Most homoerotic movie you can think of

I am in the mood to watch something that is NOT actually porn, and that has a plot, but is so homoerotic it will make me cream my jeans. It can be explicitly gay-themed or not, but it must have the sexiest display of male flesh imaginable. I am thinking of something along the lines of Paul verhoeven's "The Fourth Man," which was so sexy in its objectification of Thom Hoffman that I rubbed one out to it several times in high school in the late 80s.

Please: NO TWINKS. I am not turned on by Timothee Chalamet or his ilk. I want something about HOT MEN, not skinny boys.

You might like The War Boys, Brian J. Smith and Benjamin Walker are manly dude bros who get it on with lots of tension between them and that’s just a side plot to the movie, not the main storyline. Jumping to TV and bringing up a Brian J. Smith again at the risk of being attacked on DL, I would also recommend Sense8 on Netflix. It’s all about sexual fluidity and just about every one of the 8, plus more, end up intertwined at some point gay and straight guys alike.

Not sexy or anything, but for me the most unintentionally homoerotic movie I've ever seen is Boondock Saints. It's also one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

There's one scene in the film where the two leads, who are supposed to be brothers, both decide to become vigilantes and they're sitting on their beds shirtless, silently staring into each other's eyes and smirking.

It's not just me who thinks this either; I read a review where the critic complained how the two main characters are supposed to be brothers, but come across more like lovers.

There is one legit gay character in the film though, so maybe it has a gay director or writer?

r150 I’m talking about Mark Patton, who is gay, was known to be friends with Robert Rusler, and did not appear to mind rolling around with him, at least in 0:27-0:28 of the clip you linked.

Wow lol I never noticed that. It looks so obvious now lol.

Robert Rusler was pretty in Nightmare in 1985 and he's still handsome today.

OP here are the Turkish wrestlers from Topkapi. Melina Mercouri seems to think they are quite a turn on. The scene was a bit surprising for a 60s light comedy. Anyway, you can't accuse me of posing a link towards twinks

Unfortunately, they put a new age score (!) like some Loreena McKennit. It has nothing to do with the real score. Oh well. If anybody has a better clip than mine, please post it.

R166 sorry for the délayer. I think they were both gay but Bouchitey 's character was aware of his inclinations and Dewaere' s character was either asleep (waiting for something or someone to trigger it) or in denial. The time period in the movie was the sixties and sex revolution had not happened yet. About Dewaere, i like his insolence, his fragility and his dimpled chin.

What's funny is the older British guy in the scene with Rupert(that's gay in real life)has the bigger dick.

by Anonymousreply 178April 3, 2019 3:40 PM

Anybody care to look at some actual definitions?

Homoerotic: concerning or arousing sexual desire centered on a person of the same sex.

Homoeroticism is sexual attraction between members of the same sex, either male–male or female–female. The concept differs from the concept of homosexuality: it refers specifically to the desire itself, which can be temporary, whereas "homosexuality" implies a more permanent state of identity or sexual orientation.

by Anonymousreply 179April 3, 2019 5:04 PM

r172, interesting; my impression, based on the film's coda (set several years later), was that Bouchitey's character was a str8 guy who merely had a fetish for wearing women's clothes, while the Dewaere character was gay, deeply closeted, putting forth an excessively butch front and threatened by Bouchitey's nonchalant acceptance of his own sexual fetish.

by Anonymousreply 180April 3, 2019 5:16 PM

.And nobody has mentioned Buster and Billie. Best nude scene of all.

R55, was that the guy from Daredevil in that scene from "Cut Snake"?

by Anonymousreply 182April 3, 2019 5:32 PM

Red River- 1948

Lawrence of Arabia- 1962

The Sergeant- 1968

From Here to Eternity-1953- there is a scene on the road between a drunken Clift and Lancaster - in reality Clift was really drunk in the scene.

And although I am not a woman, if I was I would recommend" Les Diaboliques" with Simone Signoret- 1955, and of course " Calamity Jane" -1953 with Doris Day at her gayest.

by Anonymousreply 183April 3, 2019 5:48 PM

R180 When he was interviewed about " La meilleure façon de marcher", Miller explained that what he wanted to film was the story of an humiliation based on an interview of Ingmar Bergman declaring that when somebody was humiliated, he or she was more likely to become more mature. At the end of the movie, Marc who is now an estate agent visits flats with Philippe and his girlfriend and he said "there are closets everywhere" meaning that both, Philippe and him had the opportunity to change their life but they didn't act on it, they chose the closet. According to Miller, both were gay but it was another time of shame and despair.

This clip features some twee song, probably put together by a frau, but the film, Plan B, is FULL of sexual tension. Two straight Argentinian friends... spend some lazy afternoons together and explore. No definitions. They barely even acknowledge anything is happening, which makes it kind of hotter.

by Anonymousreply 189April 5, 2019 3:24 AM

The same director dialed up the tension even more with his film Hawaii about a man at his family home who takes in a wayward neighbor to help around the house. There isn't even a formal sex scene -- it's all about the homoerotic tension and it is HOT. No, the guys aren't models, but the heat the filmmaker generates is unreal.

R190 It's unreal AND massively annoying. Eugenio's contradictory actions make no sense from any standpoint and by the end you just want to bitch slap the director.

[quote]Some gay audiences might describe the film as a 100-minute cock-tease while others might find Hawaii's earnest tone laughable or pretentious, or both

WEIRD SCIENCE.

Very homoerotic, and yet homophobic at the same time.

That scene with Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) in female underwear, with his brother Chet in just a towel, was a very odd scene.

I don't even know why Wyatt was wearing the women's underwear in the first place. Not to mention that he could have changed into normal clothes right after waking up - but he didn't.

Instead, he chose to wear the panties into the kitchen to cook breakfast. That's where his brother Chet caught him in the panties, and proceeded to strip off his towel and told Wyatt to "cover up." Leaving Chet standing there naked in front of Wyatt in his panties.

Strangest scene EVER.

by Anonymousreply 207April 29, 2019 4:10 PM

R206 Anthony-Michael Hall brings homoerotic chemistry to everything he’s in.

My favorite is the UST he has with Noah Wylie in PIRATES OF SILICON VALLEY (1999). They don’t even touch at all, but the lustful long seconds of gazing and sultry conversations and flirtatious presentations say it all. It’s sone ways it’s thematically like a tech-hippie version of PERFECT BLUE.

I'm curious what OP means by homoerotic (apologies if addressed elsewhere).

Half of the responses seem to be listing movies that have clear gay sex and/or gay characters in sexual situations.

Half are more implied homoerotic moments - some in the script and some likely played by the actors for subtext - where physical yearning or attraction is implied/suggested/hinted at but perhaps not fully explored by words or actions.

Just curious, OP - if you're still around - which one you were looking for, or if both were acceptable answers.

[quote]That scene with Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) in female underwear, with his brother Chet in just a towel, was a very odd scene.

It’s an iconic Homoerotic scene.

In the 90s I attended a panel and Bill Paxton made a reference about a seduction within this particular scene. I always thought he understood that scene to be a little incestuous.

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (1958)

Considering the time it was made, plus Hollywood eliminating any hint of homosexuality from the original play, Paul Newman did a remarkable job on his own of bringing just the right touch of repressed homosexuality to his character. Otherwise, the movie wouldn't have worked with Brick rejecting a wife that looked like Elizabeth Taylor (IMO, she never looked better than here).

Just got a video copy of one of the most homoerotic movies of all time: the TV movie DRESS GRAY, with Alec Baldwin, Patrick Cassidy, Timothy Van Patten, et al. Highlights include the scene where Baldwin wrestles Cassidy into submission, and the scene where Cassidy obviously has plans to seduce the hunky Van Patten, but there's plenty more where that came from :-)
