Dolly grew up in Appalachia where there were five siblings to a bed. Dolly has said that she's so used to having someone next to her in bed that its why she shares it with Judy (her best friend) whenever they're out on the road.

Dolly's always been pro gay. She came out in support of gay marriage in the early 2000's before most democratic politicians even did so. She's never done a thing to harm the community, and by all accounts she's one of the nicest and most charitable celebrities in the business. Leave the woman alone. For another, 64 years is a looooooooong time if it's a romantic relationship. Most flame out long before then. Solid friendships, however, can last a lifetime.

It is NOT her responsibility, BUT as mentioned above she is universally loved and if she was Gay and came out, it would probably do less damage to her, then to anyone, is exactly the reason why if she IS gay, it would be a very helpful thing for her to do.

Dolly and Judy have been best friends since they were small children. Dolly said one time, that she couldn't imagine having sex with Judy because it would be like having sex with one of her siblings. Dolly is so open, that I'm sure if they were gay, she would tell everyone.

Here is a good article from the NYT, explaining how Dollywood and Dolly, works to appeal to all regardless of sexual orientation and views. Personally, I have been to Dollywood numerous times, and I have seen a same sex couples kissing, right outside of the Chapel where church services are held in the park every Sunday, and no one batted an eye.
