For a long while, the long term addicts were usually found on NastyKingPigs. Now They are on all the apps.

Coke was ok for me. But not something I ever liked enough to be addicted. Occasionally when out with friends late Friday in order to keep the energy up. Have no desire to do something like that which lasts days. Though I hear it’s a more sexual vibe than coke - which was not a great sex drug.

Coke did nothing for me. It made me awake like coffee but that’s it.

I don't even talk to guys who have signs of using coke and meth use on Grindr. Maybe being 21 and drug free (don't even smoke weed) I'm just the exception.

If you have to advertise your party drug on a hookup app then you're probably (1) addicted and either (2) need some or (3) want to bring someone else into the addiction with you.

I’m from a blue collar factory town and the meth use there is crazy. We have a Denny’s and a Walmart in the same strip mall and it’s just depressing to see so many workers with no teeth and young people looking ravaged. For a while it was all opioids and there was a death almost every week but meth seems to be taking over.

When I moved to LA I was naive and I guess thought fancy, city people wouldn’t be druggies beyond weed and coke but was I wrong. My first boss was a very successful business owner with a beautiful home and a kept twink boyfriend. He invited me over one night and I really was shocked to see a meth pipe. He also abused everything from mushrooms to acid to adderall and Valium.

I was raised to believe my hometown was full of drugs because people were hopeless and there were no good jobs. It shook my world view to see people in LA who had money and opportunity also abusing. I just decided to stay tee total because I don’t understand it.

I live in a small town in Kentucky and it's common to see someone (usually a woman) who is way too thin and completely toothless, one of them does or did work at the local grocery store.

We live in a country close to China, and every week it seems there is another 1bn dollar shipment of pseudoephedrine being intercepted from there, and even though the scourge peaked here a couple of years ago, some shipments still make it through.

I rarely bother with men on apps anymore, and if I do am on the lookout for signs if they tweak or not. Some industries turn a blind eye to its use and the suicides and mental breakdowns linked with it. Many communities have suffered and a percentage of a whole generation will need support and care the rest of their lives for psychiatric disorders in a system that can't cope with it.

We just relocated to a mid-size city in the midwest. Our apartment borders on a sketchy area of town. On one side is a French pastry shop selling $6 croissants and across the street is a mission. Further down the street is a group of low income high rises and flop house type apartment complexes. I work from home and our apartment is in a direct line between the fire station and the high rises. At least three or four times a day, the rescue units screech past with sirens blaring full blast. We assume it is an OD each time. I lived in LA for 25 years and spent considerable time in NYC and nothing was like this.

r44 this is a classic attempt to gentrify by destruction-only it's not tearing buildings down it's destroying communities. We're going through that now up here (Ontario). The developers and rich are trying to destroy the last vestiges of the middle/working class, and the local councils are letting them for many reasons. Increased tax base to plug the budget holes from corruption not least of it. They're also trying to destroy the Green Belt.

NYC went through this in the 80s. Several artists & writers have commented on it. The pace of life is faster there, so it was a quicker turnover.

R44 I've lived in major cities and don't think gentrification is necessary a bad thing. We lived in a an up and coming area of LA which which underwent major gentrification while we lived there. Our current apartment building used to be a flop house with drug dealers and hookers - now its lofts which appeal to younger professionals - and eldergays like us. I don't see a lot of arts and middle class being displaced. I see a lot of homeless, drug dealers and prostitutes wandering up and down the street.
