Thomas Roberts leaves NBC, MSNBC
Per a MSNBC spokesperson:
“Thomas Roberts has decided to leave MSNBC for other endeavors. He’s been a valued member of the NBC News and MSNBC family since 2010, and we’re thankful for his contributions and Emmy Award-winning coverage for the news division. We wish him success in his new adventure.”

He had a drinking problem?
I'm not very familiar with him as a host or newsreader, but the last time I saw him about a month ago, he had trouble thinking on his feet and formulating questions for his panel. There were a lot of "ums: and uncomfortable pauses. In the very least, he was not as quick on his feet as other hosts. Was he usually like this?

Few to no news people, even the most renowned, are that impressive when they have to ad lib. Just watch the big guys when something major happens and they have to break into regular programming to report on it and there hasn't been time for anyone to write a script for them. They all come off like low grade morons.

He’s leaving because the dime is about to be dropped on him. His years of alcohol and meth abuse weren’t particularly conducive to his newsman image.

MSNBC churns through the talent pool almost to the point of abuse. My darling Alex Wagner landed a gig at CBS breakfast time, so I hope TR can do as well.

At least there is Mika still around during the weekday mornings with her still constant Clinton bashing.

MSNBC could do a little more house cleaning. I wish Rachel had a lead in that I liked. I used to be a Chris Hayes fan until he went BernieBro. Every time he has Bernie on, I change the channel and that is a lot. Maybe move Nicole Wallace up. I know she a republican but I like her. Chris Matthews gives me a headache with all of his screaming. I don't mind Lawrence O'Donnel but wish the 11th Hour followed Rachel as Bryan Williams is pretty good and has good guests. Joy Reed has done somethings online that have made me not respect her as much as I used to. I like her as a guest but hate it when she fills in for the whole hour.

Wonder why he had such a long time finding a new job?

A lot of times they are hired, but start the job much later so they don't announce it R16. Don't know what his husband does, but maybe it was a good fit for their relationship.
