Christian Siriano is the new Tim Gunn, and Chinless Wonder Nina Garcia is sticking with "Project Runway"!

Karli Kloss is replacing Heidi Klum. Brandon Maxwell replaces Zach Posen.

Who I am kidding, I am going to watch.

Have nonidea of who Kloss is, but Siriano is an excellent replacement for Gunn, at least in terms of entertainment value. I will give it a try.

by Anonymousreply 1October 10, 2018 11:27 PM

Karlie Kloss is the fiancee of Jared Kushner's liberal brother. For whatever that's worth.

by Anonymousreply 2October 10, 2018 11:30 PM

I thought Kloss was Taylor Swift's girlfriend.

by Anonymousreply 3October 10, 2018 11:35 PM

Yes, I know certain posters here have tried to claim that Kloss and Swift were scissoring, and she is a beard for Joshua Kushner.

by Anonymousreply 4October 10, 2018 11:40 PM

Whatever, she's marrying Kushner.

by Anonymousreply 5October 10, 2018 11:44 PM

I know Heidi and Tim have said Bravo wanted them to take a huge paycut. I wonder if Nina accepted a pay cut, or they were willing to pay her.

Nina Garcia is now editor in chief of Elle, she is legitimately of huge importance in the Fashion World. That is, if this show wants to pretend to be about fashion and not just be reality TV entertainment.

by Anonymousreply 6October 10, 2018 11:46 PM

Siriano will be a horrible mentor.

by Anonymousreply 7October 10, 2018 11:53 PM

It will be a different show without Heidi and Tim but change can be a good thing.

by Anonymousreply 8October 10, 2018 11:55 PM

I think losing Tim is tragic.

by Anonymousreply 9October 10, 2018 11:57 PM

I watched for Tim.

Anyone up to anything should have a ‘Tim’ in their corner.

by Anonymousreply 10October 11, 2018 12:31 AM

Agree, R10. This is going to tank, especially if they insist on choosing the cast based on diversity as opposed to real talent, which is the way the show had been going. It's a children's show now with Siriano and Kloss. I don't even know who Brandon Maxwell is.

by Anonymousreply 11October 11, 2018 12:35 AM

I'm in the fashion/advertising industry and I don't even know Brandon Maxwell. I guess we will see how Siriano does, he has his own legit fashion design business but I still don't like his designs.

by Anonymousreply 12October 11, 2018 12:41 AM

Tim knows fashion AND how to mentor.

by Anonymousreply 13October 11, 2018 1:06 AM

I watched for Tim too. But I have to Say Siriano is an interesting choice. I absolutely love his designs. He's going to be more bitchy, direct and far less cozy than Tim, but I'm glad they didn't try to find a Tim 2.0 type. There can be only one!

by Anonymousreply 14October 11, 2018 1:10 AM

But Christian didn’t win Project Runway. That horse face nobody won! Does horse face get to mentor also?

by Anonymousreply 15October 11, 2018 1:41 AM

I'm happy Zac Posen is no longer a judge. I didn't think he entertaining or insightful, just insulting.

by Anonymousreply 16October 11, 2018 1:49 AM

Zac Posen is a snotty little loser cunt with one of the worst rugs I've ever seen,

by Anonymousreply 17October 11, 2018 2:19 AM

I’m surprised but happy that CS will be on the show each week. I like him and his designs. It’s nice to have a youngish, out gay guy be his fabulous, talented self on TV.

Christian divorced his husband a few months ago. Does anyone know what went on there? They were together for many years (10?) but only married for 2 years. On recent Instagram posts, Christian seemed very cozy with a cute young guy while sailing around Greece.

My go to duo in all things fashion ‘Tom and Lorenzo’ spent a good 10 minutes of their lovely podcast discussing the PR reboot on BRAVO. I think BRAVO execs listen/read their blog.

I thought that Tom and Lorenzo had some kind of falling out with PR and didn’t write about them anymore. Guess I was mistaken.

by Anonymousreply 20October 11, 2018 4:20 AM

Siriano won his season. Maybe you're thinking of Mondo, who lost to Gretchen.

by Anonymousreply 21October 11, 2018 4:20 AM

Okay - have you bitches complaining about me designed shoes for Payless? Because I have.

by Anonymousreply 22October 11, 2018 4:23 AM

Brandon Maxwell did this dress for Michelle Obama.

Christian Siriano designed the iconic "baby doll" dress for Ariana.

[quote] iconic "baby doll" dress for Ariana.

Bwhahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Oh our sides.

by Anonymousreply 25October 11, 2018 4:35 AM

I see you use the term 'iconic' rather loosely, R24. Or, if by 'iconic' you mean 'knockoff', then yeah, Siriano succeeded.

by Anonymousreply 26October 11, 2018 4:36 AM

Mondo is better than Christian Right?

by Anonymousreply 27October 15, 2018 4:44 AM

I would have preferred Christian to be a judge and someone like Nick Verreos to be the mentor. Oh well...I'll give it a try.

by Anonymousreply 28October 15, 2018 5:04 AM

Nick would have been perfect.

by Anonymousreply 29October 15, 2018 5:08 AM

[quote]I thought that Tom and Lorenzo had some kind of falling out with PR and didn’t write about them anymore. Guess I was mistaken.

Datalounge is the only place I've ever heard this rumor. It comes up every time T&L are mentioned but I don't think there ever was any falling out.

by Anonymousreply 30October 16, 2018 12:42 PM

I think TLo got close enough to the show (hangng out with former contestants) that they saw how the sausage was being made and got turned off by it.

People still complain about designers not getting enough time and uneven judging because they care about fashion because it's hard to accept that it first and foremost a reality show, especially after it transferred to Lifetime.

They now review the show in their podcast which, when you think about it, is much faster and easier than writing copy.

by Anonymousreply 31October 16, 2018 1:02 PM

T&L announced they wouldn't cover / review Project Runway episodes anymore around the time Sean Kelly won.

by Anonymousreply 32October 16, 2018 1:45 PM

Christian Siriano as mentor? He will be quite bitchy to the contestants and make them lose confidence in their work even more quickly.

by Anonymousreply 33October 16, 2018 1:47 PM

No one notice Karli Kloss's subtle age dig at Heidi Klum in OP's article: “As someone who grew up watching ‘Project Runway.....,” said Kloss.

by Anonymousreply 34October 16, 2018 1:52 PM

As r31 said, they still cover about Project Runway on their podcast r32. It isn't like they truly ditched the show.

by Anonymousreply 35October 16, 2018 1:54 PM

But they pretty much ripped it to shreds around that time r35.

by Anonymousreply 36October 16, 2018 1:56 PM

Well yes, everyone had complaints about Project Runway as it continued on Lifetime compared to the early years r36. They were voicing the same complaints everyone else was.

by Anonymousreply 37October 16, 2018 2:02 PM

So, do T&L still cover Project Runway episodes (including All Star seasons) on their blog?

by Anonymousreply 38October 16, 2018 2:09 PM

Siriano is the worst choice. He's not interested in helping, just criticizing.

by Anonymousreply 39October 16, 2018 2:11 PM

[quote] But they pretty much ripped it to shreds around that time [R35].

So did pretty much everyone else.

by Anonymousreply 40October 16, 2018 2:24 PM

I might tune in briefly if they let him say "hot, tranny mess" again.

by Anonymousreply 41October 16, 2018 3:20 PM

Some of you clearly never watched Project Runway Juniors where Siriano gave a lot of constructive advice as a judge.

People adjust their behavior for the role they are meant to play. Siriano as mentor isn't going to be the same as Sirano as a contestant, he is there to play a different role.

by Anonymousreply 42October 16, 2018 4:22 PM

Keep in mind Siriano was 21 when he was a contestant, living the intern struggling to survive life. It’s been over a decade, he’s matured and is a millionaire now. He’s very politically vocal, and his brand is focused on inclusive/diversity. I don’t think he will be a harsh or rude mentor honestly.

He was very thoughtful and a good judge on project runway junior.

by Anonymousreply 43November 2, 2018 9:47 PM

Can Karlie Kloss string a sentence together? She doesn't look that bright.

by Anonymousreply 44November 2, 2018 9:51 PM

Anyone who marries into the Kushner family couldn't be very bright. I find it hard not to think about that every time I see her.
