A lot of oil, sweat, tans, no tattoos, great hair, and definitely buff and hunky. Today these guys would all have facial hair, covered in tattoos, hardly any hair, and they'd look very pale and thin.
I miss that look. A lot more effort went into looking good and it was worth it.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I owned the VHS that's shown in the OP.

I did too, R5!

What do they do in the video?

When I think of 80s hunk, I think of the low rent version Reb Brown, then I think of Space Mutiny, then I think of the MST3K episode that featured it, then I think of this brilliant video that just has all of the names the MST3K guys gave the main character.

You would never see a photo with 7 white guys nowadays. They would throw in a couple of minorities so it's not racist. There were more blondes in the 80's. I very rarely see a naturally blonde guy anymore. The guys are more beefy today and covered in nasty tatts, people are also less attractive now than back then.
I very rarely see any attractive men in Hollywood movies or porn anymore.

In OP's pic, bottom left in the coral sweat pants is Colt model Dallas Flynn----a rare man who I think looks better with a mustache, which I usually dislike.

In the 80s, brown hair was considered "ethnic" enough.

The guy in the lower center in the OP photo is Francois Papillon, also known as Chris Ingram, Antoin Dijon, and other aliases, who was in Playgirl, Colt, many other gay-themed skin magazines and lots of stripping videos in the 80s. I thought he was one of the most handsome blond men when I was younger, and he had a full bush, even better in my adolescent mind. Of course, they all had full bushes back then. The good old days...

There's only ONE true hunk of the eighties.
Jon Erik Hexum.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 5, 2018 3:09 AM |
Whatever happened to him, R15?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 5, 2018 3:10 AM |
For such a horrendous decade politically, it had two things we loved: "The Golden Girls" and gorgeous hunks.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 5, 2018 3:11 AM |
r17 doesn't know that Jon Erik Hexum died young due to a firearms accident on a TV set?
He was fooling around with a gun using blanks. But blanks kill people, too.

I have to agree that most of the 1980's "pin up" hunks were exceptionally sexy. They were "pretty" yet incredibly masculine/manly all at the same time. Sun-kissed, well-groomed, pumped muscles and oiled. Quite a seductive look all the way around really. You might not care for their fashion choices, but many were undeniably fuckable.
