R261 It's the ONLT NFL shoe deal. It was absolutely historic, and it set him up to be seen as the "first NBA level" NFL star. No QB has ever been offered a shoe deal. The right management would have used that leg up and driven him straight to the stratosphere.

But if he truly is falling out of love with the game, then he should play through another contract while saving as much as he can, and then go into something more fulfilling.

I could be wrong, but I think that hanging with Cristiano Renaldo may have had a negative effect on him. CR is living the dream, and OBJ knows that he will never be on that level(along with everyone else.) It may have taken some of the wind out of his sails, and we know he tends to act out emotionally. According to my sports talk shows today, "OBJ has played his last game in a NY Giants uniform." Shannon Sharpe.

It is looking like he will be traded for a couple of first round picks(not in the same year) to the LA Rams. He would love to live in LA, and they have a great QB, coach and defense. Right now it comes down to money and picks, and how much they want him.

It seems that when Mara spoke, that telegraphed to the cognoscenti that the Giants were done with him. My guy Cris Carter has promised to reach out again to him(OBJ flew out to LA last year when he skipped OTAs to work out with Cris) and he has really put his rep on the line saying that Odell is a hard worker and doesn't deserve the "don't have a fuck to give" reputation he has developed of late.

The money is going to be an issue as well. Ever since he announced that he wants QB money, he has become persona non grata with many of the owners. My husband (the agent) thinks that Antonio Brown is the best WR currently playing, and he does not get QB money. Plus AB is a locker room leader and coach's dream. While everyone may not share that opinion(some favor Julio Jones and some like Odell best) there is a pretty general consensus that AB and Julio are players whose manner more echoes Jerry Rice and Larry Fitzgerald in their more reserved nature.
