They are estranged from their sister and younger brother. I think Matt has limited contact with Tracy. Gunnar lives in Franklin, Tennesse and is incredibly right wing which is surprising since the Nelsons were liberal. The twins are married. Gunnar has two stepdaughters. Matt is married and has a son, who is a toddler now I think. The baby's name is Ozzie. They were touring with a Rick Nelson tribute show but I don't know if they're still doing that. That's all I know.

Younger brother Sam was raised by Mark Harmon and wife Pam Dawber I believe because Mark's sister Kris (Sam's mother) had addiction problems.

That's not too surprising R3 conidering the chaos they grew up in with kris Harmon Nelson whom if the stories are true was a monster. For years they all put up a united front against her. Before their divorce kris had driven Rick into financial ruin and for the last decade or so of his life was on the road 50 weeks a year trying to get back on his feet financially. Supposedly the last concert Rick had done was because he had gotten a letter from kris' attorney claiming he owned some back alimony and it came out after his death that he was actually caught up. There are rumors that kris physically attacked Tracy at ricks funeral after learning that Rick had taken her name off a large life insurance policy and put the 4 kids down as the beneficiaries instead.

Gunnar was on celebrity fit club over a decade ago his mother had destroyed his self esteem and was already getting addicted to surgery back then. The twins were verbal punching bags for kris after the divorce. Mark and Pam dropped their petition to become legal guardians of Sam because kris' attorney was going to ask Pam and mark about past drug use. Despite that I heard Sam ended up being with mark and Pam anyways. Mark hasn't spoken to kris in 30 years.

[R8] Kris had untreated bipolar disorder and drug addiction. Yes, some very weird and scary shit went on in their home. Rick was gone a lot and Kris had her interests and activities. I can't really say how much time she spent with the kids. She attacked Tracy at Rick's funeral and she had been horrible to Tracy from the time Tracy was in her early teens. She was horrible to the twins, too. I know she did what she could to destroy them emotionally from a young age. Tracy and Sam are pretty close or were at one time. I'm assuming they still are. The twins are kind of their own thing and not involved with Tracy and Sam. I know they have huge political differences and there are some other issues. I think Tracy and Kris are kind of working on their relationship but I have no idea where they're at right now.

Gunnar was on the bill to perform at the Loud In Lima (Ohio) music festival this weekend but I no longer see his name on the roster.

Sam actually spent most of his time in boarding schools in the mid-to-late 80's. He was good friends with my friend's brother. Spent a fair amount of time with their family instead of his own, which was probably the best thing for him.
