R6 RSW has a gf. If Ben is going to be paired with Ciara, he is probably not going to become bisexual. But who knows what direction Ron will take Ben and Will? We have only had one scene with them so far.

Please provide any instances where any character on this show said those words other than Sonny or Paul. My point is Ron C has recycled dialogue between Wilson for Horshita. What he doesn't get is that fans have long memories. He's admitted he didn't know Days history when he came on board so he's just lifting dialogue from old episodes to cover his own ignorance and laziness.

This show recycles everything, it's probably more coincidental at best, than Ron rewatching episodes making dialogue the same. Is there even a storyline that hasn't been recycled on this show? Literally everything playing on DAYS right now has been done in the past. Paternity switch (Sami x10), redeeming a "bad guy" (Jack, Franco), murder coverup (Nick's) and a custody battle (Sami vs. Lucas over Will) just to name one instance of EVERY sl.

Not everything is about WilSon. I do hope Ron does watch the episodes and realizes that we need another sexy gay for Will once Paul leaves or we get a Paul recast. It's OOC character for a gay man like to be attracted to a greaseball who wears PJ tops under his suit jacket.

By removing the new and unpredictable character, Leo, from the gay story line, the show ends up with lifeless WilSon, while sidelining Horita, which could actually work away from boring Sonny.

r37 The show was garbage before Ron. Dena did it zero favours, actually she almost got it cancelled. I think Ron started out strong with the Will storyline but failed to use that momentum gained to propel the show into 2018. Instead he wrote that Abby/Chad/Stefan mess that made people lose interest and that ate the show for over five months, with everyone taking a back seat.

I'm personally ready for Ron to be gone. I hate his writing currently, and he seems to be like a child in a candy store with all these ideas but unable to properly pen them and make them cohesive on the canvas. They need to cut some of the characters that have long since expired on the show (Roman, Kate, Rafe and Brady to name a few) and stick with a core cast. If he wants to do these return stints- fine but maintain the balance. Jen Lilley's return has been an absolute waste, the only good thing is that she's leaving soon and taking Tate with her.

Yes Ron’s ultimately responsible for all the writing but there are many sous-chefs and assistants in that kitchen. The lame dialogue is not directly his - but he should have a talk with some of the underlings and get them to improve their work.

Ron has been doing great with the Will stuff up until the dreaded return of memory. Now all the Will scenes kind of drag.

I'm more interested in him being Sami Jr. and scheming while running amok, maybe with his fag hag Gabi? than his love life, although he definitely deserves an equally hot and greeting acting leading man at some point after CS leaves. I hope they keep him slutty too, he's too young too settle down, yet. Let him date and scam some men first.

I hope they either recast Paul or bring in a new gay character. Daddy Ron can't be okay with Will Whoreton being stuck with Sonny. So I'm hoping he intervenes.

They'll have to do something IMO. I personally think Ron was going to go with Will/Paul, with some WilSon angst thrown in for them but then CS left. I don't think he's a WilSon shipper. Ron seems to like writing for Will/Paul, so hopefully we get a recast or new gay. I'm honestly fine with either.

With Chandler back there was almost no way a Wilson reunion wouldn't happen and it's what the original Wilson fans have been waiting for the longest to happen. In their opinion CM's Will belongs with Sonny.

The head writers before Dena and Josh were rumored that they were going to explore Horita even more while Sonny was away in Paris plus bring on a new gay and then eventually have Sonny came back to Salem.

Gabi is supposed to be going dark in her plans for revenge against Stefan and Abby.

R49 The problem is NuWilSon will not make any new fans being so dull even with a murder hanging over their heads. This has got to be the dullest story line for Will since he was resurrected.

Here's how I would write it if I was HW=

WilSon try and cover up the 'murder' and eventually try & move on with their lives. Will with Paul. Sonny randomly dating. Time passes & they think it's all behind them when they start getting calls saying I know what you did. It progresses to them being sent photos of the blood stained rug, photos of Leo's car, photos of dead Leo. The heat is really turned up when they're told all the evidence will be sent to the DA

Sonny & Will decide they need to have a marriage of convenience because neither could be compelled to testify against the other. They have to play up that it's a real marriage. This breaks Paul's heart & he leaves to return to California. This could end one of 2 ways depending on if they want to recast Paul or not. Regardless Leo is not dead & he's been gaslighting them.

Plan #1- WilSon put on a show that thy're married & happy but Will longs for Paul. Once Leo is exposed Will runs to CA to explain it all & reunite with Paul. This would usher in the recast Paul Plan #2- If they aren't recasting Paul then Will becomes angry/bitter that he lost Paul & he's living a charade. Will embraces his inner Sami (troublemaker) & inner Kate(slut)

BTS indicate both characters are still together pretty much until CS leaves, so this won't break them up when it comes out. He says: “I can definitely say that Paul… is in a position where he’ll be,” he hesitated, not sure how to find the right words that wouldn’t get him in trouble. “I think DAYS and NBC have kept Paul…in a positive light and so there… I don’t want to give anything away,” he said sweetly. “But I can definitely say that it’s until next time, not goodbye entirely.”

Sounds like the character will be back sooner rather than later. Honestly, I think it would make sense to put Will back with Sonny (as much as I hate the thought), have Will regretful and missing Paul, only to have Paul turn back up (recast or CS). I think TPTB realize that WilSon is DOA. They cannot be that blind or stupid.

I hope they bring a new gay on for Will until Paul returns.

R61 Maybe their murder misadventure will help them figure out they are just friends/co-parents. Sonny has changed too much from the guy Will fell in love with for WilSon to be truly resurrected. At least Ron got them a quick divorce, so they (mostly Sonny) just needs to finally let it go. The crazy WilSon fans are another matter... they will howl about the injustice of it all until their perfect Sonny is gone or the show gets canceled.

Idk, I hope they play Will up more as a vixen and leave the door open for Paul to return (that's what it seems like is happening). Ron is pretty good when it comes to pairings and I can't see him not seeing the potential there with pairing John Black's son with Sami Brady's son. Plus, the chemistry is different. Chandler sparks with everyone but FCF.

I think the writing is, generally, better than it has been in years. However, I'm having trouble with the idea that DYKWIA would throw his life away for Theresa.

R90, I'm also a -1 exviewer. After I heard spoilers that Sonny and Will were getting back together and seeing Will slowly regain his memory down this boring( I would say trainwreck but trainwrecks are actually exciting) storyline, I was out. Haven't seen an episode since Leo hit his head on the fireplace.

They literally could have done ANYTHING with Will's character and they still brought him back to Sonny's husssband and boring bedroom-confined online journalist.

I agree about Will, so much more could have been done with him. I am still hopeful since the writing for him with amnesia reminds me of Sami's storyline when she also had amnesia years ago. They pretty much had her only remembering her love for Austin and she didn't even remember Will until she held him, and then remembered giving birth to him. She didn't get her full memory back until she was shocked by plugging an iron in, and she her personality was a complete 360 from the actual Sami, she was super nice and even liked John lol. So I'm hoping once they return his memory they start to turn him around a bit. I can't see where they can go story wise with Will and Sonny. They need a character to drive their story, even if Ron intends for them to be the boring "endgame" twenty years from now. All poor Gabi has done is drove sorry for Chad and Abby for YEARS and now they also have Stefan propping them. Nick, Adrienne, Gabi and Paul have driven story for WilSon, so if they do put them together they HAVE to bring someone new in for them.

I hope they leave Will single and mix him up with the cast. I'm not here for Will and Sonny. Although I like Will with Paul, I'm open to Will with someone new as well. I hope they turn him back into the character he was back in January and February of this year, one who was similar to Sami and went out to get what he wanted (at the time Paul).

I think Ron was great when he started, but ever since the Is Will Alive? story ended, everything else he has written has been a massive failure. I don't want Dena back, but I need him gone. Three of the most boring characters are leading this show Abby/Chad/Stefan, it's insanity. The same storylines are being recycled and I don't see the show getting better anytime soon. I think Sami returning next month will be a help but the show will go back down again. Since the WTD story will eat it alive. They need to improve the balance. The focus is also completely off. I hope Kate Mansi is only temporary and doesn't resign. I need a break from that dreadful character. Billy can leave too, and it's only a matter of time before they murder Stefan.

Everything under Ron just keeps getting worse and it's weird since he was adored on OLTL and GH for his good writing, until it got campy (kind of didn't work on GH) but it would work on DAYS. Idk I think he lost focus and is just not interested anymore...

R94 Yes, that mischievous Will with a gleam in his eyes from Jan/Feb was the best. The lovey-dovey Will is rather boring since we don't get the hot sex scenes... just the corny dialogues in bed.

Considering the dearth of happy, hot gay couples on TV, I'm loving Paul and Will. As for sex scenes, there aren't any straight ones either. Romance has taken a backseat on all soaps.

I'm looking forward to Sami's reaction of Will and Paul together when she returns too.

Aside from that Will/Paul have HOT chemistry, and Freddie is a bore, so the two best gay males (and hottest) on the show (Will and Paul) together makes the most sense!

If you know their history, then Will and Paul makes little sense. Of course, since most here only care about superficial, shallow stuff about perceived "hotness" and other such shit, then I guess it makes all the sense in the world. The show still sucks big time.

r103 Sure, the characters have a bad history, but what soap opera couple hasn't at some point? It makes couples interesting! Lucas/Sami, Sami/Ej (actually, all of Sami's relationships) but both Ej and Lucas are very destructive Sami pairings, yet people adored both together. I'd rather a hate dynamic turn into something deeper, than watch Will be pigeon holed into Sonny's version of a 1950's all-American family. It makes things more compelling, how many characters have loathed each other on this show but eventually worked their way towards love? WilSon was always boring, they got together too easily imho, without Adrienne, Nick and Gabi during their relationship start up they would have had very little angst.

The actors (CM/CS) are also hot and not constantly bloated or appear constipated in scenes, so to me it's a win/win.

r101 Around the time of the Jarlena wedding. So we'll probably see her late next month since the wedding is at the end of August. She's on here and there I believe, and then leaves again and won't reappear until the new year. It's reoccurring role, which is why people are pushing to get Eileen back since it would give her a lot of time off with the reoccurring status and the shows dark weeks.

I mean, my God, one half of the couple has no memory of who he was! Ron didn't want to put in the hard work and have this situation develop organically from their still recent history. Instead we got insta-Paulson break-up and insta-Whoreton hookup with the smallest of drama that should be oozing out instead of the dry, boring nothing that 's been going on for 7 months. The only thing I agree with you on is Wilson. I hate the thought of that only because Sonny deserves miles better than that useless sack. Paul has escaped the usual Will drama so far but that's about to change and since Paul knew what and who Will is and decided to be a dumb shit anyway, he deserves what he's about to get and then some.

If Ron wanted to be boring he could have easily slapped WilSon back together as soon as Will was found alive. It is clear that isn't the story direction he wanted to go though. It has been speculated both on here as well as with people in the "know" that Will and Paul were actually going to be a thing under TomSell after Sonny left, but the writers changed and we lost the entire gay storyline. The thing is, this storyline has always been Will's. PaulSon didn't work since neither character is established enough to make the writers nor the audience care. Paul is a retcon and Sonny is a cookie cutter character with very little depth, those two together is a ticket to being fired. Lani and Eli are a similar coupling currently, which is why their baby was murdered. Will's characterization has been taking place since 1995, the audience is invested in Lumi's child. Justin and Adrienne were big during the late eighties but it was Sami who ran the show since 1993 for her younger se with Marlena leading the older. Judi didn't return until 2004 and Justin even later, they aren't as well known.

I think everything has been boring in terms of Will, but I'm hopeful Ron changes it up soon since this writing is very similar to when Sami lost her memory. She forgot being a schemer and her relationship with with her child and was a different person. Personally, I think both Will and Paul were always very attracted to each other from the beginning, or else they wouldn't have had sex. Paul felt guilty after he found out Will but clearly liked Will enough to want to date him before the affair was revealed. Will also acted so irrationally angry towards Paul that it was clear there was something there that should have been explored. I think Ron just picked up where TomSell left the triangle. I do agree that I'm sick to death of the triangle and can't wait to have Will with other characters. Sonny has been a wash since his return. Freddie clearly realized that this show is all he will ever get and it looks like were stuck with him until they fire him (hey, the realized what a mistake GW was so it's possible!). Sonny needs Will to survive on this show, Will on the other hand doesn't need him or Paul. Which is why he is the centre of the triangle.

Will and Paul are great, plus Chandler and Christopher have amazing chemistry. It sounds like Paul's exit will be left open, so I'm hoping he returns and we finally get Will and Paul for good. Paul is the leading man Will deserves.

Could've, would've, should'ves don't matter where Will and Paul are concerned. The actual story does and their relationship turned combative and cruel but that's all been tossed out the window to avoid having to deal with the messiness. I'm almost positive even after Will gets all his memories back, none of that will even matter. Please soap gods, write Sonny off so I won't have to give this shit show another second of attention.

r109 But that's the whole plot point. Will doesn't remember, so Paul rehashing old memories with him when their relationship was in a different place is a moot point. The same with Sonny trying to get Will to recall their great life together. This Will is living in the present and as far as he is concerned he may never get his full memory back, heck he's been living with amnesia for over two years. Paul should be cautious, but he was also treated like dirt by Sonny and like a person by Will, and he always felt attracted to Will so I don't fault him for exploring that further. He has also stated that he is aware Will may leave him once he remembers, so it's not like he is blinded to think otherwise.

Sappy and unbelievable as hell but I loved the recent Steve and Kayla scenes, especially when he got his sight back (at least in his one good eye). Reminiscing about their wedding day and Kayla talks about loving her white wedding dress as Steve eyes are dart back and forth and then tells her that he loves her being his lady in red (Kayla was wearing a red blouse and she realizes Steve has regained his sight).

I think what I liked best of those scenes is that they had something to DO, like Kayka removing the dressing, and later putting his patch back on, combing his hair etc...So many scenes these days seem to be two people standing and talking. Could almost be a radio soap sometimes.

Back in the late 80s, there was a storyline where Steve got the bad eye replaced. I forget the details of how it all went down, but the end result was he no longer had to wear the patch.

Problem was, without the eye patch, Steve lost his edge, lost what really made him standout. Viewers hated him without the patch. So, the show wrote an accident in where Steve was hit in the head somehow and lost the eye again. He had to resume wearing the patch and viewers were happy again.

I remember that time very well. This was before the internet, but the letters were clogging up the soap magazines about how they hated "Patchless". So I think he lost the eye again, during Days' version of that whole Mississippi Burning storyline with Steve and Marcus.

I think Trip is gorgeous and perfectly cast as Steve's son.

The Soap Central fraus and others like them have believe that Billy is one of the greatest actors to have ever appeared in soaps and one of the greatest actors of this generation r478. The Soap Central fraus declared that once Billy got a daytime Emmy nom that his winning the Emmy was all but guaranteed and when he lost to Scott Clifton. They went berserk and started claiming that there was conspiracy against Billy. Some of even went on to harass Scott Clifton and claiming that he "stole" Billy's Emmy while others claimed that the Daytime Emmys would be meaningless once Billy gets his Oscar nom and eventual win.

Riight. And this is how he actually got the FOWBF moniker, because those fraus think he's Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, and James Dean all rolled into one (even though James Dean didn't win an Oscar).

Kinda like the Muhney fraus who swore up and down that he was too good for daytime and that he would go on to win oscar after oscar. Ashford's real problem is (or at least has been) that he takes his character and the soap too seriously -- behind the scenes, his complaints about the writing and direction eventually get too much for execs to take. From an interview after his 1993 firing:

"What I was going through was a series of meetings with [executive producer] Ken Corday, [co-executive producer] Tom Langan, and other people at NBC." he continues. "I was talking to them about my creative concerns. They had to "buffoon" Jack. He had raped the show's leading heroine. The writers had to put in the work to get audiences on his side and one way to do that was to make Jack a comedic character.

I loved Jack and Jen at the Spectator. They had great chemistry. Sweet Jen with crazy semi-villain Jack. It's what will work for Ciara and Ben, though Ben truly being a serial killer and on the loose is SO crazy. I think Missy got tired of Matt's fights against management and as said before, he became more trouble than he was worth. But - she screwed him over when she decided to quit all those years ago, to move to Tennessee with Scott and plant their family there. Matt was left without a job and he wasn't happy about it.

In the original story plan, Jack would have slept with Kate thus breaking up Jen and Jack. This was to free up Jennifer for Austin and they were going to make Billie and Jack a couple. Then when MA, CC, and MS were fired Billie was moved into Bo's orbit. And that story about Harper duping Jack into signing documents about that dump site that made Abigail sick was quickly put together for Jack's exit.
