I assume she's 100% out now.
She was stunning in her day.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 9, 2018 5:46 AM |
That's a rough looking 58.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 9, 2018 6:01 AM |
She was a big tv star back then, in the 80s, but she never had a boyfriend or husband. So she's gay?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 9, 2018 6:06 AM |
She looks fine.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 9, 2018 6:08 AM |
Oh,she just might be a flyover straight woman.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 9, 2018 6:08 AM |
Wow, it's so rare to see an actress who obviously doesn't give a rat's ass about her looks!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 9, 2018 6:09 AM |
She looks like that girl from Arrested Development.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 9, 2018 6:26 AM |
She looks great. Is she DL icon-ish? She should be, after her performances in "The Babysitter" (opposite the late, great Miss Patty Duke) and in the Hallmark Hall of Fame tearjerker, "Caroline?"
She and Kelly McGillis would be a cool couple.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 9, 2018 6:26 AM |
"The Babysitter" was fun, even though I can't stand William Shatner. Her career really tanked in the 90s.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 9, 2018 6:30 AM |
He was kind of a dork in that, r10. I think Zimbalist's character should've gone for Patty instead of (or in addition to) Shatner. If they do a Lifetime remake, that's the route to take.
And yes, shame about Ms. Zimbalist's career in the 90s.
Did anyone ever watch the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series (shudders)? I've never seen an episode or heard of it before, but SZ guested on it in 2000.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 9, 2018 6:40 AM |
But is she the most mysterious woman that guy was trying to figure out with the old black and white photo?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 9, 2018 6:43 AM |
She's always a mystery woman, r12. I wish she'd gotten stronger roles as she aged. Maybe Ryan Murphy or Jenji Kohan could use her?
And oddly enough, today is her birthday; she's turning 62. Maybe the OP knew that.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 9, 2018 6:45 AM |
I have tried to find Hallmark Hall of Fame tearjerker, "Caroline?" on DVD with no success. I used to have it on vidotape and have watched it multiple times.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 9, 2018 6:46 AM |
Caroline? is really an excellent movie.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 9, 2018 7:02 AM |
Porcelana would do her face wonders.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 9, 2018 7:06 AM |
Here she is from a video about 1 or 2 years ago talking about her faith.
It's obvious that she didn't do any enhancements or surgeries. So if you grade on that curve, she's looking good.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 9, 2018 7:26 AM |
“So shines a good deed in a weary world.”
Thank You, R15.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 9, 2018 7:29 AM |
R20 Yes, she has aged naturally and looks like herself, not a botoxed replicant.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 9, 2018 7:34 AM |
R22 but sun damaged and ugly af. Get an umbrella, a visor, some fucking Olay.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 9, 2018 7:39 AM |
She was always freckled, even in Remington Steele days. She's no doubt out to her friends, but doesn't feel the need for a big announcement since her stardom waned 30+ years ago. She looks happy.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 9, 2018 7:41 AM |
Never found her interesting.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 9, 2018 7:46 AM |
She looks GREAT. If she had worn sunblock or a hat, it would have helped enormously.
That said--what a beauty.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 9, 2018 7:51 AM |
Freckles are cute at any age.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 9, 2018 7:52 AM |
She's 62.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 9, 2018 8:59 AM |
She was supposed to do the Nancy Allen role in Robocop but had to bow out because of RS.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 9, 2018 9:29 AM |
I have always admired her, and thought she was beautiful. She has a certain grace about her, and I don't mean that in any connection to the clip of her discussing her faith. I think the majority of possters on DL are unnaturally harsh on everyone as they age, even when they look fine. I find her voice very calming and peaceful too in R20.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 9, 2018 10:27 AM |
Wow an actor who has left TV, has created a comfortable life for themselves, stays busy by acting on stage, hasn't wandered into the plasticine world of Botox and more and is still vilified by a few here on DL.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 9, 2018 10:56 AM |
ugly - now.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 9, 2018 11:00 AM |
Her father was quite handsome. Wish I could post a pic but I suck at it.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 9, 2018 11:17 AM |
I saw her play Miss Fellowes, the repressed lesbian character, in a stage version of “The Night of the Iguana.” She did a great job.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 9, 2018 11:33 AM |
Still bitter as fuck! I hate this bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 9, 2018 12:14 PM |
In that pic at R20 she looks somewhat like Carrie Fisher.
Maybe she could stand in for Leia In the next Star Wars movie.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 9, 2018 12:15 PM |
no shit, r36.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 9, 2018 12:16 PM |
Dig deeper Remington
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 9, 2018 12:41 PM |
What is Zimbalism?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 9, 2018 1:29 PM |
And grandfather Efram Senior was a violinist, composer, conductor and director of the Curtis Institute.
My Contracts casebook included a case about Efram Sr buying a violin. I can't remember the details, but that's where I learned senior was also a performer.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 9, 2018 1:56 PM |
They could make her Murphy's love interest on Murphy Brown.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 9, 2018 2:00 PM |
R20, that Jesus Saves video is from 12 years ago.
She comes from a Jewish family but I guess she was brought up Christian.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 9, 2018 2:17 PM |
All she needs is some foundation besides that she looks wonderful. This is what most middle aged women look like without makeup on even if they’ve done something
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 9, 2018 2:26 PM |
[quote]So she's gay?
She's DL gay. That is all that matters here.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 9, 2018 2:28 PM |
She's ALWAYS had gay rumors, hence that old "looking for Mr. right" PR fluff piece from the 80s. She never pinged;she GONGED!
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 9, 2018 3:03 PM |
Efram Zimbalist Junior sounds like the name of a Mormon founder or a televangelist, but they weren't Mormon. Really churchy though - Efrem Zimbalist stated, "As far as I am concerned, there has been no Jew in the family for sixty-five years." This probably kept Steph in the closet.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 9, 2018 3:12 PM |
Pierce Brosnan was the prettier of the two and got the most press attention.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 9, 2018 3:17 PM |
R43 The history of her family is that they were pretty much atheist Jews. Non-observing anything, until Stephanie was introduced to Episcopalian tradition. She has said in interviews before that both sides of her family (think her mother was Hungarian-Jewish) were all very eager to leave the identity of being Jewish back in the old country.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 10, 2018 2:39 PM |
Such a brave girl to embrace sun damage and eschew makeup. Atta girl!
by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 10, 2018 3:01 PM |
He was best known for starring in "THE F.B.I. ... in color!"
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 11, 2018 12:08 AM |
Always liked her.
I think I'll dig out my copy of "Caroline?".
She was also in one of my favorite Christmas movies "The Gathering".
by Anonymous | reply 53 | October 11, 2018 12:26 AM |
She looks good for 62. And I never thought of her as gay, but now I see it.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 11, 2018 12:40 AM |
Efram Zimbalist first got well known for his role (can't remember the name) in the 60s show "77 Sunset Strip" with Edd (Cookie) Byrnes, who became a teen idol for a time. He had a hit song "Cookie, Cookie, Lend Me Your Comb" because he wore his hair in a pompadour (Elvis style) with a comb tucked over his ear so he could comb his hair all the time. Zimbalist's was a private eye. It was a very popular show--don't remember the exact dates. He was a very good looking 40ish man in that show. Oh yeah, and Zimbalist's costar was Roger Smith, who married Ann-Margaret, and developed muscular dystrophy or something like that quite young, but she stayed married to him for many years, I guess until he died (maybe 10 years ago--he lived a long time considering he was more or less paralyzed). Roger Smith was a hunk back then. I'm too lazy to post photos.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 11, 2018 12:40 AM |
R15 Thank you. I also tried to find a copy. I watched it with my mom as a gayling and we both loved it.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | October 11, 2018 12:43 AM |
R55 77 Sunset Strip is on every morning on MeTV.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | October 11, 2018 12:46 AM |
Efrem Zimbalist Jr, Stephanie's father - his character's name on "77 Sunset Strip" was Stuart (Stu) Bailey.
Roger Smith's character's name was "Jefferson (Jeff) Spencer".
And Edd Byrnes full name was "Gerald Lloyd Cookson III", AKA Kookie.
Don't ask me how or why I remember this, but yes, I watched it as a kid.
It was the first of those detective shows put out by Warner Brothers. Later shows were "Hawaiian Eye", "Bourbon Street Beat" and "Surfside Six".
I watched them all. That was how, at a young age, I realized they were all using the same plots, rotating the stories from one show to another.
"Hawaiian Eye" starred Anthony Eisley and Robert Conrad with Connie Stevens.
"Bourbon Street Beat" starred Richard Long, Andrew Duggan and Van Williams who later transferred to "Surfside 6".
"Surfside Six" starred Van Williams, Lee Patterson, Troy Donahue and Diane McBain.

She did lots of TV movies after RS, but not much else.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | November 4, 2018 3:51 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 60 | November 4, 2018 4:00 AM |
Didn't she play the lead in the TV movie "The Karen Carpenter Story"? Or am I thinking of someone else?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | November 4, 2018 4:15 AM |
That was Cynthia Gibb.
