The story of Motown...ZZZZzzzz...is there anything more to say?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 18, 2019 7:36 PM |
I love "Second That Emotion." I wish I'd lived through the Motown era, instead of having to discover it decades later.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 18, 2019 7:38 PM |
He doesn’t really look like that. He’s at Kenny Rogers-level disfigured.
But he looks great on that cover.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 18, 2019 7:42 PM |
Smokeying!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 18, 2019 7:56 PM |
R6, here he is in 2018. He doesn't look disfigured. He looks good for 78 years old.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 18, 2019 7:57 PM |
I don’t even think he’s had any plastic surgery.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 18, 2019 8:10 PM |
He’s always been handsome.

Gay?

R12 what’s the point of this?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 18, 2019 8:24 PM |
R12 just wanted to shed some light on the fact that this man was a machine.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 18, 2019 8:25 PM |
Hmmm r14, could I be suggesting he was a great songwriter, perhaps?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 18, 2019 8:25 PM |
R10, get your prescription checked. He's clearly had a lot of work done. The best way to tell -- with anyone age sixty or older -- is if their upper lids showed about 20-30 years earlier. His didn't. And now you can see them from space.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 18, 2019 8:27 PM |
More importantly, he still sounds great.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 18, 2019 8:29 PM |
I think he's had his eyes lifted. Men always look more feminine with that constant "surprised" look on their face.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 18, 2019 8:29 PM |
Here come the DL Smokey Robinson haters starting with R17.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 18, 2019 8:33 PM |
I happen to love Smokey Robinson. Just pointing out the obvious R20/Snowflake.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 18, 2019 8:35 PM |
I’ve got your Snowflake right here, bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 18, 2019 8:37 PM |
Yeah, that's a lot of Photoshop and makeup.
But Smokey did a lot of amazing work, hats off to him for his accomplishments. It ain't his fault that his face is melting off in real life.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 18, 2019 8:37 PM |
"I’ve got your Snowflake right here, bitch."
Things are gonna get all Smokey in here from all the grease fires.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 18, 2019 8:40 PM |
He was always my least favorite Motown singer. I hate his high voice.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 18, 2019 9:49 PM |
If not a performer, Smokey can still be appreciated as a great songwriter. I love his voice, personally.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 18, 2019 9:51 PM |
Lots of plastic surgery and some skin bleaching.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 18, 2019 10:12 PM |
I don’t see skin bleaching. I’m sick of people using that for every black person that isn’t dark skinned.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 18, 2019 10:16 PM |
When did his eyes turn blue?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 18, 2019 10:18 PM |
Smokey always had light eyes....
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 18, 2019 10:19 PM |
About 10 years ago he looked like shit because of bad plastic surgery.
It's either settled, or he had it redone because he looks better now than previously.
Love him and love his music.

Smokey Robinson hates the LGBT community.
He went on all of the religious right shows from the early 90's to the 2000's.
Most if not all TBN shows as well as The 700 Club with Pat Robertson.
Many of the programs had speakers going all anti-gay & he would come on & sit down next to the anti-gay guest & SAY NOTHING! Just shake everyone's hands & smile like the rhetoric was nothing. Can you imagine a LGBT doing this when an anti black speaker had just spoken?
He also did The 700 Club when there was anti-gay news segments on the program as well. He never distanced himself from the right wing hate that they spewed.
This is just another glowing DL thread here on anti-gay right wing celebs like R. Welch, K. Fields, C. Khan, R. Fleming, D. Douglas, J. Schneider & Vanity.
Just unbelievable. Support your community over the bigotry. It's how we all make better places in this world.

R32 he sounds like the majority of human men.
Where is your outrage for Chris Pratt???
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 18, 2019 10:45 PM |
R33 Thanks for reminding of Chris Pratt. I forgot to add him to my list.

Pictures of this?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 18, 2019 10:50 PM |
[quote] Just unbelievable.
Really, everyone's supposed to have a thorough anti-gay celeb list to refer to at all times? Yes Robinson became a born again to help him quit cocaine and then supported the 700 Club afterwards. I just like his music and I don't remember there ever being a Smokey Robinson thread before where this was discussed, sorry.

Saw him at the bowl a few year ago. Great voice still, gives a hell of a show and “Tracks of my Tears” is one of the best songs ever. Always thought he was handsome in his youth with those green eyes.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 18, 2019 11:04 PM |
Funny - I was the one who said I didn't like his high voice and I just turned on the TV and there was some prog. about soul music on and he sang "Tears Of A Clown" and "Going To A Go-Go" and "Shop Around" - and I LOVE them. So I sort of take it back.
I hate Tracks Of My Tears though.
He never really cut it as an LP/album guy though, did he? Didn't move well into the 70s, unlike Marvin & Stevie.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 18, 2019 11:36 PM |
He looks like a senior citizen with blindingly white veneers who has had significant plastic surgery done. All magazine covers are heavily Photoshopped, so it's hard for a celebrity to not "look great" in a photoshoot meant for a magazine cover.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 18, 2019 11:45 PM |
R39 = jealous

Why would Smokey get Jennifer Lopez to perform a Motown tribute?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | February 11, 2019 3:56 PM |
Great singer. Def plastic surgery but who cares.
I can’t believe they had that basic JLo doing a Motown medley, she’s barely passable as a vocalist in the studio.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | February 11, 2019 4:30 PM |
His eyes look like Kenny Johnson’s from SONS OF ANARCHY AND THE SHIELD. He’s got bad plastic surgery too. His eyes have that pulled artificial look like Smokey’s.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 11, 2019 5:04 PM |
A great song, and Richard Gere at his peak...
by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 11, 2019 6:20 PM |
No way he didn't always look like that- his eyes look so feminine now as another poster pointed out. Waaaaaay to much plastic surgery- doesn't look normal at all to me. Mary!!
by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 11, 2019 6:39 PM |
I've know several people who had to have their eyelids done because they were sagging so much, it affected their vision. And because it's a health issue, insurance will pay for it. He might be one of those.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 11, 2019 6:57 PM |
Yeah my friends dad had eyelid surgery cause he couldn’t see. It’s a health issue
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 11, 2019 7:00 PM |
R48, my late MIL had that done. It was a very subtle cosmetic difference, and helped her vision.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 11, 2019 7:31 PM |
Yeah he did it because it's a health issue... LOL my sides!!!! MARY!
by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 11, 2019 8:41 PM |
Some of you are so pathetic and low. It’s sad to see men of your age behaving so poorly.
