r191 As someone who was adopted as a child , I think adoption is a wonderful thing and I am very close to my parents .I don't even refer to them as my adoptive parents but just as my Mum and Dad as that is what and who they are . It can have its complications in adulthood if there is any contact with your biological family but in some situations it really is the better outcome for the child infact all concerned.

Having said that I agree with you that people should not be put under moral pressure or guilt tripped into adopting rather than seeking other options like fertility treatment etc
