Creator Ryan Murphy does not have an idea for season two of 'Feud,' according to FX CEO John Landgraf

Well the first season sucked.

All the actors proposed to play Charles and Diana already had bit parts in The Crown.

by Anonymousreply 1February 4, 2019 6:46 PM

I thought that season two was supposed to be about Charles and Diana?

by Anonymousreply 2February 4, 2019 6:46 PM

Probably had trouble with the Buckley and Vidal families regarding Wm. F. and Gore.

by Anonymousreply 3February 4, 2019 6:46 PM

FX did the right thing in slapping down the Charles and Diana idea. It never felt right.

by Anonymousreply 4February 4, 2019 6:47 PM

How about Bette Davis versus Miriam Hopkins?

by Anonymousreply 5February 4, 2019 6:49 PM

I guess Murphy is already over Feud and American Crime Story and off obsessing about a fresh, new project he can sink his teeth in.

by Anonymousreply 6February 4, 2019 6:52 PM

Let's suggest ideas. I'll being:

Jennifer vs Angelina

Oprah vs Stairs

by Anonymousreply 7February 4, 2019 6:53 PM

On one of the Broadway threads, someone suggested Ryan bought the rights to Razzle Dazzle, the book about Broadway's 1970s-90s transition. There is a feud in there, Michael Bennett vs. Tommy Tune.

by Anonymousreply 8February 4, 2019 6:57 PM

i still want to see the feud between Joan Rivers and Johnny Carson.

by Anonymousreply 9February 4, 2019 6:58 PM

There was already a movie made from Hedda Hopper and Louella Parsons.

by Anonymousreply 10February 4, 2019 7:00 PM

Betty Davis vs Anne Baxter for the Oscar Gold.

by Anonymousreply 11February 4, 2019 7:13 PM

cool idea R8, and I had heard that as well, but I wonder if Fosse/Verdon will take up all that space for a while...

by Anonymousreply 12February 4, 2019 7:19 PM

Lennon and Mcartney

by Anonymousreply 13February 4, 2019 7:23 PM

Fued Madonna vs Time

by Anonymousreply 14February 4, 2019 7:26 PM

Madonna vs Lady Gaga

by Anonymousreply 15February 4, 2019 7:26 PM

Leonardo Da Vinci vs Michelangelo during the painting of some mural in Milan or Florence had a huge feud.

by Anonymousreply 16February 4, 2019 7:27 PM

I always thought this was a one-off idea that worked very well as it was but which wasn't going to work as an ongoing series. The Charles/Diana series made no sense because they're going to do it eventually with a much bigger budget and with an actual British cast of what will be assuredly first-rate actors.

Other ideas for what they could do come to mind, but they would probably attract a small audience by the very nature of things, unless they did Burr/Hamilton (and that would only be attractive because of the musical--and would be exceptionally hard and expensive to film). Who would tune in to see Gore Vidal/Truman Capote, or Lillian Hellman/Mary McCarthy?

by Anonymousreply 17February 4, 2019 7:27 PM

Sorry, I really enjoyed Season 1. But you cunts don't like anything so there's that.

by Anonymousreply 18February 4, 2019 7:28 PM

Why doesn’t she always do what she always does write a decent first couple episodes and then let it all go to shit!!

by Anonymousreply 19February 4, 2019 7:28 PM

Nancy Reagan VS Barbara Bush. The white house years.

That would be epic.

by Anonymousreply 20February 4, 2019 7:28 PM

Ann Landers vs. Dear Abby

by Anonymousreply 21February 4, 2019 7:29 PM

Jackie vs Lee. The fight for Onassis billions.

by Anonymousreply 22February 4, 2019 7:31 PM

Actually Jane Wyman vs Nancy Regan might be goood.

by Anonymousreply 23February 4, 2019 7:32 PM

Jackie vs Lee David Lee Roth vs Eddie Van Halen Prince vs Warner Brothers

by Anonymousreply 24February 4, 2019 7:33 PM

Morrissey vs. Johnny Marr (The Smiths).

by Anonymousreply 25February 4, 2019 7:35 PM

Feud us limited but Crime Story has great potential.

JonBenet, Iceman killer, PTL scandal, Phil Spector, Robert Blake, Natalee Holloway....

by Anonymousreply 26February 4, 2019 7:39 PM

Debra Messing vs Susan Sarandon

by Anonymousreply 27February 4, 2019 7:40 PM

I can’t believe they haven’t done ACS: JonBenet. Ryan has clearly checked out of FX. I wonder how much he will be involved with 9-1-1 and POSE going forward. My feeling: not much.

by Anonymousreply 28February 4, 2019 7:46 PM

M Vs. G, obviously.

by Anonymousreply 29February 4, 2019 7:47 PM

He’s on to Netflix. Doesn’t care about FX. This is what sociopaths do: use and move on.

by Anonymousreply 30February 4, 2019 7:51 PM

We're all waiting for the right time to watch Joan vs. Olivia.

by Anonymousreply 31February 4, 2019 7:54 PM

Olivia d’ h ended this shit

by Anonymousreply 32February 4, 2019 8:42 PM

Agree that they probably are a bit nervous after the O D'H lawsuit. Even though they prevailed.

by Anonymousreply 33February 4, 2019 9:55 PM

Andy Warhol vs. Valerie Solanas.

by Anonymousreply 34February 4, 2019 10:02 PM

R32= webmistress of The Concluding Chapter of Crawford.

by Anonymousreply 35February 4, 2019 10:09 PM

R26 I think Tammy Faye thought she was in a feud with Jerry Falwell and others, so maybe Jim and Tammy v. Jerry Falwell, et al.

Too bad there Falwell v. Larry Flynt has already been made into a movie. That would have been good.

by Anonymousreply 36February 4, 2019 10:13 PM

Murphy should just do limited-run series, 6-12 episodes and on to the next project. He doesn't have the attention span to sustain a multi-season series. The first 13 episodes of Nip/Tuck, Glee, and American Horror Story were all great, but the shows fizzled after that.

by Anonymousreply 37February 4, 2019 10:16 PM

His ideas are always for self-contained miniseries, but I think the only way he can sell them is to pretend they're full series.

by Anonymousreply 38February 4, 2019 10:24 PM

Kathy Griffin vs Andy Cohen

by Anonymousreply 39February 4, 2019 10:25 PM

The only reason he got away with People vs. OJ was that OJ and the prosecutors were public figures, and Johnnie Cochran is dead. He would have huge trouble getting away with anything implicating either John Bennett Ramsey or Burke Ramsey is he did JonBenet for an "ACS." No one's going to tackle those stories using murphy's approach until they're dead.

by Anonymousreply 40February 4, 2019 10:27 PM

Debbie Gibson vs. Tiffany

The Bangles vs. The Go-Gos

Paula Abdul vs. Pebbles

Anita Baker vs. Toni Braxton

Britney vs. Christina

Monica vs. Brandy

Backstreet Boys vs. N Sync

Celine vs Barbra

by Anonymousreply 41February 4, 2019 10:38 PM

Dharma & Greg vs. Will & Grace

by Anonymousreply 42February 4, 2019 10:39 PM

Wallis Vs. Elizabeth The Queen Mother

Sonny Vs. Cher

Lizzie Vs. Her Father and Step mother

Bill Vs. Hillary

FDR Vs Eleanor

Gilligans Island/The Brady Bunch Vs Sherwood Schwartz

by Anonymousreply 43February 4, 2019 11:22 PM

ACS: Claudine Longet, Spider Sabitch - Aspen in the 1970s

by Anonymousreply 44February 4, 2019 11:27 PM

Nancy Reagan vs. Raisa Gorbachev.

[quote]I can’t believe they haven’t done ACS: JonBenet.

Everyone has done JonBenet, you retard. People are fucking sick of it.

by Anonymousreply 46February 4, 2019 11:36 PM

I think that Lennon vs McCartney would work best, especially since everyone still knows who they are.

by Anonymousreply 47February 4, 2019 11:42 PM

Murphy is done with FX, or were they not notified? He has a multi multi million dollar deal with Netflix. FX will be lucky to get another season of AHS.

by Anonymousreply 48February 5, 2019 12:01 AM

At least he finally admitted it instead of writing 2 decent episodes at the beginning then turning into absolute shit at the end.

by Anonymousreply 49February 5, 2019 12:01 AM

VHS vs Betamax

by Anonymousreply 55February 5, 2019 12:16 AM

r22 I agree. And Jessica Lange can play Janet Auchincloss Sr. the sister in law of Big Edie!

by Anonymousreply 56February 5, 2019 12:20 AM

I don't think he could do a female vs. female season again. Wouldn't look good.

R8's idea sounds good. Here is a Vanity Fair article on it.

by Anonymousreply 57February 5, 2019 12:22 AM

He should do an ACS: Jonestown. even though it has been done before.

by Anonymousreply 58February 5, 2019 12:45 AM

Telling the behind the scenes story of Lucy and Desi could make an interesting season of Feud. From their meeting, to his cheating, their business, and their growing old. End with his last words, and you have a season. Hopefully they throw in her brief feud with Patty Duke for an episode, just for DL.

by Anonymousreply 59February 5, 2019 12:53 AM

R59 I don’t want to see Sarah Paulson play Lucy.

by Anonymousreply 60February 5, 2019 1:12 AM

R57 here -

Just finished reading the VF article. This would be a great miniseries! Here are some of the roles:

Donna McKechnie

Tom Eyen, and Henry Krieger

Siouxsie Sioux vs. Robert Smith (The Cure). Smith was a fan of Siouxsie & the Banshees when he jumped on the chance to be their last minute guitar player replacement. I don't think he was a fan of her after he finished his stint.

Yes, the Lucy and Desi Story would be dynamite. Lucille Ball stated in her autobiography that she and Desi were greatly attracted to each other, but they did not approve of each other. They were simply too different. She also felt humiliated by his drinking and cheating, which had become more public as they had become more successful.

by Anonymousreply 68February 5, 2019 5:54 AM

R68 It would be great to get a series about Lucille Ball’s life but I don’t want the Overated Ryan Murphy making it.

by Anonymousreply 69February 5, 2019 6:07 AM

Clint Eastwood vs. Sondra Locke. He was vicious.

by Anonymousreply 70February 5, 2019 10:51 AM

When the time is right....Trump vs. Pelosi

by Anonymousreply 71February 5, 2019 10:52 AM

Jerry Lewis vs. Dean Martin

by Anonymousreply 72February 5, 2019 10:53 AM

he was also supposed to do Clintons vs. Lewinsky (with Monica as executive producer): too bad it won't make it, i'd watch the shit out of it.

by Anonymousreply 73February 5, 2019 2:32 PM

FEUD - Lindsay vs Hillary Duff.

by Anonymousreply 74February 5, 2019 3:02 PM

even better, Lindsey Lohan vs her career

Britney vs. Christina?

How very 2005 of you. I want to see Brad vs Angelina

'Cept I think it's Brad's production company that runs this show.

Martin & Lewis would be interesting.

If he did a Lucy series, Gillian Anderson should play Lucy. She nailed it on American Gods.

Ryan Murphy NEEDS to do the story of Silk Road founder Ross William Ulbricht aka Dread Pirate Roberts. He was cute as fuck. Get that twink Aussie to play him. American Kingpin is a great book.

Hillary vs Barack

by Anonymousreply 80February 5, 2019 6:12 PM

Nah, the real feud there is Barack vs Bill r80, they don't get along. Barack and Hilary made their peace.

by Anonymousreply 81February 5, 2019 6:14 PM

That doesn't seem like it would be up Murphy's alley r89, but the Silk Road drama is begging for an adaptation.

by Anonymousreply 82February 5, 2019 6:17 PM

I’m surprised Silk Road hasn’t been optioned yet. For anyone into podcasts, listen to the Casefile episodes. Quite riveting.

by Anonymousreply 83February 5, 2019 10:43 PM

Agree with R83 that story must be told on screen or tv. There are lots of suggestions here, some are really great. I hope Ryan checks out Datalounge.

by Anonymousreply 84February 5, 2019 11:05 PM

R39 YES 🤣

by Anonymousreply 85February 6, 2019 11:31 PM
