I once employed a guy who used to work in an ABS. He said one of his jobs was to take a garden hose to the back peep show room and flood the concrete floor to wash out all the spent cum.

I was in the gay section of an adult store and a female stripper came up and asked me if I wanted a lap dance. I'm not sure if I was more surprised that she asked me or that strippers hang out in adult stores looking for random lap dances. I politely said no, and she lowered her head and quietly walked away.

I went to a ABS for the first time with my BFF in college. The manager on duty that day was a friendly, grandmotherly Southern lady who seemed totally out of place in a dirty bookstore—she seemed like she'd be more at home teaching Sunday school. I remember her helping a mousy little man in the sex toy section and answering questions he had about the merchandise: "Honey, that there is a masturbation dee-vice!"
