Cherry-Lime soda is the best.

I completely gave up soda about 20 years ago, so I'm not really qualified, but...I'll pick up a 6-pack of these if I catch them on sale.
Yeah, I really like it, but one is a "treat" I won't really be in the mood for for another couple weeks.

Apple soda sounds nice! (I'm non-soda mec upthread...) And this past xmas, my sister and mom got these really good Martinelli Sparkling Apple Ciders...which were fantastic!
Yeah yeah..."sparkling cider" is not a soda, but...they am so tasty! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
They're tasty and sweet and fizzy, like soda for grownups.

When I was a teenager I loved Hansens Grapefruit Soda.
It seemed unbearably sweet when I was in my 20s.
I've always loved Orangina, but haven't had one in years.
Now that I'm old I get excited about iced coffee. Coffee beans are like fruit, right?

I love Cheerwine, which is a wild cherry-flavored soda made with real sugar - I guess it's sort of a regional thing but I'm able to find it in CA at upscale grocery stores with no problem. Also strawberry Crush.
There are a number of apple sodas being produced. I know Jones Soda makes a green apple flavor that is very tasty, and there are also some from Mexico that are available as well, like Manzanita Sol and Sidral Mundet.

We never had soda in the house when I was growing up so the only time I ever drank it was at friends and relatives' houses. Now as an adult I still rarely drink soda which means my answer is pretty meaningless but here it is anyway:
1) Jarritos Tamarind soda - a co-worker introduced me to it a few years ago and It was good
2) Stewart's Black Cherry Wishniak - I discovered this when I moved to Philadelphia, I probably only drink it once every year or two but it's good with cheesesteaks.

The way Coke in little glass bottles tasted when I was a kid. It had of course pure cane sugar in it, but it must have had something else, maybe more real cola. I've tried Mexican and Passover Coke which are both made with pure cane sugar, but something is missing.

There was an actual study worldwide that found black people everywhere (Africa, the U.S., South America, the Caribbean) have a weakness for fruit flavoured beverages and, especially, grape and blackcurrant. Blackcurrant Fanta is the best selling soda in Africa, beating Coke, Sprite and regular Fanta.

[R53] They used to sell Capt'n Eli's Blueberry Soda at the Bristol Farms on Wilshire in Santa Monica, along with a number of other not commonly seen out here sodas (e.g., Big Red, BubbleUp). I loved it, and at $1.59 a bottle I considered it a fun treat and would pick up a couple of bottles now and then. Unfortunately, seemingly without warning, they stopped selling all of the specialty sodas; although, now that I think about it, I really haven't scoured the store/asked anyone to see if they simply stopped stocking them in the referigerator section across from the deli (derp, maybe I'll remember to look next time). In any case, thanks for the link!

I remember from the 1960s a type of bottled pop called Ma's Old Fashioned. They had really good root beer and orange soda, the orange soda actually had a little bit of pulp and was delicious, so unlike the shit they have now all made by giant corporations usually containing god knows what and high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar. There were also grape and cherry flavored soda pops that were a nice change from Coke, 7-Up or Pepsi. It seems to me that Dr. Pepper then tasted better than the slop they expect people to drink now. Pop tasted better then and it was usually out of a glass bottle, apparently very little of that exists today--corporatism wins out yet again. I drink none of that stuff now and haven't for over 40 years--the closest I come now is ginger ale in a gin drink (gin bucks) or tonic water in a gin and tonic.

Fresca. It is the only thing I have knowingly consumed in the last 25 years that has that fake sugar neurotoxin that tastes like antifreeze and has been linked to auto-immune disorders. I think they have changed the formula since I was a kid as I haven’t had it for a long time and it tastes different to me now. I both love it and simultaneously feel like it is poisoning me. Why can we not have a cane sugar Fresca?
