Have your pets ruined your furniture?

My dog ruined my couch. The back of it has a dip in it where my dog lays and looks out the window.

i don't care that my couch has a dip in the back of it and it's only a year old. i love my 2 little dogs.

Maybe it's a nice couch.

by Anonymousreply 6April 3, 2019 1:56 PM

Yes but when I'm done with it I'm going to give it to Carole Radziwill for her dorm room.

My cat ruined my couch with his clawing. Yes, I tried all the remedies, both natural and off-the-shelf. I don't believe in declawing a cat. This was the only cat that I've had that has done this. I finally found a material that held up to his clawing - or perhaps he stopped clawing it. It was made of a microfiber that was durable and looked nice. I guess it was a good excuse to buy new couches every few years.

Oh, the fun of it!

my mom chooses to sleep on her couch instead of her nice bed with new mattresses. She has ruined the couch by pissing on it at night (leaking piss) and by weighing nearly 300 lbs.

My two cats shredded the entire back and sides of my cloth couch and two armchairs. Then I got leather, thinking it would deter them. They REALLY liked shredding leather. Now I just get a used/cheap IKEA couch and armchair and let them have at it.

Our dog has really bad separation anxiety and destroys furniture when left alone too long. We’ve lost couches and doors and walls and you name it

by Anonymousreply 12April 3, 2019 2:19 PM

My fuckin' cat sold my leather couch on Craigslist.

by Anonymousreply 13April 3, 2019 2:20 PM

r12, address his separation anxiety. do not let the poor dog suffer like that AND destroy your furniture in the process.

by Anonymousreply 14April 3, 2019 2:20 PM

We’ve tried r14- we crate him now and he’s on meds. The vet is running blood tests because nothing seems to work, even obedience training was a costly disaster

My cat destroyed a couple of my 1950s vinyl upholstered dining chairs. Found that it's more expensive to get things reupholstered than to buy new chairs.

Now I have these. Suck it, cat.
