I will preface this story by saying, yes, I am old.

Back when I was in 6th grade or so, HBO was a very fancy thing only a few households had. They only ran programming from say 4:00pm to midnight. If you were a subscriber you got a little square magazine every month to tell you what was on, since the TV Guide didn't list it yet.

For some reason, they would show "Lifeguard" constantly. Probably for little gay boys like me. Since this pre-dated the commonality of VCRs, I would scour the HBO book every month, so I could be sure to watch it every time it was on.
