He's actually pretty good looking now. When he was on the show as a child and a gawky teen I kept wishing someone would put a bag over his head.

I think he will be one of those guys who gets better looking as he ages like Patrick Dempsey.

Actually, I think most of the cast of Roseanne has aged well, including Roseanne herself. She is one of the few celebs who got good plastic surgery.

Usually, child actors are great and lose it when they get older. Maybe he'll do the reverse.

Putting acting ability aside, I thought the kids all looked very "real" and weren't the usual cookie-cutter types of kids they put on sitcoms.

He's got a handsome face, but that hair is a no go. Way too severe, with too much goop on it.

I appreciate now what I didn’t before about the show, including its casting and acting. I always thought Roseanne was a terrible actor but now I think she was really kind of interesting. Typical poor acting would be wooden delivery of lines as written. Roseanne barked and yelled and laughed when she was angry...she definitely internalized and felt what she was saying. She just didn’t act anything like what we would expect from an actor. Michael Fishman was *really* young on the show and he had few lines so he was bound to be a poor actor. And as far as appearances go, I always thought Darlene was homely but since she has grown up I think she is pretty attractive. I think the show was very well created and put together, and that includes the “bad acting” and “homely” actors that fit perfectly with the run down home furnishings and generally depressed nature of the whole show’s environment. They really were approximating an average family in every way. That’s what impresses me most about the show now, especially given everything that came before it on TV.

He didn't have much to work with when he was younger, so I think he turned out pretty damn well.

R27 I would bet Joey Lawrence and his brothers were sexually abused. They were all cute kids, and Joey was highly sexualized while he was on Blossom given his young age. Given what Corey Feldman and others have revealed about Hollywood, and given that Joey was in Gimme a Break at, what, five? I imagine he has some deeply buried traumas. If I ever knew anyone who tried to get their kids on TV, I would watch that family like a hawk and have CPS on speed dial.

Fishman was on Roseanne's reality show the other night visiting her family at their home in Hawaii. He's apparently still very close to her and has been since the Roseanne show, and is quite close friends with Roseanne's son in L.A..

He’s not good looking, but like other posters here I’m surprised that he turned out relatively ok looking. His looks weren’t much as a teenager so it thought he’d get worse not better. Good for him and his average face.

I thought he was great up until the last 2-3 seasons when the writing took a serious turn for the worse. At least he wasn’t one of those obnoxiously precocious child actors .

A lot of people don't remember this, but Alecia "Lecy" Goranson had a major role opposite HIlary Swank and Chloe Sevigne in Boys Don't Cry and was great.
