As an aspiring cartoonist growing up, I loved the character designs of the 1980s Filmation shows, especially Brave Starr. This reboot literally looks like Deviant Art-level quality shit. I guess they had to dumb the art and character designs down to cater to the Deviant Art crowd. Wouldn't want to make it too hard for the snowflakes to create their own fan art or upset them with skills that far exceed their own.

BTW, this is the kind of stuff that is why manga and anime are kicking the pants off the YA market here. The Japanese don't give a rat's patootie how inane, ridiculous or depraved a premise for a show or manga. They will put their all into it. American kids want to see nicely drawn art, so they keep buying anime and manga in droves.
