1) While she's a fine comedic actress, she is an absolutely horrible dramatic actress who conveys emotion by angrily shouting (like Jonathan Rhys-Meyers). So she ruins any dramatic movie she's in.

2) She is insanely self-centered and narcissistic even by Hollywood celebrity standards, which is REALLY saying something. She infamously spoke dismissively and condescendingly to the highly respected Bill Conti when he was conducting the Oscar orchestra the year she won Best Actress and hew as trying to play her off the stage for speaking too long, and addressing him as "Mr. Stick Man." The next year when she announced Best Actor and the winner was her friend (and former lover?) Denzel Washington, after she opened the envelope she obnoxiously said, "Wow--I LOVE my life!" as if it were all about her. So the geenral estimate in Hollywood and among gay men is as she was depicted on "Family Guy":

Yeah, the A Low Vera incident. I can't stress enough how it sealed the hate for her among straight women in their 30s and older. They turned on a dime.
