Dang! I never realized how hot (and HUNG!) he was!
He had a pretty good career, but I always felt he he was a little better than his record. He had a few series that did OK for a handful of seasons, but he never really had that top rated hit. I think he was probably closest with Vegas and Spenser for Hire.

I think his calling cards were S.W.A.T. and Vegas. The rest was kinda shite. He did age well though, didn't he?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 31, 2016 3:57 PM |
Doesn't look hung to me. Looks more like all potatoes and no meat....
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 31, 2016 3:58 PM |
Hey! Potatoes are a meal!

Those jeans look real uncomfortable in the crotch. Why was it so popular in the 70s? I'd be embarrassed showing dick outline like that it's so blatant.

Passed way before his time. May he RIP.

My friend Norquist knew him and said when he dropped his pants three pairs of rolled up stockings fell out.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 31, 2016 4:39 PM |
I remember him well. Very manly.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 31, 2016 4:53 PM |
You think that's hung OP? You clearly haven't seen many truly hung men's bulges.

R12 = The Grand Canyon
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 31, 2016 5:27 PM |
OP's picture is nothing more than a testicle caught hanging (he obviously went commando or wore boxers). I don't even see any penis in that bulge at all.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 31, 2016 5:34 PM |
It's surprising to think he'd be turning 70 this month.

"He did age well though, didn't he?"
Until he died at 55. Sorry. Gallows humor, couldn't resist.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 31, 2016 5:43 PM |
I seem to recall that he was very well liked and considered one of the good guys. According to IMDB, he was a protege of Burt Reynolds and lived with him(thoughh there was the FSU Football connection as a strong tie) and was then brought intto Aaron Spelling's stable. Other than that, any gossip?
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 31, 2016 6:02 PM |
R14, you can barely see the micro-print to the right....
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 31, 2016 6:11 PM |
I was an extra in his T.V. movie Scandal Sheet. All I remember was that his ass was on the large side.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 31, 2016 7:18 PM |
He died of a blood cancer...or what?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 31, 2016 7:23 PM |
He looks a bit like a young Jack Nicholson in his Wiki picture.

[quote]he was a protege of Burt Reynolds and lived with him
It's rather well known in certain circles that he was one of "Burt's boys". Burt followed in the footsteps of Rock Hudson. He always had a stable of handsome young men around him, and many worked in the movie business with a few becoming stars. Lee Majors was one of Rock's biggest "finds". Majors was the passaround boy for Rock and his buddies when they'd go to Kentucky to a hunting lodge one of them owned. Rock eventually brought him to Hollywood and the rest is history.

"Spenser: For Hire" was a great show that deserved a longer life. Frankly, his best in my opinion.

I loved him with Faye Dunaway in It Had to Be You.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | December 31, 2016 8:27 PM |
Dan Tanna was packing more than just a gun!

He was my first gay crush. I was 12 years old.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | December 31, 2016 8:40 PM |
He made being sexy looked effortless. Which of course it isn't.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | December 31, 2016 9:18 PM |
Very charismatic and likeable which is probably why he got so many tv series.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 1, 2017 1:49 AM |
He got so many TV series because he serviced and was serviced by the right people.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 1, 2017 2:18 AM |
I barely remember him. Was he a gay?
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 1, 2017 2:52 AM |

Isn't that just too bizarre for words!... Like something David Lynch dreamed up.

I never miss a Faye Dunaway sitcom.

My dad was friends with him in college. Don't start, they were just friends. Dad said he was a nice guy.

Married to Heather Menzies, who played one of the Von Trapp children in The Sound of Music.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 1, 2017 6:32 AM |
He didn't do anything for me when I was a kid, not like John Schnieder or Gregory Harrison did. But now when I see him in pictures or reruns..oh yes sir. He is very sexy.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 1, 2017 9:06 AM |
He was one of the hotter guys on TV in the 70's and 80's.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 1, 2017 12:27 PM |
R39 is correct
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 1, 2017 1:14 PM |
I read that he was sterile as a result of adult mumps or measles. He and Heather adopted their kids. He as also of Russo-Carpath descent whatever that is. Central European? That would explain his striking good looks.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 1, 2017 1:33 PM |
He had a blue collar vibe that was very attractive.

I liked him as Peter, the tennis player, in "Soap." This scene, where he's introduced to the Tates and Campbells, is hilarious.

Urich looks like Karl Urban

I had an aunt who lost her mind and was found by the side of the road with her suitcase waiting for Dan Tanna to pick her up and take her away.

At one time he was in the Guiness Book of World Records for being something like the most prolific actors on TV due to starting in so many shows many of which didn't last long.

I’m assuming it was this scene at 8:30 with those glorious tight white pants...
