She got ass warts, HPV. She got cancer from anal sex. That cancer came from a warten cock. Farrah Fawcett also had asshole cancer. Cervical cancer comes from HPV too. So does oral and throat cancer.

She should have listened to TV grandmother Lois Kibbee when she screamed, "Don't touch it!"

She just confirmed she got it from anal sex via husband. Slut.

She appears unworried.

Please. Being judgmental about anal cancer here of all places? Guess you're all sluts, too.
I admire her for her honesty. It will help other people cope with disease that are considered unseemly. She has courage. May she live long and prosper.

I find her cancer banal.

I had anal cancer, but didn't lose any hair from radiation and chemotherapy. There was no "spreading of the cheeks" either. I lay on my back while the radiation machine bombarded me. Fortunately, I had found the cancer early when sticking my fingers up in there to apply some lube. It was a growth protruding into my love canal.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 6, 2019 7:14 AM |
You can get anal cancer without ever having had anal sex.

Mine was from having a lot of anal sex. Literally, impossible to count.

What’s the difference between colon cancer, rectal cancer and anal cancer?
by Anonymous | reply 48 | April 2, 2021 2:03 AM |
R48
Location Rose!
Anal/rectal cancer starts in the lining of the rectum (rectal mucosa). Rectal cancer is cancer that begins in the rectum. The rectum is the last several inches of the large intestine. It starts at the end of the final segment of your colon and ends when it reaches the short, narrow passage leading to the anus.
Colon cancer is a type of cancer that begins in the large intestine (colon). The colon is the final part of the digestive tract.
Long story short the former is at end of the line, while latter further up.

My friend said he saw blood in his stool once, had it checked out and had cancer. They removed some of his intestine but he is ok now.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 2, 2021 2:46 AM |
If caught in early states survival rates for colon cancer are rather good. Yes, this may involve removing portion of intestines (as like Tina Turner), but you'll still be living. OTOH if ignored and the cancer spreads then things can be quite different, the sad story of Chadwick Boseman is proof.
Many Americans either are squeamish or don't want to talk about things that involve their bowels. Even when many do notice something isn't right sad state of medicine in USA often means things that should be caught, aren't.
There was an article in Sunday New York Times magazine many years ago about cancer or maybe just medicine. One person profiled was a young new mother fighting for her life against colon cancer. The woman did everything right, she informed her doctor about blood in stools be he told her it was "nothing". She complained again to her obstetrician (after becoming pregnant) about pains in her abdomen, and again was put off. Finally when in hospital delivering her daughter again the woman asked nurses about what were now strange lumps in upper quadrant of her abdomen. The nurses also told her it was "nothing"....
Finally the poor woman got some sense and went to another physician who took complaints seriously and while it was already obvious to him (late stage colon cancer), did required testing and pronounced the grave results.
Rest of article was about how this young mother was coping with cancer (treatments, surgery, etc...) all with long odds she would live to see her daughter enter school. All this was totally avoidable if her first doctor had listened to his patient and run required tests/did exams. That another physician and then professional nurses dismissed what any medical or nursing student is taught are warning signs of colorectal cancer is equally disturbing. Often wished had kept that article or at least could recall name to see how that poor unfortunate woman fared with treatment.
Dustin Diamond was another who ignored pain and more to point when lumps began appearing on his body at first. People unless are bruises any lump on body should be seen by a physician. You should also know your own body; if there is pain and other signs things just aren't right, get another opinion.
Mr. Alan Bennett himself a colon cancer survivor wrote "A Woman of no Importance" which is about a self-absorbed woman so busy minding other people's business that doesn't realize she's ill with cancer. She further doesn't catch on after her doctor, a specialist, nurses and everyone else knows, she's dying of colon cancer.

by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 2, 2021 3:13 AM |
I had colon cancer a few years ago. I had abdominal pain one day out of the blue that would not go away. It would hurt severely when I was sitting, hurt less when I was lying down and feel okay when I stood. I went to a couple of different doctors, as well as the ER where they gave me a CAT scan and told me definitively it was NOT cancer. My GP thought it was diverticulitis and gave me a particularly caustic antibiotic, then sent me to a hernia specialist who ordered an MRI and an ultrasound. One doctor said I had probably broken my pubic bone, which was impossible (and when I later looked it up found I would have had to been tackled in a pro NFL game for that to happen). I had pretty much stopped eating more than one meal per day because sitting hurt so much, and sitting after eating hurt even worse. And if I laid down after eating, I would get acid reflux. So I would eat a meal at work where I had taken to standing in my office all day.
After a month, the pain mysteriously went away, but then I was severely constipated. The hernia specialist, having reviewed the results of all the tests, pretty much threw up his hands and said- I don't know, call me in a month if you're still in pain. So that's four doctors, who had no idea and didn't bother to think outside their narrow scope.
When I realized my pain was gone but that it now felt like I was blocked from being able to go to the bathroom, I thought to myself- something shifted inside and I have some kind of a growth that's impeding my ability to go to the bathroom easily. I didn't think it was cancer, but some kind of a polyp or benign mass. But I know my body, and I knew there was something very wrong.
I called my gastro and told him about it and asked about getting a colonoscopy, even though I was too young. He examined me, told me to get a strong laxative in the meantime, and scheduled me for a colonoscopy a few weeks later. They didn't even need to do a biopsy (but of course they did) to know it was cancerous. The report they handed me when I left basically said malignancy. I was told to immediately begin looking for a surgeon. Terrifyingly, my gastro recommended the same hernia doctor who was such a useless asshole to me (not knowing I had been to him). I interviewed three surgeons and chose the head of the UCLA colorectal cancer dept. and had surgery two weeks later. I had Stage 3B colon cancer and needed to do chemo.
The ironic thing was a year prior I had finally gone shopping for a new GP because Obamacare had pretty much caused me to lose half my doctors the year before. The first guy I went to I really disliked and I knew I wasn't going to keep him. On the way out, he gave me a fecal matter testing kit because it was just something he did (I wasn't having any issues) and told me to do it, mail it in and schedule a follow up. I never did. I have no idea if the cancer was present at that point, and if so, would have registered enough in my fecal matter.

by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 2, 2021 8:17 AM |
No other symptoms, R57. Just worsening pain over the space of a month, then the constipation. I was 100% fine prior to that, exercising, traveling a lot, working, etc. I get a physical every year.

by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 2, 2021 4:19 PM |
R59, what was your diet like? Your stress levels? And what was it about the fecal test doc that rubbed you the wrong way?
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 2, 2021 4:24 PM |
Oh, the fecal test didn't rub me the wrong way at all. It was just a thing he asked me about as I was walking out the door and I had already made up my mind I wasn't coming back. He talked too much, and it was all about himself. And it had nothing to do with medical stuff. I can understand asking a patient lots of questions and trying to get to know a bit about their habits, especially upon the first visit, but I was in there for over two hours listening to his stories that had nothing to do with anything. It made him come off as not very serious or competent. I want a doctor, not a chat buddy.
In terms of diet and stress, I had had a particularly bad 18 months. I had worked very hard on a job and at the last minute, the rug got yanked from under my feet and I was treated particularly horribly by the woman in charge, who gaslighted me for months. It was so bad that I completely fell into this pit of anger and self-doubt that I could not climb out of. In fact, when I got the cancer diagnosis, I actually named my tumor after her, and I am fully convinced she caused it, that's how bad the stress was.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | April 2, 2021 10:24 PM |
Yes, yes, R56/R59/R63. Many ill people who also happen to be irrational lunatics name their malignancies and blame them after the "devils" in their lives.
Perhaps an exorcist certified in electro-convulsive therapy can help the obvious problems that are left.
Good luck and thanks so much for sharing!
