I get that they originated the language and all, but I sometimes have a hard time understanding their spoken version of their own language. Other countries have clearer versions. I feel the same way about British English though.

R14 Not all Spaniards lisp. The people of the Canary Islands don't lisp, but they're still Spanish.

Spaniards are very gay friendly. Saw many gay couples holding hands and being affectionate when I was in Madrid. This was several years ago and it wasn't even in Chueca. Spanish people just don't care. They're very accepting of gays. Spain is not as Catholic as people might think.

Most people associate Spain with tons of topics that are not even common in the whole country.

For example bull fights are not popular anymore, there are a lot of people who are against them because of the cruelty. They were always more popular in the south of the country than in the north.

Flamenco is from the south too, i live in the north west and our folklore is way more similar to the irish than what people associate to Spain.

The country changed a lot (probably way more than other european countries) in the last 30 years. Far from perfect but nobody is. And at least we don't have that ridiculous obsession with weapons.

They are unlike any other European ethnicity. I love them but I can see where Latin America went wrong.

They are quite temperamental.

The age of consent used to be 13 or 14 but they increased it to 16. I don't know why but it's probably a good idea. Too many pedophiles took advantage of their lenient laws.
