Moving to Lowell MA

Found a nice loft downtown. Well-priced. the downtown looks very nice and charming, with some artists' studios, interesting converted mills, decent food scene, train to Boston.

However -- is it still too gritty and scary? Will the property values not increase? Talk to me, sensible Loungers. Since we seem to have so many Massachusetts people here...

I could swear I responded...?

Anyway, I have a cousin that lives in Amherst, and I've visited Lowell several times - it's beautiful.

Most importantly: birth place of Bette Davis.

Nothing in commutable distance to Boston is really gritty anymore (maybe Revere) and if you are close to a T stop value will increase.

Youre going to want to check VERY carefully about the insulation of said loft and said loft building and how much neighbors pay in utilities e.g. heat.
