She likes to pretend she is a real renegade but in the end still the same as the rest of them.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 28, 2018 9:01 PM |
She's back to being "undecided". She's not joining Murkowski and Manchin in the agreement to vote no if there is no new F.B.I. background check on Kavanaugh. That doesn't sound undecided to me. She's just going to play this fucked up game until the actual floor vote a week from now. When she votes to confirm. Pressure should be brought to bear on Heitkamp to get her to go on the record too. Tester and Donnelly are voting no. Christ, all of them are cunts.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 28, 2018 9:08 PM |
I think she's worse than the other Repubs in a way. She just likes to hem and haw and make it seem like she is so moderate and bipartisan, but she ends up voting with the Republicans most of the time anyway.

She was never a swing vote. That's why she's been slinking around the back hallways in the underbelly of the Senate building avoiding everyone. She's a proven cowardly cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 28, 2018 11:27 PM |
It's when she makes the rounds on the Sunday morning news cycle voicing that she has very serious 'concerns' about an issue... (said in that doddering voice of hers) only to vote the party line.
Every. Single. Time.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 28, 2018 11:31 PM |
Wait and see how the vote order proceeds. The fun (and I mean *OMG THIS IS HILARIOUS*) part will be who: 1. waits until the last 5 minutes to vote 2. waits until the last minute to vote 3. if anyone changes their vote
The house typically uses machine voting. The Senate is more traditional and in matters like this may use a roll call vote. If so, individual members may defer their vote with pass. It will not surprise me if Jeff Flake votes "present".

Nobody is 'convicting' him of anything. He proved he is unfit to serve on the SC. Thousands of law professors, his professional org, and a former uber-conservative justice agree.
You believe Ford or you believe Kavanaugh. They can't both be telling the truth.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 6, 2018 1:48 AM |
I agree with R36. There has to be more there about her husband's Russian ties, or a debt being paid off, just like there is with Trump (money laundering via Deutschbank) and Kavanaugh (paying off his huge credit card debt, baseball ticket debt, and home improvement debts.) Look at the LincolnsBible twitter for all the Kavanaugh details.

People like her and Lindsey Graham are little more than collateral damage in the big shitshow that is Trump's presidency. As of now, they will be the target of any left leaning investigative journalist and all these GOP apparatchiks have something they can be blackmailed with, because that's how Republicans operate: the only way they can get unwavering commitment from one of these hacks is by having some dirt on them or a member of their family.

I am only seeing your post because someone else quoted it, but I feel compelled to reply.
First of all I didn't convict him, I never called him a gang rapist, (LIE MUCH) he hasn't went to trial, and I haven't made up my mind about the sexual molestation accusations because I didn't need to. Kavanaugh proved himself unfit for the Supreme Court when he lied under oath about receiving stolen Democrat papers while he worked in the Bush White House. He proved himself unfit for the Supreme Court when he wrote that no sitting US President should ever be charged with any crime, or even be investigated for any crime. He proved he is unfit when he started quoting conspiracy theories about the Clintons and turned to the Democrats at his hearing and said "What goes around, comes around". Demonstrating he would not be impartial involving any case he hears in the future involving Democrats.
The man is unfit for the Supreme Court, conservatives could have nominated any conservative justice like they did with Neil Gorsuch who went to the same Georgetown Prep as Kavanaugh without the drinking problems, without this baggage but they wanted someone who will rule in favor of Trump if he is indicted.

[quote]Even here on DL you all were calling him a gang rapist - based in zero evidence. All to hope he would step Down from the nomination.
Even if there was ZERO evidence of said rape or sexual assault, he showed everyone his true intentions: to be an agent of Trump, ready to do anything he asks. The comments about "revenge" on behalf of the Clintons should have caused any competent senator to completely disqualify him for the court. That comment is unacceptable coming from a prospective justice.

I had a sinking feeling when Flake announced that there needed to be an FBI investigation it was a ploy to conduct a minimal farcical investigation as cover to show that a cursory look was done into the allegation and come back saying there was no corroborating evidence. Everybody who voted yes had that intention from the get go. Round up the usual suspects.

R27
The country is in a really sad state right now - and the manufactured hysteria with the Democratic Party (not to mention here on DL) has really angered many moderates. I'm one of them. Anyone with half a brain cell knows that this entire "show trial" was nothing but a farce. Except Trump called their bluff and didn't have Brett K drop out.
Most of the extreme posters here are paid trolls. I firmly believe that - except they aren't Russia trolls, they are extreme leftist trolls that make 15 dollars an hour to stir shit. The rest of the posters are just a product of their brainwashing. Probably basement dwellers that have nothing else to do all day but feed into all of this nonsense. I think way too many people spend too much time on social media and are immersed in this alternate reality where it's perfectly acceptable to convict a man based on no evidence because they don't want him on the court. And to anyone that screams "this wasn't a trial" YES it was. It wasn't one in the traditional sense - but it was a public lynching.
Ford wasn't credible, she never was. Funny everyone mocked trumps comments about ford - but he was only saying what most people were thinking.
R27, I've been called a troll here many times before since the 2016 election. I've actually been on DL for 13 years - since the red dragon cheese days. I've never had an issue here - until the most recent presidential election. Only because I no longer march in blind lockstep with the Democratic Party. The party has gotten way to extreme for my tastes. But worse - They've really lost their minds!
This time 2 years ago, I warned DL that PA was looking strange. I was banned from posting on the site "Lined out" posts etc. called a concerned toll/Russia/blocked etc - but I was right - Trump won PA. I feel like posters here are living in an alternate universe lately. They don't see what's going on in the real World. They don't realize just how unhinged they've become - and most importantly they are not self aware. They don't realize how this behavior is turning people off. It's turning people away.
Like I predicted Trump and PA I also predict that because of all of this manufactured hysteria with Brett K - there will be a red wave in the midterms - bigger than is expected.
Once again the democrats have royally screwed themselves over. But in this case - they deserve what they get. I'm disgusted that a party I once was a proud member of has stooped to these levels
And now they are doing what they do best - calling Susan Collins a "cunt" because she didn't do what they wanted her to do. Newsflash - she's a republican, who was basically blackmailed during this process. Blackmailed by the democrats and PAC funding. Yet - she stood firm, and voted the way her and her constituents wanted her to vote - democratic blackmailing be damned! She's the real hero here - regardless if you agree with her or not. She also hates Soros, so I'm sure that tipped her decision.
Despite the blackmail attempts by the democrats - she gave this new party of extreme dysfunction and manufactured outrage a big old FUCK YOU!
Cheers to her!

I might have forgiven Collins if she had just voted yes and intimated that the Republican powers that be threatened her with something, maybe jobs at the Bath Iron Works. But her 45-minute speech yesterday in which she tried to rehabilitate Kavanaugh, completely glossing over the fact that he repeatedly lied while under oath and that he lacks the required judicial temperament for a seat on our highest court, was just too much. Fuck her and the horse she rode in on.

Hi, r92, I remember you. I was the poster who divided their time between NY and Pittsburgh and also posted my view that PA was going to Trump and had the same experiences as you. I believe we've bumped into each other before on other threads where we discussed our experience. If I recall there was also a third Pennsylvanian who was also saying what we were and getting shit on for it too. The joke is on everyone who FF'd us and called us a troll back then. We were right.
I've been here about 16 years now and I agree with you wholeheartedly that things here have change dramatically this past election cycle. It's very obvious that there have been a huge influx of new people who have brought rather extreme views with them. And, as far as the dysfunction you mention, derangement syndrome, whether it be Hillary or Trump Derangement Syndrome, is very real and those afflicted are oblivious to having it.

I've heard that, too, R105. I think the $2+million that has been raised would be a nice contribution for her democratic opponent in the governor's race. I would also like to see some $$ raised to fund McConnell's next democratic opponent.

I'm the poster that lives in the Philly burbs but works in Manhattan.
Thankfully there are still a few of us sane ones here :)
We've probably been on DL longer than 95% of the posters on this thread - they are the real trolls here.
I've been here since prancing ponies - yet as far as these new posters are concerned We're some Russian bots that have recently infiltrated the site. That's how delusional its become here.
Joke was on them in 2016, and it will be on them once again in November.
When will they ever learn?

We were TOLD weeks ago by her assistant that she pre approved Kavanaugh. You have to be an idiot to think she was going to do anything but vote yes. I’m amazed that anyone thought she was going to changer her mind. She voted for the devastating tax cut that will plunge us into debt and make politics even more the purview of the stinking rich. The “agreement” she had with McConnell was a feint. They both knew he wasn’t going to do it. It was kabuki for the dumbass masses.
Yes, all your pleading with Collins was for naught. All your phone calls and emails and Twitter posts were worthless. You chose to ignore the truth.
Don’t go blaming us for telling you the truth.
We will keep telling it whether you like it or not.
And btw, there is no point in contacting any but your own representatives. If you’re not in one of their zip codes, they don’t fucking care what you think or have to say. You can waste your time if you want, but don’t go telling others that it’s a worthwhile pursuit.

Another Pennsylvania DL member here. I worked the polls in November 2016. By 10 am I had spoken with three people all over 50 who all said they were voting for the first time ever in their entire lives. I knew they weren't voting for Hillary. Since then I've experienced that feeling more and more in my interactions with others throughout the state. Now I wonder if this faction is growing bigger and bigger every day.

[quote] By 10 am I had spoken with three people all over 50 who all said they were voting for the first time ever in their entire lives.
Let me guess. They were white.
White people feel ambattled. They’re going to vote for the racist white guy. When Obama was President they saw how many minority people he put in his WH and his cabinet and they didn’t like it. “He only wants his own! Look at that. I knew it! I knew he was gonna go all out surrounding himself with the blacks! That’s not in proportion! They’re only 13 percent of the population, and that’s how many should be in the government. That goddamn affirmative action!”
I know because I heard my asshole family (only my mother’s side) and asshole neighbors say those things out loud. The hatred for black people is really, really deep among white Americans.

We were FF'd to the point that we were given time outs, called trolls and worse. And, yup, we were right. It's not a sporting match, you're right, but we didn't turn it into one. There’s one insane person here who believes that if you say negative things, you will bring about negative outcomes. You must only say positive things and positive things will happen. Actually, it may be more than one person. At any rate, it’s a childish viewpoint and that person/s has a childish tantrum when anyone says, “Looking at it from my perspective, I think that x will happen and here’s why...” If you differ from her viewpoint, you’re called a troll, a bot, a Russian, etc.
You can try explaining why you believe this (instead of being a troll and just making a statement and leaving) but it doesn’t matter. You’re screamed at for being someone who has given up, a negative nancy, a nihilist, a pessimist who wants bad things to happen. You’re told to go away because you’re only here to spread false negativity for Trump or Russia and depress democratic turnout.
I say we FF that person from now on so we can have actual discussions - not trollery, not MAGA shit but a weighing of why or why not this might or might not be an outcome. Put Pollyanna in the time out box.

That will become a DL meme, r99. Like Graxy and Pron. Welcome to the Hall of Fame. Let's all go on Twitter and call her a Battalack! I'm getting sick of the two MSNBC reporters who cover Capitol Hill. Both of them making excuses for her. Collins did not meet with constituents in Washington and the floor where many of them have offices was closed to the public and guarded by the police. She avoided the elevator and hid out in her hidey-hole in the basement. Alyssa Milano went to her office with several of her female constituents and she refused to open the door to her office and talk with them. But both Hunt and Haake insisted she did. She pre-approved Kavanaugh before he was nominated. She was never going to be a no. Her grandstanding was an embarrassment and enraging. Never want to hear another word out of her lying mouth. The same goes for MM and LG. Fuck them all to hell.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | October 6, 2018 8:36 PM |
I think MSNBC is afraid to criticize Collins because of the fear that deplorables like Laura Ingraham will scream that the librul media is attacking a woman after saying they believe all women are telling the truth. “But oh no, they won’t let republican conservative women have their say! They want to shut down anyone who doesn’t agree with them.” Deplorables have been scoring points among some fence sitters by saying progressives want to shut down any conservative opinions. I understand why they might treat Collins with kid gloves
But they ought to rip whole new assholes for Flake, Sasse & Graham.

That's exactly how she comes off. A silly, besotted, school girl with a crush. I watched the episode of The Circus where they interviewed her and gave considerable time to her because she could/would be a deciding vote. The look on Alex Wagner and Heilemann's faces when she told them that she was "almost there" said it all. They KNEW the old Battalack was going to vote yes. Despite everything. The population of Maine is the oldest of any state and they don't care about Roe vs Wade. She's 65 and childless. I don't think she cares either. She could live another twenty years or more so money and a cushy life is what is important. She dithers about running for Governor and has for several years so maybe she means it this time. She can leave the Senate a rich bitch but stay in the game on another level. Maine voters kept LaPage in office for what, twelve years? They are stupid enough to vote for her too.

R143 - no that's me
I'm the bucks county poster in New Hope:
I was the one commenting about the lack of yard signs and enthusiasm in Bucks during the election. Also I was the poster that had Trump visit my gym for a rally - the rally that he held in Newtown Pa. it was packed. The lines to get in real insane. During this time I remember Kane cancelling some of his rallies - because he just didn't have a crowd. Yet you'd never know there was a problem because anyone who dared to mention it here was blocked. Even in this thread there are posters screaming "block!!" Just because they don't like what I have to say - and they wonder why her loss was such a shock?
I will say this - things have gotten worse. By that I mean the derangement syndrome that r101 is referring to. People are highly turned off by this - they are at least where I am.
I do think we need to block the crazy people that keep blocking everyone else and getting people banned just for offering a real discussion or debate.
The other day someone posted a thread "something is off on DL" complaining that posting had gone down and that things were slow - I honestly think many posters have been driven away from the insanity that goes on here.

She's the person who ignores the growing line behind her at the grocery store as she shows the clerk a recently expired coupon she wants to use, then keeps repeating "I don't think I *can* use this, though," even after the clerk reassures her it's still usable numerous times. After twenty minutes of hand-wringing and making the manager come over to reiterate that yes, she *can* use the coupon, she decides the REAL issue here is that she just can't trust the integrity of a store that doesn't honor coupon expiration dates, and leaves without paying for anything.
Before going, she turns to the long line of irritated customers behind her and gives a quick, smug, eye-rolling "I'm sorry" that's clearly meant to mean "I'm taking it for granted that everyone here fully respects where I'm coming from. No one could possibly think I'm the asshole in this situation."

And you sockpuppeted too, which I clearly remember from blocking your whiny ass. So I'm not convinced that this little reunion of like-minded PA insiders is more than just you pulling the same old tricks.
You've also said that we deserve Trump because of how we supposedly treated you, which I personally think makes you a homophobe, and possibly someone who lives outside the US. She craves attention too much to retire entirely from politics. Will run for Governor of Maine. Will lose. Including dogcatcher. Give to the Democratic candidate for Governor. I am also making a list of Democrats who are in jeopardy but didn't sell us out and will donate to them. Including the ones in states where Trump has held a hate rave in recent days. This is the way to get these fuckers. Manchin is getting ripped to shreds. Don't give a shit about all of the rationalizations given to keep him in the Senate. Fuck him. I hope he loses. His piece of shit daughter is getting ripped too. How dare she be black, female and have power? Why, she’s just an affirmative action spoiler. Some good white man could have had those govt positions. This is one of the reasons why deplorables want to tear down the US go to. Because it gives black people some power. That’s gotta stop!
They would donate a half a billion dollars and many faulty voting machines to keep Rice out of the job.

Did anyone ask Collins if she believes Ford was attacked but mistaken about BK then is Ford also mistaken about Mark Judge being there? Gosh, maybe Christine Ford is also mistaken about being Christine Ford. Maybe she's somebody else entirely.
Collins knows she can't come out and say either "Ford is lying" or "Ford is telling the truth but I don't care" so she does the same fence-straddle that every other GOP is doing.
I think what's even more annoying is that journalists don't follow up these answers. Like "Senator Collins, you say you believe that Dr. Ford was attacked. But if you say you don't know by whom, then how can you be certain it wasn't Kavanaugh if Dr. Ford IS 100% it was Kavanaugh?"

by Anonymous | reply 203 | October 7, 2018 8:31 PM |
She's got the face of a sun damaged Mule.
by Anonymous | reply 204 | October 7, 2018 8:35 PM |
She had her last chance to distinguish herself as apart from the christo-fascists. She failed and now she'll be gone. Buh bye, bitch.
Fuck this cunt and all those idiots who have no idea what they just won. Reap the whirlwind, and that drunk wannabe rapist isn't as much the wind as a bag of douchenozzled sputum. Fuck them all.
And that bloated carcass they follow blindly invoked the feminine deity when he mocked the good Dr. That won't play well in the cosmos, no matter what you believe in. Children in cages and molesters on the highest court of the land.

I just wrote a postcard telling her I donated to her future opponent and I will donate again next year and that I hope her political career is over.

[quote]Manchin is getting ripped to shreds.
Good. WTF? Why would her vote for Kavanaugh?
by Anonymous | reply 207 | October 7, 2018 8:54 PM |
Sorry for the incoherent ranting, DL. I've been damned upset.
by Anonymous | reply 208 | October 7, 2018 8:57 PM |
R208 It's okay. We all hate the cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 209 | October 7, 2018 9:12 PM |
She's the same person she was before and the same person she would have been if she had voted the other way. If you criticize her now, you should have been criticizing her all along.
by Anonymous | reply 210 | October 7, 2018 9:35 PM |
We have been, R210, and for quite some time. She's a known mumble mouthing apologist who wants to be seen as 'progressive' while voting to fuck over her constituents. Oh, we've seen her game....a game that's now OVAH.
As they say in Cundy's Harbor: Too bad, so sad.
by Anonymous | reply 211 | October 7, 2018 9:38 PM |
^^ Sorry. That was meant for R211.
by Anonymous | reply 213 | October 7, 2018 10:26 PM |
Follow the money. The nasty bitch made bank on this shady deal.

These cunts and fuckers who rant about Trump (and Bush when he was president), then vote for their policies KNOW they’re doing wrong. They wouldn’t try to appear as if they were dissenters if they were doing the right thing.

SEN. SUSAN COLLINS: "The one silver lining that I hope will come from this is that more women will press charges now, when they are assaulted,"
Yeah, after watching what Christine Ford went through, I'm sure woman are just DYING to press charges against their assaulter.
This idiot must have a very cushy post-political job already lined up.

R6
I wish I could use this as my on social media tagline
by Anonymous | reply 218 | October 8, 2018 5:19 AM |
This was old Sue’s week. She made it all about her in the end. I hope I never have to see her stupid face again.
by Anonymous | reply 219 | October 8, 2018 5:24 AM |
Brett Kavanaugh will not last long in that job. The books are going to start coming out, doing the research that should have been done months ago. He still likes beer...
He should have never thrown his hat in the ring in the first place; he's not SCOTUS material.

Creepy fake Susie pedaled GOP Junk Science to gaslight Dr. Blasey-Ford - “she was mistaken in identifying him as her attacker...” Donald isn the only Republican to pedal Conspiracy Theories, now Collins is dealin in fake news herself.
by Anonymous | reply 221 | October 8, 2018 6:26 AM |
Maine should be ashamed to have this person in Congress. What a wretched excuse for a human being.
by Anonymous | reply 222 | October 8, 2018 6:28 AM |
I hate to say this of another woman, especially one is an authority figure: but her pussy stinks.
by Anonymous | reply 223 | October 8, 2018 6:31 AM |
R220 agree and with that comes the consequences. In this day and age you need to be a boy scout.
by Anonymous | reply 224 | October 8, 2018 1:09 PM |
R217 Just the opposite, even less women will report sexual assault, and they certainly would not come forward publicly to accuse a public person. I am a bisexual male, and I was raped in college by another male when I accepted his invitation to drive me home after a birthday party. The shame of the ordeal and the concern of nobody believing me or thinking it was me fault kept me from reporting it or telling anybody about it until I told a boyfriend about 10 years later.

Kavanaugh is reported to be hiring all female law clerks team to work with him. Talk about a bullshit PR stunt.
by Anonymous | reply 226 | October 8, 2018 1:40 PM |
Will Brett’s all female crew be like the backing band in Robert Palmer’s Addicted to Love video? I can see them all dolled up sexy in tight short skirts, bright red lipstick, flashing white power signs. Ugh.
by Anonymous | reply 227 | October 8, 2018 1:52 PM |
Perfect R35... exactly.
by Anonymous | reply 228 | October 8, 2018 1:54 PM |
nothing but filth and garbage, like I"ve always said
by Anonymous | reply 229 | October 8, 2018 2:06 PM |
if his hires claim sexual assault by him will they be ignored? is he free to just do what ever he wants now?
in the meantime Collins opponent raised 1 million in 24 hours after her yes vote and has now raised 3 million.
by Anonymous | reply 230 | October 8, 2018 2:12 PM |
R226 he will have more choices when he gets drunk and is in a rapey mood.
by Anonymous | reply 231 | October 8, 2018 5:07 PM |
R226, R227, they'll all be flashing that fucking hateful white power sign, too. I haven't forgotten that cunt's act, though I have, gratefully, forgotten her name.
by Anonymous | reply 232 | October 8, 2018 5:18 PM |

Cunt
Erna has competition now.

Eric Garland has a Twitter thread on her lobbyist husband, Thomas Daffron, and his political background and Russian ties. I think the Russian ties seems a bit exaggerated in significance, but one does wonder about the timing of their marriage.
by Anonymous | reply 234 | October 9, 2018 7:18 AM |
R234: one of the intel guys on Twitter was saying they should investigate Russian insurance fraud in her state to find some interesting things.
by Anonymous | reply 235 | October 9, 2018 7:30 AM |
I agree with that
by Anonymous | reply 236 | October 11, 2018 5:11 PM |
The only way to payback Collins is to investigate her husband. There’s bound to be at least one financial/ethical scandal there.
by Anonymous | reply 237 | October 11, 2018 5:28 PM |
Lorne Michaels, who loves Trump, should invite Senator Collins to host SNL
