Ann and Nancy Wilson haven't spoken to each other since October

Nancy's 16-year-old twin sons were assaulted by Ann's husband on her tour bus:

"Nancy's then-16-year-old twin sons asked their uncle, Ann's husband Dean Wetter, if they could see Ann's new tour bus. Wetter brought the teenagers and Nancy's stepdaughter to the vehicle, but asked them to keep the door closed so the dogs on the bus couldn't escape. When the twins exited the bus after the visit, the first one out left the door open for the other two behind him, enraging Wetter.

According to a detective's report in court documents obtained by Rolling Stone, "Dean became immediately upset and began calling [one of the teens] names … slap[ping] him on the back of the head, causing pain." The teen asked why he hit him, with Wetter responding by "punching [the teenager] in the back of the head with a closed fist, causing [him] to be stunned and see stars." After Wetter grabbed him by the throat, Nancy's other son intervened. Wetter grabbed the other teen by the throat and, according to a police report, began "squeezing [the other son's throat] to the point that [he] could not breathe. [He] said that he was unable to breathe or talk and that he feared for his life and felt pain in his neck." Police arrested the then-66-year-old Wetter, charging him with two counts of assault, one felony and one misdemeanor."

Those 16 year old twins had better be HAWT or the family drama will not have been worth it.

by Anonymousreply 1May 29, 2017 2:18 AM

Team Ann.

Her man may be a kook but Nancy is a Scientologist (i.e., insane) and she always seemed like a bitch. Ann is the real talent in Heart.

by Anonymousreply 2May 29, 2017 2:21 AM

Ann is a truly great singer; possibly the best vocalist of the rock genre. Nancy's a good guitarist.

by Anonymousreply 3May 29, 2017 2:29 AM

Since when is Nancy Wilson a $cientologist?

by Anonymousreply 4May 29, 2017 2:31 AM

I'm so old, this is whom I immediately thought of

Team Nancy

Your husband doesn't go around assaulting your nephews because they let your dogs out of a bus. The greatest irony is that although Ann always talked about empowerment, in the end, she takes the same line every other woman does. And of course, only SHE understands him. I guarantee this won't end well for her. If you read Charlie Cross' bio, Ann has a very troubled history with men. I'm not surprised she took the stance she did.

by Anonymousreply 6May 29, 2017 2:33 AM

Ann is currently on tour. Without Nancy and the Heart brand, Ann can belt the songs that she wants to perform. In addition to a few Heart songs, she sings Elvis, The Who, Peter Gabriel, The Black Crowes, Jimi Hendrix, Yes, Animals, Buffalo Springfield, Ray Charles and Aretha. I'd LOVE to see that show, much more than a Heart concert with Nancy's high kicks.

by Anonymousreply 7May 29, 2017 2:33 AM

Chris Cornell said that Ann was his favorite singer.

by Anonymousreply 8May 29, 2017 2:36 AM

No one is questioning Ann's talent but the RS article reads like she's a high school girl ready to run away from home with an ex-con.

by Anonymousreply 9May 29, 2017 2:38 AM

As anyone who read the article at the link knows, teen boys--especially the offspring of rich and powerful people--are nightmares. They probably ganged up on Nancy's man and took some swings. Uniterested in their status as Hollywood snowflakes, the uncle defended himself. Unfortunately, even though some teens work out and are built like The Hulk, they are still minors. So the adult went to jail while the boys hid behind mama.

Ann has the self-esteem of a fat girl.

by Anonymousreply 11May 29, 2017 2:39 AM

Ha ha Nancy is scrounging for work while Ann heads out on a sold out tour. Maybe those sons can get a job to help mama pay the mortgage.

Nancy better learn how to grovel if she wants to see those big crowds of ticket buyers again.

by Anonymousreply 12May 29, 2017 2:42 AM

How does Cameron Crowe fit into all this?

by Anonymousreply 13May 29, 2017 2:43 AM

Ann is like those fat chicks who marry guys in prison. I think her low self-esteem as a young fat girl is clearly in play here.

by Anonymousreply 14May 29, 2017 2:43 AM

Like mentioned upthread, Heart is basically Ann's powerful voice and whoever is backing her up. Nancy's contribution to the band is rhythm guitar which is barely heard in the mix except for songs where she pulls out an acoustic. Her big singles weren't penned by her or Ann. Neither of them are big fans of doing material from the glammy Capitol years, but they know that's part of what the fans want.

by Anonymousreply 15May 29, 2017 2:52 AM

As mother to Cameron Crowe's twin sons, Nancy will always have decent cash coming in.

by Anonymousreply 16May 29, 2017 2:59 AM

r13 he's Nancy's ex and the father of the twin boys.

Crowe is a known Sciento and Nancy may have dabbled in it when married to him but I believe she left the cult when they split. In fact if I recall one reason mentioned for their split (after being married for like 20 years) was because she didn't want their sons raised as clams.

Ann is still a brilliant vocalist. She belted out Black Hole Sun on Kimmel the day Chris Cornell's death was announced. Wonderful.

by Anonymousreply 17May 29, 2017 3:04 AM

Ann may have the vocal talent... but it was Nancy's song that gave them their first #1!!!!
How does Cameron Crowe fit into all this?

by Anonymousreply 19May 29, 2017 3:11 AM

And it was probably also Nancy's looks that enabled them to have their resurgence in the 80's.

Yes, Ann's vocals kept them on radio play but it was Nancy's looks/image that pushed their label to back them initially.

by Anonymousreply 20May 29, 2017 3:12 AM

It was Martin Page and Bernie Taupin's song R18. But yes, their first #1 and their first non-Ann vocal big single. Fun fact: Stevie Nicks was presented with the song first for her Rock a Little album but she rejected it.

by Anonymousreply 21May 29, 2017 3:13 AM

Cameron Crowe is not a Scientologist, nor is he known for ever having been a Scientologist.

by Anonymousreply 22May 29, 2017 3:13 AM

Yes, R21 but don't think for a second that it hasn't pissed Ann off for decades that Nancy's vocals hit #1 before one of hers did!

by Anonymousreply 23May 29, 2017 3:14 AM

Ann's a great singer but completely fucked up. The marriage caused a riff in the family and Ann said they "demonized" him. Already, this sounds like a case for Dr. Phil. The husband is a former social worker according to Google.

by Anonymousreply 24May 29, 2017 3:16 AM
Ann is like those fat chicks who marry guys in prison. I think her low self-esteem as a young fat girl is clearly in play here.

DING! DING! DING! We have a winner.

by Anonymousreply 25May 29, 2017 3:17 AM

Ann - Jessica Lange

Nancy - Susan Sarandon

Grace Slick - Kathy Bates

by Anonymousreply 26May 29, 2017 3:17 AM

It's too bad because Nancy has always seemed to have Ann's back... apparently it doesn't go the other way around. And yes, Ann obviously has issues because she's fat and therefore insecure that she can get another man.

And if her man has so much rage that he's stupid enough to put his hands on a teenager, especially over something like not closing a door... imagine how often he's beating Ann. And you know he is.

by Anonymousreply 27May 29, 2017 3:21 AM

I can't imagine Stevie's vocals on "These Dreams".

by Anonymousreply 28May 29, 2017 3:23 AM

You can call her fat if it makes you feel better about yourself but the fact remains that Ann has always been the draw and Nancy is merely the sister of the star.

No one would ask for refunds if Ann ever decided to sing These Dreams. Lots of shit songs hit #1.

by Anonymousreply 29May 29, 2017 3:26 AM
You can call her fat if it makes you feel better about yourself but the fact remains that Ann has always been the draw and Nancy is merely the sister of the star.

Sure, and that's why they hid her in all of their videos.
Lots of shit songs hit #1.

Yes, and Nancy's hit #1 before any of Ann's ever did... and Ann has never forgotten it.

by Anonymousreply 30May 29, 2017 3:27 AM

Ann IS fat and has been her whole life and this has shaped her experiences. Her entire family hates her husband. As for her tour, it's in 2,000 seat theaters and casinos so she's pretty much the new Vikki Carr. I wonder how she would have reacted if Cameron Crowe did that to her (adopted) kids.

by Anonymousreply 31May 29, 2017 3:32 AM

The success of These Dreams keeps Ann awake at night? Are you sure about that, Nancy?

by Anonymousreply 39May 29, 2017 3:42 AM

What does Ann being fat (or not) have to do with whether her husband beat up Nancy's teenagers?

by Anonymousreply 40May 29, 2017 3:45 AM

I think the boys in R36 post are Ricky Nelson's sons, who had an early 90s hit single, same time as Ann and Nancy were riding the success of their Brigade album.

by Anonymousreply 41May 29, 2017 3:46 AM

lol that is the Nelsons r41. Gunnar and the other one. Not Nancy's sons.

by Anonymousreply 42May 29, 2017 3:55 AM

R40 if you're seriously asking... the correlation is that because Ann has been heavy the majority of her life, she suffers from low self esteem (which she herself has talked about). Because she has low self-esteem she stays with and protects a man that assaulted her teenage nephews.

by Anonymousreply 43May 29, 2017 3:56 AM

I'm pretty sure the person who posted the photo of the Nelsons with the Wilsons knew what they were doing... it was a joke, people.

Since Ann and husband married so recently, those boys are strangers to him. He didn't see them when they were born. He wasn't there when they were growing up. It doesn't seem like it would take much to set him off. However, Ann is their aunt. She did go through all of that with them. She doesn't have natural kids of her own but her nephews are her blood relatives. I'm sure they had to be somewhat close. This is a regret she'll discuss one day after she dumps her husband.

by Anonymousreply 47May 29, 2017 4:07 AM

r38 is a bad person who just transported me to a jr high dance.

by Anonymousreply 48May 29, 2017 4:23 AM

This is a tough position for any woman. I'm sure Ann feels bad about what happened but she's not going to give up a relationship just because her nephews got knocked around, probably deservingly so. I'm sure Nancy is pissed that Ann hasn't publicly denounced her husband or whatever crazy demand nancy wanted from the situation. So we are at a stalemate with Nancy not speaking to Ann and Ann not willing to grovel.

by Anonymousreply 49May 29, 2017 4:54 AM

And don't forget Ann getting beaten on the nightly.

by Anonymousreply 50May 29, 2017 5:05 AM

How do a couple of kids deserve getting their asses kicked because they left a door open? That is something that everyone agrees happened, even psycho husband. Interesting how victim shaming happens even when the facts are admitted. As for crazy demand, Nancy has stated that she wanted Ann husband to apologize which he never has. However, the most telling thing is that Nancy called the cops. That's the story. He's obviously beating Ann, Nancy and family know it and she wanted to make this an example. Ann, being a typical beaten woman, sides with the husband. Look it up. Textbook.

r57 where is the butterfly?

by Anonymousreply 59May 30, 2017 1:11 AM
Ann agrees with the sentiment, but adds that Nancy "feels Dean is a monster and is always on the attack." "Dean is a Zen warrior; he's not a fighter," she says. "That was a really unfortunate situation that gave everyone the wrong impression about this guy. If she can look around and see that everything really is OK and that her boys were scared, but not hurt, harmed or even marked, then we'll get back together as a family." (In a statement released after the publication of this story, Nancy said, "As much as my sister would have liked to solve this as a family matter, it is categorically against the law not to report any violence against minors. The parents could face serious charges for not reporting.")

Very sad.

by Anonymousreply 60May 30, 2017 2:09 AM

That's really sad that this went to the court of public opinion. I thought these two were very devoted to each other.

by Anonymousreply 61May 30, 2017 2:11 AM

Why, Ann sounds like a member of a cult in that quote above.

by Anonymousreply 62May 30, 2017 2:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 63May 30, 2017 2:14 AM
I'm sure Ann feels bad about what happened but she's not going to give up a relationship just because her nephews got knocked around, probably deservingly so.

Not sure why a teenager ever "deserves" to be knocked around. Ann's a great singer but the husband sounds like an abusive prick. And WTF is a "zen warrior"? Sounds like something Steven Seagal would call himself.

by Anonymousreply 64May 30, 2017 2:28 AM

I was shocked to learn Ann was married to a man. I had always heard she was in a relationship with song writing partner Sue Ennis.

by Anonymousreply 65May 30, 2017 2:53 AM

r65 I was just about to post that. If it's true, that might explain why she's with the guy. If he's a beard, she'd be terrified of being outted more than concerned about her nephews' welfare.

by Anonymousreply 66May 30, 2017 6:41 AM

That guy is a walking stereotype-he reminds me of Doo, Loretta Lynn's husband.

I have a few of them in my estranged family. They're loudmouthed, homophobic, misogynist and racist and they are constantly angry over some bullshit. At heart, usually they know they're failures and it eats at them. They end up living off women and resenting it. Usually alcoholics.

by Anonymousreply 67May 30, 2017 7:16 AM

Ann's husband looks like a dying Johnny Cash.

by Anonymousreply 68May 30, 2017 8:48 AM

Nancy is blowing this way out of proportion just because her precious innocent children got taught a lesson. Someone has to teach her kids responsibility if not her.

by Anonymousreply 69May 30, 2017 9:34 AM
Crowe is a known Sciento and Nancy may have dabbled in it when married to him but I believe she left the cult when they split. In fact if I recall one reason mentioned for their split (after being married for like 20 years) was because she didn't want their sons raised as clams.

In hers and Ann's memoir, Nancy mentions that she and Cameron feared when he began working with Tom Cruise on Jerry Maguire that Cruise would try to convert them. She says they agreed to tour the big $cieno center in Hollywood with him, apparently out of politeness, but then she doesn't mention $cientology again, makes no reference to dabbling or being involved herself. However, as pointed out above, Crowe did eventually join up, and anyone who knows how the cult demands that members get their spouses to convert OR ELSE can read between the lines of Nancy's description of their breakup. She wouldn't convert, so she got kicked to the curb.
She doesn't have natural kids of her own but her nephews are her blood relatives.

Nancy's sons were conceived via a surrogate using Cameron's raw material. She's not their biological mother.

As for the sisters' feud, I fear they won't speak to each other again until Ann's husband has bled her dry of whatever he can get out of her and she's hit rock bottom. Ann has shitty self-esteem, and it's not just weight-related, I'm sure - she's in her late sixties now, it took her this long to get married and there likely won't be another chance. I wouldn't be surprised if hubby has her hooked on something again (prescription?) too. This whole situation fucking sucks.

by Anonymousreply 70May 30, 2017 9:47 AM

So Nancy couldn't have natural kids?

by Anonymousreply 71May 30, 2017 9:52 AM

No, r71. Neither Ann nor Nancy could - they both tried, but Ann ending up adopting and Nancy went the surrogate route after like a decade of IVF. Infertility runs in the family, according to their memoir. Everyone considered their mom so lucky because she had three kids.

by Anonymousreply 72May 30, 2017 9:55 AM

Lot of abused people on this thread, I see.

No, the teenagers didn't deserve to be punched in the head and strangled for leaving a door open. It doesn't teach them responsibility to get beaten up. Ann is not in the right for defending her husband just because you like her voice.

You're pretty broken if you think otherwise.

by Anonymousreply 73May 30, 2017 10:12 AM

This makes me sad. I saw Heart in concert a few years back. They were great and Ann's voice is just as powerful now as in her prime. I don't want to pick sides because I like them both but I have to agree with the posters pointing out Ann's self-esteem issues and that she could very well be defending her abuser.

by Anonymousreply 74May 30, 2017 10:22 AM

If any partner of mine laid a hand on any of my nephews or nieces, he'd no longer be my partner.

Dogs, kids, spouse, elders. If you're laying hands on the vulnerable around you, you're a piece of shit.

by Anonymousreply 75May 30, 2017 11:05 AM

Sisters? I thought they were lesbonic lovers. Are they both perhaps?

by Anonymousreply 76May 30, 2017 12:21 PM

So are the nephews hot or not?

by Anonymousreply 77May 30, 2017 12:26 PM

Ann should hire a blonde with nice tits to play guitar and get on with her life. No one cares about new Heart songs anymore, they just want to hear Ann sing the hits.

Ann doesn't need Nancy. She should realize this and stop feeling bad about her bratty nephews. She's earned the right to perform the songs she wants to sing and spend her down time with a nutter if that's the kind of companionship she wants. Rock on, Ann!

by Anonymousreply 78May 30, 2017 2:43 PM

From the quote above it not only sounds like Ann is being abused... it sounds like she's back on the drugs.

by Anonymousreply 79May 30, 2017 2:50 PM

Where do you keep getting that Crowe is a Scientologist? Is there an actual reference of him being one anywhere?

by Anonymousreply 80May 30, 2017 2:54 PM

I'm with r77. I'll choose a side based on the hotness of the twins.

by Anonymousreply 81May 30, 2017 2:57 PM

I have a friend of a friend who has been involved with Heart since the 80s. Everyone is concerned about Ann because Dean is a slimeball. Behind the scenes, they derisively call him "Ike", although he's Ike Turner with a terrible difference. He has no talent. He's totally separated her from everyone but Ann has taken on his personality and has become a Grade A cunt. The tour is miserable as everyone hates Ann and Dean. Sue Ennis is no longer on speaking terms with her. Contrary to popular belief, they were never lovers. Sue is a lesbian but Ann is not. But Ann has had terrible luck with men and also has thought that they're all with her for fame and fortune. After the incident with Nancy and her kids, she fired everyone she thought was on Nancy's side and that included bandmates. Remember where she said she went back to try to smooth things out and everyone just sat there? Everyone she saw in that group got fired.

Sadly, Ann essentially admits Dean is an asshole but still says he's misunderstood. When you listen to her reasoning "he's a Zen warrior", it's clear she's not a well woman. Heart is dead. I hope Ann has a good resolution because agreed, she is perhaps the greatest female rock and roll singer ever. But she's a mess. And someone upthread suggested, he will definitely bleed her dry after making her sing concert after concert. He has no other means of support so now he's living a better life than he's known.

by Anonymousreply 82May 30, 2017 3:35 PM

by Anonymousreply 83May 30, 2017 3:44 PM

Nancy has started a "side project" band called Roadcase Royale. 3 of the members Ann fired from Heart are in the group along with one time Prince background singer named Liz Warfield and her guitarist. Bartrok was the only member of Heart not in that group when Ann tried to talk to them after the incident. Ennis has lots of mentions of Nancy on her Twitter page but nothing after the incident on Ann.

In case you wanted to know more about Ann's relationship with her own kids, listen to this: I have a 22-year-old daughter who has two babies," she says. "We have had the most incredibly wildfire debates about the topic of choice. All through her teenage years, I demonstrated what it was to be a single mom, working, coming home, being with the kids, having a family. And she now blames me for not being there enough, for working. She believes that the ultimate right way is the 1950s nuclear family. You know, a dad, a mom, 2.5 kids. It's just amazing to me that she and many of her friends are so, so - not just pro-life - they're anti- choice. Anti-anti-anti-choice."

Nancy's vocals on "There's The Girl" are atrocious!

At least in "These Dreams", Ann's incredible voice was the hook in the choruses. Nancy did not sell that song; Ann did.

But "There's The Girl" was awful fluff.

In Stevie VS Ann, I'm Team Stevie always,

But in Nancy VS Ann, I am Team Ann solidly based on musicality, not crazy husbands.

Poor Ann's flute flopped.

by Anonymousreply 107May 31, 2017 1:59 AM

I would love to ask the poster above who's friend is involved with Heart since the 80's

Ann sounds extremely eccentric, shy, and awkward.. Am I right? her quotes are fucking obnoxious.

And this half dead man who looks like Johnny Cash's rotting corpse-

WHAT THE FUCK. To lose a band and sister over THAT?

And this shit about Nancy wanting to play old hits but Ann not wanting too?

I always got the vibe from interviews that NANCY was the one who didn't want the band to become a jukebox...

I cannot figure these girls out. I will say that I learned that Nancy was far more cerebral and smarter than I thought.

Ann sounds like a kooky beaten wife.

by Anonymousreply 108May 31, 2017 2:03 AM

Ann has always been new agey and shy.

Sue Ennis's brother Tim was hot as hell in the 80s he's still looking good pushing 60. My brother was friends with him back then.
In 1983, Stevie's One-Two Punch of "Stand Back" and "If Anyone Falls" obliterated the failed Heart Singles, "How Can I Refuse?" and "Allies."

Actually, it was Pat Benatar, not Stevie Nicks, who ruled the early 80s.

From 1979 to 1984, Pat KICKED Ann's legendary fat ass with hit after hit, like "Heartbreaker", "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", "Promises In The Dark", "Shadows Of The Night", "Love Is A Battlefield" and "We Belong."

In that time frame, Ann only had a hit with COVERS of "Unchained Melody" and "Tell It Like It Is" plus blips on the radio landscape with the flops "How Can I Refuse", "Allies", and "This Man Is Mine."

Pat rightfully and easily STOLE AWAY Ann's career before Capitol forced Heart to undergo a MASSIVE change in sound and style (with songs written by others, of course).

by Anonymousreply 112May 31, 2017 5:37 AM

For the love of God, R112! Get off the internet and come to bed!

by Anonymousreply 113May 31, 2017 6:29 AM

FFS, will the posters who keep going on about Stevie Nicks and Pat Benatar fuck off? The thread is NOT about them.

R82, something that jumped out at me from the Rolling Stone link was the bit about how Ann and Dean felt like 'pariahs' on the West Coast (meaning, where Nancy and most of Ann's friends and family are) so they moved to Florida. I immediately thought, 'He's isolating her' (classic abuser behavior), so it's awfully sad to have that confirmed. Sue Ennis's turning on her is shocking if you're familiar with their friendship, which stretches all the way back to high school and survived Ann's numerous substance abuse issues in years past. I hope Ann is able to surface from this before she loses whatever assets she has and her relationships become irreparable.

by Anonymousreply 114May 31, 2017 6:56 AM

Is this really about those kids getting, rightfully, slapped around?

by Anonymousreply 115May 31, 2017 7:04 AM

Wouldn't Ann be better off single rather than sharing a bed with the ghoulish figure in R37's post?

How exactly is Ann benefiting from this relationship?

by Anonymousreply 116May 31, 2017 7:14 AM

I think it's about both the treatment of the boys AND the larger problem, which is Ann bringing this abusive dirtbag into both their family and professional lives.

by Anonymousreply 117May 31, 2017 7:15 AM

Actually Heart is about 2 people. Ann and her voice and Nancy and her guitar it was like that when they first started playing music together as kids. You do realize Ann has had gastric bypass surgery....many of you are very superficial about "fat" but she lost enough to fit your standards of beauty, however I do agree she has fat girl thinking because Ann is beautiful. ANN'S HUSBAND LOOKS LIKE A PSYCHO and he and Ann had been on a date (in he 80's) and at the end of the date she made the moves on him....and he wasn't interested. I often wonder if he wasn't interested in her because of her weight (she was often "hidden" behind objects to hide her weight). Ann's husband is old and he beat those boys and choked those boys as if they were men. I get it he's at the age where (in his head) 16 means your a man and its the time he comes from.....but teens NOW are different from teens from his era. Ann seems like she's making a lot of excuses for him.

by Anonymousreply 118May 31, 2017 8:42 AM

The kids weren't just slapped around. He choked one brother and when the other stepped him Ann's husband grabbed him by his throat too and raised him up off the ground. That's not being slapped around that's shit that makes you get sent to prison...or at least should.

by Anonymousreply 119May 31, 2017 8:45 AM

Ah R77 and R81 you're lust of underage boys makes you a credit to your community.....

by Anonymousreply 120May 31, 2017 8:56 AM

Ann's husband is so clearly an abuser and parasite. Pure trailer park scum. He looks like an alcoholic pedo convict. He's syphoning all her money guaranteed.

Damn Ann, if you're going to marry a gold digger, at least find one that's young and hot.

by Anonymousreply 121May 31, 2017 9:22 AM

The daughter would be 25 or so now, R95, but when you look back at articles that mention her, Ann is frequently mentioning Marie being in some kind of teen crisis. There's an article from 10 years ago where she says her son Dustin is happy to hang around her, but that Marie complains about having to go on the road with Ann, how she tells Ann and Nancy that "if you've seen one Heart show you've seen them all."

I kind of get the impression that Marie is a bit of a pain in the ass. It doesn't surprise me that she's yet another Millennial who has regressed back to old-fashioned barefoot-in-the-kitchen stereotypes, that's kind of how kids rebel nowadays. Sort of an Alex P. Keaton kind of thing.

by Anonymousreply 122May 31, 2017 9:58 AM

Ann's husband apparently pleaded guilty a few weeks ago. I'm not seeing this mentioned upthread, did I just miss it?
Wetter pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault over an August 2016 incident at a Heart concert just outside of Seattle. As part of a plea bargain, Wetter officially received a suspended sentence of 364 days in jail, meaning he won’t have to serve any actual time behind bars.
In addition, Wetter agreed to pay restitution, go to counseling, and avoid contact with Nancy’s children. He’ll also be on probation for two years.
The assault occurred when Nancy’s sons were leaving a tour bus and one boy left the door ajar. Wetter hit the teen in the head and proceeded to choke him. When the other twin attempted to intervene, Wetter choked him, too. Wetter reportedly squeezed each child’s neck until they could no longer breathe.

Thank you for posting that, r123.

R122, I always assumed Ann and Marie had a rough relationship. Marie seems to have left home as soon as she could and had a baby while still in her teens. Ann has mentioned that when she took Marie on the road as a child, she was clingy and resented the fans' demands on her mother's attention.

by Anonymousreply 124May 31, 2017 11:49 AM

"Straight On", "Crazy On You", "Magic Man", "Kick It Out", "Barracuda"... Ann's VOICE is what people loved and responded to, not "Nancy's guitar".

"Nancy's guitar" - hilarious!

And, yes, Pat killed Ann's career with an equally epic voice but fresher songs more suited for the Early Eighties.

And Stevie's BELLA DONNA album knocked Pat's PRECIOUS TIME off of the Number One slot in 1981.

R108, you're right about Ann's interviews. But her solo show has barely any new songs and primarily consists of reworkings of Heart songs and covers of songs from the 60s and early 70s. Nancy's new group does some Heart as well, but they also have some new songs and the group is close to finishing up an EP of mostly new songs with one cover thrown in. Ann seems to be in a bad place right now.

Right. Which is why Pat's career ended in the early 80's and Ann's (with Heart) continued on until the early 90's.

R108, Ann has Aspergers. I've heard this since the '90s. Now I don't know if she's been clinically diagnosed or if it's just talk by people who know her but she certainly fits the type. I'm trying to remember if it was in the book but the FOAF said that it was certainly discussed with the author, Charles Cross. The poster above called her shy and new agey. I have to say that Nancy and Sue Ennis among others really helped her stay grounded. No more.

BTW, the only way that resolution could have occurred was if Nancy agreed. She got her court order to keep Dean away from her kids and that is what will kill the Heart beat. Nancy's kids go on tour with her (as did Ann's) and Ann won't go on tour without Dean.

by Anonymousreply 136May 31, 2017 4:07 PM

It might be foreign to you, R139... but some kids actually like their mothers!

by Anonymousreply 140May 31, 2017 7:44 PM

Does anyone really think Ann needed Nancy when the first started out? I'll give Nancy credit for learning guitar but Ann could've just hired a guitar player. Point is Heart was nothing without Ann's voice.

by Anonymousreply 141May 31, 2017 7:57 PM

I love how some of you try to downplay Nancy's guitar skills. She's considered one of the best female guitarists of all time and considered a legend regardless of sex.

And of course Ann needed Nancy, give me a break. Yes, Ann has talent and one of the best voices in Rock, period.. but that doesn't mean it would have been enough for her to make it. 1) Ann obviously needed Nancy to function. You can see how co-dependent she was on Nancy just by watching any of the numerous interviews they've done together. She most likely would never have made it as far as she did without Nancy there as her security blanket. 2) She definitely needed Nancy's looks. She never would have had a career in the 80's unless Nancy was there to have been the front person in all the videos. The label would have dropped Ann without Nancy.

by Anonymousreply 142May 31, 2017 8:04 PM

There was a reason that Ann begged Nancy to join the group. There's a reason Ann begged Nancy for years to join the group. There's a reason the group didn't take off until Nancy joined.

So yeah Ann needed Nancy.

Neither of them would have made it without the other.

by Anonymousreply 143May 31, 2017 8:07 PM

Team Ann.

by Anonymousreply 144May 31, 2017 8:09 PM

Of course, you HAVE to have the word "Female" in the "Best Female Guitarists" list or else Nancy wouldn't even be in the Top 200 if it was just "Best Guitarists."

Ann has always seemed friendly with fellow female rockers like Stevie, Pat, and Grace Slick, while Nancy has remained cold and Scieno-ish towards other women.

by Anonymousreply 145May 31, 2017 11:04 PM

Wrong, R145 and it was already stated that she is still considered a legend among guitarists of either sex. And again, anyone can clearly see Nancy is the friendlier of two. Just watch their interviews.

But again you keep pushing this supposed Scientology angle despite people asking for references above and of course... nobody has any.

From the article above:

I know Heart is on hiatus for the time being. Anything you can say about the future of the band?

Right now, there’s an offer for a headlining 2018 summer tour. I’d be very happy to do that. Right now, I’m not sure what’s in Ann’s head about any of that right now. I’m just hoping for the best because Heart’s a great band and I like being in it. Ann’s sort of getting her other creative itch scratched right now, doing all different kinds of things other than the Heart type thing. I guess time will tell. I just have my fingers crossed for the summer of 2018.

by Anonymousreply 148June 1, 2017 2:37 AM

Nancy seems like a really cool lady, but surprisingly sensible and smart about the business end.

by Anonymousreply 149June 1, 2017 2:45 AM

by Anonymousreply 150June 1, 2017 2:50 AM

R149 I was watching some of the interviews posted above and their vibes are so different. Nancy really seems to have a joy and appreciation for their career in music. Ann seems to have a bitterness about it which comes out in how and what she talks about. I don't blame her though it seems like the label and her band mates were shitty towards her.

by Anonymousreply 151June 1, 2017 2:56 AM

R151, I also think it has to do with her relationship with Crowe and watching what he did and experienced as a top writer and director in Hollywood. I also think that's why as an artist and businesswoman, she can look back with a certain degree of separation.

by Anonymousreply 164June 2, 2017 12:49 PM

An interesting interview from a few years back. A few things stuck out. Nancy: One of the most cherished moments happened recently, when my two boys, twin 12-year-olds, were out on the road with us. They were sitting at the side of the stage, taking pictures and cheering for their mom. It was the coolest thing in the world. They are 12, so it will be short lived, but having the kids be proud of me for the work I have done is one thing I will always cherish. I am the CEO of a corporation called Heart, but that is the job description. There are a lot of things that go into keeping this band going. The kids have had to sacrifice a lot for me, and to have them sacrifice and still cheer for me is beyond words.

Ann: No, Nancy is the boss. If you came down to the studio and saw what was going on, then there would be no question in your mind as to who is the musical director.

Throughout the separate interviews, Nancy is the one who comes off as the mature and sensible one and Ann does indeed sound very needy and depends on Nancy. I don't think it's surprising that she was swooped off by some would-be Svengali.

by Anonymousreply 166June 2, 2017 3:25 PM

R165, I have read an interview with Nancy in which she said that she has always felt as if she were Ann's big sister, or her mother. If you've read their memoir, I think that comes through pretty clear. Nancy mentions how badly it hurt HER when Ann got bullied for her weight or her stuttering, etc. when they were kids. She's been protective of Ann all her life. That's another reason why this whole situation with the husband has got to be eating her up. Pretty much the worst-case scenario that could happen in Ann's personal life has occurred.

by Anonymousreply 167June 3, 2017 10:07 AM

Why won't these two broads retire? They must have more money than God. The constant touring year after year has grown tiresome. Why can't they just enjoy their legacy and fade away?

by Anonymousreply 168June 3, 2017 4:44 PM

Why do you care, R168? Are you incapable of ignoring them?

by Anonymousreply 169June 3, 2017 6:51 PM

I've always had an opinion of people who tat themselves up in their later years... Ann meets all those opinions.

by Anonymousreply 170June 3, 2017 7:02 PM
They must have more money than God.

They don't. Touring is their main source of income, as it is for many musicians from their era.

by Anonymousreply 171June 4, 2017 5:48 AM
Touring is their main source of income,

Correction, Touring is ANN'S Main source of income.

by Anonymousreply 172June 4, 2017 5:51 AM

I can't imagine Ann would have financial problems. She's never lived a lavish lifestyle, and doesn't seem to spend much money at all. She surely must have a nice nest egg.

by Anonymousreply 173June 4, 2017 5:59 AM
Correction, Touring is ANN'S Main source of income.

From the OP's linked article: The business of Heart, and its lucrative future touring plans, has effectively ceased since last year. [bold]"I've had no livelihood for a really long time now," admits Nancy[/bold], who formed new band Roadcase Royale with Prince protégés Liv Warfield and Ryan Waters and current Heart members Chris Joyner, Dan Rothchild and Ben Smith.

And r173, Ann blew untold amounts of money on coke for years and years. Both she and Nancy have made some bad investments. They have been pretty upfront about the fact that they make most of their money from touring now and that they aren't massively wealthy aside from it. Artists didn't get paid what they do now back in the '70s, and they didn't write any of their big hits from the 1980s, so there's no publishing there for them.

by Anonymousreply 174June 4, 2017 6:17 AM

I always wondered why Ann and Nancy formed the Lovemongers and didn't release it as a Heart album.

by Anonymousreply 175June 4, 2017 6:56 AM

The Lovemongers had different personnel, and a different dynamic. Nancy bailed on Heart for most of the nineties, because she was sick of touring, sick of the way they'd compromised their music and she wanted to focus on getting pregnant, which she'd been trying to do for a while with no success. She and Ann's relationship was somewhat distant during this time, as Nancy wanted space, and Ann wasn't happy about the hiatus. The opportunity came along to play some benefit concert, and Ann liked the idea of forming an acoustic side group as an antidote to the overproduced music they'd spent the last decade making. She also wanted to include their friend Sue Ennis in the band. She knew Nancy would be into the acoustic thing, since acoustic guitar is her true wheelhouse, and it was also a way to sort of maintain and patch up her relationship with Nancy during this strained time. Nancy was all in favor of playing acoustic stuff with the Lovemongers occasionally but she wanted nothing to do with Heart during that period. Eventually, Ann was able to persuade her around to Heart again, though as she says in their book, Nancy and Cameron's need for money also had something to do with it.

by Anonymousreply 176June 4, 2017 8:11 AM

Thank you R174, You put it very well.

That is why Stevie Nicks still tours like a madwoman. She makes millions. She has been very clear that no one buys albums anymore and there is no money in it. And even Stevie makes millions from her songwriting- It is why all of these bands tour, period. Even new artists like Father John Misty who have a solid cult following are going to make their income from touring. He is on his largest tour ever right now.

Most of Hearts massive hits were from 85-87- And did they write even one of those songs? These Dreams, Alone, etc..... Diane Fucking Warren is probably making more money off of Heart than Heart is!

I really enjoyed Heart's autobiography- I came away liking Nancy immensely. She came across as thoughtful, intelligent, quiet, and kind. I loved that she admired Joni Mitchell. Ann come across as awkward and a little cold- very guarded of people and far more sheltered than I expected. But no one can deny that voice and talent!

by Anonymousreply 177June 4, 2017 12:42 PM

R177, one of my favorite moments in the book was where she said she and someone else stalked Joni Mitchell's house and eventually had dinner with her. Nancy said Joni LOVES talking about herself. BTW, I don't know if she's a paid consultant but her husband is heavily involved with "Empire".

In a recent interview, Ann said that her husband Dean is from Seattle but persuaded her to move to Florida because it was big, open and sunny and Seattle is cold, rainy and moldy. They could have just as easily moved to LA but then he wouldn't have been able to control her as easily.

by Anonymousreply 178June 4, 2017 3:46 PM

I wonder what the husband's financial situation is. Something tells me he's living off of Ann.

by Anonymousreply 179June 4, 2017 4:02 PM

One thing in all of this no one wants to say. For all the people ranting about how Ann's voice is just as powerful as it ever was, have you listened to her lately? Starting in about 2010 there has been increasing raspiness and loss of range. I'm a borderline obsessed fan from way back when and think she can still at 66 sing circles around the current class of poptarts. But the days of those crystal clear wails 2 octaves above the usual voice are over. Her delivery is amazing. Her voice is declining. Ann Wilson is easily the best voice for rock ever (along with the likes of Stevie, Janis, Benatar, and if we wanna lean bluesy - Etta James). Ann's husband is creepy as evidenced by hitting Nancy's kids. Nancy wants to ride the legacy band train into eternity/obscurity as evidenced by the past 5 tours where the same 15 songs get trotted out by musical director Nancy and sung (with increasing difficulty) by Ann, and most recent album - a Nancy produced collection of 80s do-overs rather than trying anything new. I LOVE the Wilson sisters and Heart was the soundtrack to this middle age gay guy's drama laden 20s, but girls, it may be time to hang it up! Let us remember you as R & R Hall of Famers instead of a 60 something year old female version of Oasis pitting Wilson against Wilson

by Anonymousreply 180June 4, 2017 4:59 PM

R180. My god I have totally noticed Ann's loss of range. That is why I have no desire to see them live. I also find Stevie Nicks PAINFUL to listen too live now. And the songs that poor Ann and Heart are known for, are incredibly hard songs to sing for anyone, of any age!

It is funny, I actually thought it was Nancy who did not want to trot out the old hits, based on interviews, but I guess I am wrong on all of this..

This Ann's husband situation has really soured me on Ann. And let us remember, the guy did not only HIT these kids, HE CHOKED ONE OF THEM!!!

And my god, he looks like the crypt keeper, and I think its the case of "getting the face you deserve"

by Anonymousreply 181June 4, 2017 5:11 PM

As much as I love Heart and Stevie Nicks, in recent years I really understand Grace Slick's famous quote "old people don't belong on a rock and roll stage." Grace saw the writing on the wall when she was pushing 50 and decided to retire, because she was starting to feel pathetic singing about sex and drugs and rock and roll at her age, and she knew her voice was declining. She didn't want to be a sad nostalgia act, and she made the right decision.

by Anonymousreply 182June 4, 2017 5:17 PM

I doubt Nancy no longer has her Say Anything, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous money.

And to the person upthread mentioning Nancy "trotting out," the same 15 songs as a cash grab. I don't think so. Nancy is the practical one and there is a reason she's the one in charge of the band... she knows what she's doing. There is no other choice BUT to trot out those same songs because those are the songs fans are paying to see. She knows if they don't do them, the fans won't show up.

And let's not pretend Ann doesn't have a say. If Ann doesn't want to sing a song, she doesn't - - - which is why they no longer perform, "All I Wanna Do..."

by Anonymousreply 183June 4, 2017 5:27 PM

From above, one of Nancy's many intelligent and surprisingly honest comments: We had the foolish idea that artistic integrity was important (laughs). I’m glad for that, but it’s never practical, it never pans out financially to do it that way. It’s more lucrative to continue to be a jukebox and continue to tour. We, as artists, as songwriters, have always had the ethic, partly because we are from Seattle — the Seattle music league, as we call it. It’s important to exercise your artistic muscles, and not to feel like you’re just regurgitating on a summer jukebox, cash-cow sort of way. It’s important to us to feel that we have something new going on artistically.

R183, Ann is doing All I Wanna Do on her own show. However, you'll note that Nancy's new band is doing all new material so there's a little bit of this, a little bit of that. Nancy has a production company herself and does consultant work and her divorce settlement is half of whatever Crowe made during their marriage, which is considerable.

by Anonymousreply 184June 4, 2017 5:30 PM

Stevie Nicks is worth over $65 million - she tours because she loves to. She doesn't see the point in recording with Fleetwood Mac anymore so she doesn't.

Stevie wrote almost all of her songs and still makes millions per year on "Landslide", "Rhiannon", "Edge Of Seventeen", "Gypsy" and many more. Budweiser paid Stevie $5 million for the use of "Landslide" in their 2013 Super Bowl ad.

Stevie loves her lavish lifestyle, no apologies about it. And even then, she is set for life.

Ann and Nancy didn't write most of their hits and thus they are not as rich as the spend-thrift Stevie.

by Anonymousreply 185June 4, 2017 5:33 PM

r182 ABSOLUTELY!!!! I've seen Heart more times than I can count over the past 30 years, and Stevie solo and with 3 different incarnations of Fleetwood Mac. They were the Queens of FM Rock in the 80s and early 90s. But their time has passed. Stevie has segued from raspy to razor blades with about a 5 note range. The last Mac tour I saw she got applause for spinning in circles and bleating like a goat. Never again. I'm seeing Ann Wilson solo next Saturday because I think it may be the last time for me to visit that page of my past as well. These woman were the voices of my youth and continuing to go to the concerts just remind me how old I'm getting too! Sucks when yo cant get high at a concert anymore for fear of blowing up the oxygen tank of the guy next to you. They were stunning talents but I'd rather remember them that way.....and her Cryptkeeper husband freaks me the fuck out!!

And for anyone yelling misogyny I don't wanna see 275 year old mick Jagger croak out "Satisfaction" again either. We're all aging. Let's try it with a bit of grace

by Anonymousreply 186June 4, 2017 5:35 PM

I think you seldom hear ANY Heart songs on the radio anymore. I think you're more likely to hear Barracuda, Crazy on You or Magic Man than Nothing At all. Those songwriting revenues can't be that impressive and add to that Ann is now touring 2000 seat concert halls and NOT selling them out tells you it might be time to grow up and get a real job.

by Anonymousreply 187June 4, 2017 5:38 PM

The thing that breaks my heart about Stevie and her shows is that the audience only influences Stevie's egotistical side. She barely bleats out those songs with her 3 note range, then does a random spin (she is so old that she cannot dance to her hips and when she spins its like someone MOCKING Stevie Nicks, but it is actually Stevie Nicks.) Stevie has a MASSIVE ego. I love some of the shit she says and her honesty But holy fuck she is a pampered ego of the highest order.

With Heart, there isn't any of that Stevie Nicks level of mysticism. SO they at least get to act their age. Its no bullshit rock. Ann's voice is MUCH better than Stevie's . The acoustical stuff really vibed with their ages and I thought was well done.

Heart's comeback and career closer should have been that brilliant Zeppelin tribute. What a way to go!

But they need to make a living too!

by Anonymousreply 188June 4, 2017 6:01 PM

At this point, Ann is making a living for her husband. She's doing, what, 60 shows in six months? She'll have no voice in no time, no more concert money and there goes hubby.

by Anonymousreply 189June 4, 2017 6:11 PM

R184, Exactly my point re: Nancy and her money situation. She has enough money with her Cameron Crowe money.

Interesting about Ann doing All I Wanna Do solo as she has bitched about having to sing that song for 20 years and refused to do it after like the first decade. I'd bet her Minder aka Her Husband has forced her to.

by Anonymousreply 190June 4, 2017 6:18 PM

Ann always sang better but coked up Stevie was always entertaining. Remember when she fell off stage spinning in circles? During her Klonipin daze she toured for "Other Side of the Mirror" with a broken foot and changed costumes 15 times for 16 songs. She pivoted on the cast while spinning. Speaking in tongues during both "Sisters of the Moon" and "Edge of 17." And r188 you're right people squalled for more. She's 70 and still pulling 'em in because it feeds her narcissism and for some reason we still pay to see her do it. I adore the woman but she has become a parody of herself. Ann is at least singing material that she feels is socially relevant and speaks to her but l tend to agree with Grace Slick who hung it up when she was about 5 years younger than me cuz old people don't belong on a rock and roll stage

by Anonymousreply 191June 4, 2017 6:26 PM

In addition to Grace Slick, I also now appreciate why ABBA decided to leave the party relatively early.

by Anonymousreply 192June 4, 2017 6:34 PM

I would bet my house that Ann's husband has no money of his own and he's living off of her money.

by Anonymousreply 193June 4, 2017 6:45 PM

If I had to guess, Ann and Nancy would love a big Heart tour for the money, while Stevie Nicks tours not for money she doesn't need, but to please her fans, pay her friends who are her touring team, and lastly because she still enjoys it and doesn't have a lot else to do.

Stevie probably will tour with Fleetwood Mac again, and maybe even record again with them, but it would not be for selfish reasons. It would be out of a sense of history and legacy and maybe even because she knows she's the wealthiest of them all by far.

by Anonymousreply 194June 4, 2017 7:10 PM

One of the best weirdette Stevie stories happened in the '80s. Stevie was taking gifts from her fans when she realized her antique ring was missing. She got on the mic and begged whoever took it to return it to her because it had such sentimental value. One of the stagehands came on, looked on the ground and at her feet was the ring. Ooops.

I've tried to find info on what Ann's husband does for a living and Google has "Social Worker" but nothing anywhere else. His occupation is Ann Wilson's Manager. She said they don't even stay in hotels when she tours and instead they go to campgrounds and sleep under the stars.

by Anonymousreply 195June 4, 2017 7:19 PM

R195,Mr. Ann Wilson is a ZEN MASTER, a BUDDAH, a SAGE!!!

What a crock of SHIT. Ann sounds like a fucking full blown loony tune in those interviews about the choking of her nephews.

by Anonymousreply 196June 4, 2017 7:42 PM

"These Dreams" is still on heavy rotation in the adult contemporary world, and you'll hear it at least once if you stop at enough gas stations, 711s, grocery stores.

by Anonymousreply 197June 5, 2017 2:07 AM

They should do what other acts do and tour with other groups. Yes, you might not make as much money, but you negotiate up front, so if it's not enough you don't go out. Quite a number of 70s groups are doing it now, and it seems to be easier on everyone.

by Anonymousreply 198June 5, 2017 3:34 AM
She said they don't even stay in hotels when she tours and instead they go to campgrounds and sleep under the stars.

That's no way to take care of her voice.

by Anonymousreply 199June 5, 2017 4:03 AM

R198, they did that a few years back with Cheap Trick and Joan Jett. There's no more Heart. I don't think Ann's "manager" will let her go on that kind of tour as he probably thinks he can make more money with her as a solo act, doing 150 concerts a year.

by Anonymousreply 200June 5, 2017 4:10 AM

After hearing her YT 2017 tour, Ann doesn't have much longer on the tour circuit in any form. Listening to her strain for those high notes is sad but hearing how sharp those notes are is uncomfortable at best. Even on the slower numbers, the discipline is gone and the melody is all over the place. Indeed, she's raspy and hoarse and her execution gets worse as the concert progresses. What surprised me most was even after all those years as the frontwoman, she has lost that charisma she once had, even as a fat girl. She looks lost and her show has no sense of order or concept. It's like a jam session for a singer auditioning for a lounge band.

by Anonymousreply 201June 5, 2017 5:00 AM

Not to defend what this dude did to the two boys, but this story--typically for modern journalism--is very sloppily reported. Why did they want to see the inside of this bus in the first place? A bus is a bus. It's nothing to see.

Further, giving dogs a chance to get out can be a serious matter. Sometimes they run off and can't be found again. Some dogs love the security of their "place." They think of their domicile as a wonderful crate. But some dogs have a wanderlust; they don't understand the risk of going off into the unknown. Maybe this guy is a terrible master and they're avid to escape from him.

And did they? When the door was left open, did they make a break for it? If this uncle is so awful, wouldn't the twins give him a wide berth? There's something about "Uncle, can we see the bus?" that doesn't make sense, and it's the very root of the story.

by Anonymousreply 202June 5, 2017 5:17 AM

R202 you sound ridiculous.

He choked out two teen boys. Neither side disputes any of the events that led up to or that occurred after.

by Anonymousreply 203June 5, 2017 5:21 AM

Nancy recently stated that they (Heart) have been offered a Headlining gig this summer. She hopes to do it, but she doesn't know where Ann's head is regarding the group. She says she's just hoping for the best.

by Anonymousreply 204June 5, 2017 5:22 AM

Is Roger Fisher dead?

by Anonymousreply 205June 5, 2017 5:38 AM

Fuck yourself, moron at R203.

by Anonymousreply 206June 5, 2017 8:19 AM

After Stevie left Fleetwood Mac in 1990, the band limped along, finally touring with other nostalgia groups like REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar in 1994-1995.

Her return to the Rumours-era lineup of the band has kept the band selling out arenas since 1997.

Stevie's solo tour in 2016-2017 also has Stevie SOLO selling out those same Fleetwood Mac-sized arenas. And she is continuing the solo tour through the Fall!

After that, it's back with Fleetwood Mac for more arena touring through 2018.

Plus, with her millions in songwriting royalties rolling in every year, Stevie has stomped Nancy and Ann into the ground with her platform boots.

Maybe Nancy can play guitar and "kick" for Billy Idol or Cheap Trick (her friends!).

R206 = Ann's Husband

by Anonymousreply 208June 5, 2017 2:19 PM

r206 Too bad Stevie couldn't be bothered to join Fleetwood Mac in the studio. The new album of material they've been promising since 2014 is finally being released this Friday as a Lindsey and Christine effort instead of a Fleetwood Mac album.

by Anonymousreply 209June 5, 2017 3:53 PM

R207, but listen to her voice!!!!

Are people deaf?

by Anonymousreply 210June 5, 2017 3:58 PM

R202, you're an idiot. Read the fucking article. It said that the twins wanted to see Ann's NEW touring van. They come from a rock and roll background and you know her leech/husband had it tricked out. Typical 16 yo interest in cars. They asked to see it, they didn't just barge into it. Sounds like good manners to me. Second, the first twin who was the first out thought his stepsister and brother were right behind him and that's why he didn't close the door behind him. Again, sounds totally logical. Most importantly, if the dogs were a threat to get out, they should have had them confined in crates. People are going in and out of vans all the time, so if their animals are so poorly trained, they have to find a way to keep them safe. Ann has had dogs her whole life and if she didn't know this, she shouldn't bring them with her.

It's doesn't matter because Ann's voice is in the last gasp. It really is pretty shocking to hear her. Not shocking like Whitney Hojuston or Mariah, but she's a real shell of her former self. He'll hit the road once his meal ticket has been used up and Ann will be left picking up the pieces.

by Anonymousreply 211June 5, 2017 4:05 PM

Stevie was not interested in their new songs, R209, so she wisely steered clear, even after MF and LB tried to shame her into doing the album.

LB & CM try to pretend that they "always" wanted to do this album together, but, in actuality, it's a Fleetwood Mac album, but no one would release it as "Fleetwood Mac" without Stevie on it.

At age 69, Stevie can do whatever the fuck she wants. Singing backup on horrible new Buckingham & McVie songs was not appealing to her (and they ARE horrible; I was given the album early - then threw it away).

Even if she got 4 of her songs on the new FM album, Stevie has said she hated Buckingham's production on 2003's "Say You Will" album and no longer trusted him to produce her songs. Why should she go through that hell again?

Stevie's enjoying her sell-out solo arena shows as well as her upcoming appearances with Don Henley in Dallas and Tom Petty in London. And she is doing some huge shows with Fleetwood Mac this Summer, and will be touring with them through 2018.

The "McVie-Buckingham" will go as unnoticed as 1995's Stevie-less "Time" album by Fleetwood Mac.

While Ann plays bars and Nancy "high kicks" it at Nostalgia Festivals.

by Anonymousreply 212June 5, 2017 4:11 PM

People aren't "going in and out of vans all the time," stinking asshole at R211. That's up to whoever owns the van.

And what's special about a "new touring van," you fucking jackass. A van is a van is a van; there's nothing to see.

Shithead.

by Anonymousreply 213June 5, 2017 4:17 PM

Sweetheart R213, if you got out of your trailer park, you'd see there are some amazing touring vans that have wheels. They're McMansions for the road. They are something to see. And yes, people do go in and out of vans all the time but the twins asked to go into it and you, er, the husband choked them. The reporting is fine, it's your proud sixth grade education that's lacking.

by Anonymousreply 214June 5, 2017 4:20 PM

You can stick your "sweetheart" right up your fucking ass.

by Anonymousreply 215June 5, 2017 4:46 PM

R213 and R215 have to either be Nancy and Dean or someone doing an amazing imitation of two clueless sociopaths with anger issues. Bravo! DL salutes you.

by Anonymousreply 216June 5, 2017 5:01 PM

I think you meant Ann R216. Whatever. Is Ann back on coke? I watched several 2017 interviews and she has that dried out speaking voice, the sniffles and "cold nose". Of course, she'll say it's allergies, the flu or too much singing but her behavior makes you know she's on something.

by Anonymousreply 217June 5, 2017 6:33 PM

R216 did you mean Ann and Dean?

by Anonymousreply 218June 5, 2017 8:19 PM

I love the new DL ad window: Ann Wilson of Heart will be performing a FREE concert at the Fremont Street Experience in Vegas on July 3.

by Anonymousreply 219June 21, 2017 3:09 AM

She has a husband?

by Anonymousreply 220June 21, 2017 3:15 AM

Try to follow along, r220.

by Anonymousreply 221June 21, 2017 5:28 AM

Nancy will be opening some dates for Bob Seger.

by Anonymousreply 222June 22, 2017 7:32 AM

The evil husband isn't even hot! Who would sacrifice their family and money (which you shouldn't do anyway) to stay with *that*!

Maybe men named Dean are just bad news as husbands...

by Anonymousreply 223June 22, 2017 12:19 PM

It sounds like Nancy will actually be in Bob's band.

by Anonymousreply 224June 22, 2017 3:04 PM

I love Stevie but Ann is the best female rock singer ever

by Anonymousreply 225June 26, 2017 5:07 AM

It'll be 110 in Vegas on July 3 and she's performing at FSE, albeit under a tent. She's in her 60s, clearly on drugs again and is singing in the worst weather conditions possible. She won't make it through the end of the year touring. Hearing her earlier on the tour, her voice is sounding rougher than ever.

by Anonymousreply 226June 26, 2017 5:41 AM

What makes you think Stevie is on drugs again?

by Anonymousreply 227June 26, 2017 4:15 PM

R227, wrong thread. Ann is the one who is almost certainly on drugs again. Wonderful hubby Dean moved her to Tallahasse away from family and friends and her behavior has been erratic in interviews.

by Anonymousreply 228June 26, 2017 4:35 PM

You do not choke people unless you are in fear for your life. There must be some really damaged deplorables on this thread who grew up being beaten and thus think violence is perfectly normal.

by Anonymousreply 229June 26, 2017 5:27 PM

"Thank God Stevie has her looks... she certainly doesn't have a voice!"

Stevie has had quite a bit of plastic surgery, including breast implants. Supposedly she had the implants removed. Anyway, she's had lots of work done.

Nancy Wilson's face is now unrecognizable due to plastic surgery. If you didn't know it was her you'd never think it was the same pretty blonde Wilson sister.

Ann looks funny as hell at R110. Her hair looks ridiculous. I wonder who did her makeover. And her voice sounds....strange. It sounds like she's drugged or drunk. Anyway, she was not always "fat" but she was always big. Even at her thinnest, she was a big girl. Nothing wrong with that. But in later years she really blew up. I wonder how big she is now; I think her gastric surgery helped, but she's still large.

by Anonymousreply 230June 26, 2017 10:54 PM
Nancy Wilson's face is now unrecognizable due to plastic surgery. If you didn't know it was her you'd never think it was the same pretty blonde Wilson sister.

Are you Dean or on drugs (or both)? Nancy doe snot look "unrecognizable," she looks exactly as you think she would look. Ann is the one that looks nothing like she did in the 80's. Something is definitely different about her face. She looks like Roseanne.

by Anonymousreply 236June 27, 2017 7:10 PM

Poor R235 has no clue what an actual woman in her 60's is supposed to look like.

by Anonymousreply 237June 28, 2017 3:45 AM

"R235 has no clue what an actual woman in her 60's is supposed to look like."

Please do explain "what an actual woman in her 60s is supposed to look like." I think they're supposed to look they they alway have, only older. They have the same face, only it's older. Both Ann and Nancy Wilson do not have their original faces. They've been obliterated with plastic surgery.

by Anonymousreply 238June 28, 2017 4:35 AM

R238 if you're R235 you're the one that said Nancy looks older than her age, no she doesn't. She looks like a woman in her 60's does. Further, if you think Nancy is unrecognizable to the point that someone would have to tell you that it was her, you're in the minority... and you need glasses.

Ann however does not have her original face .As someone already said above, she has Roseanne's face.

by Anonymousreply 239June 28, 2017 1:32 PM

Nancy looks like Nancy to me just older and not very well maintained.

by Anonymousreply 240June 28, 2017 1:43 PM

by Anonymousreply 241June 28, 2017 1:48 PM

R241, there are worse reasons to get married. Like Ann getting married to someone who probably beats the shit out of her.

by Anonymousreply 243June 28, 2017 2:56 PM

Has anyone seen photos of Ann and Nancy's former lovers, the Fisher brothers Michael and Roger? They don't look that bad, just kind of rough, although Michael Fisher's hair is kind of odd (it's urine colored). Michael Fisher was Ann's "Magic Man"; she was smitten with him (she said it was "love at first sight for both of us") but he was just a draft dodging control freak. When Nancy joined the band brother Roger "made a beeline" for her and although she wasn't interested at first she eventually "caved in" to his advances. The cozy brothers/sisters/lovers arrangement went on for a few years until Roger, who was a druggie womanizer, got kicked out of the band. Later Ann and Michael Fisher broke up after he took up with another woman. The disengagement from the Fisher brothers was acrimonious, but in their memoir Ann and Nancy are polite and subdued when discussing their relationships with the brothers. But I remember an interview long ago where, when asked about the "Magic Man", Ann said to the interviewer "the magic wore off."

Although Ann and Nancy were never able to have children, the Fisher brothers were prolific breeders. Roger had seven children. Michael Fisher had ELEVEN.

by Anonymousreply 244June 28, 2017 4:54 PM

I'm pretty sure Nancy was with Crowe before he had any real money., Dean.

by Anonymousreply 245June 28, 2017 4:57 PM

Nancy was in Fast Times meaning they were already a couple. Crowe was only a rock writer and Fast Times was his first book/screenplay so, yes, she was with him before he probably had any money. I think they complimented each other well and Nancy certainly learned the business from him. Her second husband, while an executive at Fox, is also hardly a multi-millionaire. I'm sure they're very comfortable but it's not like she nabbed a Microsoft or Starbucks founder.

by Anonymousreply 246June 28, 2017 7:45 PM

What drugs do you think Ann is on?

by Anonymousreply 247July 16, 2017 5:04 AM

Nancy shouldn't be taking sides with her nearly grown child ....the kid will fly the nest in a year or two. She needs to repair the relationship with her sisters.

by Anonymousreply 248July 16, 2017 6:16 AM
Seems like Nancy marries for money.

Cameron Crowe was a brokedick wannabe screenwriter when she started dating him. SHE was the rock star, the one with money. Over the years his income has waxed and waned - he doesn't have as much money as you'd think - and Nancy's own income was at times critical to their financial well-being. Ann herself said that it was partly Nancy and Cameron's need for money that prompted Nancy to rejoin Heart after she left in the 1990s.

R248, it was Nancy's twin boys - two kids, not one - who were attacked by Dean Witter. No mother worth her salt would have blown off an assault like that on minor kids. A parent's job is to protect their children. She does need to heal her relationship with Ann, because she and Ann have been close all their lives. But there can't be any healing until Ann gets out from under Witter's influence.

by Anonymousreply 249July 16, 2017 6:33 AM

R247, probably the same drugs that R248 is on.

by Anonymousreply 250July 16, 2017 8:39 AM

Yawn--I just don't get the appeal of oldies acts, esp. people whose voices were all about intensity and power, rather than being great singers in the classic sense. No one will confuse these women with Ella Fitzgerald or even Aretha Franklin who had more range. And even more conventional pop singers don't necessarily age well--there are recent Youtubes of Petula Clark that make it clear that she's probably been tone deaf for years. Folies and flky-ish people can slow down and stick with their best range in older age, even if they still wind up sounding far from their prime, but shriekers like the Wilsons and raspers like Nicks just end up sounding like hell.

by Anonymousreply 251July 16, 2017 6:45 PM

by Anonymousreply 260July 26, 2017 1:01 AM

Ann has a lovely speaking voice in that doc clip. The singing was choppy as well. I've heard belters adapt to range loss by using head voice. Obviously, it won't work stylistically for all parts of a well known arrangement, but it can aid the singer to work within their range more easily and also to take the song in a different direction.

I doubt they need money. They just don't know what it's like to not work.

by Anonymousreply 270July 27, 2017 7:50 AM

Ann looks pretty without makeup. I always admired her.

Annoying Heart fans are complaining on Facebook desperately wanting these two to get back together as Heart and keep touring. Christ both of these broads are pushing 70, how many more years do these stupid fans think the Wilsons can tour the Heart jukebox? I'm sure Ann wants to something musically on her own terms while she still has a few years left to sing. Nancy not so much. Of the two it's clear who is the more talented.

Is there a prenup between Ann and Dean? They were married in California, wh. is a community property state. Shortly after this incident they suddenly relocated to Key West, FL. Ann claims to love it there, "Where a dollar is still a dollar." I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for 46 years. I have been to Florida. The heat and humidity is quite a shockeroo compared to the mild weather here. Why would Ann move as far away from Washington State geographically in the contiguous 48? What does Florida have to offer except closer proximity to the cocaine cartels of Central America? I swear Dean's manipulating Ann. The incident with Nancy's boys kind of played into his hand. He now had a reason to get Ann away from her family, and her extended family, that being the organization that is Heart. I think he drummed it into Ann's head that Nancy was dead weight, that she - Ann - is really who the fans came to see. What does he do? Convinces Ann to go on the road solo, making bank with these appearances. Then it wouldn't surprise me that when her income [he doesn't have a job as far as I know. Unless riding around with Ann from gig to gig in their tour bus is a job] reaches a certain figure he will file for divorce and go for 50% of her estate. This is just my 2 centimes, but he is a creep and a tool. & no, I haven't met him. All you need to do is look at his face in the pic.

[R2] I have met Nancy. She isn't a bitch. You are wrong about that.

by Anonymousreply 275March 16, 2018 1:41 PM

[R10], the incident was reported to the police. Have you read the witnesses description of what happened? [R12], Nancy is not scrounging for work. You are inventing lies, and you're not good at it.

by Anonymousreply 276March 16, 2018 1:44 PM

[R118], it's my understanding that there is a misconception that Ann had the full meal deal (no pun intended) gastric bypass surgery. She had some other, not-as-invasive thing done. But I'm not a gastroenterology specialist. I'm just a white boy from Brooklyn.

by Anonymousreply 277March 16, 2018 1:55 PM

[R202], dogs can be fucking trained not to bolt. It sounds like Ann's dogs haven't been trained. The boys didn't leave the door open, it was being held open for a friend to exit the bus. The dogs were never out of the bus. Dean snapped. He was required to go through drug and alcohol evaluation/treatment as part of his sentence. Or did you even bother to stretch your attention to read that far?

Love Nancy Wilson. Incredibly lovely (and shy) lady. Ann is even MORE shy and anxiety ridden. I find this such a shame that these two sisters have stopped speaking...

MY god Ann, FOR THAT MAN???? He looks like a 200 year old version of Johnny Cash, minus the talent!

by Anonymousreply 279March 24, 2018 10:33 PM

Ann's husband looks like the corpse of Johnny Cash.

by Anonymousreply 280March 24, 2018 11:24 PM

I do not understand why wealthy, talented & beautiful women do this. There must be some very powerful forces at work because Ann has fuck-you money and the entire world backing her up if she decides to walk.

by Anonymousreply 281March 24, 2018 11:30 PM

Ann simultaneously butchers and nails the national anthem. at the Special Olympics held in Seattle last week.

How does that old woman have 16 year old sons?

by Anonymousreply 283July 3, 2018 4:32 AM

Because we care so much about washed-up '80s screamers.

by Anonymousreply 284July 3, 2018 4:36 AM

Why didn't the stupid kids close the tour bus door, like they were told?

Then the whole thing could have been avoided.

by Anonymousreply 285July 3, 2018 4:53 AM
How does that old woman have 16 year old sons?

Adopted. Most women who are almost 70 years old would rather jump off a bridge than have teenaged children.

by Anonymousreply 286July 3, 2018 4:59 AM

R285 = Patsy Ramsey

by Anonymousreply 287July 3, 2018 5:03 AM

Only on Datalounge are there people who still know who these people are . . .

by Anonymousreply 288July 3, 2018 5:20 AM

Heart are still pretty well-known. You still hear their songs all the time.

by Anonymousreply 289July 3, 2018 5:51 AM

A surrogate had the twins when Nancy was 46 years old, R283.

reply 10 I met Stevie a couple of times through an actor friend Jimmy. He saw her in the last year. Stevie Nicks NEVER had plastic surgery. She used to have liposuction on her hips and hated 3 shots of botox so she shaved off her eyebrows and they never grew back. She adds hair filler clips but she doesn't perm anymore and she feels shy and thinks her head looks too big. She has a hole cut clean thru the center cartilage and it almost breached her snius brain barrier. My friend met her at her lowest. They use musk and patchouli etc...He sang on demos.

Ann has the best voice but can come off as a bitch because she's insecure and shy. Nancy is just sweet. If she didn't have her boobs and if she wasn't Ann's sister...she'd have no career her guitar skills are mediocre at best. Regarding her weird husband Dean I heard he's wet brain'd...and has always been abusive. Sorry your step uncle should never hit his wives nephews. That's nast to his woman, her sister, the boys AND the band! She brought in the cash. loser

I don't know what's worse: that R1 is a pedo or that multiple people gave him WWs.
