Fox in ‘Preliminary Conversations’ to Revive ‘King of the Hill’
From “The X-Files” to “24: Legacy” to “Prison Break,” Fox has been in the business of reviving beloved series of late. The next series to make that list may just be “King of the Hill.”
“We have had preliminary conversations with Greg [Daniels] and Mike [Judge],” Dana Walden, Chairman and CEO of Fox Television Group, says. “I would like to explore that. We had a very preliminary conversation about that. Given what’s going on in the country, I think they had a point of view about how those characters would respond.”
Walden adds that Fox has only had one meeting earlier this summer with Daniels and Judge about the idea thus far, but she “would like to revisit it.”
“It was really just a first, exploratory, ‘Are you excited about this?’ They were both excited about it but they’re both very busy individually so it’s about finding time,” Walden says.
“King of the Hill” originally ran on Fox from 1997 to 2009 featuring the voice talent of Judge, Pamela Adlon, Kathy Najimy, Brittany Murphy, Johnny Hardwick, Stephen Root, Toby Huss, Chuck Mangione, and Tom Petty. The show’s original run featured 259 episodes, achieved global syndication, and became one of the network’s longest running series to date. It also briefly held the record for the second longest running animated sitcom in history and won two Emmy awards.

They did in 2011. Then some frau took MTV over in 2012 and canned it. She was let go a year later.
I want Daria back! The producers want it to come back as well and the cast wants to come back as well.
Brittany Murphy did the voice of the daughter on "King of the Hill". She'll have to be replaced.

[quote]Hank would have voted for Donald.
I can see Hank voting for Gary Johnson.
MAGA wouldn't have gone over well with Hank because according to him, American was already great.
Then there's Trump's handshake (remember the episode when his opinion of George W. changed after shaking his hand?);
Trump is a New Yorker (even though Hank discovered he was born in NYC he still hated New York);
Trump was involved in "showbiz," which is a big turn off to Hank (see Bobby);
Trump eats his steak well done;
Hank doesn't believe in cheating or taking shortcuts so collusion and theatrics would absolutely not be okay (plenty of examples of this);
Hank is uncomfortable with any talk about sex, remember the episode where Peggy teaches sex-ed, he didn't even like her saying the word, 'vagina' so there's no way he would be accepting of someone talking about pussy; also along these same lines is Melania's "modeling" career & the way Trump has talked about Ivanka;
Trump's multiple draft deferments & insulting McCain and the Khan family wouldn't have been cool with him, Hank's narrow urethra is the only reason he didn't serve in the military;
Hank is a family man while Trump has multiple marriages, is a philanderer and has talked about his lack of "hands on parenting"
I could go on and on.

I detested "Beavis and Butthead." The two jolly retards would torture animals. On one occasion they fed hot sauce to a dog; on another they put a dog in a washing machine. NOT funny. I liked "King of the HIll" but it shouldn't be revived. It ran its course and that should be the end of that. This whole business of rebooting practically everything is really tedious.

Let’s be honest:
Have would have reluctantly voted Trump and then immediately regretted it and dropped his support by now
Bill would have been swept up into the madness and voted Trump because a sad mess of a fool
Dale would have secretly voted for Bernie under the alias mentioned above of Rusty Shackleford
Khan would have secretly voted Trump while claiming publicly to be ‘with her’
Peg & Minh definitely went Hillary
Bobby & Connie volunteered for Hillary, but Bobby has future Bernie Bro written all over him
Nancy is a Trump Frau and future (fill in the blank) Becky gone viral
Boomhauer, as always, is a total wild card!

If the characters are 10 years older then it won’t be a reboot or a remake, but simply the next season. A continuation. It would indeed be a new idea since that’s something we’ve never seen from a cartoon sitcom. I’d give anything for a few seasons of The Simpsons with older characters.

If I recall, we don't find out whether Hank voted for W or not, after he was upset by W's limp handshake.
But people really missed the subtle conservativism of the show when it was on, and nowadays they wouldn't. At times it was borderline propaganda, especially with the gay/effete commentary.
This is a 2-year-old thread though so I don't think we really have to worry about it.

Mike judge is a Republican, I believe. Among other things, the Goode Family is his creation.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | March 18, 2019 2:55 PM

Despite his King of the Hill protagonist Hank Hill being identifiable as a conservative[60] and his The Goode Family being essentially a satire of many liberal viewpoints, Judge avoids discussing his political leanings.
In reviewing Idiocracy, Salon stated, "Judge's gimlet eye is so ruthless that at times his politics seem to border on South Park libertarianism."[61] A writer for the libertarian magazine Reason seems to agree, comparing King of the Hill to the anti-authoritarian point of view of South Park and The Simpsons, though he calls the show more populist, noting the disdain King of the Hill seems to have for bureaucrats, professionals, and big-box chains.[62]

He's most likely a libertarian. Rich white guy who won't discuss politics in Hollywood. Very South Park. Probably"couldn't bring himself" to vote for Hillary.
Idiocracy was vaguely racist.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | March 18, 2019 2:58 PM
|
Idiocracy was not racist, but it was prophetic
I think Judge leans right, but not socially which is why he seems libertarian to those trying to guess.
Someone trying to produce stealth right wing propaganda would not have portrayed Ann Richards favorably or offer Willie Nelson as a hero to the protagonist.
I think it’s also important to remember the primary mission statement of KOH: lampoon (in a more subtle way) Texas culture.
