Help me find the name of a painting/illustration...
It’s of a bald child looking out of a tenement apartment window at some birds that have landed on the windowsill. Unusual looking and not painted in a realistic style.
It was on the cover of a book, but I can’t find it. I was sure it was Sally’s Pigeons, but that turned out to be the name of a Cyndi Lauper song. It may have been “(girl’s name) and the sparrows” or something. Google turns up nothing.

Nothing beats a tasteful Keane Kid.

That’s extremely close, but alas, not the one. The child in mine looks almost sickly.
Thanks anyway!

Getting warmer. Need a brick building, though.

Obviously, the painting/illustration isn't famous, especially if you're having such a difficult time finding it.
Was this art used as an illustration for a book, an article in magazine? You need to give more details, such as how long ago you saw this painting/illustration.

Why is the child bald??
Is it called A CHILD'S GUIDE TO LUKEMIA, or something??

Perhaps this will do in the mean time --

It was just a novel or something. I actually saw it at the library and I liked it. They usually tell you what’s on the cover on the dust jacket. I wrote it down, can’t find it. It’s definitely not famous, but I think I’ve seen it somewhere else. It’s one of those paintings sort of in the Paul Cadmus vein, most people would not know about it.

I FOUND IT! Thanks anyway guys. I think your thoughts somehow directed the energies that be or whatever.
It’s called Lilly and the Sparrows by Philip Evergood, 1939.
Thanks again, bye!

I've seen exorcisms less harrowing.

That's not a child, nor bald.

Damn you, R20
I should have known that this thread could only lead to the rediscovery of something I'd hoped I'd forgotten forever.

That Emily Rose film was awful, not scary at all.

OP already knew the answer but posted this as part of her ongoing investigation into the Secret Elite Pedophile 'n' Murders Made to Look Like Suicides Ring.
