Storing Files in 'the Cloud?'

Do you store your digital files, photos, etc. using cloud storage? If so, what's your favorite?

I like dropbox best for random stuff, and google drive for photos.

Apple, of course

I don't. I'm still wary of the security of the cloud, and I'd be embarrassed if others found out how many photos I take of my cats. And of course, my cats would be too. They're not wearing clothes in most of them.

Yes, I've got everything of any importance stored on OneDrive. I've learned better than not to backup everything one too many times.

Can someone briefly break down the advantages of Dropbox vs OneDrive vs Cloud? I’m leery of Cloud but I understand it’s probably best for storage. I need a free but relatively-secure service above all, as I’m very short on disposable income.

I’m finally at the end of my rope emailing documents & photos to myself and getting locked out or having to log in constantly or having them get corrupted. I’m applying for a lot of jobs right now as well as starting a court case so I need things readily handy so send to printers or relevant people.

Why not Google Drive, R6? The free version has a 15GB limit, which is more than Dropbox.

I tend to use GD for personal stuff and OneDrive for work stuff.

I sang the title of this thread to the tune of “Pulling Mussels from a Shell.”

Google Drive and Mega.nz

I’m told Wuala has much to recommend, only you have to pay handsomely for the service and must manually encrypt your files before you upload.

For the non-tech savvy this seems a lot to manage...

Anyone know how to copy all photos from ICloud to another cloud service like Google? Other than one by one.

by Anonymousreply 11February 20, 2020 3:09 PM

It is foolish not to back up to a cloud storage service.

by Anonymousreply 12February 20, 2020 3:17 PM

iCloud and Dropbox

by Anonymousreply 13February 20, 2020 3:20 PM

No. I just throw all my illegal porn on the street in front of the police station.

by Anonymousreply 14February 20, 2020 3:42 PM

I don't store anything online. I do use OneDrive to move certain files from computer to computer without having physically move them via a flash drive. But once they're moved they're removed from OneDrive.

I don't need no damn CLOUD. I just have this guy working in my basement.
