full day of coverage the next day. No way would the Duchess of Narcissism settle for only a half day of coverage on day of.

I think she would aggressively try for the Queen's birthday as she fancies herself just as important. She'll want to do photo ops on Q's birthday after she's passed on exhalting her spawn in memory of her.

Gorata (means "will"). Botshelo (means "friendly, approachable" and can be shortened to Shelo which is fucking perfect for Smegs and it's also "Shiloh" adjacent a/k/a Brangelina adjacent) Keeya (Garden flower).

by Anonymousreply 159April 9, 2019 8:28 PM

Though possibly more trendy than any of us would like.

What if Rose is pregnant with William's child? The scandal.

by Anonymousreply 161April 9, 2019 8:37 PM

Will appears to have (or had) an ongoing relationship with Rose. My understanding of elite aristo circles is that open marriages are very common. And that the participants don't even bother to hide their actions too much and the affairs are open secrets.

It's a very OTT reaction from him and the Royals. IMO, he's trying to prevent the British from "printing stories about the rumors in the international press."

by Anonymousreply 162April 9, 2019 8:41 PM

R165 No way can Meghan do a yoga pose like that. All of her yoga poses that I've seen show her to be not very flexible. Most of the ones where she's trying to show how flexible she is, she's holding on to/ leaning on something and she's not even fully extended where she should be. Her hips and legs don't indicate flexibility at all, and yes someone with training can easily tell. She's all for show and is able to fool people who don't know any better (like Harry who was probably impressed).

by Anonymousreply 185April 9, 2019 10:07 PM

R180 - I believe that sapphire was a personal piece of the Queen Mother, who left her entire estate to her daughter except for some minor bequests. It's not part of the Crown Estate or Crown Jewels - it belongs to the Queen and she can give it to anyone she likes.

by Anonymousreply 186April 9, 2019 10:08 PM

Didn't Diana have her own personal jewelry? The Queen could not deny Harry's wife any of those pieces.

by Anonymousreply 187April 9, 2019 10:10 PM

R183 - Yes, but THEN they stitch it back up and the underlying purpose of that is to prevent the stretching out of the vagina. It used to be a standard procedure precisely so they could do some tightening as part of the birth, but in the last few decades it's slipped back to recommended only during difficult births - tagged as a misogynist practice to benefit male sexual pleasure.

by Anonymousreply 188April 9, 2019 10:11 PM

^^^LOL yeah that may be true.

R 188 Episiotomies is a surgical procedure in the same light as surgery being "controlled trauma" as one surgeon I used to work for had told me. What happens after episiotomies is that you have to repair the damage done by cutting women up. Sometimes the repair isn't successful and women can and do have problems with urinary and fecal incontinence after episiotomies as well as lacerations from natural childbirth. Episiotomies are becoming somewhat controversial today because in the past, many obstetricians would automatically cut women open just so they can still make the golf tee time. Reality is that women risk lacerations naturally or through episiotomies. Take your poison if you're one of the unlucky ones.

by Anonymousreply 189April 9, 2019 10:13 PM

yes, they may stitch her up after vag birth but the inside is all stretched out and loose...why do you think divorced men go after young pussies? And William is probably bored with Kate's loose cunt now that she has squeezed out 3 kids.

R185 - Diana left her personal jewellery to her two sons, with the engagement ring earmarked for the first one to become engaged. William had to go ask Harry if he could use it for Kate. Whether or not she actually divvied the pieces up for each son, or they can both dip in at will for their wives, is unknown. But the Queen has nothing to say about it, that loot belongs solely to William and Harry.

Meghan might have had a shot at the Spencer tiara, but that went to the Spencer family. And Earl Spencer, charmer that he is alleged to be, would probably sell it before he let Meghan Markle wear it.

by Anonymousreply 195April 9, 2019 10:22 PM

R2 My cousins are 25% black and look nothing like Tamra Mowery's children. They look white.

by Anonymousreply 196April 9, 2019 10:23 PM

I've heard new daddies talk about how sex isn't the same.

If the pussies snap back then why do women get their pussies fixed up like Jada pinket smith? She said she had it tighten up like a 16 year old's. She's only had 2 kids. Pussies stretch out over time and age.

by Anonymousreply 197April 9, 2019 10:28 PM

I'm an octoroon (1/8 black), and I have always been "white". I grew up in a small southern town, so I didn't even know about it until sometime in the 90s. Times have changed, and I am buttering my palm for that reparations check.

by Anonymousreply 198April 9, 2019 10:30 PM

R169: please note that the majority of mainstream newspaper columnists branding Meghan haters as “racist” are WHITE WOMEN.

For all their “wokeness,” I imagine the staffs of these media outlets (and shitty PR firms like Sunshine Sachs) are as pasty white as Sarah Latham herself.

Does anyone actually believe they practice what they preach when it comes hiring and promoting people?

by Anonymousreply 201April 9, 2019 10:38 PM

^^^That HuffPo staff photo is smarmy and indicative of woke White women. My experience is that the White woke crowd, specifically White women, are some of the most vocal about accusing other people of racism. But when it comes to their own social circles, they tend to be very White. When they do have non-White friends, it's often biracial or non-White people who subscribe to the exact same p.c. mindset. If you happen to be non-White/ biracial AND don't conform to SJW ethos or victim mentality, they turn on you by labeling you a traitor to your race/ culture. It's the worst sort of patronizing shit.

Reason I know of this sort of behavior and thinking is because I'm biracial but don't look obviously so. If I don't mention that I'm half Taiwanese/ White, people don't always know. It's when I do that some people say "ohh...yeah I can see that". I have light brown hair and honey-brown eyes, pale skin. Sometimes I'll hear so-called woke White people say racist shit when they think they're among White folks because they think I'm white. But then again I'm the wrong half of racial/ ethnic minority, they much prefer Black/ White biracial even if it's someone like Meghan who strives to be White and only dates/ marries White, and has plastic surgery/ beauty procedures to appear White.

by Anonymousreply 202April 9, 2019 11:04 PM

Was Harry really rejected so may times before he "settled" for Markle? I cannot imagine that she likes being anything but first choice.

Funny, how the press made out like his exes were so torn up that he married Markle and not them.

by Anonymousreply 203April 9, 2019 11:11 PM

So do we believe wills been having an affair? I don't care (seeing what the world and so called showbiz world is like and its not like him and Harry were raised with any morality) as long as Kates aware and gets her own on the side. If they're OK with this arrangement. My issue is that it seems released by me gain and pussy whipped to ruin the Cambridge brand and make the Sussex brand look good. That's why I hop its not true and will and Kate become more popular and the scheming backfires spectacularly and publicly in megains face.

by Anonymousreply 204April 9, 2019 11:31 PM

R195 The Spencer Tiara didn’t go to the Spencer family - it was always there. It was never Diana’s.

Diana just got to wear it for her wedding, as did both her sisters for theirs, and borrowed it on occasion from her father and then her brother, as it has always been the property of the current Earl Spencer.

That’s how family tiaras work in the aristocracy.

by Anonymousreply 205April 9, 2019 11:38 PM

R204

I believe it. However, these high rank aristo circles esp BRF inner core, must have a spoken or unspoken agreement about extra martial affairs. I imagine as long as he plays family man, takes care of fam biz and be discreet. I think once tongues start waging outside is when all bets are off for the wife. Embarassment level needs to be nipped and affair stopped if it gets out of hand.

by Anonymousreply 206April 9, 2019 11:42 PM

The vagina is elastic and muscular. Women can exercise their pelvic floor muscles (“doing Kegels”) and “keep it tight”. Muscles can become stronger or aptrophy, depending on how much they’re exercised. The amount of sex and the number of births a woman has isn’t a reliable predictor of “tightness”.

It varies, of course, but if a woman is truly comfortable and prepared for the baby to crown, tearing (or episiotomies) is not inevitable. Doctors used to add an extra stitch to make it tighter for the husband but it is often uncomfortable for the woman. (But who cares, right, r197?).

I don’t expect gay men to really give a shit, because they don’t experience vaginas much. But the ignorance is pretty gross and maybe someone will learn something.

by Anonymousreply 207April 9, 2019 11:43 PM

Harry always wanted to end up with a celebrity. In his warped mind, he has made himself believe that he has. Deep down inside, though, he knows she's z-list at best.

by Anonymousreply 208April 9, 2019 11:49 PM

Will also got his lawyers involved when the paps with the telephoto lenses got him and Kate sunbathing on the balcony of his cousin's place in Provence. And it could be a warning shot not to put all of Meghan's bullshit on blast.

by Anonymousreply 209April 10, 2019 12:01 AM

And people wonder where the surrogacy rumors come from. It's not the land of tin hats. This woman was wearing maternity clothing when her supposed sprog was the actual size of a pumpkin seed. She had to wear a maternity coat back in October at Eugenie's wedding, and she's still hasn't had the baby. The bump has changed sizes, shapes, been lumpy, had weird configurations, creased in the middle and rocked from side to side. It disappears when she does a deep knee bend with her knees and heels together - her six inch heels. If the truth was told when they announced, she should have had the baby now. A mother her age is more likely to be early than late.

Now she's floating that she's going to have the baby at home, away from "the fishbowl" because as a royal of course there's going to be crowds of strangers peering in the window. No such thing as a private entrance or exit or private medical team.

How much extra time can a "home birth" where they want to "wait" to reveal pictures or show up in person buy Meghan and Harry? How long can they wait? Spin it as protecting the baby and the mother daughter bond, talk about how Harry is moved to tears being around his child and has gifted Meg with (make up the price tag - but it's all PRICELESS) in gratitude, how he feels whole for the first time. Cue cryptic holy-ish serene posts on her insta. Drop blinds that Doria has "secretly" been to see the baby as have all the royals. Baby is absolutely beautiful. We're getting into autumn 2019 now and no member of the public or media has actually SEEN the kid, not even a picture, except for scoobie do. How long do you think she can make that phase last?

by Anonymousreply 210April 10, 2019 12:09 AM

The “fishbowl” claim made me laugh, like she’d be sharing a room and a shower room with three other women. She’s a clown.

by Anonymousreply 211April 10, 2019 12:19 AM

The surrogate will have the babies in Italy and Amal will sneak the babies in in some over sized designer $$$ purse within 8-12 hours of their birth. No red flags regarding Amal's visit as she is a close and dear friend, she did host MEghan's baby shower and lent her a private plane, she's just so excited to be the first to visit....

Just having some fun before anyone gets all up in arms about tinfoil hats and surrogacy conspiracy theories.

by Anonymousreply 212April 10, 2019 12:22 AM

I'm not apologizing for "conspiracy theories" - this bitch is capable of anything, Harry's been rogue for a long time and I think the whole "Protocol demands this" and the royal LAW says that is a load of PR bullshit. Lizzie is hands off. She might like it if her royal gynos paid a visit to the mum but if mum says sod off all Lizzie's got as a come back is "No tiaras for you!" I doubt even most of the BRF has a clue what is really going on with Meg's pregnancy but 10-1 many of Harry's former friends/former staff/former associates are taking bets. Plenty of basic bitches have tried this scam too.

What makes this chick hot between the legs is having people think she's super important. To her that means security. She would roll up to the Lindo Wing with more security than Kate because of "global interest" (her PR would pretend only the U.K. was interested in Kate's babies). She would have her security treat all the other hospital staff and mums like shit. She'd have people relocated. She'd demand special food from the outside. If there's a viable no matured xygot under there, that's how it would go down and more.

This - having it at froggy cottage (not Windsor as they like to call it even if it's on the grounds) that still has missing roof tiles cause no need for a silly hospital is as big a tell as it gets. I bet she does it. And then I bet we see no baby. And on it wil go.

by Anonymousreply 213April 10, 2019 12:35 AM

While mum and papa are "resting" at "Windsor" and "bonding" as a family, and as we are told Meghan is "very firm" and "Will not be rushed into anything she doesn't think is good for the baby", all manner of healers, atmospherians, shamans and spiritualists will be reported as visiting, bearing myrrh and frankincense. We will hear that childbirth has made Meghan "even more beautiful" and that she seems to "radiate from within." Everything with the baby is easy. So we'll get a lot of that. Then we'll hear that while everyone assumed the Sussexes were cocooning strictly at home, the Cooneys (or Oprah) whisked them off to a luxury vacation for three in the Maldives/Seychelles/Bali/The Cook Islands. Wouldn't be surprised if bambino de Sussex has a little brother or sister along soon.

Trying to decide if a delay in naming said moonbump will correspond with delay in anyone actually sighting the wee bairn.

by Anonymousreply 214April 10, 2019 12:45 AM

R213 It’s not the “royal law” you fool....it’s THE LAW.

As previously stated, it has nothing to do with what Markle is or isn’t capable of...but whether she could induce every single professional to risk imprisonment to keep her secret.

Of course she couldn’t. She couldn’t even keep “tiaragate” quiet.

Just go away with your tedious, boring nonsense. Every time you post you embarrass yourself.

by Anonymousreply 215April 10, 2019 12:50 AM

And what in earth is this crap about “ missing roof tiles”?

Just shut up.

by Anonymousreply 216April 10, 2019 12:52 AM

I'm actually not among those who believe she isn't pregnant. I think she is pregnant but that it's not impossible that she's been padding as well for the attention. BUT, when I heard she was shunning the best OBGYN's the world have to offer, that had me raising an eyebrow.....

....and NOW to hear she is shunning a hospital altogether and opting - at her age - for a far more risky "homebirth"?? And all, ostensibly, in order to "avoid the fishbowl" of the perfectly private entrance/exit and VIP suite used in total secrecy (and only revealed after the birth) by Sophie?

This is beginning to look genuinely strange.

by Anonymousreply 217April 10, 2019 12:58 AM

Uh-huh.

And you forgot that she is a preeminent attention whore, voluntarily forgoing attention.

Her makeup guy was just over to visit but she shuns the royal doctors (who saved the life of Sophie and her daughter). Nothing normal about any of it, for a regular person, or her.

by Anonymousreply 218April 10, 2019 1:13 AM

Or that a French company hiring a British woman to design its line = supporting the fashion industry in the U.K.

[quote] She would have her security treat all the other hospital staff and mums like shit.

The only security that Sparkle and Dim have is not theirs, but government security because of the Royal Family. Their loyalty would not be to Sparkle and Dim and they would not cover up any shenanigans.

I don't like or trust Sparkle at all. As to her pregnancy or not ....whatever. The last I heard was that the Royal Doctors would be on hand for the birth, just in case. IMO, they along with the security (that's RF security) will also be there to be sure the baby pops out of Sparkle.

Clearly there was some stupid stuff going on with her bump, shifting, changing size, etc. Whatever it means - I don't really care. She's a phony and not a very talented one, so, the whole bump patting, inflating and deflating bump, etc. is just a amusing indication of her ineptitude .

The baby has my deep sympathy. Perhaps Harry will retrieve his balls from Sparkle's purse and insist on a good nanny for his child. Perhaps. But it seems unlikely given past events.

by Anonymousreply 248April 10, 2019 3:26 AM

by Anonymousreply 257April 10, 2019 4:19 AM

R250 You’re either R237 or you’re just as stupid. “The Commonwealth” and Britain are separate entities.

Sparkle wearing a Camilla and Mark caftan in Australia benefited the economy of Great Britain not one bit. And almost certainly had the same impact in Australia as Camilla and Mark surely chucked that way too long, inappropriately slit to the upper thigh caftan to Jessicash Mulroney for Sparkle to wear on Bondi Beach. I doubt that Aussie shoppers stormed the Camilla & Mark boutique to snap up the same look.

I love how so many of the posters on these threads have just discovered “The Commonwealth” but have NFI what it is!

by Anonymousreply 258April 10, 2019 4:23 AM

Sparkle merching a dress from an Australian designer has no impact on the English economy. You have to trust me on this. Or keep sounding stupid - over to you.

I predict the wee bairn will arrive this week. Tomorrow (Wed) even. I doubt though, that we'll hear about the birth until a full day after it happens. There has been nothing 'traditional' or normal about anything re Haz & Sparks since they wed.

by Anonymousreply 262April 10, 2019 4:30 AM

Hers a little primer for the fraus who have invaded DL and who have latched onto the Commonwealth as a new thing but wouldn’t know the Commonwealth if it bit them on the arse:

The UK is The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is England, Scotland and Wales. England, Scotland and Wales are separate countries with the one Sovereign - currently Queen Elizabeth II (aka “Betty”, “Liz” and “Her Royal Majesty” to the clueless).

Sincere apologies to my Northern Ireland and British friends but if I try to describe the status of Northern Ireland my head will explode and most fraus will glaze over and stop reading, if they haven’t already. Fraus - just fucking Google it.

The Commonwealth is a political grouping mostly comprising former British colonies as well as the countries of Britain, most of which have reached independence and most of which have chosen to remain in the Commonwealth. Some, but definitely the minority, have retained the Sovereign as Head of State. The majority are republics. The current Head of the Commonwealth is Queen Elizabeth II. The next Head of the Commonwealth is the current Prince of Wales, because the Queen asked the Commonwealth if that would be ok and they didn’t want to hurt her feelings by saying “no”. The Commonwealth countries all get together every couple of years to whinge about our former colonial masters and then go and have a beer with them. It’s a completely idiosyncratic organisation which is kind of cool because it’s based on history, language and a strange affection. And because the USA isn’t in it.

But that’s about the extent of it. England and Australia are no more the same country than Spain and Argentina, despite traditional ties of language and history. Sparkle wearing a skirt designed by a Kiwi or South African isn’t benefiting the English economy any more than her wearing Victoria Beckham tops up the Canadian or Australian coffers.

Got it? Probably not. Carry on, then...

by Anonymousreply 263April 10, 2019 4:51 AM

Oh, and R250 - you said that Theia is Irish, which according to their website is their origin although now based in New York City.

You should try dropping into your local Irish pub and tell them that Ireland is part of Britain, or England, or the Commonwealth, or whatever you are trying to say. Irish people just love hearing stuff like that!

by Anonymousreply 264April 10, 2019 5:00 AM

You guys are all idiots. Meghan's new gig is to promote the Commonwealth. Queen Elizabeth is the sovereign of the COMMONWEALTH. Northern Ireland is part of Great Britain.

Harry and Meghan traveled to the Republic of Ireland and Harry gave a great speech .

Good God, people!

I made the designer list to show the moron(s) who keeps saying Meghan does nothing for English designers. She does and does for Commonwealth countries which is her job. The list took 5 minutes. Less time than the copious posts robo-posted about how she merches and doesn't support English fashion.

by Anonymousreply 265April 10, 2019 5:33 AM

R264 I'm Irish on both sides, you dunce. I know full well what England did to my ancestors.

by Anonymousreply 266April 10, 2019 5:34 AM

R264 You are wrong. The founder and designer of Theia is Don O'Neil. He is IRISH.

by Anonymousreply 267April 10, 2019 5:37 AM

No R267 I’m not - the founder of Theia is from Kerry which is part of the Republic of Ireland. It has nothing to do with the Commonwealth other than having been part of it prior to independence.

Try reading and comprehending before making yourself look stupid.

by Anonymousreply 268April 10, 2019 5:40 AM

Yes R264, I’m sure you are. I’m of Irish descent myself, also on both sides. But even if I wasn’t, a basic understanding of history would show that the Republic of Ireland is not part of the Commonwealth.

If there’s a dunce here, it’s not me.

Now go pop on your curly green wig and get ready to trash yourself in the St Patrick’s Day parade in NYC. Or read up on your history before having a meltdown at being called on your stupidity.

by Anonymousreply 269April 10, 2019 5:44 AM

R265 the Irish Republic is not part of the Commonwealth. Meghan gracing it with her slutty presence doesn’t change that.

by Anonymousreply 270April 10, 2019 5:46 AM

Will is awful at PR. Sending the fire trucks for a little bit of smoke, makes it look like a forest fire. Whatever happened to never explain never complain?

by Anonymousreply 271April 10, 2019 5:51 AM

r137, r228 - I love SohoBébé®

Do trademark it before Meghan and SohoHouse introduce a new lux baby line by that name, with later introductions of lower price points available at Target's exclusive SohoBébé® Everyday Basics and Amazon SohoBébé® Prime.

Of course these need be not exclusive contracts allowing SohoBébé® to grace the ads of United Colors of Benneton, and other top ad opportunities until it becomes the face of Johnson & Johnson's baby product and is named honorary UN Global Ambassador for Babies.

by Anonymousreply 272April 10, 2019 5:56 AM

R265 Given your Irish heritage I’m surprised that you would show such disrespect to your forebears than to cite Sparkle’s wearing of an Irish designer in the Republic of Ireland as an example of her supporting Commonwealth (or English? I’m still not following your thought processes here) designers.

The Republic of Ireland is no more a part of the Commonwealth than is the USA. Does Sparkle support Commonwealth designers when she’s wearing Ralph Lauren or Carolina Herrera? No, she doesn’t. It’s not a complex concept to grasp. For most people, I mean.

by Anonymousreply 273April 10, 2019 6:05 AM

Fuck off, R265.

It’s blatantly obvious that she isn’t interested in supporting BRITISH fashion, and trying to pretend she’s deliberately wearing Commonwealth designers instead is an embarrassing excuse.

And her “job”, by the way, is to support Harry while he supports HM. Same with all the married-ins. I know she’s too arrogant and up herself to understand that, but you should try,

by Anonymousreply 274April 10, 2019 7:30 AM

Its very difficult to merch with British fashion designers whom most are located in London . That’s why she uses most of the time French or American or Canadian designers .

by Anonymousreply 275April 10, 2019 8:08 AM

R265 - “Sovereign of the Commonwealth”? There is no such thing. Don’t make stuff up, it makes you look stupid.

The Queen is Head of the Commonwealth - it isn’t an hereditary position. The Commonwealth is not a monarchy. It just happens to have a Monarch as its current Head. The next Head is expected to be The Prince of Wales by agreement of its membership at the request of the Queen at the last Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Malta. Of course that was pretty much a foregone conclusion but there is nothing to say that it couldn’t be Joe Bloggs from Wagga Wagga.

Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island, its not part of Great Britain, hence the distinction in the name of the UK. What I did say is that its status is complex and is considered a country, province or region depending on the political affiliation or nationality of the person doing the describing. It’s a highly political and emotional issue - try reading up on the Good Friday Agreement if you want to learn something instead of just mouthing off.

Or stick to making lists of ugly ill-fitting and expensive clothing - that seems to be more your thing.

As well as making me nauseous, The Daily Mail 'Article' / Sara Latham Press Release about Me Gain's 'home birth plan' put me in mind of another suspicious royal birth. Scrolling back through the mists of time to the unfortunate House Of Stuart's time on the throne , I give you :

The Warming Pan Incident " At any other time, the birth of a healthy prince would have been cause for celebration, but this time it was a calamity. The boy’s Italian mother and Catholic father would ensure the prince was brought up in the Catholic Church. England was as good as back in the Roman fold if something was not done and done quickly. And out of necessity and elaborate theory was born. Rumors ran wild that Mary of Modena had not give birth to a healthy boy, but to a stillborn child. Then who was the new prince in the nursery? A imposter smuggled in from a common mother in a warming pan....."

To R272's list, I'd like to add SohoBébé x Dick Wiltt – a saggy, baggy, frumpy range of nannywear designed by Dick Wiltt, former cashier at Kim Davis's favorite Kentucky Salvation Army. SohoBébé x Dick Wiltt's soul-sucking styles ensure that Mummy maintains her iron grip on the marriage so that you can rest easy!

Haven't we all wished for an uneventful babyhood being cared for by an unthreatening army of nannies with knotty calves, stretch-marked forearms, and hair-sprouting moles only to have Daddy surprise Mummy with a 19-year-old lululemon-clad au pair named Majken? Sure, we all want to learn Swedish....later.

When all one wants to do is sleep, suck, shit, and occasionally soothe one's ravaged gums with a slice of frozen avocado, the endless shrieking, accusations, phone-grabbing, and kettlebell throwing only serve to exhaust. But we at SohoBébé x Dick Wiltt are here to help!

PS Just between you and me, the clashing cacophony of colours and patterns is the only visual stimulation you're going to get in that monochrome cell they call your nursery. But, shhhh, don't tell Mummy I said that.

R276 Here - to correct myself, the decision to endorse the Prince of Wales as the next Head of the Commonwealth happened at the last CHOGM in London in 2018, not in Malta, which was the previous CHOGM in 2016.

I’d like to clarify for those who aren’t familiar : Great Britain is an island. It is the largest island in an archipelago of approx. 1600 islands. The name Britain is a Romanization of an older Brythonic name. The Great part refers to it being the largest island. Ptolemy referred to the largest island as megale Bretannia and the second largest island (Ireland) as mikra Bretannia, literally “little Britain”. This is the origin of the geographic name.

The island of Great Britain is where the countries of England, Scotland and Wales are located. The United Kingdom is those three countries + Northern Ireland, which is located on the northern part of the smaller island next door.

The terms Britain, England and UK are not interchangeable because they mean different things. The three countries on the island of Great Britain are all British *as well as* being Scottish or English or Welsh.

TL;DR I doubt Megs has any understanding of how this works or why.

I admit to being a bit baffled - what actions of HRH indicate good mental health? His rumors of addictions? His sowing dissent in his family? His cutting off longtime friends? His chasing of celebrity? His marrying of an epic narcissist?

by Anonymousreply 290April 10, 2019 11:30 AM

Wasn't The Royal Foundation Catherine's idea? Formed in part as a nod towards Harry's mental health? Sparkle is completely ignoring the work of The Royal Foundation and is going to act as though she invented this type of charitable work. I guess Oprah has shares in Apple TV?

M is sooo jealous of Kate and the fact that she is beautiful with lush brown hair , a good figure and good legs . All what she isn’t . Also Kate is married to the future heir of the throne and has 3 wonderful kids . If she could kill Kate without any prosecution Kate was already dead believe me . Harry was her means to money and status and to sneak her way into the BRF . Its Wills who will have the keys to the kingdom not Harry .

by Anonymousreply 311April 10, 2019 12:53 PM

How far is the Queen going to let this go? Or Charles? This is becoming a three-ring circus.

by Anonymousreply 312April 10, 2019 12:56 PM

If I was William or Kate I would be livid. Other than occasionally being called workshy, they have fulfilled their roles and supported the monarchy. Now the BRF is letting Harry and Meghan behave like lunatics. I hope they have some end game for this and are not just putting their heads in the sand.

by Anonymousreply 313April 10, 2019 12:59 PM

What started out as a potentially happy union and quickly turned into a joke, and then a carcrash, is actually getting more and more serious by the moment. This suddenly feels like it's taken a serious turn for the worse in that if the monarchy is ever seen to be another form of celebrity, the tax payers will positively revolt to stop paying. And in this instance, Leftist anti-monarchists of old will be joined with traditional royalists who simply can't bear seeing what Harry and Meghan are doing. I see this development as far more serious than just a 'dumb idea by the Harkles'. This brings them into high celebrity world - I mean - we ALL know they'll win an Emmy no matter how crappy the series is or isn't, if only just to get Harry over to Hollywood for the meet-and-greets with royalty-hungry celebrities. And Meghan will give most of the acceptance speech, and lots of interviews and magazine covers and tv promotion for the series and poof- a few years from now they'll be thought of as celebrities first, Royals second, have loads of photos with celebrities, be friends with celebrities, the lot.

And that's how the mystique suddenly will suddenly disappear, in an instant, and there will be no EVER getting it back again. This is why the RF has been so careful up to now about separating themselves from being seen as celebrities. Because no Briton wants to pay a penny of tax to support a fucking celebrity. Why would they?

by Anonymousreply 314April 10, 2019 12:59 PM

R247 - The head of the design house may be British, but the fashion house itself is not located in Britain and neither British workers not the British economy gets the boost. Her go-tos are Dior, Givenchy, Lauren, and de la Renta. That isn't supporting the British fashion industry. She weard British fashion occasionally but overwhelmingly her choices have been American and European designers, particularly at the higher end. And as other posters have pointed out, they often look as if they have been leant by the designer and thus are not fitted properly. The notorious de la Renta "tablecloth" dress she wore to the Spencer wedding cost nearly $10,000. She did Britain a favour with very cheap hat. She looked so awful in the dress that de la Renta took the photos of her in it they put up quickly, a few hours later when the rest of the world howled with laughter at the way she looked.

The fact is, Meghan Markle is married to the sixth in line and doesn't see why she shouldn't be treated the way the wife of the future King is treasted. No taxpayer in the UK should have shelled out a penny to renovate her house, given how rich her father in law and grandmother in law are in their own right.

Some of the blame for this undoubtedly rests on the shoulders of Charles and the Queen for shrugging their shoulders and keeping their own money whilst spending ours on people like Harry and Meghan. But some of the blame has to go to those two hypocrites thinking that the "work" they do justifies taking three million pounds from us to live in what they probably see as inadequate to their status and wonderfulness.

As they say, the mills of the gods grind exceeing slow but exceeding fine.

Meghan and Harry will inevitably overreach themselves at some point. We'll see what happens then.

by Anonymousreply 315April 10, 2019 1:02 PM

Exactly, r314. The BRF probably thought if they sidelined the Sussexes to Frogmore with few patronages the hysteria would die down. Unfortunately, there will always be some opportunistic celebrity willing to take advantage of their notoriety. They will always find a way to be in the spotlight and denigrate the BRF. As complicated as the process might be, the BRF really needs to demand that Harry renounce his position. It will only continue to get worse. It will never die down.

by Anonymousreply 316April 10, 2019 1:05 PM

They've already overreached themselves ten-fold and they haven't even been married a year. They have made it clear that they do not represent the monarchy, they represent themselves. They need to go, stat.

by Anonymousreply 317April 10, 2019 1:08 PM

R316 - It's not a complicated process, Edward VIII got it done in no time. He signs something waiving his rights to the succession, the Queen submits the instrument to Parliament, which of course will pass it. Done. The complicated part is persuading Harry to do so, which, of course, he will refuse to do. And as this leaks out, as it inevitably will, the screams of racist classist BRF will rise, and it will all backfire. Their only real option is to make the Sussexes' lives quietly miserable inside the family, failing to invite them to big occasions, cutting back on patronates and extra funds, in hopes that Harry will jump instead of being pushed.

I doubt it will work. Meghan Markle married Harry to gain a foothold in A-list celebrity and then to build her own brand around it, dragging Harry along with her. He was perfect for the job: a disgruntled younger brother who denies but is actually filled with resentment as his brother gains each year in importance, while he himself recedes. I think he saw Meghan's drive and ideas as a way to get as much or more limelight than his brother, and strike out on his own.

I have some sympathy with the "striking out on his own" bit, the problem is, he also wants to retain the perks and privileges of the very institution he wants to stick two fingers up to.

The BRF has cast itself, in the case of the Sussexes, as Chamberlain at Munich. They thought that appeasement of Harry's really bad choice would work. They should have told him NO then. The more you give people like Meghan, the more she'll take, and Harry is learning rapidly at her side.

Now, they have no more options. She'll do whatever she likes, and so will Harry. So she won't get Apt. 1 in KP. So she won't get to wear an emerald tiara. So her children won't be HRHs. She'll still use them for all she's worth to get what she's always wanted, egging Harry along as she does so.

by Anonymousreply 318April 10, 2019 1:21 PM

R317 - It won't happen. It's too late. That ship has sailed, especially with the arrival of a child. The BRF missed their chance because they were afraid of confrontation and Harry's fury and of being made to look like bigots. They made the bed, and they will sleep in it. The only thing that could really save them now is Charles unexpectedly dying before the Queen. With William and Kate the new Wales's, and no Charles to provide a barrier, the Sussexes will feel the wrath of the new Prince of Wales. No more supplements from the Duchy of Cornwall, no invitations to major state occasions except maybe Trooping the Colour, no contact between the Sussex kids and their royal couusins, and refusal to grant further patronages. Harry will be richer on Charles's death, as he and William will come in for additional large trusts whilst the rest remains invested, but that's it.

The only other possible route is a major scandal that makes it possible for the Queen to demand that they remove themselves from the royal scene. And as we know, if it exists it hasn't been found, or whoever has it refuses to release it, or it doesn't exist, or hasn't developed yet.

Absent those two paths, put your dreams of the BRF shoving the Sussex boat out to America where it belongs, away. It's too late.

by Anonymousreply 319April 10, 2019 1:30 PM

Thank you for the explanation, r318. I suppose they only have themselves to blame for they created the monster he has become. If I were them, I would either pay him to leave quietly or come out guns blazing. Coke use, nazi uniform retread, whatever...

by Anonymousreply 320April 10, 2019 1:31 PM

No one is kicking them out. The wild card in the situation is their relationship with each other.

by Anonymousreply 321April 10, 2019 1:40 PM

Are the brf just hoping that they do too much and just destroy themselves?

by Anonymousreply 322April 10, 2019 1:45 PM

The BRF has always worked to avoid scandal, and you think your scenario is possible r318? The family is still experiencing PTSD from The Duke of Windsor and Diana. They are not hoping MM and Harry destroy themselves, they’ll try and bury any and every controversy.

by Anonymousreply 325April 10, 2019 1:53 PM

I initially thought their marriage would implode fairly quickly, too. However, this is no love marriage. Meghan married Harry to achieve a certain level of fame and she seemingly plays him like a fiddle. Their marriage will not implode until she finds a better deal - or - thinks she can maintain that level of fame without Harry. As it stands, she has no reason to leave anytime soon because they keep finding ways to keep their names in the press.

by Anonymousreply 326April 10, 2019 1:57 PM

So, Oprah is on Gayle's morning show talking about the project...and how "kind" Meghan is. They've spent a lot of time together in secret meetings working on the project. First Clooney, now Oprah building her up in the press.

by Anonymousreply 327April 10, 2019 1:59 PM

I'm going to add my comments on the latest news, and fair warning, they're going to be in-depth. The creation and launch of the Sussex Insta, and now the latest announcement of the Oprah production partnership is the catalyst for this commentary. If anyone is going to ask me if I'm any of the following:

- over-invested - bored - fat - a frau - in possession of too much free time - extremely stupid

Let me just answer yes to all of the above to get those questions out of the way.

Another disclaimer: none of my comments should be considered personal. My personal thoughts on this entire situation are basically: BRING IT THE FUCK ON, HAZBEAN. This is the best kind of entertainment - real, but without any actual consequences for 99.999% of people. If Harry and Megan go full Hollywood (which it does appear they are) I am here for it and all the juicy gossip and bitchery that will entail.

So, to begin. The IG post and, following it Kaiser's commentary from Celebitchy used as a jumping off point and illustration re: my belief that there are many people, including long-time royal watchers, particularly non-British ones, who still don't really understand the role of the RF or the entirety of the current situation.

The IG post:

by Anonymousreply 328April 10, 2019 2:03 PM

IG post:

"We are excited to announce that The Duke of Sussex and Oprah Winfrey are partners, co-creators and executive producers on their forthcoming mental health series launching on Apple in 2020. The pair have been developing the series for several months and are looking forward to sharing such an important project on this global platform.

The dynamic multi-part documentary series will focus on both mental illness and mental wellness, inspiring viewers to have an honest conversation about the challenges each of us faces, and how to equip ourselves with the tools to not simply survive, but to thrive.

This commitment builds on The Duke of Sussex’s long-standing work on issues and initiatives regarding mental health, where he has candidly shared personal experience and advocated for those who silently suffer, empowering them to get the help and support they deserve.

His Royal Highness has spent many years working with communities throughout the UK and young people across the Commonwealth to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and broaden the conversation of mental wellness to accelerate change for a more compassionate, connected and positive society.

Quote from HRH: “I truly believe that good mental health – mental fitness – is the key to powerful leadership, productive communities and a purpose-driven self. It is a huge responsibility to get this right as we bring you the facts, the science and the awareness of a subject that is so relevant during these times. Our hope is that this series will be positive, enlightening and inclusive – sharing global stories of unparalleled human spirit fighting back from the darkest places, and the opportunity for us to understand ourselves and those around us better. I am incredibly proud to be working alongside Oprah on this vital series.”

by Anonymousreply 329April 10, 2019 2:03 PM

Kaiser/Celebitchy commentary:

I mean… LMAO, this is so good. “The pair have been developing the series for several months…” meanwhile we still have no f–king clue what Duchess Kate’s big mental health initiative is, even though that’s been hyped for the better part of seven months. In that time, Harry has found a way to secretly executive produce a show about mental health with OPRAH. It’s so delicious, my lord. These are big names, global names that the Sussexes are associating themselves with. Oprah, Tim Cook (aka “Tim Apple”). The series will also have cameos from Reese Witherspoon (who loves royalty), Jennifer Aniston, JJ Abrams and more. THR says Oprah is getting into bed with Apple TV in a big way in coming years too – she’s partnered with them for another docuseries, Toxic Labor, an Oprah Book Club series and tons more.

But sure, tell me again how Harry and Meghan are just going to disappear after Polo Baby is born. Also: Oprah AND Michael B. Jordan slid into the comments on the Sussexes’ Instagram:

by Anonymousreply 330April 10, 2019 2:04 PM

I'm the one that kept banging on about the celebrity agenda and I really do think Harry and meghan are building this team to destroy will and Kate. You may think I'm way overreacting but like I said before I'd like to see oprah and the Clooneys meet will and Kate (Kate in particular) to see if they are nice to the future king and queen or show passive aggressive and even blatent rudeness.

People like oprah and Hollywood think they know better than a thousands of year old institution. They think everything should be how they want it. And what they want is more power and Harry and meghan on the throne. Who cares if other people and children have to die. I wonder if theyll start subtly calling for a revolution to get will and Kate off the line of succession?

by Anonymousreply 331April 10, 2019 2:05 PM

R326 I pretty much agree but you’re not factoring in Markle”s narcissism. A more humble person would be aware that she’ll still need Harry & the BRF for the foreseeable....but she is not humble.

She has Clooney & Winfrey wanking off over her - I am pretty sure that she’ll already be of the opinion that Harry needs her, not the other way around.

by Anonymousreply 332April 10, 2019 2:06 PM

I want a reporter to call out oprah and the clooneys and Beyonce. I would ask them why they hate will and Kate and would wish death on them and their children just to satisfy their meghan agenda.

Has meghan no embarrassment that the only want to be friends with her because she's in the royal family now and not because of her.

by Anonymousreply 333April 10, 2019 2:19 PM

I used to think the Invictus shots with Markus, Smeg, Doria and Mulroney surrounding Harry looked like Harry was a mark being set up and cornered. Particularly since these shots were preceded by stills of Meghan clearly giving hand signals to the distant camera. Many Harry stans are like - it's proof! He's set up and trapped.

I now think that since media and cameras are Markle's area of "expertise", Harry just stood back and let her set it up. Then he stood on his mark and did as instructed. He was complicit, not coerced. He was just letting her run things which, as we've subsequently seen, is how he likes it.

by Anonymousreply 334April 10, 2019 2:19 PM

Here's hoping, r332. This latest news only mentions Harry working with Oprah, not Meghan. As much as I want them to both go away at this point, it would be hilarious if Harry used Meghan's notoriety to increase his profile. She's only in this marriage if she comes out on top. She would be furious if it became apparent to her that these folks were only using her to get to Harry. Narcissist that she is, she would leave in a rage if she thought she was being pushed to the side.

by Anonymousreply 335April 10, 2019 2:28 PM

Well, this is really funny... the fraus on this thread would rather MM disappear totally—live off the largess of the taxpayers—without giving nothing back. They’d rather not see her at all, rather than see her at least trying to do some good. Yes, it’s a lot about her, but I’d rather see this than a dilettante who sits and does nothing.

Yes Oprah’s a star. Why wouldn’t you want to attach your cause to Oprah?

by Anonymousreply 336April 10, 2019 2:29 PM

(continued from above...) So, Hazbean are going full Hollywood. I no longer think this can be argued. The IG is frequently updated and although it is still very new, the 'tone' is more than clear. This is American PR-speak and fundamentally Hollywood-style promotion. Meghan's fingerprints are ALL over the Insta account, although I don't think she's actually composing the posts.

And now the announcement of the Oprah partnership/television series.

Read Kaiser's post, above. Note the tone of victory - that this announcement is by definition a positive because it further cements Hazbean as Famous People who associate with other Famous People. I am seeing this tone from many people here, too, esp. wishing for a karmic smackdown to the couple of famewhores for fame- and celebrity-seeking.

I think both parties, both pro-Haz and con, need to calm down. Neither of you are understanding that the BRF is *not the same thing* - it is not even *the same kind of thing* as Hollywood is. Meghan and Harry are not celebrities like Oprah or Taylor Swift etc. They are first and foremost representatives of the crown.

Which leads me to believe that, deep in the bowels of Buckingham Palace, pants are being shit right now. As others have noted (and as I agree with) the Queen and the RF in general are personally passive. If an attempt can be made to sweep something under the rug, to delay dealing with it in a way that involves confrontation, to smooth something over - it will be. I believe Harry and Meghan have been explicitly allowed to pursue these projects in the interests of appeasing them both - and probably, lately, hoping that the baby calms them down. LOL. I also believe there is great anxiety over how this blatant fame-seeking will pan out. People like Kaiser fail to understand that the RF being seen to live lives of quiet service (even tho we all know they also live, in private, in great luxury) is not just part of the deal but pretty much the whole deal.

This has the potential to backfire spectacularly on the RF, who as an institution care 0% about the opinions of Hollywood movers and shakers and 95+% about the opinion of the British public whose goodwill is essential to their remaining in their lives of luxury. And now it appears to be well and truly out of their hands.

How will the UK public respond to the 6th in line to the throne and his wife becoming one of those movers and shakers? Attending those Hollywood galas and moving in those circles? I would be willing to bet that over a certain amount of time, it will prove deeply unpopular with the public. The RF eschew all flashiness on purpose (or, deploys it very strategically). It's not a pointless tradition. Americans seem to have trouble understanding it, but it is one of the major support columns of the modern iteration of the RF. Meghan herself does not seem to understand this, and at this point i think anyone who doesn't believe Harry has allowed himself to be completely subsumed by her vision of their marriage isn't looking closely enough.

There has been speculation on this thread about whether or not she is going to 'get it' and I think we can say now that the ig account and today's announcement are a loud, clear signal: not only is she not going to 'get it,' she's flat out running on the opposite direction.

I do not see this going anywhere good for the RF. I do not believe Meghan has the slightest grip on the reality of her new position, and I do not believe Harry is smart enough to recognize it. The odds are overwhelming, imo, that this will end badly. The new question, beyond 'will Meghan get it and when' is now 'how much damage will be done to the RF as an institution before the rope H and M are running with either hangs them both or is jerked back, hard, by the reality of their circumstances.'

by Anonymousreply 337April 10, 2019 2:31 PM

Run, Meghan, Run!!!!! They don't like the famous friends and they want to see her cuckold our Harry! Run, gurl, and don't look back. Wills and Waity have it in for you and Charlotte spells your doom! Run like hell for the colonies and get the fuck out of that cloistered, velvet prison of inbred pedos and fools!

by Anonymousreply 338April 10, 2019 2:31 PM

And just a note—I’m an equal opportunity hater of the BRF. I wish they’d all get up off their asses and do some good, in meaningful ways.

by Anonymousreply 339April 10, 2019 2:32 PM

R334 But why would he need to be directed? He was there in support of the games, not a photo opportunity with MM, her mother and her pals.

by Anonymousreply 340April 10, 2019 2:33 PM

Just an additional tidbit to the above: the interpretation of any of this as somehow inspiring gnashed teeth from Will and Kate is, again imo, just totally wrongheaded. Who thinks ANYBODY in that family is seeking Hollywood fame? They're not. None of them are intellectuals, but it doesn't take a high IQ to read the tea leaves on this. If anything I'm sure they're both smiling to themselves like a couple of Cheshire cats right now. All the pressure, all the focus is on H and M. That's *good* for K + W, neither of whom require (or have shown any signs of coveting) Hollywood-style fame to do what their entire lives are leading up to: eventually being king and queen.

by Anonymousreply 341April 10, 2019 2:34 PM

Because her role is to represent the monarchy who , in turn, represents British interests r336. Harry is supported by British tax payers. He should be out there supporting British mental health resources, etc. Not producing a vanity project with Oprah that will do nothing for mental health.

by Anonymousreply 342April 10, 2019 2:34 PM

R342 sorry I have to disagree. Oprah is the biggest influencer on the planet. This may do a lot more good than a thousand visits to mental health clinics.

by Anonymousreply 343April 10, 2019 2:36 PM

Oh dear, this bitch isn't good for my blood pressure, at all.

by Anonymousreply 344April 10, 2019 2:36 PM

Thanks for all the intelligent comments here, I get so frustrated and inpatient and want results and justice straight away. Ive stopped going on celebitchy and lainey full stop so that's a start. More than megain and Harry and I want those two sites will suffer. Hope william would go after them.

I already suffer from depression and anxiety and I'm mourning my mother. I don't want megain Harry and oprah representing mental health. Because I feel so low, the Sussex behaviour grinds on me. I just want hope that they won't succeed in the end and william and Kate come out on top and soon.

by Anonymousreply 345April 10, 2019 2:37 PM

To paraphrase a line from the movie Tropic Thunder, Harry's gone full 'tard as in Hollywood tard. The Harkles giving middle finger to British people that supposedly BRF serve. They're engaging in exactly the same sort of "charity" work that rich celebs do, the Oprah specials/ People magazine interview/ social media admonishments of how plebs should live their lives. All the while they're living high on the hog flying on private planes and staying at expensive digs they shill for or paid by British taxpayers.

Do the Brits give a flying fuck about Oprah or American celebs like Clooney, Aniston, or Witherspoon telling them how hard life is living with mental health challenges? Much of our mental health or emotional problems are related to job and financial security, things that the Harkles and jet set celebs know nothing nor care anything about.

Know why Princess Anne has earned goodwill of British people? She actually serves the public, engages with charities on personal level, meet them in person. Sure, the Harkles tv specials and magazine interviews will gain them more international fame but at a price where it counts at home with people who support their lifestyle. At some point they'll have to choose between being in BRF or going out in the celebrity world on their own as ex-royals.

by Anonymousreply 346April 10, 2019 2:38 PM

Oprah is a bit of a has been in the UK. Her show hasn't been on for perhaps 20 years. We have much better influencers than an overly sentimental, syrupy American patronising everyone from a great height and spouting simplistic rubbish at them.

by Anonymousreply 347April 10, 2019 2:39 PM

Oprah is a has been in the US, too. Maybe she gets traction with retirement-age white ladies who think their 'hip' for buying her magazine. Any other segment of the population? No.

by Anonymousreply 348April 10, 2019 2:41 PM

R336 - there are more ways than 1 to support a cause. Which do you suppose will go down better with British taxpayers - the way that involves private jets to Hollywood, A-List stars, red carpet premieres and hordes of paparazzi (all taking place in a foreign country) or the way that has served the BRF and kept them in a position long since given up by the other European royal families - quiet service and the ongoing day-to-day showing up and meeting with the little people?

If you're the "at least I want to see the royals DOING something" Brit then I can only shake my head. Once again: there are many different ways and styles in which to accomplish a goal. Some have proven to work for the BRF. Others have proven to ignite tabloid shitstorms and piss off the regular people.

by Anonymousreply 349April 10, 2019 2:42 PM

Surely you're wrong, R348! The Americans love their celebrities, you know, and all things Hollywood. They are only capable of viewing and understanding the BRF through that lens.

by Anonymousreply 350April 10, 2019 2:45 PM

All of this is pretty sick given that promoting mental health was Kate's idea to begin with. Not that Harry cannot take up that banner himself. Given the turmoil in his relationship with his brother and Kate; however, this looks shady. If he doesn't cite Kate for at least bringing this topic to his attention, he is an utter asshole.

by Anonymousreply 351April 10, 2019 2:48 PM

Why don't william and Kate just do the same and ignore the rules and fight megain and Harry the way they are doing to them? Go publicity crazy, make new foundations and make it obvious the suusexes and Hollywood aren't invited. Get more patronages and titles etc.

by Anonymousreply 352April 10, 2019 2:48 PM

Shills are out in full force. Oh the drama.

by Anonymousreply 353April 10, 2019 2:52 PM

The Commonwealth is a formidable organization that benefits it members immeasurably.

by Anonymousreply 354April 10, 2019 2:54 PM

Can someone on here in the UK give us a perspective on how the public view Harry and Meghan? I realize most of them don't give the BRF a second thought. However, Harry and Meghan have already been booed at one event. Any chance that their latest activities will lead to more such public outcry? Or, do folks there just not care that much?

by Anonymousreply 355April 10, 2019 2:56 PM

Will and Kate can and almost certainly will continue to support their mental health initiative(s?) in the way they have been doing so up to this point. Once again: this latest Hazbean drama is of no ACTUAL concern, and might even be a source of some amusement, to K and W.

Patience.

Oprah forgot that she's an ungrateful cunt. Her dad paid for her private school education yet she treats him like shit. At the very least repay him for all the education costs and cut ties. She's a user through and through...

by Anonymousreply 359April 10, 2019 3:18 PM

Hmm, I wonder why Meghan is nice to you, Oprah? I wonder...

by Anonymousreply 360April 10, 2019 3:20 PM

does anyone watch the Oprah channel? She's hoping people are gonna watch the royal couple. I can't stand them.

Just from that very first interview, she was so fake

by Anonymousreply 361April 10, 2019 3:21 PM

For better or worse, the BRF is embracing some behaviors that it eschewed in the past. The use of social media, for example. Prince Charles cozying up to the Clooneys comes to mind. Harry and Meghan may be something of an experiment. Who knows? Charles has often crossed the line of what is considered appropriate in his role as Prince of Wales. It isn't unthinkable that he intends to "modernize" the monarchy (whatever that means to him) and that the institution post-Queen won't operate exactly as it has in the past.

by Anonymousreply 362April 10, 2019 3:22 PM

You think Oprah would be interested in Meghan if she wasn't biracial? Don't think so, if Meghan had been a blond Chelsy-type American I don't see Oprah inserting herself in this. This has to do with the SJW/ woke agenda, albeit the 1% celeb wing of the movement. They'll flock to any celeb with mixed race ancestry who are also espousing generic, feel-good SJW mantra that does nothing to combat real injustice.

by Anonymousreply 363April 10, 2019 3:25 PM

I assume BP approved Harry's new venture or we wouldn't be hearing about it.

I didn't even know there was an Oprah channel until today.

by Anonymousreply 364April 10, 2019 3:26 PM

What is the deal w the TorontoPaper twitter feed? Is this just a troll? Or does the author have a personal axe to grind w MM?

by Anonymousreply 365April 10, 2019 3:28 PM

No one watches the Oprah channel except the frauest of fraus. I work with some of them, one especially is the stereotypical Oprah frau, she and her friends actually go to annual Oprah conventions (which I didn't know was a thing). All she and her frau friends talk about are bridal/ baby showers, kids' birthday parties, their spawns' soccer games, and gossips about each other behind each others' backs.

by Anonymousreply 366April 10, 2019 3:30 PM

I think that even if Meghan were 100% caucasian, Oprah would still be sucking up.

A few years back, JayZ and Beyonce were at a basketball game that Will and Kate attended on one of their US trips. JayZ arranged for him and Beyonce to be permitted to walk across the court, into Will and Kate's security zone, to chat with them for a few minutes, all on camera, of course.

20 years ago, Oprah sucked up to divorced Fergie, inviting on her show, playfully calling her "the duchess", and shamelessly asking her to recommend Oprah to Diana if she was looking for an interviewer. That was before Fergie became the nightmare she is now. Oprah has been on yachting trips with Beatrice and other celebs.

by Anonymousreply 367April 10, 2019 3:40 PM

Didn't someone on these threads speculate that the TorontoPaper twitter is actually run by Meghan or her staff? Since it's a place where those who dislike her congregate, she can identify them and their accounts and use the information to disparage them and block them on the Instagram site. No newsworthy information is disclosed on that account.

by Anonymousreply 368April 10, 2019 3:43 PM

I can't believe anyone thinks Oprah is "the biggest influencer on the planet" - she barely registers a blip in the UK or mainland Europe (except for harassing store clerks). I think her fame in North America is large but on the wane, the rest of the world don't really know or care.

R336 - No, this UK taxpayer doesn't want them living off the largesse of the land at all, or pretending to "give something back" at all. Nothing they do justifies their privilege.

Mental health gives you "a purpose-driven life"?? Jesus, pass me the sick-bag.

The BRF deserves its fate.

R355 Obviously I can’t speak for the entire population but I’ve personally never heard anyone I know say anything positive about her.

In fairness, they rarely talk about Markle but when they do, it’s all about how insincere she seems and that the constant cupping of her bump is extremely irritating.

R368, that makes sense. Although it is not written in the style that MM typically uses.

by Anonymousreply 380April 10, 2019 4:41 PM

To hell with the Queen and her jewels. If she had any decency about her, she would sell them all to her rich Arab friends and give the money to improve the NHS and reduce child poverty in the UK. That would be the most important way she could help her subjects.

She should meet with Bill and Melinda Gates to learn about what rich people who care about others are doing with their money while they are alive.

by Anonymousreply 381April 10, 2019 5:01 PM

And I hope MM gives her baby the following name: Princess Emerald Ruby Pearl Mountbatten-Windsor.

by Anonymousreply 382April 10, 2019 5:09 PM

I don't know about aristos and open marriages - didn't teen rapist Andrew divorce Fergie fairly quickly after the pics of the American licking her toes were published?

by Anonymousreply 383April 10, 2019 5:11 PM

I haven't been keeping track of her baby. So she's supposed to have given birth already? I know she was "pregnant" at the wedding. I thought she was so classless to steal the attention, it's a faux pas to do what they did at someone's wedding. Supposedly they told everyone that they were expecting...really my mistake to think she had any "class"

if that is not fame whore behavior, I do not know what is. They are just desperate for attention. I think they aim to be bigger than William and Kate. They want to be the popular pair.

by Anonymousreply 384April 10, 2019 5:15 PM

R381 - You mean sell them BACK to her rich Arab friends. Many grand pieces were gifts from same.

Let's see Meghan and Kate refuse to wear any of the Saudi wedding gifts to Diana over what they've done to Yemen.

by Anonymousreply 385April 10, 2019 5:18 PM

R381 You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. We don’t actually need a bunch of yanks deciding how we fund ourselves, thanks.

And “subjects”? Only a moron uses this word. We aren’t subjects in any meaningful way and haven’t been for a very long time. It’s a constitutional monarchy, not an absolute one so we are not subject to the will of the monarch. We’re a democracy so we’re citizens.

by Anonymousreply 386April 10, 2019 5:21 PM

Agree R385. Who cares if members of the BRF hang out with Oprah? As opposed to the Queen and her hideous sons Andrew and Charles hobnobbing with Arab royalty who have financially supported terrorism around the globe, stone gays and lock women who dare to drive in prison where they are tortured...

They (BRF) are no different than criminal Kushner, kowtowing to his bestie, Khashoggi-murderer Prince MBS.

by Anonymousreply 391April 10, 2019 5:34 PM

Oh, the entire BRF is complicit. It's just that Meghan and Harry are particularly vile narcissists who believe their own press. They need to be brought down a notch or ten. The world already has enough fame whoring 'influencers'.

by Anonymousreply 392April 10, 2019 5:36 PM

Also, the rest of the BRF stay in their lane and don't usually share their own personal thoughts because they are self-aware enough to know that no one want to hear ii.

by Anonymousreply 393April 10, 2019 5:38 PM

It's a bitter pill to swallow, but the Sussexes are successfully building their charitable and humanitarian "brand" and overshadowing Will and Kate's charitable endeavors in the process. They are global celebrities now . As much as I dislike it, I won't stick my head in the sand and believe otherwise. They are breaking the working royal template and the BRF is allowing it. Again, I question whether the Queen (or more likely Charles) thinks this is a good strategy to keep the monarchy afloat and relevant once the Queen is gone. Will and Kate focus on the UK while Harry and Meghan bring their special attention-grabbing talents to the Commonwealth and the rest of the world.

by Anonymousreply 394April 10, 2019 5:43 PM

Honest question, where does everyone think this will end up? Will all the publicity and celebrity chasing backfire on HM? Will everyone, even those who are kissing their ass think they're too fake and narcissistic, will WK come out even more popular? and all will be fine the way it was before Meghan came into the family?

Or will HM succeed in ruining this institution, getting their so called revenge on will and kate, ruining George's future? Become ultimate famewhores and become the most popular British and American celebrities?

by Anonymousreply 395April 10, 2019 5:48 PM

Who oversees the charities? Are they fake charities like some celebs have? They hire family members to oversee it and most of the money raised went to Administration fees and what not and very little actually went to the needy?

I am not a fan of the Royals.

by Anonymousreply 396April 10, 2019 5:50 PM

R340 because he was using the games as a photo opportunity with his new gf. Subsequently there were snuggle pictures. In fact I believe Harry has now used the Invictus games three times running to showcase his girlfriend turned bride. This last time he used it as a platform for her to make a speech, after having done next to nothing when this year's games were being prepared. Then he shows up to receive applause and demand Meghan get a hearing. There is no fixing him. He's gotten everything, and he shits on it and feels hard done by and entitled.

by Anonymousreply 397April 10, 2019 5:54 PM

What is this documentary actually doing? Highlighting the work of a charitable foundation / resource Oprah is funding? Or is she jumping on the wellness train and virtue signaling her ass off but really it's another self-promotion exercise? Is it money they're providing, or is it more telling us what we already know but seeking applause?

by Anonymousreply 398April 10, 2019 5:56 PM

R395 I think we'll know better when "the baby" is delivered (I wonder if it's coming via Fedex ground or USPS air). If there's a real life confirmed baby, and then the Hazbeans do their photo shoot and their interview at home with Oprah, they need to go. Because otherwise they are taking tax money and using it to pay PR and making their inroad into the American celebrity culture. Harry has to be taken off the list, no longer a senior royal, because he's a rogue actor in his own best interests. He's not acting in the interests of the crown - he no longer recognizes that he serves the crown. He seems to think he gets to decide the best use of his position. If so, then the BRF stops paying for it. They can stay in their froggy swamp then and do what they like. But the only way out is he's no longer a senior royal or even removed from the line of succession.

I think the queen has always been like this but her ass is showing now. Maybe she has it coming.

by Anonymousreply 399April 10, 2019 6:07 PM

Well, WW (formerly "Weight Watchers" ) is now focusing on emotional causes of weight gain, and using "coaches" and psychological techniques to pull the weight off. Perhaps this is part of Oprah's strategy. She was losing money on Weight Watchers, completely rebranded as WW with DJ Khaled and Kate Hudson as spokespeople. There is probably more money to be made in mental health than weight loss.

by Anonymousreply 400April 10, 2019 6:08 PM

Oprah has been on the mental wellness train for a long time. She's collaborated with Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra and others. She also has been a long-time advocate for victims of childhood sexual abuse (I believe she was a victim herself.) I recently watched the show where she interviewed the two Michael Jackson accusers from Finding Neverland and I thought it was quite good and informative. You can find it on Youtube, but I'll link it below. She's also a hypocrite who was friends with Michael Jackson, but she skirts that issue in the interview. She's a mixed bag.

R401 not "Finding Neverland", "Leaving Neverland". And the woman knows how to make a buck for sure.

by Anonymousreply 403April 10, 2019 6:15 PM

I guess the BBC or a British celebrity isn't good enough for Harry and Meghan. They have to get Oprah and Apple to improve their "brand". They're getting ripped apart in the DM comments (worse than usual). He's a complete sell-out. He and his wife should give up their titles and move to Hollywood if they just want to be celebrities.

by Anonymousreply 404April 10, 2019 6:20 PM

How exhausting.

Does anyone pay attention to Oprah these days? Does anyone outside the USA know (or much less care) who she is.

Interesting to see that Sparkle is even worse than I thought at the beginning with the $75K engagement dress.

When does the "Civil List" get reviewed? Can Harry be kicked off?

One side thought, I'm not sure I agree that Charles is now "chummy" with the Clooneys. Rather the Clooneys paid lots of money to The Prince's Trust.

And to those who have apparently lost their minds - there is no way that George Clooney has any political future.

What the heck is going on with the rumors about Will cheating. There was hardly ever any talk about his being unfaithful. And then suddenly because of one rumor, now he's apparently cheated with lots of women? I know that there are lots of women who'd want to bag him because it would make a good notch on their belt, but....he's no longer a hunk. He's rich, but he's not going to give them any money. And he seems to be quite boring. Plus he has a family that everyone knows about; does anyone want to be known as a home wrecker? Are that many women chasing after him?

R405 Oprah is the richest (or second-richest, depending on the source) African-American woman in the world, with a net worth estimated at $2.5 billion or more. Even though she isn't everyone's cup of tea, she continues to be powerful and influential. Harry's collaboration with her will further the Sussex image.

by Anonymousreply 424April 10, 2019 6:51 PM

I think Harry will stay in the UK as long as Charles is king. The day William becomes king, Harry will cash in on his American celebrity connections and move to Hollywood or NY. They need to grift as much money as they can now; real estate will be expensive in the next 10 to 20 years.

by Anonymousreply 425April 10, 2019 7:02 PM

R425 - "The day William becomes king, Harry will cash in on his American celebrity connections and move to Hollywood or NY."

If ever it lasts that long.

I agree with the poster upthread that Harry and Meghan are trying to turn the tables on the institution by using it to form their brand and do everything they can to overshadow the Cambridges. The BRF are allowing them to do it. Why, is anyone's guess. Or why they seem helpless to stop it, is anyone's guess.

Harry really has weaponised his wife who does not have two fucks to give about the institution itself, only how far it can get her. I would guess by now that she has managed a complete schism between the two brothers.

The Queen, at 93, has probably washed her hands of the whole thing. Charles will use Meghan to make himself look good at the expense of his heir and wife. Perhaps Charles, like Harry, has unresolved anger at his mother for not abdicating or dying, and forcing him to spend his life waiting, and is also enjoying sticking it to her by not reining in Harry and Meghan. Perhaps he's angry that his own Heir will likely spend much more time on the throne, thanks to his mother's refusal to die or retire, and doesn't mind cheapening the brand a bit so that William and Kate have to cope with the fallout.

It's all gotten very Eugene O'Neill.

by Anonymousreply 426April 10, 2019 7:11 PM

I think Meghan the whore has put many ideas into Harry's head. Harry is a stupid cunt. for real. He's really, really stupid. He's being controlled by her. We all know men like that. That's why there is friction between the brothers.

by Anonymousreply 427April 10, 2019 7:18 PM

R423 - Old age and over-indulgence.

by Anonymousreply 428April 10, 2019 7:19 PM

To hell with all of them. I only have sympathy for Will and Kate because they seem to have done their best to support the institution and to support Harry. I suppose they're hanging in there to get that Duchy of Cornwall money. Without that, they would have been in their rights to walk away from this whole charade.

by Anonymousreply 429April 10, 2019 7:22 PM

R400, ugh don't get me started on Oprah and WW. She's a poor role model because she is OVERWEIGHT. They probably changed to WW at her request, just to get her as a mascot. It's almost as if the plan is to keep people in a constant state of "trying" to lose weight, rather than losing weight. It's a big industry, right?

I dunno. I'm for good mental health obviously, and help for those who need it. But not looking forward to hearing Harry, Meghan and Oprah bang on about it. I guess we're well past the days of "stiff upper lip."

by Anonymousreply 430April 10, 2019 7:29 PM

Oprah is the person who brought as Dr. Oz and Dr. Phil and she thinks she's qualified to do a documentary on mental? With Prince Dimwit?

by Anonymousreply 431April 10, 2019 7:41 PM

If I were the cambridges, I'd fight fire with fire. I understand why they won't as they have to be the strong and stable monarchy family.

I'd leave the princes trust and start the Diana Trust or foundation. The Sussexs aren't part of it. Join forces with dicaprio or pitt for other climate change social issues (that's Hollywood ticked off) create more organisations and epic saviour of the world situations (save a kid, cry etc) organise a bafta program and throw parties for that, again with no meghan because that would sting her as that's her crowd.

by Anonymousreply 432April 10, 2019 7:45 PM

So this is not a charitable foundation or fund, it's just one of those bullshit "Expanding the conversation" pretentious money-making self-promotion endeavors? Lovely.

by Anonymousreply 433April 10, 2019 7:54 PM

Will's not cheating. This is Sunshine Sachs pumping it out. You know - repeat a lie ten times and it's considered true. Meghan wants to slime everything about Kate. Happy marriage, successful, close family, mother a role model? No - Will cheats, her mother is a witch, AND the family business is suffering. A few months ago Meghan's PR tried that Kate was depressed and couldn't get out of bed after Louis and Will was "patiently urging" her to try, but Kate's appearances beaming and looking happy kind of helped that lose traction.

by Anonymousreply 434April 10, 2019 7:56 PM

I remember my mother always calling them "William and Wotsit," and saying there was seriously off about Harry. I guess she was on to something.

by Anonymousreply 435April 10, 2019 7:57 PM

Dont know if you all remember gossip columnist Liz Smith, but she died not long ago - I want to say last year. She had HAD it with Oprah after awhile. What did it was Oprah had launched some project - the girls success academy? And said it was the culmination of "my work here on earth." Yeah, she pretty much thinks she's Jesus. Liz hooted from NYC to her hometown in Texas.

by Anonymousreply 436April 10, 2019 7:59 PM

Maybe Will suspected this was coming. A long time ago I read something about him that concluded in a curious way. It was that pretty much his entire adult life he has created a strong exit plan, a plan b. He loves being a helicopter rescue pilot. He is close to his wife's family, which has been an invaluable retreat/resource away from the BRF, and they're not a drain with their hands out. They contribute. He has his children and yes, his happy marriage. I thought it was strange that the article thought Will was strategic with this, on an "in case" basis. I doubt he planned to abdicate and turn it over to Haz. Maybe he had/has suspicions the game would be up once the queen died.

by Anonymousreply 437April 10, 2019 8:02 PM

I wonder if these "secret meetings" Oprah said have been going on for months were found out by the BRF, and were possibly the catalyst for the Queen very suddenly reappointing one of her former personal private secretaries (Sir Christopher Geitner) to babysit/spy on Ginge/Cringe as new head of Harkle PR last month?

by Anonymousreply 438April 10, 2019 8:19 PM

The only people who are frothing are Hazbean's PR. Nobody else gives a rat's ass about fat Harvey Weinstein lovin' Oprah, including the queen.

And his name is not Geitner, asshole.

by Anonymousreply 446April 10, 2019 8:38 PM

R446 That's the question, isn't it?

by Anonymousreply 447April 10, 2019 8:45 PM

Oprah has given millions to charitable causes. I would be surprised if the documentary didn't at least highlight a few charities or announce the formation of a new foundation. Perhaps Harry will announce a new Sussex foundation for mental health apart from whatever he was doing with Will and Kate.

by Anonymousreply 448April 10, 2019 8:55 PM

Fuck this trend of celebs as so-called experts on mental health. I work in mental health, as in actually diagnosing and treating patients with wide-ranging MH issues. Most of them have chronic, serious mental health disorders on top of being marginalized financially or employment-wise, and some have fucked-up/ tragic family stories worse than the Windsors or even the Markle's. The worst thing that Oprah and her sycophants like Dr. Phil have done is mass market emotional problems in simplistic, jingoistic terms. I work at 2 separate psych clinics, one of them serves underprivileged people with chronic MH disorders so severe that they're on either temporary or permanent disability benefits, live in group homes or subsidized housing. Somehow I have an inkling that the Harkles'/ Oprah documentary isn't aimed at this unglamorous lot, rather it's aimed at upper-middle class or higher. People who like most of us have experienced negative events/ trauma, but choose to whinge or ruminate on it for lack of better way to make use of their energy/ time in contributing to society, like Harry for example.

by Anonymousreply 449April 10, 2019 9:27 PM

R426 You reminded me that Charles has deep-seated issues regarding his parents and his children. I'm not sure what to make of him anymore.

by Anonymousreply 450April 10, 2019 9:37 PM

They will only be tackling agreeable attractive problems which can be cured by yoga or a nice candle.

Anything resembling real world problems and true distress will be avoided especially if it veers towards mental illness or addiction issues. Nauseating and patronising. Perhaps they could just hand out some money to people to make them feel better.

by Anonymousreply 451April 10, 2019 9:39 PM

Hope will and Kate counter attack with the less glamorous side of mental health and subtly throw shade and Harry and oprahs new celebrity brand of charity.

by Anonymousreply 452April 10, 2019 9:46 PM

That's right, it will be attractive problems sustained by attractive people. Thank you R449 and 450 for some perspective.

by Anonymousreply 453April 10, 2019 9:47 PM

Yes, R426, perhaps you are right. AND, perhaps you are not.

Like O'Neill's work, it's all fictional unless you're a member of that household.

by Anonymousreply 454April 10, 2019 9:48 PM

R434, that's ludicrous and naive. William has been fucking around for years and continues to do so and the newbie hardly has enough power or connections with the British press to conduct such a campaign. They also would never go along with it to court a minor royal house over the throne.

Now the Cambridges and Middletons being jealous of her positive attention has already been established. Pippa knew it, and so does Carole. Invite Meg and Harry and the spotlight is not on them. And even if the British people turned on them, Meghan is a huge asset to them in the larger world that adores her and Harry for choosing her. She belongs to them.

They're a huge asset to the BRF and I don't think it's a problem for the Queen. Wills and Waity are another deal entirely. Half the world has seen the future Queen's ass. That they've seen Meghan's is no big deal....she will never be Queen, even if she is more popular.

by Anonymousreply 455April 10, 2019 9:58 PM

Sure jan

by Anonymousreply 456April 10, 2019 10:03 PM

R446 - Probably a combination of cowardice, accident, indifference, and stupidity. Either they don't see the danger, any more than they did with Diana, or if they see it now, they can't figure a way out that doesn't make them look worse. And it's increasingly clear that for whatever reason, Charles is in on it.

by Anonymousreply 457April 10, 2019 10:04 PM

I think I found the Sunshine Sachs rep at r454

by Anonymousreply 458April 10, 2019 10:05 PM

by Anonymousreply 459April 10, 2019 10:06 PM

by Anonymousreply 460April 10, 2019 10:06 PM

Sorry, r454, I was referring to Captain Megstan at r455

by Anonymousreply 461April 10, 2019 10:08 PM

R455 - Carole Middleton's daughter was William' GF for eight years and they've been married for eight years - that's 16 years, and in all that time Carole gave only 2-3 interviews and those were last year. She's not interested in the limelight. Meghan's family has gotten 50 times the exposure that Kate's Mum has.

And we've also seen Meghan's tits on a beach. They aren't a huge asset to the BRF: they're warring with the BRF, and as they're cheapening the brand and using the BRF to set themselves up. The pretentious New Age twaddle they peddle so Meghan can turn herself into the next Oprah (because HRH the Duchess of Sussex wasn't enough for her monstrous ego) has nothing to do with what a constitutional monarchy is set up for.

It's not there to make trendy brand stars - that's what Diana didn't get, either.

If it backfired on a megastar like Diana, you can be assured it will eventually backfire on Meghan.

by Anonymousreply 462April 10, 2019 10:12 PM

I like the fiction how "they" are a huge asset to the BRF. Ooookay.

by Anonymousreply 463April 10, 2019 10:23 PM

R455 You’re clearly unhinged but just for fun I’m going to pretend to take you seriously:

“Now the Cambridges and Middletons being jealous of her positive attention has already been established”.

How? When? By whom? Please help me with some facts. Just stating something doesn’t make it real. And if you can’t support what you’ve said, then it’s fantasy.

“Pippa knew it, and so does Carole”.

How do you know this? Did they tell you? You’re not a very loyal friend if they shared these concerns with you and you’re posting them here. Alternatively this is supposition based on absolutely nothing about people who you will never know.

What do you gain from posting thus stuff when it’s clearly fantasy? It’s a serious question. And if you can’t answer any of my questions from this post you’re proving that you’re making stuff up.

Over to you.

by Anonymousreply 465April 10, 2019 10:35 PM

While reading this thread I glanced up at the TV and an old episode of Castle is on - the victim is Megsy Markle! I recognized the ski slope nose. FYI, pale makeup and red lipstick is NOT her friend.

by Anonymousreply 466April 10, 2019 10:36 PM

Thanks for the apology, but I'm the same person at both posts, R461. Posting history/trolldar is a good resource here for figuring that out.

Pippa banning Meghan from her wedding ceremony is my proof, R464. Also the fact that she did attend, but came in the back way is my proof of their understanding of Meg's popularity.

The House of Sussex is minor and they were allowed to break off to address their high level of global popularity. Sorry if that bothers you, but it's fact. They are being monitored by BP and anything anyone feels is 'outrageous' needs to go there to address it. In other words, the Queen is fully aware of everything they do.

The pretentious 'new age' prattle you say they're pushing is hardly that. I get why the old stuffed set wouldn't care for it, but these are different times, they are young, and so it goes. Phillip wasn't given much of a chance to do his thing and was regarded as a interloper in his time. You will get over it.

If you believe Wills, one of the most eligible bachelors in the world during his time, doesn't still get some on the side, you are woefully ignorant of royal ways. It's a tradition to carry on with mistresses as well as being discreet about it. Wills has been an idiot to park his indiscretions on his own doorstep. He most definitely needed spy training to refine his game.

As for the leaking and where it's coming from? Dearie, you are in no better position than I to know the origins of the leaks. But unlike you, I don't have a horse in this race so I can see clearly who is benefiting from the damage this is doing. If anything, the leaks must stop.

Now go and get a nice gimlet from the barkeep that Princess with the teef married.

As for the fiction of Charles intentions, whether he is 'in on' something or not, needs to be explained.

Over to you.

by Anonymousreply 468April 10, 2019 10:41 PM

A few minutes on, Markle wakes up in hospital. I have never knowingly seen a thing she’s been in. The girl CANNOT act. And her mouth looks weird. Her bottom lip appears to be wider than her entire mouth. She I’d definitely very, very pale here, no clue to mixed heritage.

I will now have to watch the rest of this to see how bad she is.

by Anonymousreply 469April 10, 2019 10:43 PM

Charles is a whiny little bitch who'd rather destroy the monarchy via Harry than leave it intact for William, whom he knows will be more popular than him (if only by dent of comparison to Charles). He really cannot die too soon. It would solve so much of what is going on with the Firm.

by Anonymousreply 470April 10, 2019 10:45 PM

Prince Charles and his mum are too busy diverting their untaxed funds to new tax havens post Paradise Papers scandal and kowtowing to rich Arab royals who partially support their lifestyles than to pay that much attention to Harry and his wife. They have bigger fish to fry, so to speak.

R467 - Oh for Christ's sake, get a life and attend some weddings. Harry and Meghan weren't even engaged when Pippa got married. It's often ruled by couples to keep the numbers down, that the Plus-One be a spouse of fiancee. In fact, Pippa broke the rule for Harry so Meghan could come to the reception and party. And lastly, expecting someone's wedding day to be ruined by press screeching "So when are you popping the question, Harry?!" is unfair to any bride.

And lastly, Meghan managed to do just that when she went to Pss. Eugenie's wedding: shift some of the focus to herself.

Jesus.

by Anonymousreply 472April 10, 2019 10:52 PM

So the Markle nutjob haters continue. Meanwhile Wills dicking his next store neighbor while Waitey was puking in her third pregnancy is barely discussed?

It's clear that Harry and Wills fall out has more to do with Harry disapproval of Wills cheating than comments about his marriage.

by Anonymousreply 473April 10, 2019 10:52 PM

by Anonymousreply 475April 10, 2019 10:57 PM

This was posted at Celebitchy today, on the story that and Harry and Oprah are collaborating :

"Somewhere in England, a Broken Child is wistfully gazing at a portrait of the Sussexes thinking “If only they were my patrons, I’d be fixed by now.” Sigh."

by Anonymousreply 476April 10, 2019 11:03 PM

R467 Apart from the then Pippa Middleton not inviting her sister’s husband’s brother’s girlfriend to her wedding ceremony as proof of...something (are you serious? I think that you are, sadly) you’ve avoided answering anything that I asked in R464, which proves my point - you’re a fantasist.

by Anonymousreply 477April 10, 2019 11:04 PM

r473 - Have you ever even visited Britain? Your assumptions are so off base that it's clear you probably don't even know anyone from the UK. I am certain you've never been to any English person's wedding, since you seem unaware of very standard wedding etiquette and guest list norms.

And yet - you have declare so much detailed "inside knowledge" of the BRF and seem obsessed with imparting us with that knowledge. So, I'm with the poster upthread - what makes you so obsessive and fanatical that repeatedly try to convince others of your fantasies? What is it about Meghan and Harry that makes you feel so defensive of them that you are making things up and telling those things to strangers?

by Anonymousreply 478April 10, 2019 11:09 PM

Meant to add at R476, that responses were "You win the Internet today", "LMAO", "Boom - Mic Drop" and the like.

by Anonymousreply 480April 10, 2019 11:16 PM

Come on R467, R454, R455 - you’ve been asked some very specific questions about the content of your posts and your motivation for posting them. Here’s your opportunity to prove us wrong - that should be easy, right?

by Anonymousreply 481April 10, 2019 11:35 PM

When it all gets too much, I like to replay seasons 1 and 3 of The Crown and then imagine a scene where Tommy Lascelles gets to deal with Markle and her machinations....

by Anonymousreply 482April 10, 2019 11:44 PM

And where is the proof of your assertions regarding anything, R481? Fantasy is the name of the game when it comes to the BRF: they are all saints upholding the traditions that make Britain great.

My proof is in their actions. Watching them is great fun, and no, I'm not a Brit. I like to watch disaster films and the BRF for savage amusement. I must have royal blood somewhere considering how bloodthirsty I am.

The House of Sussex is a wonderful addition to the drama. Just because you can't see the attraction doesn't mean it isn't happening.

by Anonymousreply 483April 10, 2019 11:47 PM

R473 "... his next store neighbor " Oh dear.

by Anonymousreply 484April 10, 2019 11:48 PM

“Fantasy is the name of the game”.

And there you have it, R483 - to quote someone else on these threads - this is a gossip board, not a fantasy board.

“I’m not a Brit”. Oh, you don’t say! As if anybody couldn’t tell from the content of your posts and your rather interesting approach to the English language in general and grammar in particular.

You’ve just confirmed that all your posts are fantasy.

by Anonymousreply 485April 10, 2019 11:54 PM

As every good author knows, the basis of great fantasy is fact. There are facts in every story you folks have told on this board and just as much speculation and extrapolation as anything I posted. Your reactions are telling about what a bunch of snobs you are. Thank you, again, for not disappointing me and providing ample amounts of salacious, savage amusement.

Yours, forever,

by Anonymousreply 486April 11, 2019 12:03 AM

“Snobs”, R486? I don’t think so. Unless by “snobs” you mean people who have seen right through you, called you on the content of some of your more ridiculous posts and been proven right with your woefully inadequate response.

Back to Celebitchy and Lainey for you - you’ll find the folks there much less inclined and much less intellectually equipped to question your sad bullshit posts.

by Anonymousreply 490April 11, 2019 1:01 AM

R489 - Flyover state? Flyover country, more like.

by Anonymousreply 491April 11, 2019 1:02 AM

A short holiday in Hawaii allowed me to binge watch movies in flight I don't make time for in day to day. I finally got down to watching The Favourite, for which I found I enjoyed Rachel Weizsc's (I'm not really a fan) performance over Olive Colman's (also one for whom I'm not a particular fan--and I think she is miscast for The Crown) but I digress.

I was struck by the dialogue between Sarah Churchill and Abigail Masham in their last scene together when Abigail lords triumphant as the new favourite over her cousin. Sarah looks pitiably at Abigail (Emma Stone) and states forlornly "you and I are not playing the same game." It is almost as if the Cambridges are in the role of Sarah and the Sussexes Abigail. For the foreseeable they may seem to hold the upper hand but the long game and history will inevitably fall into the laps of the Cambridges.

The biggest irony is William and Catherine don't have to do a damn thing. They could sit on their asses with a few nominal glamorous appearances and they will STILL be king and queen no matter what. I say let the moron and salad tosser do the grunt work, overextend themselves, get their fingers burnt. It won't change the succession and the BRF can sit back and see what they do that works and what doesn't--and in the end steal ALL the credit. The Sussexes and their stans are downright fools if they think their own perceived "popularity" will earn demi-god status. That's the crazy that lives in the Lainey/CB mental disordered inferiority complex warped mind.

I love lurking in these threads. Such delicious dish.

I have what is probably a very silly question but I can't work it out for myself. Perhaps one of you will be kind enough to answer.

If Charles were to die before HM would not Andrew become king not William? As oldest son of the monarch he is next in line under those circumstances?

by Anonymousreply 493April 11, 2019 1:30 AM

Hello, I have a very OT request if someone has a Times registration. Would you be so kind as to cut and paste this obituary for Ranking Roger? I've been all over these Royal threads since the Sussex nuptials, but really haven't wanted to access a Times article until now. I saw Dance Craze when I was a high school senior in '82 and got my socks blown off. I'm so sad that one of the good ones was taken young. And one does have to wonder what he'd have thought about little Miss Entitled, yet Woke who embraces multiracialism, but needs lots of cash and valuable goods from the "Establishment" she rails against.

Someone should start a GoFundMe to purchase the alleged MM sex tape. It would be an excellent barometer of just how much contempt exists for the Sussexes. I predict it would be a record breaker!

If the tape exists, the public gets to see Her Royal Salad Tosser doing what she does best.

If the tape doesn’t exist, the money could be donated to the Cambridges’ Heads Together Foundation.

A total win/win for everyone (well, everyone except the SoHo grifters, Sunshine Shitheads PR firm, and Sarah Latham).

by Anonymousreply 495April 11, 2019 1:37 AM

Is it taxpayer funds that are paying for the PR that his brother and one day the king is shagging the neighbors?

That is evil on many levels and not what the taxpayers want to hear. The idea of a loving, stable family goes over well, esp with very young kids involved.

Harry seems to hate his family even more than MeMe, she ghosts them, he and his chosen new bride are destroying his, in a very personal way.

I do not know what can be done to reign them in, any attempts seem to drive her to greater heights.

Who is paying for the PR? That seems like a very key point?

Charles seems to despise his children almost as much as Dim hates William and Catherine. You can clearly see where he learned to throw family under the bus. The mystique of the RF is eroding very quickly.

The Cambridges are playing the long game, perhaps they will get the $ and have the rest implode?

by Anonymousreply 496April 11, 2019 2:13 AM

Unfortunately the Oprah/ Harkles brand of celebrity mental health awareness will entail droning ad nauseam on faux mental wellness as opposed to promoting real awareness about mental illness. The Markle's and Co. will teach the plebs on the necessity of healing crystals, meditation beads, and other expensive new age accoutrements that only people with large disposable income can afford. I suspect it'll be inevitable that they'll eventually partner with Gwyneth Paltrow and GOOP. People living with actual mental health conditions will be further marginalized because their problems cannot be treated with meditation, aromatherapy, or crystals.

by Anonymousreply 497April 11, 2019 2:25 AM

R493 That would only happen if Charles had no children. Charles' sons and grandchildren take precedence.

by Anonymousreply 498April 11, 2019 2:26 AM

R492 -- something must be done to rein in Spenderella and Dimwit, otherwise there won't be any throne for William to ascend.

R493 -- the line of succession has been set . If Chuck were to die before HM and he were not married nor had he an heir, Anne would be next in line. But Chuck has an heir, Will will be next.

I think William is playing the long game. Right now we have Brexit, Trump and a whole world of criminals, grifters and cons. If you come to fame/power now, when this period of time is repudiated, which it will be, you will be dumped with the rest of the rubbish. Meanwhile, if Will and Kate keep their heads down and mouths shut, when sanity reemerges, they will be unsullied. I am clearly an optimist. But also there is precedence in history. Time will tell.

by Anonymousreply 503April 11, 2019 3:10 AM

Wrong, R499 - the UK didn’t introduce gender blind succession until 2015. The Princess Royal is still behind her brothers in the line of succession.

So if “Chuck” died before his mother (who you probably call “Her Royal Majesty”) then the Duke of York would inherit the throne.

by Anonymousreply 504April 11, 2019 3:21 AM

R499

[quote] If Chuck were to die before HM and he were not married nor had he an heir, Anne would be next in line.

No.

Prince Andrew would be next in line.

Princess Anne would NOT be next, even though the rules were changed that now puts Charlotte right after George and before Louis. The rule change was not retroactive and does not impact Anne's position.

by Anonymousreply 505April 11, 2019 3:22 AM

Prince William would inherit the throne.

by Anonymousreply 507April 11, 2019 3:33 AM

R503 I would be interested to hear more about your theory that William is playing the long game. He doesn't seem to be doing much at all. Charles has worked hard to carve a role for himself during these waiting years. What's William doing? I want to root for him but he isn't giving me much reason to do so.

by Anonymousreply 508April 11, 2019 3:37 AM

508 - At this point, I think all William and Kate have to do are stay out of harms way. I think the Sussex duo, like all bullies, are trying to goad the Cambridges into responding. Probably because, like all bullies, the Sussex duo feel inferior. They will be their own worst enemies. The Cambridges just need to stay quiet and appear regally remote working quietly for the people they represent.

Also, and this is slightly off topic, but who takes mental health advice from an overweight, closted megolomaniac; a twice divorced gold digger and an ex_nazi tegalia wearing dimwit?

by Anonymousreply 509April 11, 2019 3:57 AM

Get your facts right, R504, before you start lecturing others.

The line of succession is:

Charles William George Charlotte Louis Harry Andrew Beatrice Eugenie Edward Son Daughter Anne Peter Zara

If Charles dies before HM, William becomes King when HM dies. If William dies, it’s George.

by Anonymousreply 510April 11, 2019 4:05 AM

R269 Shut Up. I thought Don O'Neill was from Derry not Kerry, so shoot me. I know full well what the Commonwealth is about. You and other anti-MM posters can't seem to get it through your heads that Meghan DOES wear clothes by English designers, British designers, and Commonwealth designers more so than American, French or Italian designers. Whatever she wears sells out. Whatever she wears is knocked off by English companies and sold for much lower prices to the masses. There is evidence of that every day in the Daily Mail and Mirror.

Kate Middleton, the York girls, Sophie Wessex, Princess Anne, Zara, Lady Chatto and Camilla do not get the same criticism about not supporting English fashion. Do you criticize the Queen for having her own dressmaker? How does that support English fashion manufacturing?

The whole subject is almost moot because many people are struggling financially in the UK and worldwide. Women don't buy clothes when they don't have money to buy food and pay their bills. People have lost their jobs and depend on foodbanks. They've seen their High Street shops shut down in droves. In that regard, I think it is fair to blast Mehan and Kate for spending so much money on clothes.

by Anonymousreply 511April 11, 2019 4:29 AM

Your post is so inconsistent. Why don't you take a break and come back when you have a point?

by Anonymousreply 512April 11, 2019 4:36 AM

No matter how you spin it R511 and as much as you hold the old adage of tell a lie 10 times and it becomes true, what you assert is nonsense twisted into your own made-up narrative. It's been long debunked the things she wears sells out. Anyone with eyes and an ounce of sense knows Smegma does not support British fashion. It is people with body dysmorphia and mental illnesses who aspire to ME's smoke and mirrors. Your celebrity worship has addled your brain.

by Anonymousreply 513April 11, 2019 4:37 AM

Which is precisely what I said, R510, in answer to the poster’s query upthread if Charles died childless before the Queen.

So before you have a go at me about lecturing you should brush up on your reading and comprehension skills.

by Anonymousreply 514April 11, 2019 4:38 AM

Not R503 but the long game is to avoid scandal, stay neutral and non-threatening, dignified and composed, modest yet timeless. No matter what, succession is assured--it is veritably written in stone. The tides of politics swing back and forth and there is risk playing up to capricious social trends. Popularity is a thin veneer that can change at whim.

The British monarchy serves at the pleasure of Parliament. As long as the monarch can be identified as representative of every political side (being bland yet reassuring) and the people can interpret the monarch into what it means to be British (not just SJW woke types but the working class and traditional conservatives and those to the manor borne), then the image of the monarch is pliable to whomever's idea of majesty. In a world of fractured connections, the stable home and hearth with happy well-adjusted children that William and Catherine have put forth is the Holy Grail that every monarchy in the world tries to mold for their image. A loving close-knit royal family is an almost holy foundation for a nation in times of uncertainty. The long game ultimately is to be useful to parliament by being perceived as ABOVE POLITICS and not catering to arbitrary trends and fashions so that parliament can use the monarch as something exalted that unites all Britons no matter their creed. In other words, William and Catherine need only proceed as they've done, slow and steady and drama free, to win the long game in the end.

by Anonymousreply 515April 11, 2019 4:41 AM

R511 You lost me when you quoted The Daily Mail and The Mirror as sources.

Nice try re Derry and Kerry! Took you a while to come up with that, didn’t it?

You were caught out not knowing the difference between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and being clueless about the Commonwealth and its members. You showed yourself to be the ill-informed twit that you are. And each time you try to dig your way out of that perception, as you did in R511, the hole gets deeper!

By the way - opening a post with “shut up” doesn’t exactly make a case for your intellectual credentials.

Now, back to editing your lists of Sparkle’s hideous, expensive fashion. Run along...

Why would Harry give a shit about Wills cheating? It's the norm. Harry cheats too.

by Anonymousreply 517April 11, 2019 4:55 AM

So Harry's kids will never be in line for the throne? Ever?

by Anonymousreply 518April 11, 2019 7:06 AM

R455 I think you're confusing popularity for notoriety. People keep failing to grasp the fact that it's irrelevant what the wider world think of them, it's what the Brits think that matter. Yes there's a certain section who idolise her purely for her skin colour, she's either one of them or she can be used to promote their PC, SJW agenda. For the rest of us substance and character matters. She appears to have neither. Nor does Harry. Maybe if they can finally grasp the fact that they're part of a team and it's not all about them things might turn around. I won't hold my breath.

by Anonymousreply 519April 11, 2019 7:08 AM

I think Harry is pursuing celebrityhood because he received a pink slip from Charles. It’s well known Charles is whittling down the family so only the prime members are dominant. Harry was shown the future and the future is William and Kate and their kids. Harry has no role or career so he is seeking status through the public eye and social causes. What else can Harry do? Not much. So he will trade his diminishing royalty for celebrityhood and social grandstanding.

by Anonymousreply 520April 11, 2019 7:28 AM

R183 then they have to stitch it up and some gynies like to put in what they call a "husband stitch" to tighten it up which can lead to extreme pain for the woman during intercourse. Sometimes the woman isn't even aware that the doctor did it so they have no idea what happened.

by Anonymousreply 521April 11, 2019 7:29 AM

I am sure I dislike MM as much as anyone not related to her, but I wonder... With their PR and marketing plans for Brand Sussex and celebrity connections, would it really be so bad if they set up a foundation which raked in tons of money that was used to build hospitals, build schools, get clean water, promote equality, etc etc etc? And would this not be better for the UK and the world than cutting a few ribbons, having a cup of tea with the heads of various local projects etc etc?

by Anonymousreply 522April 11, 2019 8:02 AM

Why they have suddenly their own court and Pr ? Aren’t they falling under BP rules and Pr team ? I don’t understand why they are allowed to do this ? So many questions ! Money is the key to all what H and M are doing . They don’t give a shit for the mental health of the Brits . Money money money . Somehow all this stuff their doing is gonna generate more money for their pockets .

by Anonymousreply 523April 11, 2019 9:04 AM

Ranking Roger obituary Singer for multiracial ska band the Beat whose songs condemned Thatcher’s Britain and encouraged its disaffected youth to ‘skank’

March 28 2019, 12:01am, The Times

Music Media Ranking Roger, centre, with Jools Holland, left, and bandmate Dave Wakeling in 1982 Ranking Roger, centre, with Jools Holland, left, and bandmate Dave Wakeling in 1982 ITV/REX/SHUTTERSTOCK Share Save Singing with the 1980s ska band the Beat, Ranking Roger made no secret of his desire to “destroy Conservatism”.

“There was high unemployment, the women at Greenham Common were protesting, the miners were striking and we feared the start of World War Three,” he recalled. “That went through my head the whole time.”

The result was the single Stand Down Margaret on which Roger sang: “I see no joy, I see only sorrow, I see no chance of your bright new tomorrow, so stand down Margaret!” In the context of the volatile politics of the time, which would shortly lead to riots in Brixton and many of Britain’s other inner cities, the message should have been plain enough.

Yet the BBC apparently had tin ears and to their amazement Roger and the Beat were invited to perform the song on the after-school children’s TV show Cheggers Plays Pop.

During rehearsals the Beat’s Jamaican sax player Lionel Martin, aka Saxa, hoodwinked the show’s presenter, Keith Chegwin, that the Stand Down Margaret was an old Caribbean dance and even showed him a few fictitious steps. That Cheggers had been conned only became apparent when during the live broadcast the band unzipped their jackets to display T-shirts emblazoned with the image of Margaret Thatcher.

by Anonymousreply 528April 11, 2019 11:33 AM

R494 The BBC belatedly banned the song — a move Roger denounced as “the apartheid treatment” — but it was too late. Stand Down Margaret’s insurrectionary exuberance would not be denied and the record sold well enough for the Beat to donate £40,000 to the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament from the proceeds. “CND used the money to open a new office,” Roger recalled. “It was a very proud moment. The women protesting at Greenham Common used to sing it and so did the men in the miners’ strike a few years later. It became an anthem for that time.”

Hailing from Birmingham where manufacturing was in decline, the Beat were one of a wave of multiracial “two-tone” bands, along with the Specials and the Selecter, to emerge in the early 1980s fusing white pop music, an irresistibly foot-tapping Jamaican ska beat and left-wing politics.

Ranking Roger was the “rude boy” frontman in his sharp, modish suit and pork pie hat who looked as if he had emerged straight from a dance hall in 1960s Kingston, Jamaica. He exemplified the high-energy cultural movement that jolted a Britain in the doldrums and inspired much of the country’s disaffected youth in inner cities to “skank” their way in knee-pumping style through unemployment and the spectre of nuclear armageddon.

by Anonymousreply 529April 11, 2019 11:34 AM

R494 “We had things to say. We came from the working class and we were telling people about unemployment and nuclear horror, not like Duran Duran and the New Romantics who were focused on ‘I love myself’ and ‘Look at my nice scarf’,” recalled Roger, who described the band’s sound as “punky, reggae, ska.”

The Beat toured the world with such acts as David Bowie, the Clash and the Police before breaking up in 1983. Ranking Roger later reformed the Beat to appear at Glastonbury in 2005 and continued to sing with the band until the end. “The Beat was my education,” said Roger, who also sang on the Top Ten hit Free Nelson Mandela by fellow two-tone band the Specials.

“It was where I learnt what music should be — how you can bounce different styles off one another; how you can talk about politics and things that matter, but keep a happy, positive vibe that brings people together.”

Public Confidential, the Beat’s final album, was released in January, two months before his death. Recorded in a home studio built in his Birmingham garden, the songs carried the same message of hope for a better world that the group had expressed in their first incarnation 40 years earlier.

“Where there is racism, the Beat needs to be there because our main message was always peace and unity,” he said. “Music can get through where politics cannot.”

by Anonymousreply 530April 11, 2019 11:35 AM

R494 One of seven children, he was born Roger Charlery in 1963 in Birmingham to Windrush generation immigrants from St Lucia. His father, Jean Baptiste Charlery, played guitar and saxophone, but gave up music to work as a toolsetter to support his extended family. As a boy Roger recalled his mother, Anne-Marie, sending money home to relatives in St Lucia “as was the Caribbean tradition”. After living in Birmingham for 40 years, she returned to St Lucia, and he continued the tradition, building her a home on the island.

He attended Archbishop Williams school where he coped with racism, both casual and institutionalised, which was ingrained at the time and had begun “toasting” (a form of lyrical chanting) as a reggae DJ even before he had left.

When punk exploded in the mid-1970s he felt liberated by its willingness to embrace reggae and black British culture. “You’d go to the concerts and see black and white kids — all dressed the same — together for the first time ever,” he said.

At Rock Against Racism gigs, he took to jumping on stage uninvited to sing with the bands, and the sight of a charismatic young black punk toasting in the uninhibited Jamaican style was irresistible. “As soon as I voiced the first few words the audience were on my side, so it was impossible for security to throw me off,” he recalled. “That’s when they first called me ‘Ranking Roger’ and the name stuck.”

His first official gig came drumming with the Birmingham punk band the Dum Dum Boys. On the same bill at one of the group’s first gigs was the Beat and within weeks Roger had joined as the toaster and frontman.

“Everyone wanted to be in a two-tone band that was both black and white,” he recalled “Within nine months we were on Top of the Pops. I remember watching it with my mum and she cried.”

by Anonymousreply 531April 11, 2019 11:36 AM

R494 The song was a cover of Smokey Robinson’s Tears of a Clown and gave the Beat their first Top Ten hit. It was followed by Mirror in the Bathroom, which made No 4 in the charts. The group also enjoyed considerable success in America, where for contractual reasons they were billed as the English Beat.

After the band broke up he joined forces with the Beat’s Dave Wakeling and members of Dexys Midnight Runners, the Specials and the Clash to form General Public, recorded and toured with Sting and duetted with the reggae singer Pato Banton.

He lived for 20 years with his Irish partner Angie Murphy before they separated in 2003. That they never married was his “biggest regret”. He is survived by five children, two of whom joined him in the family business. His son Matthew Murphy — known as Ranking Junior — sings with the Beat, and daughter Saffren Murphy is also a singer.

“Growing up in the 1970s we had to deal with a lot of racism, but we healed each other,” he said. “We like to think we’re in a more enlightened age, but our kids’ generation still have a lot to deal with.”

Ranking Roger, pop singer, was born on February 21, 1963. He died of lung cancer and a brain tumour on March 26, 2019, aged 56

R493 - No, Andrew does not become King if Charles dies before the Queen. Andrew doesn't become King unless the Queen, Charles, William, all three of William's children, Harry, and Harry's child, are all swept off the Board by the Black Plague.

by Anonymousreply 546April 11, 2019 1:26 PM

Good god. Harry is sixth in line. Meghan could give birth at a bathroom at McDonalds (non "on brand", I know), and it won't really matter in the least bit.

I agree with R543. I think she's pregnant, but likes being the center of all the conspiracy theories about surrogacy, so she's adding fuel to the conspiracy theorists' fire. I'm surprised she doesn't want the Lindo Wing photo shoot. Seems like it would be her dream to walk out to a crowd of 200 photogs screaming her name and pointing their cameras at her.

They'll probably make the announcement (oops, I mean "share their blessing") on their Instagram account with professionally shot, pretentiously artistic photos.

by Anonymousreply 547April 11, 2019 1:45 PM

Maybe the Harkles want to inspect the baby to see if the baby's looks passes inspection. They can then summon Meg's makeup artist to do some touchups, highlighters to widen those close-set eyes, contouring to slim that manly, muscular jawline and bulbous nose. Sorry but I can't see the baby growing up to be pretty with such overriding features from those two.

by Anonymousreply 548April 11, 2019 1:49 PM

I don't remember such a big deal being made over Fergie's delivery of her first born, except for that the birthdate was memorable (8-8-88). While the baby wasn't in the "direct line" to the crown, people were interested because Andrew was the Queen's son. Also, Fergie and Diana were really close at the time, and it was thought that their collective kids would grow up in a close, extended family.

by Anonymousreply 549April 11, 2019 1:50 PM

R518 - No. Not unless William's entire family is wiped out - something I'm sure Meghan has fantasised about.

They aren't even going to be HRHs until Charles ascends the throne, and even then, what usually happens is that the kids go on being "styled and titled" with the usage they got at birth, which in this case is Earl of Dumbarton if a boy, and Lady Mountbatten-Windsor if a girl.

by Anonymousreply 550April 11, 2019 1:52 PM

If its a surrogate that boy or girl will never get HRH before his name even when Charles becomes king .

by Anonymousreply 551April 11, 2019 2:17 PM

And trust me the fact she cant’t use Lindo Wing is eating her alive .M is a famewhore par excellence . That year after their wedding she has done nothing else than mugging the camera . And now suddenly she wants private time and a homebirth ? Something is amiss let me tell you .

by Anonymousreply 554April 11, 2019 2:22 PM

The something amiss is the absence of an actual baby in her womb. There is a surrogate.

And they will sell the pics a la Angelina Jolie. Then follow up with instagram to boost the followers.

by Anonymousreply 555April 11, 2019 2:29 PM

One could almost think that she is like a rat trapped in a corner , here. First the doulah and birthing pool , then the Lindo and staff being refused holidays during April and May, home birth , then a team of ten professionals picked late last year at an undisclosed hospital, next came the American hospital, then Frimley Park, The Lindo again....and now Froggy Cottage. Right next to a public footpath, beloved by dog walkers. Don't pregnant women stick with the same persons/team/consultants they see throughout their pregnancy? Re-reading my list has made my head spin. She ain't pregnant.

R549 and Andrew/Fergie sort of provided a mirror version of Charles/Diana. The two women were close in age and close friends. But Charles was older and stuffy, and not good-looking, while Fergie and Andrew were close in age (was he slightly younger)? and seemed a better match - actual friends - and more fun. They served as a contrast for "I wonder what it would be like if THESE two were in line for the throne instead." They seemed happy and outgoing. I remember being surprised when they bit the dust at the same time as Diana/Charles, having lasted a much shorter time.

There was also speculation that Diana liked Andrew better than she liked Charles, and if only Andrew had been Prince of Wales she'd have been happier.

Princess Anne did have SOME style when she was younger.

R543 - stoking deliberately? Or of necessity, because there actually is a surrogate.

I completely agree that Harry will have to cash out and flee to the U.S. once William is king. I no longer think he and Me Again will divorce. Meghan would like to leave, IMO, but she has been and will continue to be unable to shake down the BRF for the grandiose sums she has in mind, and she is unable to leverage her Duchess platform into that kind of money either. So they're stuck together. Harry's going to be the Duke of Windsor all over again three generations down.

Good for William for getting his lawyers. Not only is this clearly from Meghan's PR along with all the other mud she's been slinging at Catherine and the Middletons, but they have also gotten their friends in the media to promote it, despite legit royal reporters saying it has no foundation. These are the same media types who shoot down every negative story about Meghan and Harry.

by Anonymousreply 564April 11, 2019 2:46 PM

R556 There was also the early stories of the Lindo (or ndeed any British hospital) not being clean enough for the Queen of Froggy Bottom.

The answer to your last question is - yes - you stay with your doctors and midwife and so on for the duration of the pregnancy.

I think she's pregnant but announced far too early because she was convinced the IVF would work more quickly and she just couldn't resist upstaging Eugenie's wedding day. I expect she got pregnant later last Autumn.

We don't want Meghan on our maternity ward! Mothers set to give birth at Frimley Park Hospital fear the Duchess might nab the best suite - which offers aromatherapy, a vegan menu and a luxury birthing pool. Frimley Park Hospital is a half-hour drive away from Harry and Meghan's home It' s the same hospital where the Countess of Wessex chose to give birth Local mothers hope they don't go into labour at the same time as Duchess They're concerned she will nab the hospital's only birthing pool in Mulberry Suite It has not yet been confirmed where the Duchess will give birth later this month .

Who believes the coy and demure Sussexes now want privacy for their tadpole, raise your hands!

by Anonymousreply 568April 11, 2019 2:55 PM

Unless they are selling the story to someone hence the new found coyness. Otherwise no hands are going up anywhere

by Anonymousreply 569April 11, 2019 3:00 PM

wow, did she really change all those birthing plans? No wonder so many assistants have quit. If Harry hasn't cheated, he sure would be now, she must have driven him demented with all those changes. Can you imagine her making decisions in other areas? she changes her mind every 5 min.

Well, you can't hide the truth, everyone including her royal in laws will know that she deliberately tried to steal the spotlight at the wedding. This won't sit well for the Queen and it shows everyone what a fucking desperate fame whore she is.

by Anonymousreply 570April 11, 2019 3:01 PM

She ain't pregnant folks. Everyone swore she wouldn't be able to resist a Lindo Wing photo op and how could the Sussex whore themselves and pull the wool over hospital staff's eyes? Why, avoid a hospital staff altogether. The Clooneys are shipping the baby in on their private jet because Amal sure as hell is shady af with her arms dealing family. And I thought she was carrying IVF twins in the run up, until these last two months. Her belly size and shape dispels that for me as well as the gestation. I know twin pregnancies and she definitively is not carrying twins in the belly she has displayed so if she reveals twins anybody with twin experience will know she is full of shit and a bad con artist. First pregnancies no matter the mother's age tend to go past due date, unless carrying twins. Whether a first or third, fourth, fifth, etc. pregnancy, twin deliveries are usually early in the 34 week and some change range. She is past what would have been a real twin pregnancy. If she suddenly appears sporting twins I don't care how tinhattest/tumblr I sound I will know she pulled off a scam. Even without twins this whole pregnancy and sudden secrecy scenario is suspect.

by Anonymousreply 571April 11, 2019 3:01 PM

I missed one out, R570 ( although there were probably more plans I've forgotten ) but when R565 confirmed " yes - you stay with your doctors and midwife and so on for the duration of the pregnancy.".....I remembered that earlier this year she had plans to pick her own medical team . At the undisclosed hospital.

by Anonymousreply 572April 11, 2019 3:09 PM

You can tell she's not pregnant, she's making it all up as she goes along. As my nanna used to say, to be a good grifter you have to have the memory of an elephant. ( Well, she actually used to say " liar " of course, but she would have LOVED the word and term "grifter" ) .

by Anonymousreply 573April 11, 2019 3:11 PM

Megs really knows how to go for the lowest common denominator. An announcement under "Royal Communications". She refuses to acknowledge she's now under BP.

by Anonymousreply 574April 11, 2019 3:13 PM

I bet the baby will look nothing like Harry and everyone will say it's not his baby LOL.

by Anonymousreply 575April 11, 2019 3:15 PM

R573 all of the media is public relations. "Royal reporters" are just PR arms, some more sober-sided than others, but they're not journalists or reporters. All to say that Meghan is a terrible liar. She contradicts herself left and right and isn't called out. As well, everybody knows she's sliming the Cambridges but nobody will call it out, while her fans in the media fan the flames (while calling out any unflattering Meghan stories as racist lies). Was it Mark Twain who said that if you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything? Not true. If you are a celebrity, nobody will point out that you said the opposite thing last time. Or if they do, they don't draw conclusions, just act "puzzled" and go on the assumption BOTH things are somehow true (that someone both graduated and didnt graduate from college, for example, if they've said both things.)

by Anonymousreply 576April 11, 2019 3:15 PM

I will laugh my ass off if the HazBean fame whores give their daughter a first name of Princess and Diana for the middle.

by Anonymousreply 577April 11, 2019 3:19 PM

That is eating her alive too R574 ! That she isn’t at KP anymore and degraded to BP . Why you think all these attacks on Kate and William come from . M is seethin g with hate against W and K . If I where them I would be very careful .

by Anonymousreply 578April 11, 2019 3:20 PM

The attacks on Will and Kate come from her wanting to displace them and promote herself. It's so obvious.

Kate - lovely, nice, good mum, happy, comfortable marriage Will - mature, responsible, good dad, loyal, happy, comfortable marriage Families. Kate's family is the Middletons - successful business, close knit, family and friends first sort

Meghan - bitch, entitled, one, maybe two divorces, disliked by staff Family - broken family, ghosted them, everybody seems on the grift Harry - well known rageaholic, addiction issues, considered unmarriagable

So Meghan has systematically gone after Kate. Kate's marriage is broken, it's her MOM who is a bitch to staff, not Meghan, and the business is failing.

They've taken a page from the Will stans playbook whereby every single attribute Kate has from her hair to her legs is either phony or secretly troll-like. So her family business is a notorious drug front, her hair is wigs (No it is not - I have hair exactly like hers including the color and that is the major asset of having curly/wavy textured hair that is a bit out of control on its own. When it is blown dry you have enough hair for six people, the body is amazing and it will hold any set or style).

by Anonymousreply 579April 11, 2019 3:29 PM

I read here on the BRF thread that they spotted a heavily pregnant woman on the estate where M and H had their country hideaway . I think that the surrogate is now already on the premises at Frogmore Cottage .

by Anonymousreply 580April 11, 2019 3:32 PM

I know I'll get slammed for this, but if anyone is interested, take a peek. They are ripping that Royal Communications letter / letterhead apart on Tumblr, saying it is fake / photocopied, or something. I'm not quite understanding it, but it's funny.

by Anonymousreply 581April 11, 2019 3:32 PM

Cant you give a link to that . I’m not on Tumblr .

by Anonymousreply 582April 11, 2019 3:34 PM

I think the heavily pregnant woman spotted came from a DM comment, and yep, was discussed here. Another very recent comment came from someone who walked by Froggy Cott and said there was no sign of life, inhabitants nor renovation. The poster took pictures and has handed them over to the press.

The whole waity Katy thing is so insane as well. When Will met Kate, Diana was a very recent memory. Not only did she and Charles not know each other well, but Diana was very young when she married. The BRF course corrected and now waiting was the byward. So was growing up and being a full-fledged adult, not a vacillating youth. Finish your education, get out in what amounts to the real world for rich people, let us see if your relationship stands the test, and marry when you are both still young enough to procreate. Harry was on and off with Chelsy even longer. If they'd married earlier Will stans would have claimed that Kate coerced/rushed him into marriage before he had enough experience. It's pure double standard.

Look around Will's circle from Zara to the notorious Guy Pelly and see the smarts of waiting. Zara was a bit of a volatile thing, didn't marry til thirty and look at her now. If Guy Pelly had married as a rude youth he might have married a party girl. Instead he waited and probably nabbed himself the American catch of the decade - a well educated hotel heiress with fabulous but absolutely appropriate taste in clothing and hair, polished but not try hard, widely considered sensible, not some flaming glamour queen but quality from the top of her head to the tips of her shoes. And he's a dad. Waiting is a good thing.

Of all the signs that Harry has a screw loose, his faith in his own judgment is the most damning. This guy is Dunning-Kruger in action. There are stories out that he was incensed Will dared to question his wanting to marry an older American yacht girl/unemployed actress with no real money of her own or family that she would acknowledge after conducting a long distance relationship for months. I mean! Here is Will, by many fathoms steadier, more mature, more accomplished, more everything than Harry, and he proceeded with caution despite having better reason to trust his own judgment that Harry had to trust HIS judgment. But Harry's like - just found this bird a few months ago - think I'll marry her! How DARE you question me!

He's a monster, but he's the BRF's monster. They are all about the image while they let someone like Harry rot from within. It's on them because they stick their head in the sand, enable, don't deal, cover stuff up, and keep on promoting that everything's ok.

by Anonymousreply 587April 11, 2019 3:49 PM

r584, that Letterhead and font choice does look very suspicious.

by Anonymousreply 588April 11, 2019 3:53 PM

She's done it before, forged a letterhead from the palace to give to reporters outside her home in Toronto. BEFORE the relationship was acknowledged. And she set up a pap to take pics of her handing it over.

by Anonymousreply 589April 11, 2019 3:55 PM

Me bad, she paid for a large chap to be in the pap shots, pretending he was RPO, and he was pictured handing the letter over. with her at his side.

by Anonymousreply 590April 11, 2019 4:05 PM

will it turn up here?

It does look very dodgy

by Anonymousreply 591April 11, 2019 4:05 PM

Meghan could have photoshopped the letterhead, not wanting it to be from BP. She loves photoshop. And is very bad at it. Look at her and Harry's "back to the rest of you" photos, particularly the Christmas card. Harry looks like a yeti - mishapen, weird limbs, and her arm is like eight miles long.

by Anonymousreply 592April 11, 2019 4:07 PM

I think they keep changing the birthing plan in order to throw reporters off course. They probably nailed the hospital down months ago and I assume it will be the Lindo as they reportedly asked staff to remain available in April. They'll have to sneak her in and out, but surely the royals can manage that. I can't believe she would be stupid enough to go for a home birth with all the risk that entails to both the baby and to her. What sane birth plan includes grabbing a helicopter flight to the hospital in the middle of an emergency delivery? She's putting out that her perfect birth would be at home with a pool, yoga and hypnotherapy, because its "on brand" for her, but I bet she's planning to deliver in a hospital.

by Anonymousreply 593April 11, 2019 4:07 PM

Oh fucking hell. So now we’ve got the “photoshopping/fake press release” morons on here as well?

Just FUCK OFF YOU CUNTS.

Anyone who thinks she’s sitting around faking royal letterheads is too stupid for words.

Please, for the sake of the sensible discussions we used to have...

This woman is capable of anything . Forge a letterhead from KP why not . And also that brand they want to establish is laughable . She is near 40 and without make up not the prettiest and he is a balding man who will be more bald than William in 2 years . . . And they will play the hippie couple ?

by Anonymousreply 597April 11, 2019 4:18 PM

So angry R594, she's a proven cheat in all aspects of her life.

by Anonymousreply 598April 11, 2019 4:18 PM

I was surprised that she flew to New York so late into the pregnancy. I was under the impression that it was dangerous for pregnant women to fly after the first trimester.

by Anonymousreply 599April 11, 2019 4:19 PM

Do the British people think that William and Kate should have more public engagements than they do, or is that another myth perpetrated by the Celebitchy group? I thought the Queen reportedly wanted Will and Kate to work less and enjoy the early years of their marriage and raising a family.
