Barbra Streisand's Nose Video and Style Discussion

I always found her quite unphotogenic. She did at least look quite good at the time she had the sun bleached hair in the early 70s, I can see why men would find her attractive in that period, and she looks great for her age now. Her nose was whittled away at before but it was subtle work.

I think her current hairstyle needs to be changed. It doesn't compliment her face at all.

R2 It was supposed to be a take on "Bette Davis Eyes" but yes, it is bad.

I think the only time she looked really good was in "What's Up Doc?" That long, straight hair was very flattering. She also had a really good body then.

The 'fro was a HUGE mistake. Very unflattering.

And then she adopted the hairstyle she has now had for DECADES. It's not awful, but it is so boring to wear the same hair for that long a time. But she's now 100, so nothing looks good.

I think something less severe than the straightened hair look would be better. I would love it if she went back to her early look and feel it would compliment her face at her age.

R8 That is just a dated look. And she is too old to wear it ironically.

Streisand started looking like Marjoe Gortner during her Superman phase.

Classical Barbra was stunning.

Whether she likes it or not, this is the look she will be remembered for. Everyone who imitates her dons this hairdo.

My understanding is that the Streisandish snout did indeed receive some very minor, tasteful work.

Her publicity photos for "A Star is Born" are truly striking. When it came to backlit perms Barbra was queen.

Sarah Jessica Parker tried to cultivate the Streisand look but failed miserably.

Barbra is too shrewd to fool around with her nose in that it could ruin the tone of her singing voice. Look what happened to Connie Francis.

She crimped her hair, and she went down the stoney end. She never wanted to go down the stoney end!

R16 Did people think that was pretty back in the 70s? She looks awful. The hair, makeup, the clothes -- everything.

R20 Jon Peters was Barbra's hairstylist during that period and I believe he was the one who started that trend.

Her hair looked atrocious in The Main Event. I'm surprised Ryan O'Neal agreed to work with her.

Barbra brought something unique to the silver screen.

Rhoda Morgenstern says that she convinced Barbra to keep her nose. Which is baffling because Barbra lived in Brooklyn and the Morgensterns lived in the Bronx.
