How am I just learning about this grumpy cute breed?
No, they look creepy, and I love dogs.

Love the natural frown

My friend has a Brussels Griffon/Affenpinscher mix. He is the friendliest dog ever. Also, hardly sheds and doesn’t need excessive exercise.

It's not a "natural" frown. Nothing is really natural about deliberately inbreeding aminals made to mutate to the point of hideous, life-shortening deformity.

They have to be kept away from bright light. You can’t feed them after midnight and you must not get them wet.

My ex had a smooth coat version and she was incredibly smart and sweet and loving. He traveled to the Midwest and spent like 1K+ on her - all of which I deemed insane. But she certainly was a great dog, no doubt about it.

$1000 for a dog? That's some expensive poop-scooping. Does she have them bronzed?

Wow 😮

They're cute, but my favorite is the Belgian Tervuren. I also love the Alaskan Malamute/wolf hybrid.

Here's a dog breed I never knew about until a couple of months ago when I encountered one on a walk. The Lancashire Heeler doesn't have the sort of head you'd expect on a short-legged dog. (It's thought to be bred from corgis and Manchester terriers) They're rare enough that the British Kennel Club has designated them a vulnerbale breed

If you like these dogs, then google Affenpinscher. You’ll never be the same.

Awful things that people do to animals, creating exophthalmic, mash-faced dogs.

r4 From the Cracked article:
[quote]It can get equally awkward with animals that refuse to have sex, though. "There was a spaniel about 10 years ago that was one of the best around and that made it to some prestigious national competitions," M. Kuhn explains. "He also had a rare color pattern, so the breeder got a lot of calls for breeding matches. But then, they found out something the first mating out -- he was gay." No matter what they did to entice him [the details of which are probably best left to the imagination], he would only stick by a few of the other males in the kennel and, despite his excellent background and genes (and the owner not being a supporter of artificial insemination), never bred. "I should clarify: never bred with a female."
