Who'll play me?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 7, 2017 10:37 PM |
r1, Lens Dunham.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 7, 2017 10:48 PM |
This should cover from Mame until her death.
Most interesting part of her life. Chain-smoking delusional bitter bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 7, 2017 10:54 PM |
I had no idea Cate was 48. She looks great for her age.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 7, 2017 11:00 PM |
Hasn't this been done before? I'm not interested and not because I was not a fan of hers. Not interested because she was an original and any copy would be just a faded memory. Now if you made a production around her making the movie "Mame" - that might be interesting.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 7, 2017 11:06 PM |
Cate is all wrong for this, it will be shit.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 8, 2017 5:11 PM |
r6 Amen to that. She ruined "The Aviator" trying to play Katherine Hepburn, so now she's cast as Lucy which is even a bigger stretch for her.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 8, 2017 5:13 PM |
As in the straight male producer who sleeps with her rather than the straight female or gay casting director who knows she is all wrong for this?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 9, 2017 2:16 AM |
R8 Harvey??
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 16, 2017 12:32 AM |
It was a mistake to not to cast Whoopi Goldberg as Lucy.

Somewhere Debra Messing is sticking pins into a Cate Blanchett doll.

These things never work with celebrity subjects who are SO known and familiar to the audience. It becomes a wig parade and is always so unsatisfying.
"My Week With Marilyn" manages to barely work because of a few things. Marilyn Monroe certainly has an indelible image, but has been dead for 50+ years and even her image has blurred over time. Lucy's has not because we still watch "I Love Lucy" 60+ years later and have such a firm grasp on her persona and image. Why bother?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 16, 2017 1:12 AM |
R13, I love “wig parade!”
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 16, 2017 1:14 AM |
Cate won an Oscar as Hepburn so not everyone thought she was bad in the role.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 16, 2017 1:17 AM |
Frances McDormand for Vivian Vance.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 16, 2017 1:18 AM |
She's too old to portray Lucy as a starlet in the 30s and 40s. Even the 50s will be a stretch, as Lucy would still be younger than the near 50 year old Blanchett...actresses and their egos, I swear.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 16, 2017 1:24 AM |
Cate should hire Jeff of Punchy Players as a Lucy coach.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 16, 2017 1:24 AM |
Who plays the stewardess?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 16, 2017 1:31 AM |
I advise against the whole damn thing.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 16, 2017 1:37 AM |
R13 Catherine Hicks did a wonderful MM movie years ago for television. Of course, she was still largely unknown at the time, but she managed to create a rather realistic portrayal of both the movie star and Norma Jean. . Michelle Williams looked more like some frumpy frau who dressed up as Marilyn Monroe for Halloween.
R15 It was a makeup Oscar for Elizabeth. Her Hepburn is one of her weakest performances.

Who’s playing Desi?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 16, 2017 1:39 AM |
Drew Barrymore would make a much more interesting choice. Bobby Cannavale as Desi.

[quote]Cate won an Oscar as Hepburn
And "Crash" won an Oscar for Best Picture even though it was a piece of crap
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 16, 2017 1:41 AM |
Will this biopic tell the true story or will it be a valentine to Lucille Ball worshippers? I hope they will show Lucille Ball for what she was and this includes the negative aspects of her personality. Also, I hope it doesn't make Desi the villain. I always thought he was a victim of that monstrous cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 16, 2017 1:48 AM |
Will it include the now infamous "airplane incident"?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 16, 2017 1:52 AM |
r26, you mean the sneaking a cheese aboard the plane?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 16, 2017 2:09 AM |
Oh, I’m laughing already.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 14, 2020 9:27 PM |
I must be the only gay who is not a fan of Lucy...
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 14, 2020 9:46 PM |
Who will play Gary Morton?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 14, 2020 9:48 PM |
Next year they can remake The Beverly Hillbillies. Cate can play Granny Clampett and Miss Jane Hathaway.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 14, 2020 9:57 PM |
R12 has she got extra pins for Aman-da-man-da-man-da-manda-manda Bynes?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 14, 2020 10:17 PM |
CAN KEITH THIBODEAUX DO A CAMEO AS AN AGING LITTLE RICKY ?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 14, 2020 10:39 PM |
I have sufficient.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 14, 2020 10:51 PM |
Can we get Gary to talk Cate out of it?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 14, 2020 11:05 PM |
Didn’t Gillian Anderson do Lucy in American Gods? I recall her being quite good. I guess hot off Judy, it would be too soon for Renee to do this. Her body/face seem more suitable than Cate.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 14, 2020 11:08 PM |
Renee is even older than Cate
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 14, 2020 11:12 PM |
I guess they couldn't get Renee Zellweger.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 14, 2020 11:34 PM |
What is the angle they're going to have on the subject? They've got to have SOMETHING, because this is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 14, 2020 11:38 PM |
I'm oddly interested in this. I never actively liked I Love Lucy. But in the boring summer days of the early 90s before streaming, cable (we were poor) and the internet, my 13 year old self was stuck watching it. So my sisters and I watched every episode about 50 thousand times! It grew on me. And I think Blanchett is divine. I wonder what part of her life they'll focus on?
The Deb Messing poster is awesome.
