Born Gertrude Wirschinger in Klagenfurt, Austria, but she's no Frau.

OK just the facts. Like other German acts, (Milli Vanilli) Penny did not do the scream on the song. The original vocals were erased, and she re recorded the song EXCEPT the scream. (To be fair, she screamed it live though. She was also a member of Silver Convention, you see her in the videos. The MV lip snych was nothing new to those wily Churmans. Basically any pretty girls would do for live performances.

2016 interview in German with Penny and Silver Convention co-member Ramona Wulf. Penny looks good for nearly 70, but Ramona looks fantastic. Schwarz don't crack!

Bob Ferrell of Boney M didn't sing (rap) on their biggest hit Rasputin, it was their producer Frank Farian. (Milli Vanilli's producer as well)...nothing new

Did “The Bump” dance start with “Lady Bump”?
I thought I read that the Lady Bump was the one who brought the cocaine to the parties.

Some heifer in another thread said they were playing "Lady Bump" on their phone while visiting a senile aunt at THE HOOOOOME and auntie screamed along with Penny.

The set in OP's video looks like one of those exhibitions at children's museums where you can crawl around inside the human body....

Apparently there is a Thai cover of it too...

I always imagined that DL legend Bonnie Mace looks just like Penny in OP's vid

I worked at the City Cabaret on New Montgomery in SF. Remember that song well. Sweaty queens, no shirts dancing the night away with nothing to worry about. Our time.

I lived in England in 77-79 and a group called Baccara had a big hit with Yes Sir, I Can Boogie!
With their accents, they sang it Boooooogie! And the first line of the song, 'Mister - your eyes are full of hesitation' was indiscernible to me at the time. I had to look up the lyric just now as I posted. She sounded like a drunk Liza with marbles in her mouth. It was too funny, too weird, and I was in disbelief.
That's when I knew I had entered another dimension of reality.
And now with Lady Bump, I'm in another dimension.

Around the same time in England 77-79, a song used in, I believe, and OXO beef cube commercial went to number one (or close to it) and was a huge hit. Anyone remember it, or know what I'm talking about? I don't know if my memory is correct, but it seems like the song was about the product which made it so weird. So strange is youth.
I was only 13, and remember thinking - records are really weird over here.
Don't get me started on Mull of Kintyre!

She kinda looks like Ann Reinking in that screen grab. Or 70s reality TV hostess Rhonda Bates.
