Yawn.
So anyway, I had a sandwich for dinner tonight. Didn't feel like anything too heavy, or filling...
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 26, 2018 1:44 AM |
I’m guessing you didn’t have fries with your sandwich, r4?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 26, 2018 1:51 AM |
RIP he lived a really eventful life.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 26, 2018 1:55 AM |

Notable: Pres. Obama put out a statement praising John McCain’s legacy before anything from the Trump White House.

Justin Trudeau:
Senator John McCain was an American patriot and hero whose sacrifices for his country, and lifetime of public service, were an inspiration to millions. Canadians join Americans tonight in celebrating his life and mourning his passing.

Kamala Harris: My colleague John McCain will be remembered as a devoted father and husband, war hero and a conscience of the Senate. Sending my condolences and prayers to his friends and family, and to the American people who have lost a true patriot.

CNN has a reporter by the roadside in the desert doing live shots outside his home (I guess.)

Whoopi Goldberg Senator John McCain passed today, all i can think about..he never stopped trying to do his best. What an honor it’s been to know him. My condolences to the family he loved and adored and to his daughter & my friend @MeghanMcCain...from all my family, much love

Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan:
Senator John McCain spent his life in service to his country with dignity and honour. He was a true American leader, and one who I considered a personal hero. Thinking of his family, friends and those who served alongside him during this difficult time.

Stephen King:
John McCain's finest moment (for me) came in 2008, when a woman at a rally referred to Obama as an Arab. "No, ma'am," McCain replied. "He's a decent family man, a citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with." That's manning up.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 26, 2018 2:39 AM |
Donald J. Trump:
It's a good thing. It's not a bad thing.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 26, 2018 2:40 AM |
Thank you, OP, for saying McCain DIED today instead of that religious crap that's infiltrated everything with "pass away" like a little fairy.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 26, 2018 2:43 AM |
Jeffrey Wright:
John McCain - often didn't agree with him but can't argue his dedication to serving as best he knew how. Two recent moments by which to remember him fondly: publicly shutting down his silly supporter's racist claim about Obama and then putting the thumb to healthcare thieves. RIP
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 26, 2018 2:43 AM |
McCain DESPISED George W Bush, R15.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 26, 2018 2:44 AM |
Bill Clinton:
John McCain believed that every citizen has a responsibility to make something of the freedoms given by our Constitution, and from his heroic service in the Navy to his 35 years in Congress, he lived by his creed every day.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 26, 2018 2:47 AM |
Unlike Trump...McCain seemed to be human.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 26, 2018 2:52 AM |
Maxine Waters: A true American patriot & hero has passed.
John McCain was an example of a public policy maker who fought for what he believed in, and had the character & dignity to stand up for what was right -- even if he had to oppose some of his colleagues to do so.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 26, 2018 2:55 AM |
Maxine Waters:
I will always remember the critical moment when John McCain strode into the U.S. Senate and, with all eyes focused on him and one vote needed, displayed a thumbs down and saved Obamacare, which benefits millions in our country.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 26, 2018 2:56 AM |
President Jimmy Carter:
"John McCain was a man of honor, a true patriot in the best sense of the word."

McCain stops the Republicans from abolishing ObamaCare:

Now that r24 has reminded me, I’d like to revise my title, which was written in haste.
What I really meant to say was, “John McCain, child of Christ, was escorted home to his Heavenly reward today by a chorus of angels. McCain passed peacefully and entered our Lord’s loving embrace at 4:28 this afternoon.”
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 26, 2018 3:03 AM |
"He's fine. He sends his love."
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 26, 2018 3:07 AM |
His mother is still living right at the moment though.
Long life either way for John.

I got TRICKED by an imposter thread.
This thread is canceled.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 26, 2018 4:42 AM |
McCain was really very handsome as a young man. I didn't agree with everything he did, but unlike most other Republicans nowadays, he really for the most part did serve for what he thought was best for his country.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 26, 2018 4:53 AM |
You put the important part first.

That cunt just can't shut her fucking yap. Irrelevancy suits her.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 26, 2018 5:22 AM |
His choice of her as VP was unforgivable.

Hillary Clinton: @SenJohnMcCain lived a life of service to his country, from his heroism in the Navy to 35 years in Congress. He was a tough politician, a trusted colleague, and there will simply never be another like him. My thoughts and prayers are with Cindy and his entire family.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 26, 2018 6:05 AM |
Sarah Palin continues to be a cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 26, 2018 3:48 PM |
r37, she's not only living, she's 106 years old.
Can you imagine outliving your 81 year old son?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 26, 2018 3:49 PM |
I was shocked yesterday to learn that his mother is still living at 106. Unreal.
He also had his daughter Meghan late in life... she’s only 33.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 26, 2018 3:56 PM |
Obama and GW Bush will give the eulogy . Nice bipartisan support
by Anonymous | reply 51 | August 26, 2018 4:06 PM |
And will hopefully send a message to the public about Trump, R51.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | August 26, 2018 11:18 PM |

R50 Evidence that old sperm is wonky sperm.

Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL):
John McCain was my friend and one of my heroes. He devoted his life to duty, honor and country. He shall always be a role model for me.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | August 27, 2018 12:08 AM |
I'm no big fan of McCain. He wasn't as much of a maverick as his reputation would have you believe.
That said, someone who fought in the war, was a POW, and served so many decades in Congress deserved more than a two-sentence tweet from the President of the United States.
I hope all those veterans who voted for Trump are reconsidering their vote. But I doubt it.
People who support the orange animal's petty and vengeful mentality are deplorables indeed.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | August 27, 2018 1:20 PM |
r55, the less Trump said the better. You would have to have been in a coma for the last few years not to know how Trump really felt about McCain and vice versa, so frankly, I wish he had said nothing.
But he did, and he said just enough and not too much for once; a rarity for him.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 27, 2018 1:29 PM |
Not a fan but, damn, brain cancer sucks.
Glad the pain is over.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 27, 2018 3:32 PM |
He was a great American hero! moderately on the right. RIP
by Anonymous | reply 58 | August 27, 2018 10:02 PM |
I wonder if the Vietnamese will ever release all the dirt they have on him? I mean, obviously they can’t do it now, the bodies not even cold. However, in the future I’d really like them to expose the fact that he was never tortured, and that he cooperated from day one.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | August 27, 2018 10:28 PM |
R58 A moderate on the right? He opposed gay marriage, supported don't ask don't tell, voted against Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and opposed gay adoption.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | August 27, 2018 10:29 PM |
Bill Clinton(DOMA) Obama and Hilary were opposed to gay marriage too, lest you forget
by Anonymous | reply 61 | August 27, 2018 10:37 PM |
"supported don't ask don't tell"
So did I :)
by Anonymous | reply 62 | August 27, 2018 10:38 PM |
Bill Clinton is a good ol’ boy deep down. If he’d never got into politics then his personal views on fag gays would probably be closer to Kim Davis.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | August 27, 2018 10:44 PM |
R63, you don't get elected Governor of Arkansas by having a bleeding heart. I liked Clinton. He had a lot of "Clinton Republicans" voters.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | August 27, 2018 10:50 PM |
R64 makes a good point.
Bill Clinton was the last Democrat who knew how to appeal to Southern/rural/Republican voters.
He was able to win states that are out of reach for the Democrats in the foreseeable future.
Bill was the last Democrat to win Arkansas, Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Georgia, Arizona & Montana.

Jews were happy to throw gays under the bus.
