Trying to be spoiler free Problem 1 the villain did something in the past to main character, in Oceans 11, it was current (Dating his wife). Problem 2 the reveal of the 8th, was all tell no show, I didn't really buy they would be involved. Felt like lazy writing.

Aside from that I had fun, enjoyable, likable actresses and characters. Look forward to 9 and 10 but I could see where critics were left lukewarm or they got mixed reviews.

Let me see: when the movie starred men, they planned to rob a casino vault; but when they remade it to have women do it, the women have to steal a necklace off another woman's neck.

Reviews don't mean shit these days. Plenty of movies open to mixed to negative reviews but still make money because PEOPLE WANT TO SEE THEM. Maybe no one wants to see a feminist version of Oceans 12, 10, whatever? The real question isn't why are white male critics panning the film but why aren't women turning out to support a movie with a predominantly female cast?

I've never seen her in anything. I know she gets a lot of shit, perhaps deserved, for using callout culture to get ahead. She's one of those puzzling people in my life I know something about even though I don't know her personally and have never seen her perform.

Britney Spears was the same way in the late 1990s. I heard about her and heard about her but never heard one of her songs -- to this day I'm not sure I have.

I just briefly pulled up rotten tomatoes . Of the first five reviews the three white men like it and the two women don't.

She started out as quirky and anti-establishment but when she started to get a bit of attention, she aggressively sought mainstream success. But the audience decided that she isn’t America’s Secret and this upsets Mindy. She needs someone to blame for not being beloved as the new Julia Roberts.

I'm with r45. I liked her in The Office, then was stoked to hear she was a writer there. I still think Kelly is one of the best creations we've had lately.

I had high hopes for her show, but it was abysmal, never even made it thru an entire episode.

Kaling seems to think because she wrote one thing great that she can write anything great...and a thousand white dudes have been laboring under the same delusion for the past 20 years, and they got dressed down, too.
