"Dennis Day" The Original Gayseketeer Missing
[quote]Friends of 76-year-old Phoenix resident Dennis Day have stepped up their efforts to locate the onetime Disney Mouseketeer, who has been missing since July.
[quote]On July 15, Day told his husband, Ernest Caswell, that he was going to visit friends. Uncharacteristically, he left his dog and cat behind and hasn’t been seen since.
[quote]His husband, whom he’s been in a relationship for 46 years, now suffers from a degree of age-related memory loss. Friends say Caswell’s hospitalization seemed to trigger a crisis, leading to Day’s departure. More than a week later, his car was discovered on the Oregon coast, being driven by persons unknown to Day’s friends. The driver told police that Day had given them permission to use it. No forensic evidence was found in the vehicle to suggest any struggle or foul play had occurred.

Don Wilson) Did you see the race?
Dennis Day) That reminds me Mr Benny, here's the dollar I owe you
Don) Did you bet?
Denny) No I watched it at Mr Benny's house

Jack) I thought you were great in the movie "King Solomon's Mines" Miss Kerr, but the last 15 seconds were ruined by some guy started talking and I didn't hear the ending.
Deborah Kerr) Would you like me to tell you what happened
Jack ) No that wouldn't be fair, I got my money back

I'm confused, why would he take the cat and dog when he was visiting friends? And since Caswell was in the hospital, did they notice he was missing soon enough to find them alive?
Also a little confusing, the by line is Phoenix, but they lived in Oregon, so the car wasn't that far way from where it should be.

He was from Phoenix, Oregon, which is about 60-70 miles to the Oregon coast, but I was initially confused by that, too, thinking he was in Phoenix, Arizona.

Jack Benny was the king of comedians. A lot of his old shows are on YouTube. Some of them are uneven but when they work they are hilarious. Benny created a world of characters and Dennis Day was one of them. If you don' t know Benny's work I urge you to take a look.

Dennis Day THE SINGER died in 1988 (1916 - 1988) age 72.
Dennis Day was also the name of an original Mouseketeer. He is gay and was probably molested by that obese pedo-mouseketeer Roy Williams
That is the Dennis Day that is missing.

Jack Benny has nothing to do with this.
The Dennis Day on The Jack Benny Program is not the same person as the missing Mouseketeer.
One would think this doesn't need repeating further.

No, it was Tommy Kirk … While filming "The Misadventures of Merlin Jones," Kirk started seeing a 15-year-old boy he had met at a local swimming pool. The boy's mother discovered the affair and informed Disney, who elected not to renew Kirk's contract. Kirk was 21 years old. Walt Disney himself fired Kirk after receiving a complaint from the boy's mother.

I don't think so. I probably would've recognized Johnny Crawford, as I used to watch "The Rifleman." I watched the Mickey Mouse Club, but mostly for Spin and Marty, not the actual Mouseketeers. Speaking of which, I definitely would have recognized Tim Considine. He and Tommy Kirk (The Hardy Boys) were my first crushes.

r53, that's what I thought, too
by Anonymous | reply 54 | February 28, 2019 4:04 AM

It really sounds like the methhead who'd moved in killed Dennis after Ernie was taken to the hospital, Dennis didn't want the methhead there and probably tried to throw the bum out once it was just the two of them in the house, and the methhead sold Dennis and Ernie's car for drug money. But with no sign of Dennis and Ernie too deep into dementia to be of help, the police aren't moving against the methhead because there's no evidence a crime has taken place.
This world is a dangerous place for eldergays. Their families were no help, the hired help has probably committed murder and theft, and the police aren't doing squat for the gay citizens of the community.

This does seem like a "Forensic Files" in the making. Very sad, I hope Dennis is found soon, that Ernie fully recovers, and they both go on for many more years of married bliss.

r55 the world is a dangerous place for everybody now. All the attention on the "opioid epidemic" when the real issue is meth. Oxy addicts don't stay up for three days on the pipe, getting paranoid, planning elaborate crimes and going psychotic.
On another note, is it bad that DL has corrupted me to the point I immediately pictured a seedy motel room with flashing lights and a fisted grandpa?

Lenny Bruce always accurately described Annette Funicello as "the Mouseketeer with tits."
DL fave Ann Blythe was married to the Jack Benny Dennis Day's brother for years and years and I think the Day bros had about 37 kids between them. Good Catholic boys.

[quote]You need a warrant to search a house.
You only need a warrant if the homeowner doesn’t give permission and to search for evidence of a crime. You don’t need a warrant to check for a person in the house, specifically if one is reported missing. It’s one of the first things done when a child is reported missing in case they went somewhere to hide for some reason.
