Most Hated State

...by Liberals, that is. Obviously California for Deporables. I'd say Texas draws the most disdain from the Liberal side.

They are alll flyover shitstains

by Anonymousreply 1October 2, 2018 4:56 AM

Missouri and Kansas should be on there too. Those places along with Oklahoma frighten me. Florida, Texas, Arizona, and Louisiana all have liberal islands of one sort or another within their borders. West Virginia may be worse than all since it’s so white. Hard to pick just one.

by Anonymousreply 2October 2, 2018 5:00 AM

R2 Nebraska the flyover corn hell hole also

by Anonymousreply 3October 2, 2018 5:06 AM

I say Oklahoma. Both OK and WV went for Trump in every single county. Oklahoma has more people and worse landscape than West Virginia. Ergo...

by Anonymousreply 4October 2, 2018 5:18 AM

I picked Oklahoma as well. And I live in Missouri, which is not much better

by Anonymousreply 5October 2, 2018 5:19 AM

Florida: Pulse nightclub, laws encouraging universal gun proliferation, stand-your-ground, laws that support opioid addiction (and that shield big pharma from responsibility), stealing the presidency from Al Gore, hanging chads, Mar-A-Lago, and general assholeism.

by Anonymousreply 6October 2, 2018 5:22 AM

I voted for Kentucky because they gave us both McConnell and that poser Rand Paul. If the Carolinas had been on there, I might have voted one of them.

by Anonymousreply 7October 2, 2018 5:42 AM

Oklahoma. The people are idiots. And that’s an insult to idiots the world over.

by Anonymousreply 8October 2, 2018 5:46 AM

Texas has a lot of large liberal bastions - many more red spots than OK, MS, AL

by Anonymousreply 9October 2, 2018 5:47 AM

You failed to mention Indiana, home of Pence.

by Anonymousreply 10October 2, 2018 5:50 AM

New York has lost a lot of the affinity it gained from 9/11.

by Anonymousreply 11October 2, 2018 5:59 AM

Louisiana shouldn't be on the list. We have a Democratic governor, and Baton Rouge and New Orleans have largely Democratic governments. Democrats outnumber Republicans among registered voters. And until a decade or so ago, we sent Democrats to congress. And, historically, we had Huey and Earl Long.

by Anonymousreply 12October 2, 2018 6:01 AM

Indiana or Oklahoma

by Anonymousreply 13October 2, 2018 2:22 PM

I once spoke to a University President who had lived in both Texas and Oklahoma and she told me that Texas was a liberal bastion compared to Oklahoma.

by Anonymousreply 14October 2, 2018 2:44 PM

I'l say TX because it controls so much of the textbook trade in the US...with terrible books.

by Anonymousreply 15October 2, 2018 2:46 PM

Forget about Texas. Its turning blue before too long.

by Anonymousreply 16October 2, 2018 3:07 PM

Arizona! Desert rat scum!

by Anonymousreply 17October 2, 2018 3:10 PM

Nevada is actually a deep red state, despite the fact that it is depicted as blue or purple. Yes, Hillary won Nevada by a tiny margin. But that was from Democratic voters in the two big cities (Las Vegas and Reno). Remove those two cities and the rest of Nevada is deeply Republican. The county I live in went to Trump by 75%.

by Anonymousreply 18October 2, 2018 3:25 PM

Georgia.

by Anonymousreply 19October 2, 2018 3:28 PM

Remove Clark County and Washoe County and there is barely anyone left in Nevada. There are a lot of "Don't Tread on Me" sovereign citizen types living out in the outback but their numbers are much smaller than a state filled with them like Oklahoma. Less churchy too which is a boon.

by Anonymousreply 20October 2, 2018 3:31 PM

Miss Lindsey Graham is from South Carolina.

by Anonymousreply 21October 2, 2018 3:55 PM

Yeah, its true Arizona is a shithole of under-educated deplorable scum. We drive through it regularly on our way to Palm Springs and just a few pit stops for gas and food tell you all you need to know about the place. No idea why the gays live there.

by Anonymousreply 22October 2, 2018 4:10 PM

R18, do many people in NV live outside of those two cities?

by Anonymousreply 23October 2, 2018 4:20 PM

I've lived in Texas for several years-- there are drastically more Beto and Valdez signs, shirts and stickers than Cruz/Paxton/Conservative anything in my dull north Dallas suburb.

by Anonymousreply 24October 2, 2018 5:52 PM

Florida followed by Texas as far as horrible politicians and people.

by Anonymousreply 25October 2, 2018 6:07 PM

Oh, and Arizona of course.

by Anonymousreply 26October 2, 2018 6:08 PM

My partner's horrible family is from TX, so I have extra reason to loathe it.

by Anonymousreply 27October 2, 2018 6:12 PM

Jackson, the capital of Mississippi, is actually pretty liberal and filled with lots of open minded, interesting people. Whites and blacks living in peace with each other, gays walking around without too much judgement, etc. Once you start getting into the smaller towns, though...holy shit. It's terrifying.

by Anonymousreply 28October 2, 2018 7:04 PM

Florida is the one that always creates the most social and political problems, Texas is the most powerful, Mississippi is the most embarrassing, Oklahoma is the most hardcore conservative.

by Anonymousreply 29October 2, 2018 7:11 PM

Johnny and June spoke very highly of it, r28....

by Anonymousreply 30October 2, 2018 7:18 PM

Oklahoma has given us Brad Pitt, the late James Garner, Lee Pace, and James Marsden. Nice eye candy, but it doesn't make up for their majority's politics.

by Anonymousreply 31October 2, 2018 8:45 PM

hard to hate pathetic shitholes of poverty, ignorance, racism and addiction like WVa, SC, MS, etc. Much easier to hate powerful bastions of assholery and douchiness like TX and FL as they do so much damage to the rest of the country with their electoral votes.

by Anonymousreply 32October 2, 2018 9:08 PM

Canada. Horrid "nation."

by Anonymousreply 33October 2, 2018 9:14 PM

Alabama and WV have some of the dumbest people on earth.

by Anonymousreply 34October 2, 2018 9:50 PM

Mississippi should just be nuked. Disgusting POS state, full of the worst people.

by Anonymousreply 35October 2, 2018 10:18 PM

r31 Brad Pitt was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri.

by Anonymousreply 36October 2, 2018 10:21 PM

God needs to send more natural disasters their way.

by Anonymousreply 37October 2, 2018 10:24 PM

New York. Because Trump.

End of thread.

by Anonymousreply 38October 2, 2018 10:26 PM

No i remember in an interview a while back, he said he was born in ok, r36.

by Anonymousreply 39October 2, 2018 10:27 PM

Don Johnson and Kathleen Turner also both originated in that godforsaken corner of Missouri, along with Brad Pitt (raised there from a toddler, but born in OK). Anyway, not to be racial but Alabama and Mississippi have a lot of fun people of color, but their white populations, well...

by Anonymousreply 40October 2, 2018 10:30 PM

Nah, Texas has potential. Especially if Beto wins in November, then expect the Democratic party to go all in on Texas and for the Southwest to turn into a Liberal mecca.

However, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, and Oklahoma...tsk tsk...

by Anonymousreply 41October 2, 2018 10:38 PM

Dallas is the best city in the USA!

The GAP at NorthPark Center is the best GAP in the world!

DALLAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

r30 Most people believe that song is supposed to be about Jackson, TN, not Jackson, MS.

by Anonymousreply 43October 2, 2018 11:41 PM

Surprised WVa didn't win, every liberal i know that's driven through there comments on how its a beautiful place but its citizens are trapped in 1950s lifestyle and mentality.

by Anonymousreply 44October 3, 2018 12:15 AM

Not so fast, Louisiana. You have north Louisiana, which is a terrifying hellhole... But, for the title of most hated state, I think that honor has to go to Mississippi (which is essentially the same as north Louisiana).

by Anonymousreply 45October 3, 2018 12:29 AM

If you people hate Texas so much, why do you keep moving here? We don't need any more Jersey transplants, so kindly take your hate and fuck right back off to the tristate area.

by Anonymousreply 46October 3, 2018 12:31 AM

Alabama is the place that most comes to mind when I consider where the most backward, backwoods people on Earth could be.

You know, people like Judge Roy Moore and all those who voted for him.

I'm going with Texas. Places like Alabama, are ignorant but you almost feel sorry for them.

Texas combines racism, oversized ego, and entitlement with that ignorance. Nobody loves killing people like a Texan.

by Anonymousreply 48October 3, 2018 12:46 AM

'Cept people from Chicago, r48.

by Anonymousreply 49October 3, 2018 12:48 AM

What about Pennsylvania, since it is primarily responsible for Trump's victory? Flipping from a reliably blue state in recent years, to decisively red in favor of Trump.

by Anonymousreply 50October 3, 2018 12:52 AM

I've been to Oklahoma ---OKC.. Right wing HELLHOLE. I've never known more Gay People who were victims of crime than in Oklahoma. Gays are even bashed at the PRIDE PARADES. No joke. I once went to the hospital to pick up a friend who was gay bashed----and the COP told me at the hospital "Let us know if you want us to investigate"====think about that----the POLICE tell a man BEATEN TO A PULP for leaving a gay bar---to let THEM know if THEY should investigate. I literally knew people who were killed and filed under "unsolved crimes"..I left, I couldn't handle seeing friends robbed, bashed, and even killed. I know Texas gets more publicity but at least the have Gay Neighborhoods like Oak Lawn where Gays are SAFE.

Nevada population: 3,056,824 total

Clark County (Las Vegas area): 2,204,079 (72.1% of total)

Washoe County (Reno area): 460,587 (15.1% of total)

Rest of Nevada: 392,158 (12.8% of total)

It's those 392,158 who blanket the rest of the state outside the "blue islands" of Reno and Vegas that really make it a sea of deep red. In fact they were so alarmed by Hillary's narrow win in 2016 that there is a small campaign to "Make Nevada Red Again."

by Anonymousreply 52October 3, 2018 3:37 AM

Having traveled around most of the US of A My worst top 3. Based on unfriendly/threatening to outsiders, aggressive ignorance, sense of barely controlled rage/aggression

Oklahoma Indiana Wyoming

by Anonymousreply 53October 3, 2018 4:59 AM

I've never been to Oklahoma myself, but everybody I know who's been there has had the same comments that are on this thread. They've all said it's a hellhole and they couldn't wait to leave.

by Anonymousreply 54October 3, 2018 5:36 AM

Lived in both, but AZ is the hemorrhoid on the ass that is TX. And MO is uncomfortable too for people with triple digit IQs.

by Anonymousreply 55October 3, 2018 6:21 AM

It's a tie between Florida and TX.

- I grew up in OK in the 70s and 80s and it was much more live and let live and blue back then. OK didn't go hard core red state until the millennium.

by Anonymousreply 56October 3, 2018 6:29 AM

[quote]Places like Alabama, are ignorant but you almost feel sorry for them

Alabama is the pedo capital of the US. Where child brides are a real thing. It’s a race to the bottom among deplorables.

by Anonymousreply 57October 3, 2018 6:34 AM

R52 take away the major cities of almost ANY state and it’s left a deep red.

by Anonymousreply 58October 3, 2018 6:37 AM

Florida, of the Hanging Chads

by Anonymousreply 59October 3, 2018 6:41 AM

R29 summed it up well!

by Anonymousreply 60October 3, 2018 6:42 AM

Singer Allison Moorer is a native of Alabama. She once described it as the armpit of America.

Then again, South Carolina was the first state to secede from the Union at the start of the Civil War.

by Anonymousreply 61October 3, 2018 7:13 AM

LOL R61, my mother always said NJ was the armpit of America. Alabama is more like the asshole of the country, no?

by Anonymousreply 62October 3, 2018 8:06 PM

No, Alabama is the taint of the country.

by Anonymousreply 63October 3, 2018 8:09 PM

West Virginia kind of IS like going back in time to the 1950s. Very odd place.

by Anonymousreply 64October 3, 2018 8:33 PM

Florida Florida Florida

How many times do we read the news, see the worst this nation has to offer and find that it came from or is occurring in Florida? It's such a freak show of ancient reactionary white people, third generation Cuban exiles and trash that blew down from the rest of the country and ran out of places to run.

Florida is nothing but trouble and skin cancer and old people smell except for the Keys, we'll keep them.

South Carolina.

by Anonymousreply 66October 4, 2018 8:42 PM

There's a poll showing that Florida is actually one of the few states both more liberals and more conservatives like than dislike.
