Africanized honey bees (AHB) are in Texas and the Southwest, California and the Pacific Northwest. I read that 90% of wild bee colonies in Arizona are AHB.

They are here in AZ and have been for a long time. No, they aren't killing playgrounds full of schoolchildren, but every so often they kill livestock/pets, and every once in a blue moon they kill an old person who disturbs a hive and can't outrun them.

Didn't they get a lot of the aggression bred out of them by mixing with regular honey bees? Even at the time of the hysteria, people were making jokes that the story was overblown.
