That was fantastic, OP. What kind of rabbit hole were you down when you found that?

J'adore. She is intelligent, thoughtful, and articulate. I love that she doesn't give pat, platitudinous answers. She might have done some questionable things in her life, but I admire her. I read a quote about her ex Roger Vadim that I think is one of the most insightful things one can say about pretty much anyone. She once said that she could say the most nicest thing about him that will make you think he is the best person on earth. And she can also say something so vile about him that will make you think the worst of them. And both examples will be true. She went on to say that he gave her her children, so she chooses to think well of him. It is a wonderful way of saying that no one is perfect, and you can remember and embrace the good things about someone, and try to forget the bad.

Jane has always been a progressive person. I never believed that to be fake about her. Love Jane!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 19, 2018 1:57 AM |
I love her! I grew up adoring Jane Fonda. She was the most gifted actress of her generation and I admire her courage and her convictions.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 19, 2018 2:02 AM |
Thanks, Jane!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 19, 2018 2:10 AM |
When Hanoi Jane apologizes for her treasonous acts against our boys during the Vietnam War, then I’ll give a shit what she said about gay rights 40 years ago. But probably not.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 19, 2018 3:35 AM |
She's apologized many times you cretin.
You can't possibly be gay or under the age of 60.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 19, 2018 4:18 AM |
I've always been very Fonda've her.

R6 = Ugly American
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 19, 2018 4:26 AM |
R6 is John Wayne's cigarette butt stubbed out in Megan Kelly's curdled Spanx.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 19, 2018 4:27 AM |
Wow it took six posts before a deplorable called her Hanoi Jane. She's a Goddess (and she's apologized many times).
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 19, 2018 4:29 AM |
Vietnam war was a disaster. It's sad that she apologized. She was right all along.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | February 19, 2018 4:36 AM |
To bad she supported the Viet Cong and said it was right for them to torcher our soldiers, kind of means she has no credibility whatsoever.

[quote] To bad she supported the Viet Cong and said it was right for them to torcher our soldiers
Oh, dear.
Please tell me you specifically mean "torcher" as some type of play on the self-immolating monks from that time.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 19, 2018 9:55 AM |
Jane Fonda is, I think, a talented actress, and a decent person. It is just a shame that she seems to have many issues, about her looks, about her relationship with her father, about her relationships with men etc. I guess she is no diffeent to most of us in that regard though. I think she is just as good an actor as her father too.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 19, 2018 10:03 AM |
She looks so beautiful here
by Anonymous | reply 16 | February 19, 2018 10:29 AM |
She's fab. And she was right to oppose the war in Vietnam.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | February 19, 2018 10:55 AM |
Thanks OP.. I have occasionally voiced some shitty things about Fonda but man was she always woke and subversive? Maybe she was a bit of a dilettante but her intelligence and passion can't be denied. She was right about just about everything and now no one can agree on anything. What a stunning person she was.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 19, 2018 10:59 AM |
What an asshole interviewing her.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 19, 2018 11:06 AM |
To speak up in this manner in 1979 about gay rights was incredibly courageous. I think i just fell in love with JF.
Still that clip is a bit melancholy as probably most of the guys in the background died in the 80s of AIDS.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 19, 2018 11:31 AM |
I hope Ms. Fonda has found herself a good woman.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 19, 2018 11:59 AM |
Wow! Amazing clip, OP.
"You're on the side of the angels."
She is amazing--one-of-a-kind.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 19, 2018 12:04 PM |
The only thing wrong with her is that little award she won on 4-9-79.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 19, 2018 12:11 PM |
Jane looks so happy to be walking the red carpet arm in arm with another woman.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | February 19, 2018 12:13 PM |
And there was that surprise ending with her and Debra Monk in "This Is Where I Leave You." (Go to 1:01 if you just can't wait.)
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 19, 2018 12:18 PM |
Ms. Fonda looks so natural kissing another woman.

Not really courageous - what was going to happen to her?
[quote]—Learn to use Gurl Please correctly.
So, one one level you're admiring HER for "standing out from the crowd" - yet, you're telling me to follow the crowd and follow some spastic "rule" that's in your head.
I'll say gurl please any way I fucking want to.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 19, 2018 12:30 PM |
Yaaaaas. I’m 25 and I consider Jane Fonda one of the great activists of the previous generation. Power to the people
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 19, 2018 12:34 PM |
R20 is right, r27. It really wasn't a very good use of "Gurl, please."

[quote][R20] is right, [R27]. It really wasn't a very good use of "Gurl, please."
A very good use?
Such conformists!

I knew exactly what I was doing.

Gurl, please...
by Anonymous | reply 37 | February 19, 2018 12:52 PM |
Always loved Jane Fonda.
And when she did an entire movie 7 years ago IN FRENCH she slayed every one and every thing.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 19, 2018 12:56 PM |
OP, now you're just being stupid.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 19, 2018 12:56 PM |
Well OF COURSE Barbarella would defend the gays

a "Gurl, please..." perhaps
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 19, 2018 1:17 PM |
OP has stated her boundaries .
by Anonymous | reply 44 | February 19, 2018 1:20 PM |
She looks especially beautiful in that clip.
She really came into her real beauty later in life.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 19, 2018 1:21 PM |
Ms. Fonda is still gorgeous.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 19, 2018 9:10 PM |
That unfortunately is not true R46. Why is there always some canned ham trying to claim that Jane Fonda looks great? She is many, many procedures past looking gorgeous. She was however a very pretty young woman, a gorgeous anorexic 40 year old and the best looking 70 year old woman I've seen. She looks brittle and frightened and distorted now. Desperate to be perceived as funny and sexy. Her intelligence and integrity have dimmed quite a bit from the time of the above video too, Her whole life is to be celebrated - there is no need to gild the lily.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | February 19, 2018 9:34 PM |
The ironic thing is that ten years before she was Hanoi Jane the Pentagon named her "Miss United States Army Recruiting," draped her in a red, white, and blue ribbon, and sent her out around the country to convince people to enlist. True. Look it up.
She's always been a goddess. Whether she was having three-ways with Vadim and the girls from Mme. Claude's, or plowing Ted Turner with a strap-on.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 19, 2018 9:50 PM |
Why are you trying to pass your opinions as fact R47? I think Jane is a beautiful, sexy, intelligent, and funny woman with plenty of integrity.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 19, 2018 9:50 PM |
r47= Megan Kelly
by Anonymous | reply 50 | February 19, 2018 10:25 PM |
R50, lol.. Bitchy enough to be.

bump - for people who have not seen this.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 7, 2018 12:55 AM |
"Not really courageous - what was going to happen to her?"
Very few stars were openly defending gays back then.
