He's really growing on me too.

David Gura looks like he has a number of bodies buried in the basement of his house.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 16, 2018 12:10 PM |
David is the type of guy that uses a gay intern who is obviously in love with him to do all the menial work because he knows the gay guy will, but then goes home at night fucks a chick.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 16, 2018 1:46 PM |
lol what explains Gura's glow up? Just weight loss or he had some surgery? He looked horrible before
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 18, 2018 3:59 AM |
Eh maybe he's a bit slimmer but mainly it's the haircut, the glasses, and the TV makeup.
I recently caught his weekend show and found it quite lively. He seems like a Today show material.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 18, 2018 4:14 AM |
why does MSNBC always start later than the other news channels? CNN and Fox "News" start on weekdays at 4 AM while MSNBC not until 5 AM. On weekends CNN again is at 4. Fox at 6 and MSNBC not until 7! I mean I'm not usually up that early but they get good ratings you'd think they'd start at the same times as their competitors.
and enough of the Dateline marathons on weekends and holidays. Why can't MSNBC put some weekend nightly programming and specials? On Sunday at 9 they do have 1 usually but the rest of the night no

This happened on Ari’s show this week:
Ari: “I know that you’re a fan of Wu Tang Clan....”
Jill Wine Banks: “Oh, yes!”

Korn Yacky is so annoying. He makes me feel like an old man yelling at the TV wishing he would stop shouting everything! I've wondered this too, R76. When I first noticed he's absent so much, I was kind of excited thinking that MSNBC had gotten rid of him. For a while, I thought maybe Katy Tur was taking over the show because she was on for such a long stretch. How I wish they'd find another role for him. His supercilious attitude is so grating. His Wiki page notes that he's NBC's "Political Director" so maybe that aspect of his work, whatever that entails, is taking up his time.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | January 8, 2019 12:06 AM |
Ugh, weasel turd Corey Lewandowski is on Chris Matthews now, debating merits of the border wall with fellow repug Charlie Sykes. Corey is dancing as fast as he can, reciting all the Trump/Huckabeast lies, and Sykes won't even deign to look at him, while he rebuts all the shit Corey's spewing. I’m disappointed in MSNBC for wasting time on this crap.

I feel the same way, R84. I really like Rachel Maddow, but it's just not to the level of my admiration for Nicolle. Of all of the on-air talent, she's the person I'd most like to go out and have a drink with. (On the pundit side, I feel the same way about Joyce Vance.)

by Anonymous | reply 89 | January 8, 2019 1:40 AM |
Nicolle has a great mix of characteristics. Some one on a previous thread said it well when he described her as the fun, but not slutty girl in the dorms who was a lot of fun to share a joint with. She's a rare mix of perceptive, intellectual, funny, relaxed respectful, and deferent when called for.
I would very much like to see her do an interview with someone who is adversarial to see how she handles it and how she maintains her cool. To my knowledge, she hasn't interviewed Republican lawmakers who lean Trumpkin like a Lindsey Graham. I think the first thing she'd do is ask for an explanation for the many contradictory statements about Trump and policy.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | January 8, 2019 1:45 AM |
I haven't read all 9 threads--has anyone commented on how Elise Jordan doesn't blink? She has abnormally long blink/stare intervals.
I can never focus on what she's saying because I'm busy trying to out stare her. It bothers me and seems psychopathic on some level. I thinks she's capable of horrible things for this reason.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | January 8, 2019 2:02 AM |
r83, I was going to say, I think that puts any doubts about Ari's sexuality to bed (so to speak) once and for all.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | January 8, 2019 2:05 AM |
It’s annoying when Nicole gets giggly. That “Top Stories of 2018” show she did was unwatchable since she giggled her head off at every stupid joke made by Brian Williams.

Nicolle Wallace is a refreshing example of how a pretty woman (& a blonde to boot) can be smart. Her hair looked a lot better on "The View", though.
I have to add, did anybody watch poor Elise trying to host Nicolle's show while Nicolle was on vacation? Horrible.
Yes, she was terrible, but I've never liked her and her Invisalign-looking mouth, anyway. But my sister and I both noticed her makeup was 1000% better than when she's just on as a guest. I guess she does her own (bad) makeup when she guests. She should ask the show's makeup artist to give her a fucking tutorial.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | January 8, 2019 10:41 PM |
I like Steve Schmidt, who sometimes makes an appearance on Nicolle's show. I bet I would disagree with him on many many things; he's a Republican after all. But I think he has integrity and he has expressed regret for his own campaigning tactics. But man, he just yells when he talks. It's hard to hear what he is saying, because he just gets louder and louder. I get a bit cringey.

Does anybody here know how Chuck Todd's ratings are following Nicolle?
You know how on CNN, Don Lemon comes on Chris Cuomo's last segment before starting his own show at 7/10pm? I think MSNBC should fire Chuck Todd, replace him with Steve Schmidt, and have Steve come on Nicolle's last segment every day before starting the 2pm show.

Rachel Maddow's parents are also Trump supporters and both she and Wallace have talked about getting along with their parents in the Trump era which basically means not discussing politics at all. I knew about Nicolle's parents, and now I know about Stephanie Ruhle's, making a trifecta.
Bonus points, Maddow and Wallace grew up only about 20 miles from each other in the East Bay area of San Francisco. There's only a year difference between them, so I wonder if they ever faced off each other on debate teams and the like.

I had the TV on mute and looked up to see Vaughn Hillyard reporting. He has this bizarre habit of bobbing up and down when he speaks. I never really noticed it when I would have the sound on but watch him on silent and it is actually hysterical. He is not that great of a reporter anyway, he always has a pregnant pause when asked a question from the anchor in the studio showing that he doesn't really think fast on his feet. Too much time bobbing and weaving.

When Ari Melber appears on TV one day clean-shaven, the next day with full scruff, the following day clean-shaven...
Is he being fashionable? Making a deliberate choice to appear disheveled once in a while in order to appeal to the audience? “Bum Chic”?
Is he hung over? Is he letting the audience know that he’s so busy working that he doesn’t have time to shave?
If he’s not going to shave....why bother combing his hair? Why bother getting fully dressed? Why not show up on TV in his pajamas with bed head?
Does his occasional scruff bother anyone else? Clearly it doesn’t bother his boss.

I thought Hillyard bobs when it's cold.

There were some great hosts subbing for David Gura while he was on paternity leave. Baratunde was wonderful as was another black commentator with a bald head and glasses. Both quick and really skilled at moving things along which can be hard when there are four guests vying for comment time. Also there was a guest on one of the shows who is one of the hottest in months. His last name is Baron. He has a beard. Perfect. I also love when one of the panelists gets caught with pastry in their mouth and there's a desperate attempt to chew and swallow without actually moving the jaw.

Ari's beard looking just fine when on with Ali at 3. Love Cynthia Alksne too.

The guy on the right, who is always on Up with David Gura on the weekend, is a hoot. He wears a wedding ring, but he's extremely loud and flamboyant. I can't imagine that he's straight. He makes the other panelists uncomfortable with his flamboyance.

R134, Vaughn Hillyard is normally reporting from some field with a farmer or in some factory in a flyover state, he is getting that question from a satellite relay which can cause a delay in him getting the question and then when he replies that takes a second or two to get back to the studio.

Mika is so easy to pick on. I can just see her in production meetings saying that they don't know her worth and so they gave her the job of saying the name of the person who is going to ask the next question of the current guest. So her worth is that she can read a paragraph from a news article and repeat the producers direction of who gets to speak next. High value.

I had already accepted this before watching the show. There is no leap in imagining trump and company had no misgivings about accepting Russia's help in steering opinion on social media or helping the Russians out by giving them all their polling data. Donald has an amazing ability to disconnect from any sense of wrong-doing even when he does things he knows are wrong. Completely immoral.
He also has this weird ability to distance himself from things that are incredibly serious, like running the country. He treats the whole thing like a lark. He treats everything that way. The only thing he seems to be able to take seriously is his press.
The bigger issue to me is, is he going to get away with it?
by Anonymous | reply 234 | January 23, 2019 5:08 PM |
We have been discussing this on these threads for two years now! There isn't anything Figluizzi said that hasn't been written on either this or one of the Treason threads. Did it take them this long to catch up? Or is it that Figluizzi finally felt there was enough revealed evidence to finally say this publicly?
Everything connects to this. Even the fucking shutdown!
by Anonymous | reply 235 | January 23, 2019 5:53 PM |
I more than suspected that the Trump campaign worked hand in hand with the Russians, but despite feeling this, hearing Figluzzi and Jeremy Bash yesterday was chilling. The threats that the shutdown poses to our security infrastructure both foreign and domestically are really serious and need immediate remediation.
I've gone from accepting that the campaign was in Russian pockets as part of an impromptu project to starting to believe that this has been a carefully planned long term operation spanning back to the 80s when he gained prominence and openly speculated about a presidential bid. The KGB maintained dossiers on prominent Americans, businessmen, industrialists, etc. that the GRU inherited. Czechoslovakian intelligence services began to surveil Ivana's family once she married Trump so who knows what kind of influence and pressure they used on the family to gain access to Trump information or influence him. For all we know, Ivana herself could have been passing information along. And after Ivana, along came the "model" from a former Soviet bloc country,
Trump has long been a Russian mark and potential "useful idiot" I think the only questions that remains is how much awareness he had the he was acting as their agent. I hate thinking "conspiratorially" like this, but I just don't know what other conclusion to reach other than there's a Russian agent in the West Wing.

I keep expecting Andrea Mitchell to have a stroke on the air. I only watch bits and pieces of her show but it's enough to catch how often she falters and has mini-aphasias. One of these days I'm afraid she's not going to come out of it and slump over at the anchor desk.

And I agree that I don't know why in the world MSNBC puts up with their bullshit. If they can't be bothered to do the show every day in the normal way that all the other hosts do their shows, then it should be taken from them and given to someone else who would be more than happy to have it.

I remember when Phil Donahue and Charles Grodin had primetime shows on MSNBC. That seems like a lifetime ago.
BTW, Whatever happened to Phil Donahue? He completely disappeared. You'd think he would have something to say about Trump. Maybe he and Marlo have decided to become non-political to protect the St. Jude hospital that she runs.
by Anonymous | reply 278 | January 26, 2019 7:07 PM |
Joe and Mika are in 'good' with MSNBC management so yeah, they can do what they want. The staff hates her and loves Joe. She has been on more regularly lately but last year she worked when she wanted to. She is busy scheduling speaking engagements for her book - where Joe often accompanies her. It's said their 'rider' is almost as absurd as some rock stars. Mika does not find the SNL skits about her funny at all. She's pretty witless and humorless and fails to follow the flow of the show.

Here’s Phil Donahue talking to Amy Goodman about his 2003 firing from MSNBC for his anti-war stance. NBC at the time was owned by GE, which is a big customer of the Pentagon, and the network bigwigs didn’t dare rock the boat. The final program I think was with Greg Palast, exposing fraud in the 2000 presidential vote count in Florida. (Which brings us back to Roger Stone.) Then without any explanation, Phil was gone.
Here’s Phil Donahue talking to Amy Goodman about his 2003 firing from MSNBC for his anti-war stance.
A lot of people forget that MSNBC didn't start out trying to be a liberal-leaning network or a counterpart to Fox News. It went through a lot of permutations and didn't finally become a left-leaning network until Obama's presidential run in 2008.
In the early 2000s, following 9/11, MSNBC was trying to out-Fox Fox. They gave right-wing nutjob Alan Keyes his own prime-time show. They gave right-wing radio host Michael Savage a weekend show but fired him when he told a prank caller live on the air that he was a "sodomite" who should "get AIDS and die." And they made a big push to hire people away from Fox News, including Rita Cosby, who had a short-lived prime-time show. I think it was also during this period that Joe Scarborough was brought on board to host "Scarborough Country." And Pat Buchanan showed up regularly as an MSNBC contributor. The only real liberal voice on the network (besides Phil Donahue's brief tenure) was Keith Olbermann.
After the 2016 election, it seemed for a while that MSNBC might be trying to return to this strategy, with the hiring of Greta Van Susteren and giving Hugh Hewitt a weekend show. But neither of those seemed to get good ratings, so both shows were canceled.

And that great success story, Megyn Kelly.
by Anonymous | reply 295 | January 27, 2019 7:46 PM |
MSNBC needs to dial down the “quirkiness” of its on-air talent. David Gura’s funky shoes, Jill Wine Banks’s brooches, Ari Melber’s scruff and rap lyrics, etc., only distract from the seriousness of the news.
I don’t tune in to the news for shoes and pins and rap lyrics. Enough.

It’s strange that Sully Sullenberger doesn’t correct people when people describe “The Miracle on the Hudson” as a plane landing in the river.
You can’t land a plane in a river. You ditch a plane into a river. Ditch does not mean crash. Just like land does not mean ditch.
Sully knows that but he just smiles at “landed in the river”

Replace Joe and Mika with Joy Reid and give the weekend "AM Joy" slot to Chris Jansing. Joy has great panelists, but she is too fond of the sound of her own voice, both in speaking at warp speed and talking over her guests. I no longer watch Reid's show as she is nearing the hyper-anxiety level of Steve Kornacki.

I hope he drops dead before getting NEAR the election. Isn't he against healthcare for all as well - I'm sure that doesn't suit his Zillionaire dreams and buddies - they want the poor to drop dead, hungry and sick, while they get every goddamned coin for their own purses - MUCH worse than Silas Marner sitting up every night counting every goddamned gold coin in his chest, while people drop dead for starvation all around.
Republicans are demonic !!!!!!! (and this guy is no Democrat in my book -- just doing like Trump and being one because he lives in Pacific NW or whatever and it's politically expedient. If a regular pundit becomes a candidate or becomes an active participant in a political campaign, it's expected that they leave their TV ;positions.. Back in 2011 Newt Gingrich left Fox when he formed an exploratory committee for a run at the presidency and then made a weak run in and flamed out early in the primary. He's since come back as a regular contributor. Back when Sarah Palin was still a regular on Fox and she kept hemming and hawing about another presidential bid, many speculated that she didn't because it would mean losing her lucrative Fox contract which was $1M a year. She ultimately didn't run and Fox dropped her when it was evident she couldn't be counted on to be lucid in her appearances from the special studio they constructed at her Alaska home.
Canned or fired is a strong and likely incorrect characterization of the situation. "not a contributor while he advises" doesn't sound like fired to me. I wouldn't be surprised if he's back once Schulz flames out which I think will be soon. I think people will be too wary of another billionaire businessman dilettante running for POTUS. At least Bloomberg has had a long time interest in governance and some experience.
An MSNBC spokesperson told the Washington Free Beacon that Schmidt is not a contributor while he advises Schultz on the bid, adding the timing was due to moves by Schultz this week that made his candidacy more real. An IQ Media search showed Schmidt hadn't appeared on MSNBC as a a contributor since Jan. 8.

Does anyone know how much the regular commentators get paid? Is it a per appearance basis or a salaried contract? Given the type of news day, some of them seem to appear at all hours and multiple programs in one day. Matt Miller and Chuck Rosenberg have been in heavy rotation recently, starting with Morning Joe and appearing in the evening news programs.
Do the reporters who appear get paid at all? It's an obligation for their newspaper and a significant time commitment.

My boyfriend always asks if they set up cots at MSNBC studios for Jeremy Bash, Jill Wine-Banks, Mimi Rocah, et al., because they seem to be there all day long.
Brian Williams has been slurring various words and phrases the past few nights. I’m not saying he seems drunk; I know he took a few sick days a week ago or so. It’s just weird to hear him trip over words here & there because he’s never done it before. Anyone else notice?
by Anonymous | reply 370 | February 1, 2019 5:02 AM |
Aha! Good catch. I often watch his show, just out of exhaustion with the news - I figure any breaking stuff that particular evening will be mentioned on his show as the last one. There's always been something weird to me about his style - I don't know how to describe it. Slick, reminiscent of Dean Martin in the old days, when he pretended to be drunk - sort of smoothly, lightly, wittily, introducing someone or throwing a question over. A light buzz might explain it? And I do like him but get narcissistic vibes - still - even after the scandal. Oh well, none of these hosts can be perfect - I'm just glad we're allowed somebody on the center-left instead of Fox/Pravda 24/7 which I fear is where we're headed. Is Sinclair still gonna take over all the local outlets and turn them into redneck talk radio, along with sports and then weather for the farmers and truckdrivers.

I rarely go, "Wow," when I watch a show on MSNBC, but tonight I said just that after Lawrence O'Donnell did a segment on Socialism and Sports Socialism. I hope it's available somewhere online soon. When he's good, he's the best. (Sorry, Rachel.)
I was thinking about Democratic Socialism today after Peggy Noonan did a condescending, passive-aggressive attack of AOC on Twitter today.
by Anonymous | reply 403 | February 7, 2019 4:10 AM |
Lawrence's segment was great.
But people on the left incl. msnbc evening show hosts are wrong in perpetuating the confusion about "democratic socialism" vs social democracy.
This is the definition of "democratic socialism" on Wiki:
Democratic socialism is a political philosophy that advocates political democracy alongside social ownership of the means of production with an emphasis on self-management and democratic management of economic institutions within a market or some form of decentralized planned socialist economy.
Whenever there is actual 'socialism", there is a nationalization of the economy - for example, Eastern European socialism as it was. The other feature is in politics: the communist parties' monopoly on power and ideology, aka leftist authoritarianism. These two features are what is called socialism (as the first stage of communism according to the Leninist ideology).
What the msnbc hosts etc. have in mind is "social democracy" which is the Western European model of the welfare state with its variations (one is the Scandinavian model which is, I suppose, what Bernie advocates). They should be clear and not conflate the two just because Bernie and AOC are stupidly (or not?) calling themselves socialists.
If you call yourself a socialist, you by definition support the authoritarian model of one-party rule and monopoly of power. Which actually applies best to the current crop of Rethugs and the aspiring authoritarian in the WH.

I disagree. I think one must really define the term as you intend to use it. It is simply used very broadly for a wide range of things, and there is no general agreement on it’s default meaning. For example, R404 writes: [italic] “Whenever there is actual 'socialism", there is a nationalization of the economy - for example, Eastern European socialism as it was.” [/italic] But which “Eastern European socialism“? Hungarian, where they had Goulash Socialism? Or non-aligned Yugoslavian? Or Stalinist Albanian?
There have been a lot of varieties of Socialism in practice. Without explanation, there just isn’t a way to really understand what this term is supposed to mean.
I disagree. I think one must really define the term as you intend to use it. It is simply used very broadly for a wide range of things, and there is no general agreement on it’s default meaning.
No, one cannot define a term as one intends to use it, and there very well is a default meaning. The definition of socialism is from Marxist-Leninist theory, and it always contains social ownership of the means of production, be it through nationalization of industry or collectivization of agriculture. The fundamental feature of socialism as the first stage towards communism is the abolition of private property of the means of production in order to do away with exploitation of the working class. That's the very basics of socialism in a nutshell.
[R404] writes: “Whenever there is actual 'socialism", there is a nationalization of the economy - for example, Eastern European socialism as it was.” But which “Eastern European socialism“? Hungarian, where they had Goulash Socialism? Or non-aligned Yugoslavian? Or Stalinist Albanian?
Non-aligned status had to do with non-membership in blocs, not the national economy. In both Yugoslavia, Hungary and Albania the economy was nationalized. The specifics had some variations but the fundamental principle was the same - nationalization / collectivization in industry and agriculture. None of these three countries you mention kept private enterprises, especially in industry. Goulash Socialism was more about mechanisms such as decentralization in planning, trade and price setting, not about the basic principle of who owns the economy.
Social democracy, however, doesn't require abolition of private economic ownership and capitalism as an economic model. Here's the Wiki definition which is pretty much the basics:" Social democracy is a political, social, and economic ideology that supports economic and social interventions to promote social justice within the framework of a liberal democratic polity and capitalist economy."

R417, the definition of “socialism” has a few possibilities, no matter what you wish. And I’m not arguing about this after this post. You need only link to a dictionary to see the multiple definitions. Other people use other definitions than you do, big surprise.
Since it has varied, though related definitions, you should specify how you are using the word if it is not obvious. Someone here has made a habit of arguing over the definition of the word. That’s boring. It’s been done.
As for Eastern Europe, Hungary, at least, had some private property for years before 1989. See the link. Cuba has it today. There are few black and white things in the human realm. Physics and math, yes, but not humans.

by Anonymous | reply 425 | February 12, 2019 10:30 PM |
R424, in the parlance of the EE socialist parties private property isn't the same as private enterprise ownership. A lot of the socialist regimes kept small private businesses like trades or shops where the owner was basically the only or one of the few/ a dozen employees and their so-called businesses were severely regulated by the state-party. Small land plots were also allowed here and there for personal use. The article about Hungary says what I said. The big changes happened in the 80's of course, with Poland and the rest.
Don't know how you missed that I specified twice already how I "use the word". It's from Marxist-Leninist theory and it's the "definition" which the communist parties put in practice where they came to power. I lived through it as a kid and had to sit through all the indoctrinating ideology classes in school, so I know what I speak of.

I'm surprised at the not-hot comments about Robert Costa. I think he's got a very pretty face - even before he lost the weight. And a gentle, soothing, sexy voice. So I don't get it - he's hot in my book. And so is Anderson Cooper. I'm probably forgetting somebody, but those are the only two newsguys I think are hot, off hand. Certainly not Ari Melber, who's seems so dopey to me. Overly earnest or something. Just ugh. I kinda sorta think Willie Geist is cute - there's a sweet gentleness about him, though he's not pretty like Costa and Coop.

When Chris Hayes was a new anchor, the camera once cut to him prematurely and caught him doing a really, really, really deep breathing exercise in preparation for going on. I’m surprised he didn’t pass out as a result. It was cute.
He also, clearly, fusses with his hair a lot. When he was new, it was always seriously styled, but not usually in the same way, from day to day. I know he has two or three kids but I am certain he’s more Gay than not. Maybe he’ll fly out of the closet some day. Hope he doesn’t wait too long, he’s looking more and more like Keith Olbermann every day.

He doesn't style his hair for TV, the hair and makeup people do.
And the implication that straight men with good / great hair don't fuss or take care or style it, is preposterous. Men will always want to have great hair.

You couldn’t have assembled people with more HEINOUS SKELETONS in their closets, and if you just look at the Trump — I’m sorry are we not able to say that out loud?" as the panel gasps. As we were wondering about the status of Jonathan Lemire and Nicolle Wallace's marriages due to the absence of their wedding bands, it appears it was another on-air personality who may have had a pecadillo. I didn't read the DM story, but their headline:
Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank 'was allegedly having an affair with MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle and sought her advice over that of his board while flying her around on private jet'
At least , it seems like Ruhle has the background to provide sound advice. Didn't watch her shows today, so don't know if there was any visible fallout.

by Anonymous | reply 522 | February 23, 2019 5:39 AM |
What a bizarre train wreck that crossover was. They apparently pieced together the LO show for the replay, with Joy replacing James Lui, but I'm not sure if she's working with the previously recorded segment with David K. Johnston, etc. or if it's a new segment altogether.
MSNBC's been having big sound problems with remotes lately, including in the Maddow show the other night. Joy's sound in the replacement show sounds a bit 'off'. Agree that James Lui did a remarkable job given the circumstances.
by Anonymous | reply 523 | February 23, 2019 6:18 AM |
I wish they would stop loading the shows with so many guest that they really can't talk to any one person respectfully and give somebody time to really get their point across, Joy is having a hard time managing her huge group of talking heads this morning by stepping on each other so that you really can't hear what they are saying. I like more of the panel type shows like Up as far as having a group of guest where they actually give people a chance to speak.
by Anonymous | reply 524 | February 23, 2019 4:21 PM |
There also seems to be a bit of a delay this morning. It seems to take a few seconds longer than normal for Joy's comments to reach her guests and vice versa. Perhaps it's leftover sound issues from last night.

Maybe, but it could actually be a single point of failure, like an audio processor box that all the remote audio goes through (Joy was out of the studio, in 'snow country' as she said, last night).
NBC is a union shop with lots of money, and usually good with technical stuff.

A transcript of an interview with the guy who asked the question that set Steve off, Adam Levine, explaining more about the situation from Slate. Apparently, Steve told Adam and Elise he was "exploring" what the 3rd party candidacy of Schultz might mean, and the next thing they heard was that he had been hired by Schultz and the candidacy was a likely thing - so they decided to hold his feet to the fire about how that might get Trump elected - and I don't know if they asked Schmidt about this - but Levine was upset that Schultz had called Ocasio-Cortez "un-American" for proposing a wealth tax which he says has racist undertones, a la birtherism.

The show I used to like to drink my coffee too has become a real bore. And don't get me started on those shit stains John Podhoretz and Noah Rothman being on WAY to often. Plus she has a condescending way about her - "I, I, I, me, me, me."
by Anonymous | reply 546 | February 24, 2019 9:16 PM |
She's right - she is cute - beautiful in fact. But what is this about Kamala (and Warren?) saying they're in favor of reparations? You don't lead with your most controversial stances, even if they're in your eventual plans. Surely any politician worth his or her salt knows to tack to the middle to win - THEN try to enact your controversial plans.
And didn't Kamala also say she's fine with insurance companies going out of business? Once again... you don't SAY that, gurl! You might intend to do that, fine, but don't give them all that ammunition to go after you.
My dream ticket used to be Biden/Harris but with all these ladies' missteps, I'm thinking Biden/Brown and lock that goddamned Midwest up tighter than a rock - bring back the blue wall!
by Anonymous | reply 547 | February 24, 2019 9:55 PM |

Why does Rachel take a minute telling her guest she has a question about such and such and then ask if they will stay through the commercial break to answer the question? It's not as if she has people on for hours and and she is really asking too much by asking them to stay a bit longer. They were literally on for 5 or 6 minutes max and I am sure for many they feel short changed anyway. I hate that kind of stupid patter.

I have a problem with all the enabling NYC socialite pieces of shit who ever entertained being friends with Trump over the years. They all keep saying everyone in NYC knew how sleazy Trump's business is, so why were they friends with him? I mean it's better than staying loyal but still off-putting.
and Donny trying to sweeten Cohen's image on MSNBC all day today was annoying too. No Donny, Cohen is not a "good man". He's a piece of shit who got caught and only then decided to turn on Trump. While that's better than holding out a la Manafort and Stone, Cohen is no hero and not a good person. Good people do not become fixers who threaten people and lie for money

Poor insecure Scarborough, he cant control his jealousy that Donny deutsch knows Cohen well....he so smarmy when he lets Donny talk a bit, interrupting ad nauseum per usual..
How does he keep from being fired, that is the question on many lips... The man just wont let guests talk, his monologues are pitiful.

Delightful show when Joe is gone, insightful panelists get a chance to express complete thoughts, Joes habit of interrupting is weird... The group of intellectuals they have on a lot is great, but his presence puts a pall on the proceedings. You can feel the tension when he on set.

Was Deutsch really that close to Donald or was it one of those superficial relationships based on running in the same business or social circles? Deutsch ran an ad agency and I imagine he got quite a bit of business from the Trump Org and had to do a fair amount of glad-handing and brown-nosing.
I'm watching last night's Lawrence O'Donnell show and it was delicious to hear him, Tim O'Brien, and Mimi Rocha on the panel discuss the potential unraveling of the TO through RICO investigations. Deutsch said that what came up in the hearing is tip of the iceberg material...
Does Deutsch have Parkinson's? I noticed a slight head tremor and he rested his chin on his hand for a good part of the discussion as though to stabilize. The symptoms do worsen at night.
