As a kid I remember watching a talk show hosted by Rona Barrett with Joanna Barnes as her co-host. Joanna was always so elegant. I loved that show. Obviously I was a gayling.
There was Pat Boone in the morning with a talk show. He appeared in the opening credits on a diving board and he was HOT.
Dick Cavett had a day-time talk show.
I loved the David Susskind show.
Steve Allen had a talk show in the 60s. David Letterman stole everything from him.
Steve Allen's show and The Merv Griffin Show (when he had a daytime talk show from the Little Theatre in NYC with Arthur Treacher) were my favorites.
The Joey Bishop Show that nobody watched.
In the early 1980s Toni Tennille had a show.
Look, I'm old enough to remember ...maybe I was 5 years old....watching Arthur Godfrey's morning talk show. I loved Gisele Mackenzie.

Is anyone here old enough to remember The Les Crane Show?
It was on in the mid-late 1960s and Les, who was really hot and handsome and cool, actually was a bit of a threat to Johnny Carson, who hadn't quite gotten his footing on The Tonight Show. I've searched but never found many videos or decent photos of Les online.
Bonus point: Les was married to DL Fave Tina Louise.

I remember watching Lauren Hutton’s show late at night. It was a one-on-one interview show with no audience, like Charlie Rose and Tom Snyder. Love that format. Hutton was a shitty interviewer, unfortunately.

[Quote]I don’t think I saw Queen Latifa....My mother loved her show.
I liked the second version of her show. I thought it was much better than Steve Harvey's talk show. How he's still on the air is a mystery to me. He sucks.

I remember and liked that show, especially Lauren's interview with Cyndi Lauper--who, of course, added a lot of energy to the proceedings.

R38 I remember the Les Crane show but I think it was in syndication...it wasn't a network show.

I was one of the 10 or 20 people who ADORED Charles Grodin's talk show.
I giggled at his facial expressions and his speaking manner. He was bright, too.
I was disappointed when it was cancelled.

Not failed but likely forgotten today: [italic]The Joe Franklin Show.[/italic] I discovered it on basic cable as a teenager in the '80s and found it fascinatingly strange. He had the weirdest mix of legit celebrities and "Who the fuck is that?" guests. Billy Crystal used to spoof him on SNL.

One of the funniest things I ever saw was when Jim J Bullock was a guest in the Marsha Warfield show. He accidentally knocked some trinket off the table and it broke. He ran off the set crying.

^ Which reminds me of The Jim J and Tammy Faye Show. After Tammy was diagnosed with cancer the first time, she left the show and was replaced with some nobody named Ann Abernathy.

“The Other Half” starring Dick Clark, Danny Bonaduce, Mario Lopez and (some guy named) Dr. Jan Adams. It was a kinda male version of “The View”. Had to Google it because all I could remember was that it was a morning talk show starring Bonaduce and Lopez.

r61 I was a page at CBS when Marsha Warfield was taping. When the show got canceled they had a party in Marsha's dressing room. There was a joke among the pages that Marsha hated us. She never spoke to us or even looked at us. The one nice thing about the show was they fed the pages. Most shows would tape 3-6 episodes and would feed the cast and crew at lunch break but pages were usually not allowed to eat (a lot of times we were too busy hustling in the audiences between shows). Marsha's production would always make sure we had time to eat. So we go in the dressing room to day good bye. All of the crew is there and in the middle is Marsha sitting there like someone shit on her cake. One of the other pages dared me to go give Marsha a big hug. So I did, I walked over to her and she looked at me like she was gonna beat me, I threw my arm around her and said 'All of us pages are going to miss you and your show, you treated us like people." She sat there like a stone, staring at me. I just said thanks so much again and walked back to my group. One of the Producers came over and said "that was so nice." LOL.
