Who or what, in your youth, cemented your "type" ?
Mine was a boy in high school who had a flat, broad muscular chest a la Miles O'keefe (pictured) who, while not overly muscular in the arms, would wear this one particular (it was light blue) velour, deep V short sleeved shirts (it was the early 80s) which was a bit small and emphasized the crease between the pecs and his clavicle (the "he-vage" as they call it now). I remember seeing him in the locker room shirtless and it is forever ingrained in my mind. I am a chest person, but a particular kind of chest person. He also had wide cheekbones and close-set eyes, which has fixated my ideal person.
To this day, with all of the "hot" men on instagram and such, I forever look for this type.
Oh, and the ubiquitous Bruce Lee poster which was popular in the 70s created an Asian appeal in me too (it was the chest!)
What began your fixations or ideal man?

I don't really have a type, but I remember having a huge crush on my tight-bodied, blonde swim teacher when I was about 6 years old, so that's probably why I always notice the blondes to this day.

I've always loved the look of dark swarthy men. From the time I was little and my mother loved old movies, looking at Tyrone Power hypnotized me. Later I watched an old Gidget movie and fell in love with James Darren. And there was Bernardo in West Side Story, so George Chakiris. That type has been consistent forever although like R3, George Michael.

In grade school I had a crush on a pretty Italian boy with brown skin, great black hair, and huge hazel eyes that I could not stop looking at. I still love tanned pretty guys with longish hair.
Joshua Morrow was the main crush of my youth though. I hated when my mom and grandmother watched soaps, but I saw Josh on TV one fateful day in the mid 90s and that was it. You gotta have nice lips like Josh.

When I was a teen, a friend of mine grew into a hotly built rugby player. He had cheekbones and jawline to die for, and ridiculously stacked up luscious muscles that he would readily show off. Really preppy and hot... but a mess. I had a crush on him for many years (so did my whole town) and did a lot of chasing of that "type". I realized in my 30s it was leading me nowhere except to unhappiness, and felt lucky to recognize I was getting attention from smart professional guys with collage degrees and/or plenty of life experience so I should just acknowledge and be grateful for that instead.

Men in shorts. Rugby players, runners, basketball players before they switched to those hideous baggy shorts. I became obsessed with a man’s thighs and calves, especially when they were muscular and well shaped. I’d always watch men sit down so that I could see what their thighs looked like when they sat down. I still use that as a litmus test to see if a man has nice legs.

I never had a type per se, but a fondness for certain features: dark hair, hairy, overly developed thighs and forearms, either long hair or very close-cropped, prominent noses, sharp jawlines. A great smile and sense of humour go a long way too to attract me. Probably easier to say there are a just a couple "types" I don't find attractive. I suppose I'm easy.

I went to an all boys prep school. So the preppy - frat type became my type without even knowing it. I also grew up on country music and Westerns movies and television shows - so I love a good country boy- not too skinny or fat- and quiet. I like a quiet man. And finally Bert Ward as Robin and Robert Conrad turned me - so I like small guys that you can carry over your shoulders.

My cousin - I had to stay with him and his family when my mother had one of her "turns" - actually, she was severely mentally ill, but it had to be hidden away.
How can I describe him?
Short - he was about 5 ft 6 .
Shiny jet black hair parted in the middle, sapphire blue eyes. Pale, pale white skin. No freckles. Big Roman nose
I watched as he became a man (he was slightly older than me)
His body went from skinny nothing to smooth muscles - with a jet black treasure trail and a tiny bit of hair between his defined pecs. His legs, muscled and hairy, were a thing of wonder,
We had each other - flip&flop. Many times - over several years
Even his wife even knew that we were FBs - he was absolutely open about it (I was Best Man at his wedding) - and, yes, we fucked the night before his wedding
We both knew it was the last time...forever.
He's been gone now for 15 years - cancer is a bitch.

His dick was legendarily huge (he would flash it at parties as a parlor game but I never looked... it was like choosing not to stare at the sun) and he was a year round athlete (football, wrestling, baseball). There were times my attraction to him felt like it would actually undo me. Torture for 4 years. Since then, black men do it to me. Yet my partner is white. So the denial continues.

Since I grew up in the late '50s and the '60s there were lots of westerns on TV. Most of the actors who played the cowboys aroused me even before I could have an orgasm. I wanted to spank and fuck Michael Landon, Robert Conrad, James Arness, Richard Boone or Chuck Conners among numerous others. Otherwise I tended to like the blue collar types in their 30s or so. Preferences evolve though so what I may have liked then might not necessarily hold true now. I do like a cowboy who moans "OWWWWWWWWWW"when he gets a good swat on his ass. Uniforms turn me on too. I swear to all my various Gods I met a boy possessed by a Fae or a demigod when I was 17, and of course I worshipped him accordingly. He was slender with elegant hands, hair like gold and skin like cream and beestung lips. He had a voice like butter. He was tall & strong but also delicate like a young tree. He had an elfin smile and a mind quick & fluid as mercury. Everyone ate from his palms and he laughed at them for it. In the John Hughes vein, “I died for him”.
Then we graduated, parted ways and the supernatural force left him. Per his social media pics he became a Breeder and the sublime light left him. He works as an overweight accountant husfrau now and I avoid his city diligently, but in any crowd my eye is still drawn first to thin lovely twinks with gold in their hair and louche shaggy grace and a wicked way of laughing...

r118, no I never heard of Hollywood Blue. When Chuck Connors made The Rifleman in the early 1960s all I know is that I needed smelling salts to see his generous basket and ass in those tight jeans they put him in even when I was about 10 years old. I was jealous of his TV son Mark having that kind of daddy all to himself. Maybe someone would care to elaborate on Hollywood Blue. I guess in real life Chuck Conners and Johnny Crawford were quite good friends. He often went to his house to read lines with him and I think was also friends with Chuck Conners' sons. Have heard that CC went both ways.

I don't know if that gay porn film Connors made is online or not. Google it. He played a sailor servicing a marine. My understanding is he did quite a bit of porn.
