I knew him at Georgetown where he got his grad degree, and I found him very much a gentleman, surprisingly unassuming, and extremely charming. I'm not surprised R15 by his unassuming personality. Spanish royalty , like the Scandinavian and Dutch Royal Houses, are not held in the same "divine right" as the British, Japanese and some others. The King has an active role in politics and the other royals have to work for a living for the most part. They are very modern in that regard and far more accessible and accountable to their respective populations. I'm sure he was raised with respect for his lineage and history but also that he's just a man and ultimately a civil servant. His father was able to suppress an attempted military coup in 1975.
