You are only contractual obligated to do one season, if the pilot is picked up. She did a lot of press and promotion for this show. It looks bad to me. Also, she may have only agreed to do one season. Or the are not giving her a pay increase for the following season.

I know of someone who chose not to work on Nashville specifically to avoid working with her.

911 is great. Angela and I think her name is Aiyesha are excellent in this. Surprisingly, once hot Peter Krause is a bore here.

Just replace her with Connie Nielsen. No one will notice.

911 has been very successful and it was just renewed.

I watched it 3 times and what a snooze fest. I am officially OVER Murphy .

I have friends who work on that show, and after having 90 hour, 6 days weeks, I would say no to a 2nd season too.

911 is fun rather than gritty, which is fine. There's a fuckton of gritty on TV already. And it's done really well in the ratings, despite what R14 thinks. As for Britton; I liked her character, but I didn't really care for the storyline about her dementia-suffering Mom.

Anyone who read the piece at OP's link would know that this show has been a hit. It's the biggest hit fox has got since Empire (that's 4years ago)...so many haters commenting here saying the show is a flop

R21 the mom died and Connie's character left the hot fireman and went to Ireland.

Yeah it's a ratings hit but boy was that last episode grotesque with fat bloated dead guy that they had to prick to have all his innerds come oozing out. Ryan Murphy is so over the top with his shows.

R23, I haven't seen the latest episode. I did know the Mom died at least.

Lord, it feels like Mariette Hartley's career has been longer than Olivia de Havilland's.

But entirely in garbage.

Connie Nielsen would rock the part, actually.

She was fab subbing for Mariska on SVU and I was actually sad when Olivia came back.

She will return for the 9th season of American Horror Story to reprise her role of Vivien Harmon when they do the Murder House/Coven crossover.

It's funny that the actor LEAST responsible for a show's success can feel that he is the reason folks tune in. Some of these folks need a reality check.

Sometimes viewers watch something in spite of someone who is in it.

Just saw her on an old "Ellen" as Joely Fisher's bitchy sister.

Good riddance. Her character was seriously one dimensional. She had no depth what so ever. All the other characters were fleshed out, with flaws and all. She was just too perfect, too nice and too smart. It's like the writers had no idea what to do with her. I wonder if she sensed it too and that's why she left.

R16 LOL, same! She was the only character that annoyed me. I wasn't even sad when she went to Ireland.

She was the worst part of Nashville. And miscast in August, Osage County. And just an overall bad actress. I want to like her because of her great hair and I've heard she was amazing in Friday Night Lights (I can't be bothered to watch a show about football) but overall she just falls really flat for me.

I only know her from "American Horror Story" and she wasn't bad in that. Not at all.

I will be stepping into the role.

Not sure if she is a bitchy Diva - Murphy has used her before and again. 911 is an actual hit for Fox so much they created a new one in Austin just like Chicago PD etc...
