Do you think that Dorothy was too quick to end her friendship with Barbara Thorndyke?
Sure, Barbara was a little difficult but she did offer to take the group o another restaurant after it became clear The Mortimer Club was off the menu.
Pus she opened Dorothy up to Miami's literary intelligentsia which is something she always sought for herself. Should Dorothy have overlooked this small lapse in decency and stuck with her burgeoning friendships with one of Florida's most creative writers?

Rumor has it that Barbara was going to use the Golden Palace for one of her literary get togethers but when she saw they employed blacks and Mexicans, she changed her mind. Unfortunately, Dorothy was not around to slam the door on her a second time.

No, Dorothy woke up just in time. I wonder if Barbara ever based any of the characters in her next novel on the ladies..

Dorothy should have ended her friendship with that Thorndyke cunt when she called Rose and Blanche "limited." Who knows what other shit Dorothy and Barbara said behind their backs?

Her putting up with their policy probably meant she wasn’t huge on the Jews either.

She wrote shitty romance novels. Dorothy didn’t miss much in the long run.

Dorothy, Blanche and Rose were in inspiration for Barbara's subsequent novel. A more mature, less romantic effort which examined the psychology of the aging woman.. "So dry the fannies of Miami's bitter Grannies".

No. Dorothy had a deep need to feel superior to her friends, which was easy for her with Blanche the slut, and Rose the dimwit. She could never feel superior to Barbara.
